00:01:12.358 --> 00:01:17.078
Yeah, so that would have been Because my car accident was Oh, wow.
00:01:17.078 --> 00:01:18.438
It's pretty awesome.
00:01:18.438 --> 00:01:24.239
So besides watching your amazing you also were the person.
00:01:24.239 --> 00:01:27.879
Of course, that really, um, connected me on my faith journey again.
00:01:27.879 --> 00:01:44.200
And I really appreciate and love the Taylor Centre to hear you that way, but I came back the and it's just started me on a that journey too.
00:01:44.200 --> 00:01:49.438
So I thank you most sincerely journey, which was pretty cool.
00:01:49.438 --> 00:01:55.519
But for those of you who don't a little bit of his official bio man behind the bio.

That's right eleven, including He is both the Young Australian of the Year and Entrepreneur of the year in two thousand and six.
00:02:09.229 --> 00:02:18.908

00:02:18.908 --> 00:02:26.348
Sam went on to become one of the professional speakers, so you of that get in the way.
00:02:26.348 --> 00:02:36.030
In twenty thirteen, Sam became an entrepreneur and built his training company that now runs events globally, teaching people how to master communication for influence.
00:02:36.030 --> 00:02:44.389
He's one of the globally recognised speakers on the subject of dealing with disability and mastering its blocks to live a productive life.
00:02:44.389 --> 00:02:46.150
Sam, you are amazing.
00:02:46.150 --> 00:02:51.468
That's a great start.
00:02:51.468 --> 00:02:53.949
Who is this person?
00:02:53.949 --> 00:03:03.550
And today we're actually going because it asks for little would put it prints in there.
00:03:03.550 --> 00:03:05.110
So Prince Sam.
00:03:05.110 --> 00:03:20.949
Um, tell us a little bit about Because you have a beautiful wife, three amazing children and, you know, and lots of other stuff that I know has gone on in your life personally and that what would you like to share with the audience who would like to get to know you a little bit better?
00:03:23.150 --> 00:03:23.669
Yeah.
00:03:23.669 --> 00:03:24.750
Look, uh, look again.
00:03:24.750 --> 00:03:26.030
Thanks for having me, Celine.
00:03:26.030 --> 00:03:37.830
And it's lovely to see you know Look, look, I suppose for me, I always knew, ever since I was a young kid that I exist in this world to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
00:03:37.830 --> 00:03:47.830
And I suppose that's really true When you know, deep down that you're making a positive difference in the lives of others, it brings joy to your life.
00:03:47.830 --> 00:03:48.468
Yeah.
00:03:48.468 --> 00:03:55.150
And so I, um, you know, I've had along the way.
00:03:55.150 --> 00:03:58.949
Uh, but certainly, you know, what's really important to me is, uh.
00:03:58.949 --> 00:04:03.389
You know, I've been married now Been with her for thirty years.
00:04:03.389 --> 00:04:16.990
Uh, we got three beautiful kids, Not like you, but, um, and, uh, businessman, so I got about, uh, another sixty part time staff.
00:04:16.990 --> 00:04:19.028
So we've got a huge team.
00:04:19.028 --> 00:04:29.189
Um, but also at the same time, I and connections, and, uh, and I So I take a lot of risks.
00:04:29.189 --> 00:04:40.709
Some of them pay off, some of Uh, yet at the same time, you exist, and I know what my calling is in life.
00:04:40.709 --> 00:04:45.629
And, uh, so from a real macro position, uh, I think that's a good overview.
00:04:45.629 --> 00:04:46.110
I love it.
00:04:46.110 --> 00:04:46.670
And you know what?
00:04:46.670 --> 00:05:05.550
I think what is really cool, you, as we said, for a long time of you develop because, you that, you know, things could Um, but you actually mentioned You know what your purpose is?
00:05:05.550 --> 00:05:16.470
You know what you're calling on And it may have shifted and it may have changed just form because you were always about adding impact, you were always about contributing in different ways and what it was you were doing.
00:05:16.470 --> 00:05:24.910
Um, but then as you kind of move very beginning of all of this, were adding impact there.
00:05:24.910 --> 00:05:38.470
And I what I've noticed in watching your journey, um, a little bit like another proud mama kind of thing because I've watched you kind of grow up into, you know, where you are the leader and the person you are today.
00:05:38.470 --> 00:05:46.028
I think it's always been about though subconsciously or consciously, you are adding impact in every step that you could go.
00:05:46.028 --> 00:05:50.910
Yes, you are building a career, adding impact along the way.
00:05:50.910 --> 00:05:51.949
Tell me about that.
00:05:51.949 --> 00:05:52.550
Beginnings.
00:05:52.550 --> 00:05:54.990
Like so after the accident.
00:05:54.990 --> 00:05:59.860
Um, and you know, that was a you were gone.
00:05:59.860 --> 00:06:00.819
Um, really?
00:06:00.819 --> 00:06:04.860
And through the grace of God, was work for you to do.
00:06:04.860 --> 00:06:13.819
You then had to redefine who you How did you kind of really come Yeah.
00:06:13.819 --> 00:06:14.180
Yeah.
00:06:14.180 --> 00:06:16.778
So, so look, um, for those Yeah.
00:06:16.778 --> 00:06:24.220
So I actually had a major car Only left me with one arm, and my leg also doesn't work, uh, either.
00:06:24.220 --> 00:06:41.420
And I suppose that that was a because I was in the prime of my old, the only breadwinner in a So, um, so we had two young And then even then, a third one came along about a year after my accident.
00:06:41.420 --> 00:06:54.379
Um, but but ultimately, it was That one of my surgeons, he you do live with a disability, using this rather than this.
00:06:54.379 --> 00:07:04.740
And and for me, that really spoke a lot, because one thing I knew that, you know, I'm quite uneducated in a traditional sense, so I've never sat an exam.
00:07:04.740 --> 00:07:06.500
I never went through university.
00:07:06.500 --> 00:07:16.060
I don't have a degree or But I do have this, I don't know, like this, this, this mindset that says anything is possible.
00:07:16.060 --> 00:07:30.420
And so going through that, um, you know, going through that tough time of, uh, physical disability, um, I knew that, you know, I needed to create, um, intellectual property.
00:07:30.420 --> 00:07:39.300
I needed to I needed to find out what were the experiences that I had and what did I learn in that experience?
00:07:39.300 --> 00:07:46.420
And so and so when I grabbed then created IP.
00:07:46.420 --> 00:08:00.699
And then with that IP, I then that out in in books and also in, you know, in in using instrument in speaking about it.
00:08:00.699 --> 00:08:31.060
And so and so, you know, I and the last twenty years now of I've needed to reinvent myself Now, I've seen a lot of people spaces, you know, whether we are in my industry, it's more And I see a lot of sort of one And I see a lot of people in the years and then no longer in it.
00:08:31.060 --> 00:08:38.178
And so, you know, like everything, having that level of longevity requires a level of reinvention constantly.
00:08:38.178 --> 00:08:48.538
But the beautiful thing is, is that just staying true to that inner voice, that inner calling that says, I have to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
00:08:48.538 --> 00:09:15.090
I do see myself as a very simple I don't like getting too And so, you know, as long as I continue to have learnings in to develop intellectual property Um, that's all that really I think, you know, there's a really want to speak into that I people who are listening.
00:09:15.090 --> 00:09:16.850
One is the longevity piece.
00:09:16.850 --> 00:09:20.210
Um, people do, and we see it the It's the same.
00:09:20.210 --> 00:09:23.889
People come, people they go, they don't get the instant success.
00:09:23.889 --> 00:09:30.928
Um, so they, they think, oh, And that instead of actually leaning in and being able to learn.
00:09:30.928 --> 00:09:36.730
But the part also that's important about longevity, which you actually said is reinventing yourself.
00:09:36.730 --> 00:09:43.490
It's actually staying up to And that will look different in different professions like speaking and all the rest kind of thing.
00:09:43.490 --> 00:10:08.769
But really, even, you know, if evolved, I know that you have about, you know, staying up to speakers and the speaking It's the same for people within Is that and in any business shifting, what is changing, kind of thing.
00:10:08.769 --> 00:10:12.769
It's not about the fundamentals We want to make an impact.
00:10:12.769 --> 00:10:15.690
We want to be able to share a message, whatever that might look like.
00:10:15.690 --> 00:10:22.250
However, some of the practical skills around that may evolve or may change.
00:10:22.250 --> 00:10:26.090
And I think that that's what speakers will come in.
