OVER DEZE AFLEVERING
What's the one thing you keep resisting, even though you know it would make your life better?
Last week we talked about the things you've been putting off. This week we're going a layer deeper, to what you're actually resisting. In this short Purpose Pop In, I challenge you to name the one thing you know would make life easier if you stopped fighting it and just did it.
The ChallengeThink of one thing you know you're resisting. It's more than putting it off. You keep moving it, you know it would improve your life, and you still can't quite bring yourself to do it. There's usually a reason underneath, and you may not know what it is yet. That's okay. Naming the resistance is the first step toward clarity.
Here are a few places overwhelmed moms often find resistance:
- Home and household: getting your house truly in order, not just one clean corner. I share my own story of resisting this for years, even after I clearly heard God tell me it was time.
- Money and paperwork: paying bills, opening the mail, or tackling the pile you keep walking past.
- Health and appointments: scheduling that doctor's appointment you've been avoiding.
- Hard conversations: making the phone call or delivering delicate news to someone who needs to hear it.
- Motherhood milestones: starting preschool, sending your child to kindergarten, or that first haircut, which is a big emotional moment for a lot of moms.
- Fear underneath it all: sometimes what looks like avoidance is really fear, and that deserves a gentle look.
Resistance keeps us scattered, stuck, and running on empty. It quietly drains the energy we need to pursue the things we actually want. Eckhart Tolle reminds us that when we let go of inner resistance, the circumstances around us often change for the better. That's why I keep inviting you to take one small, honest step toward change. Facing what we resist is how we start to feel like ourselves again and stop just surviving our days, mama.
Final ThoughtsYou don't have to solve it now. Just name it. Write down one thing you know you're resisting that would make your life better if you did it. We're in the middle of a challenge series, and every week is about stepping out of your comfort zone and moving forward together. Join me Thursday, when we dig into why we resist and how facing it changes everything.
