OVER DEZE AFLEVERING
In Episode 4 of Real Chat, we step inside one of Santa Barbara’s most iconic architectural properties — the Pistachio House.
Joined by local Jeff Shelton aficionado Tish, we explore the story behind the home, the origins of Shelton’s distinctive Spanish Revival-inspired style, and how the Pistachio House became the first of what is now the growing Fig District downtown.
From handcrafted metalwork by David Shelton to ceramic details and pistachio motifs woven throughout the design, this mixed-use property blends artistry, history, and functionality in true Shelton fashion.
Whether you’re an architecture enthusiast, a Santa Barbara local, or simply curious to “Spot the Shelton” around town, this episode offers insight into the craftsmanship and collaboration behind one of the city’s most recognizable design voices.