00:10:26.090 --> 00:10:37.129
And because Covid was a perfect example in that pregnant pause, people went from being on stages to having to shift into how do I now communicate with people effectively?
00:10:37.129 --> 00:10:46.330
And some did that really well, We haven't heard from them since disappeared in that.
00:10:46.330 --> 00:10:54.730
What was your learnings through Because if I think about the last even five to ten years, particularly out of your speaking career.
00:10:54.730 --> 00:11:00.808
A lot has evolved and changed in ahead of the curve.
00:11:00.808 --> 00:11:01.808
Definitely up with the curve.
00:11:01.808 --> 00:11:07.090
But from my observation ahead of makes that a reality for you?
00:11:09.009 --> 00:11:10.450
Look, um.
00:11:10.450 --> 00:11:11.450
Good question.
00:11:11.450 --> 00:11:18.970
Look, look, I actually wrote a It's, um, and it's my latest book and it's called People Follow People.
00:11:18.970 --> 00:11:36.928
So. So I suppose what that means is, is that, um, is that, like, if we renew our mind, if we become obsessed about, you know, giving value to others, then we have to be someone worth listening to.
00:11:36.928 --> 00:11:55.129
And so and so for me, um, what we've noticed, uh, before in the past, like we're talking twenty, thirty plus years ago, we used to follow brands and companies and logos and government and media, etc., but now no longer we trust that we don't trust it anymore.
00:11:55.129 --> 00:12:03.288
So people trust more human And so what that then means is that we're now living in the profile economy.
00:12:03.288 --> 00:12:20.850
Um, and so it's really important profile, uh, not only get our again, sharing the experiences did we learn through those vulnerable through that?
00:12:20.850 --> 00:12:45.570
You know, as someone that is a And, you know, the word etymology of the word Latin word vulnerability, which And I think one of the greatest ways to build trust with other human beings is by is by showing your scars, and by showing your scars, you're showing to other people that you've been there in the trenches.
00:12:45.570 --> 00:12:51.450
You've you've had the struggle as well, but you've learned something, how to get through that struggle.
00:12:51.450 --> 00:13:05.558
So for me, um, yeah, reinventing say, hey, look, I'm living life I'm going through the struggles times, but I've learned how to Let me help.
00:13:05.558 --> 00:13:07.080
Let me share.
00:13:07.080 --> 00:13:22.158
And so I actually think I've bit of a gift in how to overcome problems, find the formula and Well, I love that, I really do.
00:13:22.158 --> 00:13:25.038
I'm one of your books, of course, is called How to Bounce Forward.
00:13:25.038 --> 00:13:26.519
Um, and that too.
00:13:26.519 --> 00:13:31.639
And I, you know, again, you've always had that attitude of, um, okay.
00:13:31.639 --> 00:13:32.038
Yes.
00:13:32.038 --> 00:13:35.360
We go through hard times, everybody does some more than others.
00:13:35.360 --> 00:13:45.200
And your accident was probably a But you had a choice in that kind of to, to learn there was a reason and that.
00:13:45.200 --> 00:13:46.519
What was that reason?
00:13:46.519 --> 00:13:53.759
How can I actually turn this And your mess became your think is so powerful.
00:13:53.759 --> 00:14:00.120
And I feel for I feel for a long afraid of their mess.
00:14:00.120 --> 00:14:01.440
They've wanted to hide it.
00:14:01.440 --> 00:14:04.320
They've wanted to kind of, you know, step away from it or whatever.
00:14:04.320 --> 00:14:17.558
And yet we're human beings And yet I think by showing how we come through and we overcome, there is always somebody who's going to be able to learn from that lesson.
00:14:17.558 --> 00:14:27.120
And, and I really want to honor you in that space because you constantly made sure that you've done that because life is, you know, yes, there was the accident.
00:14:27.120 --> 00:14:35.080
But like, you know, every one of You know, we've got marriages.
00:14:35.080 --> 00:14:38.720
And like I said, you've been together with your amazing woman.
00:14:38.720 --> 00:14:40.080
She's just gorgeous.
00:14:40.080 --> 00:14:52.519
Anybody who ever gets a chance But like, you guys have been together, like you said, you know, twenty five plus years, um, myself and Mick this, you know, we're forty odd years now and that.
00:14:52.519 --> 00:15:00.558
But in that, that is an everyday So again, you get to be able to live the mess that is relationship.
00:15:00.558 --> 00:15:19.678
You get to be able to, uh, you you also get to model that and The same with raising children, have blessed with three amazing However, there was lots of mess get to be able to teach that.
00:15:19.678 --> 00:15:25.080
Um, and so for you, I suppose you just said there.
00:15:25.080 --> 00:15:30.678
I love how you talked about And I think that that's really agree with you.
00:15:30.678 --> 00:15:33.320
We used to trust the brands.
00:15:33.320 --> 00:15:36.879
We used to trust the people in power.
00:15:36.879 --> 00:15:42.759
And for whatever reason, there eroded over time.
00:15:42.759 --> 00:15:51.308
And so it is really important to, I suppose, show up in a way where people know that they can trust you.
00:15:51.308 --> 00:15:52.028
What is it?
00:15:52.028 --> 00:15:53.470
What have you found?
00:15:53.470 --> 00:16:07.590
That is the best way to be able Because primarily, I suppose A lot of that kind of from a profile perspective happens online, but also happens in person too.
00:16:07.590 --> 00:16:10.950
What do you feel is the best way to make sure that you are doing that?
00:16:10.950 --> 00:16:19.070
If people were thinking, well, Like, how do I, you know, become a person that people want to follow?
00:16:20.110 --> 00:16:21.629
Good.
00:16:21.629 --> 00:16:31.548
Look, um, it's really A few of my facilitators, me for over ten years, and trenches with us.
00:16:31.548 --> 00:16:33.110
They're still volunteering.
00:16:33.110 --> 00:16:46.230
A big part of what we've done actually created a massive Um, and then we then had no other choice but then to create a non-for-profit and it's called Speakers Tribe.
00:16:46.230 --> 00:16:50.028
And now there's tribe gatherings all around the world, which is huge.
00:16:50.028 --> 00:16:58.668
We just recently had a a speakers tribe leadership, um, tribe leader um, retreat in Bali.
00:16:58.668 --> 00:17:11.470
And so everyone not only do they and every month, they still then to come and be a part of a we had over sixty people there.
00:17:11.470 --> 00:17:12.670
It was amazing.
00:17:12.670 --> 00:17:17.150
But my point being is this without vision, the people perish.
00:17:17.150 --> 00:17:18.068
Yeah.
00:17:18.068 --> 00:17:45.430
And and sometimes if we do not following, then are we really And so ultimately, for me, I want to make sure that I create this epic vision that everyone shares together, that everyone can see that possibility, and everyone can then can see their role into into getting us there as well.
00:17:45.430 --> 00:17:50.348
And if that's communicated start a movement or the like.
00:17:50.348 --> 00:17:56.068
You know, I've got a we've now got a database of of over half a million people all around the world.
00:17:56.068 --> 00:18:09.990
And we've got their email We've got like a whole heap of And that's just simply because, you know, there's there's there's so many people out there that are craving that sense of belonging.
00:18:09.990 --> 00:18:25.390
So if I was if I'm a small business owner, a direct seller this, um, what would be two or about increasing your profile?
00:18:25.390 --> 00:18:30.868
So what would that look like to really kind of get into that space?
00:18:30.868 --> 00:18:31.828
Good.
00:18:31.828 --> 00:18:37.150
Uh, no. Know your know your origin story, um, and your conversion story.
00:18:37.150 --> 00:18:52.509
Now, now, the reason why be really key for every single people follow people and if you trust and be likeable and be at the same time.
00:18:52.509 --> 00:19:03.230
You must learn how to share your business story, your own Because, um, we are informed through logic, we buy through emotion.
00:19:03.230 --> 00:19:13.108
So it's really it's really important for you to learn how to emotionally connect with another human being, because information will inform, emotion will transform.
00:19:13.108 --> 00:19:19.470
And I think every human being needs to be in the every leader needs to be in the game of human transformation.
00:19:19.470 --> 00:19:27.710
And so, um, learn your origin basically that chronological you are today.
00:19:27.710 --> 00:19:35.788
And so, you know, when someone says, hey, tell me a little bit more about you, you need a you need absolutely nail that origin story.
