Midnight Therapy #100 - 9/11, Twenty Five Years Later

Episode 100 is here. Cat looks back at where the world was 25 years ago and how September 11th changed America forever — from the War on Terror and the Patriot Act to the fear, surveillance, conspiracies, and questions that still surround that day. He also gets into the controversial stories of people allegedly celebrating in New Jersey and the “Dancing Israelis,” before looking at how America somehow came together in the aftermath — and asking whether that kind of unity could ever happen again.

Then we fast-forward to today: New York politics, the recent 9/11 anniversary ceremony, a bizarre Times Square police shooting, and the latest twist in the Lindsay Clancy case after a mistrial.

Plus, Cat dives into the strange rise of Stella Lefty — daughter of billionaire Eric Lefkofsky, founder of the AI healthcare company Tempus AI — and the controversy surrounding her music, her rapid rise to fame, and the similarities between her hit “Boston” and Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season,” which ultimately resulted in Kahan receiving a songwriting credit. From Stella and Noah Kahan to Kanye West, Cat gets into originality, influence, and the growing question hanging over the music business: what happens to music when AI can make almost anything?

And after 100 episodes, Cat takes a moment to reflect on Midnight Therapy itself — the stories, ideas, conspiracies, comedy, and late-night rabbit holes that somehow got us here.

Sit back, relax… this is Episode 100 of Midnight Therapy.
