Andrew Oliveros: my name is Andrew Oliveros and this is And Andrew, a Washington Commanders in Wizards podcast. Ha. my goodness guys. Where do I start? Where do I start? The Washington Commanders lose across the pond. AKA London in the UK. Thirty to thirteen. Against the Indianapolis Colts. Ten penalties. Ten penalties. The Commander's defense did everything they could to keep us in this game. It wasn't their fault. Yes, we lost 30 to 13. if you don't look at the context of the game, you think, well, the defense gave up 30 points. Look at the context of the game. The defense played their tails off. But the offense couldn't get the job done. It wasn't enough. Because again, I'm just going to repeat it again and again. Penalty after penalty. Mistake. Or mistake. It was a killer. And I could go through each screw up by the reps and there were a lot of screw ups, missing calls left and right. But what is that gonna do? What is that gonna do? Is that gonna change anything? No. They don't care what I have to say. They don't care what the reporters have to say. If the players say something, they'll get fined by the league. So what is that gonna do? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. We can whine all we want. And trust me, I get it. But refs or no refs, guys, Washington needs to clean up their act. Play more disciplined football because if you commit ten penalties, regardless of the situation, don't expect to win football games. I just scotly man. It just Not happy. Not happy. But let's get to some of the takeaways from the Colts game. So this commander's defense on a lighter note, on a more positive note, this this commander's defense, they're actually pretty dang good. Like for real. the guys were flying around out there, getting loads of pressure on Daniel Jones, forcing a fumble, getting a pick, making crucial tackles. All to give Washington, Washington's offense a chance to stay in this game. But the offense could not finish the job. Couldn't finish it. Yes, Marcus Mariota. Yet another quarterback hurt, of course, our luck. But Marcus Mariota left the game early with an MCL injury. But despite that, we were still in it. Ethan Kaliacbanis, Greek. This is for you, my uncle Tampas Palis. And my great friend Charlie Papadopoulos. This is you guys might not know who I'm talking about. And that's okay. But they know who they are. And this is for you because Athan Kalekmanis, the Greek rifle, Greek. You know it meets that's okay. I give you lamb. That's okay. I give you lamb. He's also known as the Baklava Bammer. He was throwing dots out there. He threw a beautiful He was throwing beauties, beautiful throws, 47 yard. Touchdown pass to Traylon Burks. Another beauty to Diamme Brown for forty eight yards. And then this close to connecting. He he threw an eighty seven yard touchdown pass to wok rookie wide receiver Antonio Williams. But, and this is another thing. It would have tied the game twenty to twenty. Twenty apiece. But then, here's here here's the of course this happens. No surprise. You see the little yellow set thing at the bottom where it says flag. Illegal formation. Offense. Five yard penalty. Repeat. Third down. Ten penalties. Unacceptable. Did I disagree with the call? Yes, I disagree with the call. And it wasn't just me, you might think, just some Joe Schmel, Andrew Oliveros. No. Journalist JP Finley a lot of other reporters, a lot of other experts in this game of football. it's beyond us. We we we have no control of the game. It sucks it sucks that we got screwed on that play. But regardless, it's we we just need to play more disciplined football. the commanders need to not even put themselves in that situation. Clean up the act, man. I am tired of these penalties, of these mistakes, of turnovers. You guys are beating yourselves. The Colts are not better than us. They are not that good of a football team. We had them controlled in the beginning of this game. It was only ten to seeks. The defense was d the defense was dominating. But then you shoot yourself in the foot. Too many dumb mistakes. The basics, guys. Get it together. You want to be up there in the playoffs, NFC championships, Super Bowls. You can't be making mistakes like this. You can't. And last but not least I need to address something very serious. And I know I'm laughing, but I'm not laughing because it's a funny matter. I'm laughing because of how ridiculous these people have become. I need to address some malpractice from general manager Adam Peters and head coach Dan Quinn. I hope you're listening. You probably aren't, but I still want to relay this message. It'll make me feel better. Why in Tarnation did you start Matt Golbin at guard? over Nick Allegretti. Did you did you see what what I saw on tape at training camp in the preseason? The guy was cheeks. He was getting beat off his you know what. His behind. And because of Golbin. Mariota is now hurt. Golbin missed the block. Mariota got sacked. Mariota re aggravated his MCL injury. that performance is better than what we got in Nick Allegretti after he just made a big block at the end of that Seahawks game to help us win the game? Matt Golden's better? Are you serious right now? Just this past offseason, guys. Just this past off season, Mr. Adam Peters had the audacity to say, well, you know, we have the confidence in Allegretter in Allegretti, and he's our guy at center. He's our guy. The utmost confidence. And you'd think Peters would stick to his word, right? We're like, we're going in with Allegretti. Nope. Brought off some guy off the street, Lucas Patrick. And they move Allegretti to guard. Fine. You're all about him being your guy at center. So much for that. But fine. You put him in at you put him in at at guard. And he played a damn good game against the Seahawks. But then for some odd reason, you're like, you know what? This is an important game against the Colts. we're gonna go put Matt Golden in in front of Nick Allegretti. Because why not? You say that, well, I just I just kinda Dan Clone's like, I just I just like the match, the mix and match of of Patrick at center and and Matt Goldwyn at guard. Really? Are we watching the same game? my goodness. I just don't understand, guys. I'm no offensive line expert, but I have two eyes. One right here and one right here. And Allegretti is by far better than Matt Golden. And Dan Quinn was like, well, you know, Allegredi was dealing with an injury throughout the week. Yeah, we know. He was on the injury list. But then you put no injury designation for him on Sunday. He was available to play. He could have played. That is an excuse, and I think you know it too. But you know what? You got what you deserve. You put Goblin out there, and we saw what happened. It was crap. Just make it make sense, guys. wait. It doesn't. Giants week playing the New York football Giants. Guys, it's a it's as close to a must-win game for the Washington Commanders as there is. If you don't win, the Commanders drop to one and four and and three in the division. You don't want to be there. That is no bueno. is this a winnable game? Yes, winnable game. But you cannot overlook the Giants. Not at all. At first, I'm not gonna lie, they were coming into the this past week against the Arizona Cardinals. I thought the Cardinals would win. I was thinking, well, yeah, okay, the Giants are two and one, but that's a fluke. They're not they're not actually that good. But they proved me wrong. They played some hard nosed, tough football against the Arizona Cardinals. Got a lot, what, thirty four, thirty seven points? have one heck of a defense over there in New York? And are very well disciplined. That's the difference, man, about these football teams that win. It comes down to discipline. The Commanders do not have discipline. The New York Giants do have discipline under the new head coach and his coaching staff and John Harbaugh. If Washington wants to win this game, Cut the penalties. Cut it out. Cut the mistakes. Please. My name is Andrew Oliveros, and this is And Andrew, a Washington Commanders and Wizards podcast. Guys, I appreciate you very, very much. Thank you for whether you're watching me on YouTube or listening to me on Spotify Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, wherever you listen to your podcast or video. Love you. Bye.
O TYM ODCINKU
The Commanders didn't just lose to the Colts, they beat themselves. Ten penalties, a Marcus Mariota injury and a baffling decision to start Matt Gulbin over Nick Allegretti have Washington staring at a must-win game against the Giants.