00:19:35.788 --> 00:20:03.660
Now as a professional speaker, I might have a repertoire of, stories and each one of these have a thirty second version, a minute version, seven minute a twenty minute version of all And so know your origin story at least, and make sure that you do have like a a polished thirty second version, one minute version, a three minute, twelve minute.
00:20:03.660 --> 00:20:04.500
Yeah.
00:20:04.500 --> 00:20:09.980
The the second story that you call your conversion story.
00:20:09.980 --> 00:20:28.538
So a conversion story is time where a decision was made It's like a sliding doors Now we every single human being It's one of the most powerful stories to influence someone, to take action.
00:20:28.538 --> 00:21:01.900
And and when you, when you have have have nailed your origin story and your conversion story, share these constantly whenever you have a chance to to talk, to communicate, etc. because as we know, we are only as good as how well we can communicate and when we are in every situation, in leadership or in or in family or in community, in our personal or professional life, uh, I'd strongly encourage you to learn how to share more powerful stories, because it's the stories that connect us as human beings.
00:21:01.900 --> 00:21:13.740
It's the stories that allow us It's the stories that allow us to feel, um, and allow us to to catch things and remember things as well.
00:21:13.740 --> 00:21:20.460
So I love that, I love it, I We have an old saying in our profession facts tell, stories sell.
00:21:20.460 --> 00:21:26.019
And it is really about we need to be able to speak to that person's heart and find the problems.
00:21:26.019 --> 00:21:32.578
The best people are problem solvers, so you can't you can't actually get to somebody's problem unless you've built trust.
00:21:32.578 --> 00:21:34.900
And trust comes from your story.
00:21:34.900 --> 00:21:36.140
Um, so I love that.
00:21:36.140 --> 00:21:37.940
Get your origin story down pat.
00:21:37.940 --> 00:21:49.220
Now I'm going to say, guys, it plumber or electrician, whether you're a speaker, whatever, people are interested in people.
00:21:49.220 --> 00:21:55.259
Like Sam has already said, we about people following people.
00:21:55.259 --> 00:22:02.618
They've got to know, you know, that we used to say, they've got you, they've got to trust you.
00:22:02.618 --> 00:22:06.740
That comes from that beautiful origin story and that the conversion story.
00:22:06.740 --> 00:22:16.058
Because the other thing that I think is really important when you share that, when you share your story and you share your conversion story, there's that aha moment where people go, you know what?
00:22:16.058 --> 00:22:17.380
Maybe I could do that.
00:22:17.380 --> 00:22:29.420
They paint themselves into the picture then that you've kind of put out there, you've given them a bit of a blank canvas, but you've also given them belief that they could possibly do the same.
00:22:29.420 --> 00:22:30.420
So I just love that.
00:22:30.420 --> 00:22:31.338
I love that sound.
00:22:31.338 --> 00:22:32.140
That's been amazing.
00:22:32.140 --> 00:22:33.940
That's really, really cool.
00:22:33.940 --> 00:22:42.500
Um, so let's kind of progress a Um, I think one of the things about getting really good at that, though, is also getting good coaching.
00:22:42.500 --> 00:22:46.608
I believe in coaches and Um, I know you do, too.
00:22:46.608 --> 00:23:09.009
And I've got them in my life all And it could be in different whether it's business, whatever So right now for you then, like if somebody is they may not be say they might they might not want to be a speaker, but they definitely want to be able to craft their stories better and share improve how they communicate.
00:23:09.009 --> 00:23:10.210
What do you feel?
00:23:10.210 --> 00:23:19.009
Do you guys, you know, teach Tell me a little bit about what So the tribe really intrigues me other people as well.
00:23:19.009 --> 00:23:45.568
Um, but also because you're people feel supported in what it What does that look like for How can people get involved in Yeah, let's let's first of all, mentoring thing, which I, which You know, we've all heard of the We are the average of our five The company that we keep Yeah.
00:23:45.568 --> 00:23:53.608
And we also do know that ourselves, we we think we can do And we don't need help.
00:23:53.608 --> 00:23:54.650
Right.
00:23:54.650 --> 00:24:02.769
Um, there's a lot of humility um, for someone to put their Yeah.
00:24:02.769 --> 00:24:20.568
And my encouragement to you, if in life, if you want to fast we're teenagers and we wanted to Even all the way through to if when we want to upskill track something or or the like.
00:24:20.568 --> 00:24:28.528
Here is the thing, and bravery and you say, I need help now.
00:24:28.528 --> 00:24:45.769
Secondly to that is this, um, craving this next breakthrough If the breakthrough is financial or if it's, you know, um, fulfillment or if it's influence and impact, We are craving that breakthrough.
00:24:45.769 --> 00:24:50.048
Now, you cannot get a breakthrough without a sacrifice.
00:24:50.048 --> 00:24:50.650
Okay.
00:24:50.650 --> 00:24:57.288
Now the smaller the sacrifice, The bigger the sacrifice, the What's a sacrifice?
00:24:57.288 --> 00:24:59.009
A sacrifice could be money.
00:24:59.009 --> 00:25:00.009
It could be time.
00:25:00.009 --> 00:25:01.288
It could be resources.
00:25:01.288 --> 00:25:15.328
It could be, um, you know, it It could be feeling But the bottom line is this to requires a sacrifice.
00:25:15.328 --> 00:25:16.088
Yeah.
00:25:16.088 --> 00:25:24.130
And then if you're willing to Then you're willing, then you're for a bigger breakthrough.
00:25:24.130 --> 00:25:24.890
Yeah.
00:25:24.890 --> 00:25:30.608
Now, now I now, ultimately, this journey as well.
00:25:30.608 --> 00:25:36.848
The the times that I've been say I don't need help.
00:25:36.848 --> 00:25:40.608
The times that I've grown the fastest is when I'm humble and I'm brave.
00:25:40.608 --> 00:25:51.000
And I put my hand up and I need Um, and this is where, you know, Um, sacrifice is needed in order for you to get that breakthrough.
00:25:51.000 --> 00:25:53.598
Now, ultimately, you know what?
00:25:53.598 --> 00:26:04.558
Um, it took it took us years to But basically, if for those any of our programs, we do around the world.
00:26:04.558 --> 00:26:17.558
Um, and these are on these are from the Middle East through to Singapore, Australia and New five states here in USA.
00:26:17.558 --> 00:26:34.598
So we run in-person events of these countries and cities Now, our programs are more are boutique, meaning we only like in the room we have.
00:26:34.598 --> 00:26:43.720
We have about ten coaches in And um, and as our student, you what we do.
00:26:43.720 --> 00:26:53.400
What we know is that you can You can learn all of that, um, But if you really want to master this thing, you've got to get quality feedback.
00:26:53.400 --> 00:26:58.240
Uh, and the greatest way to get practice side of it.
00:26:58.240 --> 00:26:58.798
Yeah.
00:26:58.798 --> 00:27:09.000
Getting up on stage, getting some quality feedback going, working on that, then getting back up, you speaking, you sharing, you presenting, getting quality feedback and so on and so forth.
00:27:09.000 --> 00:27:23.598
That's how we've orchestrated Um, and it's, um, it's, uh, it The other thing I will share is this when you get really, really good at communication and presentation, you will be asked to speak.
00:27:23.598 --> 00:27:25.358
When you're asked to speak.
00:27:25.358 --> 00:27:34.519
It's a good feeling when you get thousand people or five thousand It's an even better feeling when you're renumerated for that as well.
00:27:34.519 --> 00:27:59.558
So this is so, so for me, being getting paid forty thousand It is it is incredible this So so yeah, my encouragement to you all um, would be upskill this number one skill set on the planet because we are only as good as how well we can communicate.
00:27:59.558 --> 00:28:09.798
There's a few really important that I've just written down here You cannot get a breakthrough And it is so true.
00:28:09.798 --> 00:28:46.558
It is about investing in yourself and and some I remember way back when, when, you know, things were very tight and you were trying to figure out you were you invested in coaching, um, and that we worked together for a while and, you know, that was back when, you know, honestly, you were figuring out how you were going to be, again, supporting your family at that point in time and to you invested right from the get go, as soon as you knew that you needed to shift where you were going to be going to provide for your family first and foremost, and then, of course, build a greater impact.
00:28:46.558 --> 00:28:51.880
You you did you put your money You did do that.
00:28:51.880 --> 00:29:02.278
And I think we can all also relate to the conversation where you said the parts when we struggle the most are when we're the most prideful, when we feel like we've got it, we've got it all sorted.
