OVER DEZE AFLEVERING
In this episode of The Thoughtful Entrepreneur, host Josh Elledge interviews Gary Leeman, a professional EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) Implementer with EOS Worldwide. Gary discusses how EOS helps businesses overcome challenges, particularly when they hit a growth ceiling. He shares insights on how many organizations struggle as they scale and how EOS provides a framework for regaining control, improving team dynamics, and ensuring business success.
Gary explains the core areas of EOS, including vision, traction, and building healthy teams. He shares a case study of a home inspection company that initially struggled with self-implementation but regained control after adopting EOS with professional guidance. He emphasizes the benefits of working with an EOS implementer to ensure proper adoption, accountability, and lasting impact.
The episode wraps up with Gary's "help first" philosophy, where he focuses on understanding clients' needs before recommending EOS, offering free workshops for those interested. Gary highlights the importance of an abundance mindset, encouraging consultants to prioritize helping others over competing, fostering strong client relationships and lasting success.
Gary Leeman was raised by his grandparents, who ran a successful truck repair business. Although he always wanted to run his own business, his family’s unspoken rule was to "go to college." However, after experiencing the challenges of running a business, including skipping his own paycheck to make payroll, Gary understood the tough, risky, and sacrificial nature of entrepreneurship.
Despite some success in corporate roles, Gary never gave up on his dream of owning his own businesses. He attempted several ventures, including one that earned him a patent and another that aimed to help wheelchair users, but many of his ideas didn’t take off. His breakthrough came when he joined forces with three others to start a business. While the experience was exciting, the chaotic nature of entrepreneurship was taking a toll on his health and family, and the business struggled.
Everything changed when Gary discovered and implemented EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System). Within a year, his company turned around, growing 5X in revenue and doubling profits within 18 months. Now, Gary is passionate about helping other businesses implement smarter, more efficient strategies to grow stronger, smarter, and faster.
