O TYM ODCINKU
Albert Mudrian interview (Decibel Magazine/Choosing Death Author), April 25th, 2020.
Incredible 2.5 hour Consuming Impulse chat with Albert Mudrian. The person who I see who held up a torch to wipe away some of the moss growing on a somewhat dormant giant in the early 2000s and wrote the bible (called "Choosing Death") on the global death metal movement. At the same time he started Decibel Magazine that has become one of the biggest extreme music magazines in the world. We talk about how Choosing Death really garnered the adjective "Improbable" for good reason, all the ins and outs about how that came about and what it was like in seemingly foggier times to contact death metal guys who were out of the game. We touch on all the facets of Decibel Magazine from the Hall Of Fame segments and books through the metal and beer fest held once or twice a year and the institution that is the Decibel Magazine tour around the U.S. Albert tells us what it was like to see Neurosis through the Through Silver In Blood era at Ozzfest and what it was like to see a Relapse showcase show where Neurosis played the entire Times Of Grace album start to finish 6 months before it came out -- AND later on featuring them in their complete own Decibel issue. So much more within. Truly a landmark episode.