00:29:02.278 --> 00:29:12.318
And I'm exactly, exactly the Um, and the other thing I would continue to uplevel where it is you go as well.
00:29:12.318 --> 00:29:32.759
Um, so last year I invested in, you know, working with Jack Delisa and his company, the entourage and that and again, because it was that next one, it was getting uncomfortable, um, and getting outside of the box of going, okay, well, this is what we do in direct sales, but what happens out here that may actually impact us positively in here.
00:29:32.759 --> 00:29:46.548
And again, being prepared to be vulnerable, show the scars, um, and learn and be open to going, you know, because oftentimes people can get onto a training or listen to a podcast like this and go, oh yeah, but I know what.
00:29:46.548 --> 00:29:51.068
If you were to pretend that you just pick up something new.
00:29:51.068 --> 00:30:06.190
There's going to be something kind of go, you might have when you're open to hearing think it is actually when it has the, the, the the most.
00:30:06.190 --> 00:30:11.390
The other thing that you said there is the practice part.
00:30:11.390 --> 00:30:14.950
So you talked about, you know, they will get on stage.
00:30:14.950 --> 00:30:19.670
They'll get the feedback, and they'll go do it again.
00:30:19.670 --> 00:30:31.348
No matter what you're doing, whether you are a speaker on stage or whether you were somebody who was in a sales role or anything in between, the only way that we truly learn is from doing.
00:30:31.348 --> 00:30:40.630
We can have all of the book We can do all of the courses, but if we're not prepared to actually put ourselves in the arena to actually get dirty with We're trying.
00:30:40.630 --> 00:30:43.348
We will never truly learn.
00:30:43.348 --> 00:30:48.430
And I have a mentor of mine, um, me this, uh, one time.
00:30:48.430 --> 00:30:49.108
I would kind of.
00:30:49.108 --> 00:30:58.269
I was getting quite prideful reading, and he actually asked He said, how many of them could And I went, what do you mean?
00:30:58.269 --> 00:31:08.430
He said, honestly, though, he said, yes, we can consume knowledge, but when it comes powerful is when you can teach it.
00:31:08.430 --> 00:31:13.470
And it was like, whoa, okay, And that.
00:31:13.470 --> 00:31:16.150
So I was consuming knowledge and yes, I was using some for myself.
00:31:16.150 --> 00:31:28.788
But actually when you are reading something or you're learning something with the outcome that you know, you want to be able to teach this to at least one other person, you come at it from a whole different space.
00:31:28.788 --> 00:31:31.430
You really dig deep into it.
00:31:31.430 --> 00:31:37.269
And that's what I would And that's what I love about Because as they get up to practice on stage, they get the feedback.
00:31:37.269 --> 00:31:43.630
They come back, they get up again there, then two steps ahead of the next person who's coming along.
00:31:43.630 --> 00:31:49.269
And so they've got the wisdom already to be able to then give feedback to that next person as well.
00:31:49.269 --> 00:31:59.230
And so it creates this beautiful practicing learning, going again pay that forward.
00:31:59.230 --> 00:32:04.670
So I just wanted to really pull there was gold in there, mate.
00:32:06.108 --> 00:32:07.308
That was really good.
00:32:07.308 --> 00:32:08.028
Thank you.
00:32:08.028 --> 00:32:19.068
Hey is your is your have you Yes I have I have is um is is learner in your top in your, um things.
00:32:19.068 --> 00:32:19.588
Yeah.
00:32:19.588 --> 00:32:20.750
Yeah, yeah.
00:32:20.750 --> 00:32:27.348
I love learning I love learning, there was a number of years ago and I definitely shifted.
00:32:27.348 --> 00:32:27.868
Really.
00:32:27.868 --> 00:32:29.750
I love learning to teach.
00:32:29.750 --> 00:32:38.900
I do love that because I love Um, however, it just shifted my really, really keen around that.
00:32:38.900 --> 00:32:41.058
Oh my gosh, it's amazing.
00:32:41.058 --> 00:32:53.140
Um, a couple more questions What are you excited about as part of your journey around What is it that you feel that you're excited for in this journey?
00:32:54.778 --> 00:33:00.098
Look, um, look, I've been obsessed about, uh, AI for the last, probably the last nine months.
00:33:00.098 --> 00:33:26.220
And on average, I spend anywhere on AI, um, and and and also, one there in my industry and talking these are the people that um, and I talk to them all And then I'm also now looking at, um, at the impact that AI will make in the personal development self-help space in general.
00:33:26.220 --> 00:33:27.538
And it's fascinating.
00:33:27.538 --> 00:33:34.700
It's it's going to be really, Um, here's something that Are you ready?
00:33:34.700 --> 00:33:40.900
About a year and a half Online Wow.
00:33:40.900 --> 00:33:41.700
Okay.
00:33:41.700 --> 00:33:42.980
Because you know something?
00:33:42.980 --> 00:33:43.858
You know something.
00:33:43.858 --> 00:33:55.980
In a year and a half, you could conversation with me, and I'll I'll sound one hundred percent Every single question I'll do.
00:33:55.980 --> 00:34:01.098
And you would literally you put you on a lie detector test saying, yep, this is this is awesome.
00:34:01.098 --> 00:34:03.058
And it could be my digital twin.
00:34:03.058 --> 00:34:06.940
So just recently I created a webinar for a lot of my top tier students.
00:34:06.940 --> 00:34:10.699
And we and I showed them exactly how to create their own digital twin.
00:34:10.699 --> 00:34:22.579
This is through their own voice, through their own gestures, their own facial expressions, their own speed of speech, um, all the way through to, um, how they formulate their words through to their story, all of that.
00:34:22.579 --> 00:34:30.940
And so now I could show you a be very, very, very difficult actually me or not.
00:34:30.940 --> 00:34:45.340
Me. Now, now, when, when we're superintelligence, which will be It's going to be fascinating, particularly with, you know, um, AI agents as well, because I could I could literally get this ready.
00:34:45.340 --> 00:34:49.820
I could I could create one be the prompt.
00:34:49.820 --> 00:34:50.139
Ready.
00:34:50.139 --> 00:34:50.420
Listen.
00:34:50.420 --> 00:35:24.059
Is it'll it'll say this search, um, all the viral things um, all throughout online for the last two months in direct selling, analyze exactly how they went viral, create, um, create thousands of people of pieces of of my own intellectual property based on the theory of how these were viral and then post it a hundred times every single hour click.
00:35:24.059 --> 00:35:28.300
And I and I and you know something and you know something.
00:35:28.300 --> 00:35:37.018
I believe we're only about a And so the bottom line is out there, they're going to do that.
00:35:37.018 --> 00:35:59.539
And so unfortunately, what I more demand for analog, high And so if you can, if you can, um, finesse and nail that, well, um, it's going to be it's going to be a great it's going to be a good thing.
00:35:59.539 --> 00:36:15.579
And that's something that we're And that back to that in-person trust because people are not if it's real or if it's not kind So, um, yeah, I love it.
00:36:15.579 --> 00:36:27.900
We've been doing a lot of around AI as well, and how it yeah, and everything else and authentically, um, to.
00:36:27.900 --> 00:36:29.860
So I think that's really Excellent.
00:36:29.860 --> 00:36:33.300
Love it, love it, love it, love Okay, a couple of questions.
00:36:33.300 --> 00:36:40.289
These are the rapid fire that I If you had one piece of advice what would it be?
00:36:40.289 --> 00:36:42.730
Study software and coding.
00:36:42.730 --> 00:36:43.489
I love it.
00:36:43.489 --> 00:36:51.489
What's your favorite book right Um. Ray Dalio's on leadership Principles?
00:36:51.489 --> 00:36:52.170
Sorry.
00:36:52.170 --> 00:36:52.730
Okay.
00:36:52.730 --> 00:36:56.329
What song do you listen to when Or do you have a playlist?
00:36:57.610 --> 00:37:04.530
Yeah, I have a playlist and it So it's all the latest worship Awesome.
00:37:04.530 --> 00:37:06.250
Uh, what's your favorite quote?
00:37:06.250 --> 00:37:09.170
The best is yet to come.
00:37:09.170 --> 00:37:10.929
That one, I love it.
00:37:10.929 --> 00:37:12.449
Thank you, my friend.
00:37:12.449 --> 00:37:16.170
It has been amazing, as always It's been too long.
00:37:16.170 --> 00:37:20.170
Thank you so much for the wisdom that you've shared with us all today.
