O TYM ODCINKU
Why go into academia? Because you love answering email, or the flexibility, or because you can do whatever you want if you can convince someone to fund you! On today’s episode of Dear Grad Student Dr. Dave Coyle shares about his path to an academic position, what he views as the pros and cons of this career path are, and what his experience as a faculty member has been like. Dave and Elana dig into Elana’s outdoor opinions, what skills are important for grad students to master in order to be successful faculty, discuss the interview process, and how important luck is. What more could we want as Dear Grad Student discusses academic positions?
This is the perfect episode for anyone questioning their career path – if you’re thinking about a career in academia (even an alt-academic position) or if you aren’t sure what you want to do after grad school, this is the episode for you.
