“We’ll talk about it later.” When it comes to burial plans, many families do—until they’re making unfamiliar decisions while grieving.
In Episode 55, Armando Bernal, Family Service Counselor with Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Miami, joins the table for an honest, approachable conversation about Catholic burial, cremation, and planning ahead. What should families know? Where do you start? And how do you bring it up with someone you love?
For Brian’s family, those questions became personal after his father passed away. Armando helped them navigate the arrangements, and that experience helped inspire this episode.
Joining the conversation is returning guest co-host Ed Kolo, coordinator of the ManUp Conference and a fellow member of the Catholic Cemeteries team. Plus, Richard Palmer takes us on another unexpected detour in Richard’s Rabbit Hole.
Stick around after the closing song for bonus Bread Crumbs—quick questions, questionable choices, and a few more laughs with Armando.
Recorded live at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Miami, Florida, for Radio Maria.