00:37:20.170 --> 00:37:27.929
We will be sharing in the show notes how you can connect with Sam, how you can be following him, and how you can grab his books.
00:37:27.929 --> 00:37:32.090
So again, my friend, thank you, thank you, thank you, appreciate you.
00:37:32.090 --> 00:37:33.050
You're welcome.
00:37:33.050 --> 00:37:33.650
Loved it.
00:37:33.650 --> 00:37:34.329
It was awesome.
00:37:34.329 --> 00:37:35.130
Thank you.
00:00:51.000 --> 00:00:55.240
Welcome, everybody to another with Selina Egan and friends.
00:00:55.240 --> 00:01:00.560
And today I have a lad I've Crikey.
00:01:00.560 --> 00:01:11.078
I want to say it's about fifteen At least I reckon it's even Did you know me before my car No. I met you not long after.
00:01:12.358 --> 00:01:17.078
Yeah, so that would have been Because my car accident was Oh, wow.
00:01:17.078 --> 00:01:18.438
It's pretty awesome.
00:01:18.438 --> 00:01:24.239
So besides watching your amazing you also were the person.
00:01:24.239 --> 00:01:27.879
Of course, that really, um, connected me on my faith journey again.
00:01:27.879 --> 00:01:44.200
And I really appreciate and love the Taylor Centre to hear you that way, but I came back the and it's just started me on a that journey too.
00:01:44.200 --> 00:01:49.438
So I thank you most sincerely journey, which was pretty cool.

00:02:18.908 --> 00:02:26.348

00:02:26.348 --> 00:02:36.030
In twenty thirteen, Sam became an entrepreneur and built his training company that now runs events globally, teaching people how to master communication for influence.
00:02:36.030 --> 00:02:44.389
He's one of the globally recognised speakers on the subject of dealing with disability and mastering its blocks to live a productive life.
00:02:44.389 --> 00:02:46.150
Sam, you are amazing.
00:02:46.150 --> 00:02:51.468
That's a great start.
00:02:51.468 --> 00:02:53.949
Who is this person?
00:02:53.949 --> 00:03:03.550
And today we're actually going because it asks for little would put it prints in there.
00:03:03.550 --> 00:03:05.110
So Prince Sam.
00:03:05.110 --> 00:03:20.949
Um, tell us a little bit about Because you have a beautiful wife, three amazing children and, you know, and lots of other stuff that I know has gone on in your life personally and that what would you like to share with the audience who would like to get to know you a little bit better?
00:03:23.150 --> 00:03:23.669
Yeah.
00:03:23.669 --> 00:03:24.750
Look, uh, look again.
00:03:24.750 --> 00:03:26.030
Thanks for having me, Celine.
00:03:26.030 --> 00:03:37.830
And it's lovely to see you know Look, look, I suppose for me, I always knew, ever since I was a young kid that I exist in this world to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
00:03:37.830 --> 00:03:47.830
And I suppose that's really true When you know, deep down that you're making a positive difference in the lives of others, it brings joy to your life.
00:03:47.830 --> 00:03:48.468
Yeah.
00:03:48.468 --> 00:03:55.150
And so I, um, you know, I've had along the way.
00:03:55.150 --> 00:03:58.949
Uh, but certainly, you know, what's really important to me is, uh.
00:03:58.949 --> 00:04:03.389
You know, I've been married now Been with her for thirty years.
00:04:03.389 --> 00:04:16.990
Uh, we got three beautiful kids, Not like you, but, um, and, uh, businessman, so I got about, uh, another sixty part time staff.
00:04:16.990 --> 00:04:19.028
So we've got a huge team.
00:04:19.028 --> 00:04:29.189
Um, but also at the same time, I and connections, and, uh, and I So I take a lot of risks.
00:04:29.189 --> 00:04:40.709
Some of them pay off, some of Uh, yet at the same time, you exist, and I know what my calling is in life.
00:04:40.709 --> 00:04:45.629
And, uh, so from a real macro position, uh, I think that's a good overview.
00:04:45.629 --> 00:04:46.110
I love it.
00:04:46.110 --> 00:04:46.670
And you know what?
00:04:46.670 --> 00:05:05.550
I think what is really cool, you, as we said, for a long time of you develop because, you that, you know, things could Um, but you actually mentioned You know what your purpose is?
00:05:05.550 --> 00:05:16.470
You know what you're calling on And it may have shifted and it may have changed just form because you were always about adding impact, you were always about contributing in different ways and what it was you were doing.
00:05:16.470 --> 00:05:24.910
Um, but then as you kind of move very beginning of all of this, were adding impact there.
00:05:24.910 --> 00:05:38.470
And I what I've noticed in watching your journey, um, a little bit like another proud mama kind of thing because I've watched you kind of grow up into, you know, where you are the leader and the person you are today.
00:05:38.470 --> 00:05:46.028
I think it's always been about though subconsciously or consciously, you are adding impact in every step that you could go.
00:05:46.028 --> 00:05:50.910
Yes, you are building a career, adding impact along the way.
00:05:50.910 --> 00:05:51.949
Tell me about that.
00:05:51.949 --> 00:05:52.550
Beginnings.
00:05:52.550 --> 00:05:54.990
Like so after the accident.
00:05:54.990 --> 00:05:59.860
Um, and you know, that was a you were gone.
00:05:59.860 --> 00:06:00.819
Um, really?
00:06:00.819 --> 00:06:04.860
And through the grace of God, was work for you to do.
00:06:04.860 --> 00:06:13.819
You then had to redefine who you How did you kind of really come Yeah.
00:06:13.819 --> 00:06:14.180
Yeah.
00:06:14.180 --> 00:06:16.778
So, so look, um, for those Yeah.
00:06:16.778 --> 00:06:24.220
So I actually had a major car Only left me with one arm, and my leg also doesn't work, uh, either.
00:06:24.220 --> 00:06:41.420
And I suppose that that was a because I was in the prime of my old, the only breadwinner in a So, um, so we had two young And then even then, a third one came along about a year after my accident.
00:06:41.420 --> 00:06:54.379
Um, but but ultimately, it was That one of my surgeons, he you do live with a disability, using this rather than this.
00:06:54.379 --> 00:07:04.740
And and for me, that really spoke a lot, because one thing I knew that, you know, I'm quite uneducated in a traditional sense, so I've never sat an exam.
00:07:04.740 --> 00:07:06.500
I never went through university.
00:07:06.500 --> 00:07:16.060
I don't have a degree or But I do have this, I don't know, like this, this, this mindset that says anything is possible.
00:07:16.060 --> 00:07:30.420
And so going through that, um, you know, going through that tough time of, uh, physical disability, um, I knew that, you know, I needed to create, um, intellectual property.
00:07:30.420 --> 00:07:39.300
I needed to I needed to find out what were the experiences that I had and what did I learn in that experience?
00:07:39.300 --> 00:07:46.420
And so and so when I grabbed then created IP.
00:07:46.420 --> 00:08:00.699
And then with that IP, I then that out in in books and also in, you know, in in using instrument in speaking about it.
00:08:00.699 --> 00:08:31.060
And so and so, you know, I and the last twenty years now of I've needed to reinvent myself Now, I've seen a lot of people spaces, you know, whether we are in my industry, it's more And I see a lot of sort of one And I see a lot of people in the years and then no longer in it.
00:08:31.060 --> 00:08:38.178
And so, you know, like everything, having that level of longevity requires a level of reinvention constantly.
00:08:38.178 --> 00:08:48.538
But the beautiful thing is, is that just staying true to that inner voice, that inner calling that says, I have to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
00:08:48.538 --> 00:09:15.090
I do see myself as a very simple I don't like getting too And so, you know, as long as I continue to have learnings in to develop intellectual property Um, that's all that really I think, you know, there's a really want to speak into that I people who are listening.
00:09:15.090 --> 00:09:16.850
One is the longevity piece.
00:09:16.850 --> 00:09:20.210
Um, people do, and we see it the It's the same.
00:09:20.210 --> 00:09:23.889
People come, people they go, they don't get the instant success.
00:09:23.889 --> 00:09:30.928
Um, so they, they think, oh, And that instead of actually leaning in and being able to learn.
00:09:30.928 --> 00:09:36.730
But the part also that's important about longevity, which you actually said is reinventing yourself.
00:09:36.730 --> 00:09:43.490
It's actually staying up to And that will look different in different professions like speaking and all the rest kind of thing.
