Inside Ohio Northern University: Where Musical Theatre Students Find Their Stage | Stage Door Podcast

What makes Ohio Northern University's Musical Theatre program so special? We headed to Ada, Ohio, to find out, and discovered a whole lot more than we expected!

In this episode of the Stage Door Podcast, we're joined by Tim, Head of Musical Theatre at Ohio Northern University, along with students Marley and Vivian, for a fun, honest conversation about what it's really like to study musical theatre at ONU.

We talk about everything from auditions and productions to the friendships, faculty, and professional opportunities that make this program stand out. With small class sizes, personalized training, and the flexibility to pursue multiple interests, ONU is giving students the chance to develop their talents both onstage and behind the scenes.

And they're bringing Broadway experience right to Ada! We discuss the guest artists, Broadway performers, professional directors, and masterclasses that connect students with people actively working in the theatre industry.

But what really caught our attention was the community. These students aren't just competing for roles. They're supporting each other, taking on new challenges, and getting hands-on experience from the moment they arrive.

If you're a high school student considering a future in musical theatre, a parent researching college theatre programs, or just someone who loves seeing the next generation of performers find their way, this is a conversation worth watching.