00:09:43.490 --> 00:10:08.769
But really, even, you know, if evolved, I know that you have about, you know, staying up to speakers and the speaking It's the same for people within Is that and in any business shifting, what is changing, kind of thing.
00:10:08.769 --> 00:10:12.769
It's not about the fundamentals We want to make an impact.
00:10:12.769 --> 00:10:15.690
We want to be able to share a message, whatever that might look like.
00:10:15.690 --> 00:10:22.250
However, some of the practical skills around that may evolve or may change.
00:10:22.250 --> 00:10:26.090
And I think that that's what speakers will come in.
00:10:26.090 --> 00:10:37.129
And because Covid was a perfect example in that pregnant pause, people went from being on stages to having to shift into how do I now communicate with people effectively?
00:10:37.129 --> 00:10:46.330
And some did that really well, We haven't heard from them since disappeared in that.
00:10:46.330 --> 00:10:54.730
What was your learnings through Because if I think about the last even five to ten years, particularly out of your speaking career.
00:10:54.730 --> 00:11:00.808
A lot has evolved and changed in ahead of the curve.
00:11:00.808 --> 00:11:01.808
Definitely up with the curve.
00:11:01.808 --> 00:11:07.090
But from my observation ahead of makes that a reality for you?
00:11:09.009 --> 00:11:10.450
Look, um.
00:11:10.450 --> 00:11:11.450
Good question.
00:11:11.450 --> 00:11:18.970
Look, look, I actually wrote a It's, um, and it's my latest book and it's called People Follow People.
00:11:18.970 --> 00:11:36.928
So. So I suppose what that means is, is that, um, is that, like, if we renew our mind, if we become obsessed about, you know, giving value to others, then we have to be someone worth listening to.
00:11:36.928 --> 00:11:55.129
And so and so for me, um, what we've noticed, uh, before in the past, like we're talking twenty, thirty plus years ago, we used to follow brands and companies and logos and government and media, etc., but now no longer we trust that we don't trust it anymore.
00:11:55.129 --> 00:12:03.288
So people trust more human And so what that then means is that we're now living in the profile economy.
00:12:03.288 --> 00:12:20.850
Um, and so it's really important profile, uh, not only get our again, sharing the experiences did we learn through those vulnerable through that?
00:12:20.850 --> 00:12:45.570
You know, as someone that is a And, you know, the word etymology of the word Latin word vulnerability, which And I think one of the greatest ways to build trust with other human beings is by is by showing your scars, and by showing your scars, you're showing to other people that you've been there in the trenches.
00:12:45.570 --> 00:12:51.450
You've you've had the struggle as well, but you've learned something, how to get through that struggle.
00:12:51.450 --> 00:13:05.558
So for me, um, yeah, reinventing say, hey, look, I'm living life I'm going through the struggles times, but I've learned how to Let me help.
00:13:05.558 --> 00:13:07.080
Let me share.
00:13:07.080 --> 00:13:22.158
And so I actually think I've bit of a gift in how to overcome problems, find the formula and Well, I love that, I really do.
00:13:22.158 --> 00:13:25.038
I'm one of your books, of course, is called How to Bounce Forward.
00:13:25.038 --> 00:13:26.519
Um, and that too.
00:13:26.519 --> 00:13:31.639
And I, you know, again, you've always had that attitude of, um, okay.
00:13:31.639 --> 00:13:32.038
Yes.
00:13:32.038 --> 00:13:35.360
We go through hard times, everybody does some more than others.
00:13:35.360 --> 00:13:45.200
And your accident was probably a But you had a choice in that kind of to, to learn there was a reason and that.
00:13:45.200 --> 00:13:46.519
What was that reason?
00:13:46.519 --> 00:13:53.759
How can I actually turn this And your mess became your think is so powerful.
00:13:53.759 --> 00:14:00.120
And I feel for I feel for a long afraid of their mess.
00:14:00.120 --> 00:14:01.440
They've wanted to hide it.
00:14:01.440 --> 00:14:04.320
They've wanted to kind of, you know, step away from it or whatever.
00:14:04.320 --> 00:14:17.558
And yet we're human beings And yet I think by showing how we come through and we overcome, there is always somebody who's going to be able to learn from that lesson.
00:14:17.558 --> 00:14:27.120
And, and I really want to honor you in that space because you constantly made sure that you've done that because life is, you know, yes, there was the accident.
00:14:27.120 --> 00:14:35.080
But like, you know, every one of You know, we've got marriages.
00:14:35.080 --> 00:14:38.720
And like I said, you've been together with your amazing woman.
00:14:38.720 --> 00:14:40.080
She's just gorgeous.
00:14:40.080 --> 00:14:52.519
Anybody who ever gets a chance But like, you guys have been together, like you said, you know, twenty five plus years, um, myself and Mick this, you know, we're forty odd years now and that.
00:14:52.519 --> 00:15:00.558
But in that, that is an everyday So again, you get to be able to live the mess that is relationship.
00:15:00.558 --> 00:15:19.678
You get to be able to, uh, you you also get to model that and The same with raising children, have blessed with three amazing However, there was lots of mess get to be able to teach that.
00:15:19.678 --> 00:15:25.080
Um, and so for you, I suppose you just said there.
00:15:25.080 --> 00:15:30.678
I love how you talked about And I think that that's really agree with you.
00:15:30.678 --> 00:15:33.320
We used to trust the brands.
00:15:33.320 --> 00:15:36.879
We used to trust the people in power.
00:15:36.879 --> 00:15:42.759
And for whatever reason, there eroded over time.
00:15:42.759 --> 00:15:51.308
And so it is really important to, I suppose, show up in a way where people know that they can trust you.
00:15:51.308 --> 00:15:52.028
What is it?
00:15:52.028 --> 00:15:53.470
What have you found?
00:15:53.470 --> 00:16:07.590
That is the best way to be able Because primarily, I suppose A lot of that kind of from a profile perspective happens online, but also happens in person too.
00:16:07.590 --> 00:16:10.950
What do you feel is the best way to make sure that you are doing that?
00:16:10.950 --> 00:16:19.070
If people were thinking, well, Like, how do I, you know, become a person that people want to follow?
00:16:20.110 --> 00:16:21.629
Good.
00:16:21.629 --> 00:16:31.548
Look, um, it's really A few of my facilitators, me for over ten years, and trenches with us.
00:16:31.548 --> 00:16:33.110
They're still volunteering.
00:16:33.110 --> 00:16:46.230
A big part of what we've done actually created a massive Um, and then we then had no other choice but then to create a non-for-profit and it's called Speakers Tribe.
00:16:46.230 --> 00:16:50.028
And now there's tribe gatherings all around the world, which is huge.
00:16:50.028 --> 00:16:58.668
We just recently had a a speakers tribe leadership, um, tribe leader um, retreat in Bali.
00:16:58.668 --> 00:17:11.470
And so everyone not only do they and every month, they still then to come and be a part of a we had over sixty people there.
00:17:11.470 --> 00:17:12.670
It was amazing.
00:17:12.670 --> 00:17:17.150
But my point being is this without vision, the people perish.
00:17:17.150 --> 00:17:18.068
Yeah.
00:17:18.068 --> 00:17:45.430
And and sometimes if we do not following, then are we really And so ultimately, for me, I want to make sure that I create this epic vision that everyone shares together, that everyone can see that possibility, and everyone can then can see their role into into getting us there as well.
00:17:45.430 --> 00:17:50.348
And if that's communicated start a movement or the like.
00:17:50.348 --> 00:17:56.068
You know, I've got a we've now got a database of of over half a million people all around the world.
00:17:56.068 --> 00:18:09.990
And we've got their email We've got like a whole heap of And that's just simply because, you know, there's there's there's so many people out there that are craving that sense of belonging.
00:18:09.990 --> 00:18:25.390
So if I was if I'm a small business owner, a direct seller this, um, what would be two or about increasing your profile?
00:18:25.390 --> 00:18:30.868
So what would that look like to really kind of get into that space?
00:18:30.868 --> 00:18:31.828
Good.
00:18:31.828 --> 00:18:37.150
Uh, no. Know your know your origin story, um, and your conversion story.
00:18:37.150 --> 00:18:52.509
Now, now, the reason why be really key for every single people follow people and if you trust and be likeable and be at the same time.
00:18:52.509 --> 00:19:03.230
You must learn how to share your business story, your own Because, um, we are informed through logic, we buy through emotion.
00:19:03.230 --> 00:19:13.108
So it's really it's really important for you to learn how to emotionally connect with another human being, because information will inform, emotion will transform.
00:19:13.108 --> 00:19:19.470
And I think every human being needs to be in the every leader needs to be in the game of human transformation.
00:19:19.470 --> 00:19:27.710
And so, um, learn your origin basically that chronological you are today.
00:19:27.710 --> 00:19:35.788
And so, you know, when someone says, hey, tell me a little bit more about you, you need a you need absolutely nail that origin story.
00:19:35.788 --> 00:20:03.660
Now as a professional speaker, I might have a repertoire of, stories and each one of these have a thirty second version, a minute version, seven minute a twenty minute version of all And so know your origin story at least, and make sure that you do have like a a polished thirty second version, one minute version, a three minute, twelve minute.
00:20:03.660 --> 00:20:04.500
Yeah.
00:20:04.500 --> 00:20:09.980
The the second story that you call your conversion story.
00:20:09.980 --> 00:20:28.538
So a conversion story is time where a decision was made It's like a sliding doors Now we every single human being It's one of the most powerful stories to influence someone, to take action.
00:20:28.538 --> 00:21:01.900
00:21:01.900 --> 00:21:13.740
It's the stories that allow us It's the stories that allow us to feel, um, and allow us to to catch things and remember things as well.
00:21:13.740 --> 00:21:20.460
So I love that, I love it, I We have an old saying in our profession facts tell, stories sell.
00:21:20.460 --> 00:21:26.019
And it is really about we need to be able to speak to that person's heart and find the problems.
00:21:26.019 --> 00:21:32.578
The best people are problem solvers, so you can't you can't actually get to somebody's problem unless you've built trust.
00:21:32.578 --> 00:21:34.900
And trust comes from your story.
00:21:34.900 --> 00:21:36.140
Um, so I love that.
00:21:36.140 --> 00:21:37.940
Get your origin story down pat.
00:21:37.940 --> 00:21:49.220
Now I'm going to say, guys, it plumber or electrician, whether you're a speaker, whatever, people are interested in people.
00:21:49.220 --> 00:21:55.259
Like Sam has already said, we about people following people.
00:21:55.259 --> 00:22:02.618
They've got to know, you know, that we used to say, they've got you, they've got to trust you.
00:22:02.618 --> 00:22:06.740
That comes from that beautiful origin story and that the conversion story.
00:22:06.740 --> 00:22:16.058
Because the other thing that I think is really important when you share that, when you share your story and you share your conversion story, there's that aha moment where people go, you know what?
00:22:16.058 --> 00:22:17.380
Maybe I could do that.
00:22:17.380 --> 00:22:29.420
They paint themselves into the picture then that you've kind of put out there, you've given them a bit of a blank canvas, but you've also given them belief that they could possibly do the same.
00:22:29.420 --> 00:22:30.420
So I just love that.
00:22:30.420 --> 00:22:31.338
I love that sound.
00:22:31.338 --> 00:22:32.140
That's been amazing.
00:22:32.140 --> 00:22:33.940
That's really, really cool.
00:22:33.940 --> 00:22:42.500
Um, so let's kind of progress a Um, I think one of the things about getting really good at that, though, is also getting good coaching.
00:22:42.500 --> 00:22:46.608
I believe in coaches and Um, I know you do, too.
00:22:46.608 --> 00:23:09.009
And I've got them in my life all And it could be in different whether it's business, whatever So right now for you then, like if somebody is they may not be say they might they might not want to be a speaker, but they definitely want to be able to craft their stories better and share improve how they communicate.
00:23:09.009 --> 00:23:10.210
What do you feel?
00:23:10.210 --> 00:23:19.009
Do you guys, you know, teach Tell me a little bit about what So the tribe really intrigues me other people as well.
00:23:19.009 --> 00:23:45.568
Um, but also because you're people feel supported in what it What does that look like for How can people get involved in Yeah, let's let's first of all, mentoring thing, which I, which You know, we've all heard of the We are the average of our five The company that we keep Yeah.
00:23:45.568 --> 00:23:53.608
And we also do know that ourselves, we we think we can do And we don't need help.
00:23:53.608 --> 00:23:54.650
Right.
00:23:54.650 --> 00:24:02.769
Um, there's a lot of humility um, for someone to put their Yeah.
00:24:02.769 --> 00:24:20.568
And my encouragement to you, if in life, if you want to fast we're teenagers and we wanted to Even all the way through to if when we want to upskill track something or or the like.
00:24:20.568 --> 00:24:28.528
Here is the thing, and bravery and you say, I need help now.
00:24:28.528 --> 00:24:45.769
Secondly to that is this, um, craving this next breakthrough If the breakthrough is financial or if it's, you know, um, fulfillment or if it's influence and impact, We are craving that breakthrough.
00:24:45.769 --> 00:24:50.048
Now, you cannot get a breakthrough without a sacrifice.
00:24:50.048 --> 00:24:50.650
Okay.
00:24:50.650 --> 00:24:57.288
Now the smaller the sacrifice, The bigger the sacrifice, the What's a sacrifice?
00:24:57.288 --> 00:24:59.009
A sacrifice could be money.
00:24:59.009 --> 00:25:00.009
It could be time.
00:25:00.009 --> 00:25:01.288
It could be resources.
00:25:01.288 --> 00:25:15.328
It could be, um, you know, it It could be feeling But the bottom line is this to requires a sacrifice.
00:25:15.328 --> 00:25:16.088
Yeah.
00:25:16.088 --> 00:25:24.130
And then if you're willing to Then you're willing, then you're for a bigger breakthrough.
00:25:24.130 --> 00:25:24.890
Yeah.
00:25:24.890 --> 00:25:30.608
Now, now I now, ultimately, this journey as well.
00:25:30.608 --> 00:25:36.848
The the times that I've been say I don't need help.
00:25:36.848 --> 00:25:40.608
The times that I've grown the fastest is when I'm humble and I'm brave.
00:25:40.608 --> 00:25:51.000
And I put my hand up and I need Um, and this is where, you know, Um, sacrifice is needed in order for you to get that breakthrough.
00:25:51.000 --> 00:25:53.598
Now, ultimately, you know what?
00:25:53.598 --> 00:26:04.558
Um, it took it took us years to But basically, if for those any of our programs, we do around the world.
00:26:04.558 --> 00:26:17.558
Um, and these are on these are from the Middle East through to Singapore, Australia and New five states here in USA.
00:26:17.558 --> 00:26:34.598
So we run in-person events of these countries and cities Now, our programs are more are boutique, meaning we only like in the room we have.
00:26:34.598 --> 00:26:43.720
We have about ten coaches in And um, and as our student, you what we do.
00:26:43.720 --> 00:26:53.400
What we know is that you can You can learn all of that, um, But if you really want to master this thing, you've got to get quality feedback.
00:26:53.400 --> 00:26:58.240
Uh, and the greatest way to get practice side of it.
00:26:58.240 --> 00:26:58.798
Yeah.
00:26:58.798 --> 00:27:09.000
Getting up on stage, getting some quality feedback going, working on that, then getting back up, you speaking, you sharing, you presenting, getting quality feedback and so on and so forth.
00:27:09.000 --> 00:27:23.598
That's how we've orchestrated Um, and it's, um, it's, uh, it The other thing I will share is this when you get really, really good at communication and presentation, you will be asked to speak.
00:27:23.598 --> 00:27:25.358
When you're asked to speak.
00:27:25.358 --> 00:27:34.519
It's a good feeling when you get thousand people or five thousand It's an even better feeling when you're renumerated for that as well.
00:27:34.519 --> 00:27:59.558
So this is so, so for me, being getting paid forty thousand It is it is incredible this So so yeah, my encouragement to you all um, would be upskill this number one skill set on the planet because we are only as good as how well we can communicate.
00:27:59.558 --> 00:28:09.798
There's a few really important that I've just written down here You cannot get a breakthrough And it is so true.
00:28:09.798 --> 00:28:46.558
00:28:46.558 --> 00:28:51.880
You you did you put your money You did do that.
00:28:51.880 --> 00:29:02.278
And I think we can all also relate to the conversation where you said the parts when we struggle the most are when we're the most prideful, when we feel like we've got it, we've got it all sorted.
00:29:02.278 --> 00:29:12.318
And I'm exactly, exactly the Um, and the other thing I would continue to uplevel where it is you go as well.
00:29:12.318 --> 00:29:32.759
00:29:32.759 --> 00:29:46.548
And again, being prepared to be vulnerable, show the scars, um, and learn and be open to going, you know, because oftentimes people can get onto a training or listen to a podcast like this and go, oh yeah, but I know what.
00:29:46.548 --> 00:29:51.068
If you were to pretend that you just pick up something new.
00:29:51.068 --> 00:30:06.190
There's going to be something kind of go, you might have when you're open to hearing think it is actually when it has the, the, the the most.
00:30:06.190 --> 00:30:11.390
The other thing that you said there is the practice part.
00:30:11.390 --> 00:30:14.950
So you talked about, you know, they will get on stage.
00:30:14.950 --> 00:30:19.670
They'll get the feedback, and they'll go do it again.
00:30:19.670 --> 00:30:31.348
No matter what you're doing, whether you are a speaker on stage or whether you were somebody who was in a sales role or anything in between, the only way that we truly learn is from doing.
00:30:31.348 --> 00:30:40.630
We can have all of the book We can do all of the courses, but if we're not prepared to actually put ourselves in the arena to actually get dirty with We're trying.
00:30:40.630 --> 00:30:43.348
We will never truly learn.
00:30:43.348 --> 00:30:48.430
And I have a mentor of mine, um, me this, uh, one time.
00:30:48.430 --> 00:30:49.108
I would kind of.
00:30:49.108 --> 00:30:58.269
I was getting quite prideful reading, and he actually asked He said, how many of them could And I went, what do you mean?
00:30:58.269 --> 00:31:08.430
He said, honestly, though, he said, yes, we can consume knowledge, but when it comes powerful is when you can teach it.
00:31:08.430 --> 00:31:13.470
And it was like, whoa, okay, And that.
00:31:13.470 --> 00:31:16.150
So I was consuming knowledge and yes, I was using some for myself.
00:31:16.150 --> 00:31:28.788
But actually when you are reading something or you're learning something with the outcome that you know, you want to be able to teach this to at least one other person, you come at it from a whole different space.
00:31:28.788 --> 00:31:31.430
You really dig deep into it.
00:31:31.430 --> 00:31:37.269
And that's what I would And that's what I love about Because as they get up to practice on stage, they get the feedback.
00:31:37.269 --> 00:31:43.630
They come back, they get up again there, then two steps ahead of the next person who's coming along.
00:31:43.630 --> 00:31:49.269
And so they've got the wisdom already to be able to then give feedback to that next person as well.
00:31:49.269 --> 00:31:59.230
And so it creates this beautiful practicing learning, going again pay that forward.
00:31:59.230 --> 00:32:04.670
So I just wanted to really pull there was gold in there, mate.
00:32:06.108 --> 00:32:07.308
That was really good.
00:32:07.308 --> 00:32:08.028
Thank you.
00:32:08.028 --> 00:32:19.068
Hey is your is your have you Yes I have I have is um is is learner in your top in your, um things.
00:32:19.068 --> 00:32:19.588
Yeah.
00:32:19.588 --> 00:32:20.750
Yeah, yeah.
00:32:20.750 --> 00:32:27.348
I love learning I love learning, there was a number of years ago and I definitely shifted.
00:32:27.348 --> 00:32:27.868
Really.
00:32:27.868 --> 00:32:29.750
I love learning to teach.
00:32:29.750 --> 00:32:38.900
I do love that because I love Um, however, it just shifted my really, really keen around that.
00:32:38.900 --> 00:32:41.058
Oh my gosh, it's amazing.
00:32:41.058 --> 00:32:53.140
Um, a couple more questions What are you excited about as part of your journey around What is it that you feel that you're excited for in this journey?
00:32:54.778 --> 00:33:00.098
Look, um, look, I've been obsessed about, uh, AI for the last, probably the last nine months.
00:33:00.098 --> 00:33:26.220
And on average, I spend anywhere on AI, um, and and and also, one there in my industry and talking these are the people that um, and I talk to them all And then I'm also now looking at, um, at the impact that AI will make in the personal development self-help space in general.
00:33:26.220 --> 00:33:27.538
And it's fascinating.
00:33:27.538 --> 00:33:34.700
It's it's going to be really, Um, here's something that Are you ready?
00:33:34.700 --> 00:33:40.900
About a year and a half Online Wow.
00:33:40.900 --> 00:33:41.700
Okay.
00:33:41.700 --> 00:33:42.980
Because you know something?
00:33:42.980 --> 00:33:43.858
You know something.
00:33:43.858 --> 00:33:55.980
In a year and a half, you could conversation with me, and I'll I'll sound one hundred percent Every single question I'll do.
00:33:55.980 --> 00:34:01.098
And you would literally you put you on a lie detector test saying, yep, this is this is awesome.
00:34:01.098 --> 00:34:03.058
And it could be my digital twin.
00:34:03.058 --> 00:34:06.940
So just recently I created a webinar for a lot of my top tier students.
00:34:06.940 --> 00:34:10.699
And we and I showed them exactly how to create their own digital twin.
00:34:10.699 --> 00:34:22.579
This is through their own voice, through their own gestures, their own facial expressions, their own speed of speech, um, all the way through to, um, how they formulate their words through to their story, all of that.
00:34:22.579 --> 00:34:30.940
And so now I could show you a be very, very, very difficult actually me or not.
00:34:30.940 --> 00:34:45.340
Me. Now, now, when, when we're superintelligence, which will be It's going to be fascinating, particularly with, you know, um, AI agents as well, because I could I could literally get this ready.
00:34:45.340 --> 00:34:49.820
I could I could create one be the prompt.
00:34:49.820 --> 00:34:50.139
Ready.
00:34:50.139 --> 00:34:50.420
Listen.
00:34:50.420 --> 00:35:24.059
Is it'll it'll say this search, um, all the viral things um, all throughout online for the last two months in direct selling, analyze exactly how they went viral, create, um, create thousands of people of pieces of of my own intellectual property based on the theory of how these were viral and then post it a hundred times every single hour click.
00:35:24.059 --> 00:35:28.300
And I and I and you know something and you know something.
00:35:28.300 --> 00:35:37.018
I believe we're only about a And so the bottom line is out there, they're going to do that.
00:35:37.018 --> 00:35:59.539
And so unfortunately, what I more demand for analog, high And so if you can, if you can, um, finesse and nail that, well, um, it's going to be it's going to be a great it's going to be a good thing.
00:35:59.539 --> 00:36:15.579
And that's something that we're And that back to that in-person trust because people are not if it's real or if it's not kind So, um, yeah, I love it.
00:36:15.579 --> 00:36:27.900
We've been doing a lot of around AI as well, and how it yeah, and everything else and authentically, um, to.
00:36:27.900 --> 00:36:29.860
So I think that's really Excellent.
00:36:29.860 --> 00:36:33.300
Love it, love it, love it, love Okay, a couple of questions.
00:36:33.300 --> 00:36:40.289
These are the rapid fire that I If you had one piece of advice what would it be?
00:36:40.289 --> 00:36:42.730
Study software and coding.
00:36:42.730 --> 00:36:43.489
I love it.
00:36:43.489 --> 00:36:51.489
What's your favorite book right Um. Ray Dalio's on leadership Principles?
00:36:51.489 --> 00:36:52.170
Sorry.
00:36:52.170 --> 00:36:52.730
Okay.
00:36:52.730 --> 00:36:56.329
What song do you listen to when Or do you have a playlist?
00:36:57.610 --> 00:37:04.530
Yeah, I have a playlist and it So it's all the latest worship Awesome.
00:37:04.530 --> 00:37:06.250
Uh, what's your favorite quote?
00:37:06.250 --> 00:37:09.170
The best is yet to come.
00:37:09.170 --> 00:37:10.929
That one, I love it.
00:37:10.929 --> 00:37:12.449
Thank you, my friend.
00:37:12.449 --> 00:37:16.170
It has been amazing, as always It's been too long.
00:37:16.170 --> 00:37:20.170
Thank you so much for the wisdom that you've shared with us all today.
00:37:20.170 --> 00:37:27.929
We will be sharing in the show notes how you can connect with Sam, how you can be following him, and how you can grab his books.
00:37:27.929 --> 00:37:32.090
So again, my friend, thank you, thank you, thank you, appreciate you.
00:37:32.090 --> 00:37:33.050
You're welcome.
00:37:33.050 --> 00:37:33.650
Loved it.
00:37:33.650 --> 00:37:34.329
It was awesome.
00:37:34.329 --> 00:37:35.130
Thank you.
