OVER DEZE AFLEVERING
Clemson football has recruited talented offensive linemen under Matt Luke, so why is the offensive line still struggling? Is this a player development problem, a coaching problem, or a failure by Dabo Swinney to prepare the roster?
On today's Locked On Clemson, Morgan Thomas breaks down why Clemson's offensive line problems go much deeper than one coach.
After losing Blake Miller, Tristan Leigh, Walker Parks, and Ryan Linthicum, Clemson entered the season knowing it had to replace a tremendous amount of experience. Yet through five games, the Tigers have allowed 17 sacks and 42 tackles for loss, including six sacks against Miami.
The question isn't just whether Clemson has recruited talented players. It's whether those players were ready to compete.
🏈 IN TODAY'S EPISODE:
- Why Clemson's offensive line succession plan failed
- Is Matt Luke actually developing his recruits?
- What the struggles of Braden Jacobs, Ronan O'Connell, Easton Ware, and others reveal about Clemson's evaluations
- Why communication issues are different from losing physical matchups
- Why Dabo Swinney deserves accountability for roster construction
- How Clemson needs to approach the transfer portal moving forward
Clemson can still improve this season, but beating the teams remaining on the schedule cannot be the only standard. The Tigers have to build an offensive line capable of competing with the best programs in college football.
QUESTION OF THE DAY: Who deserves the most responsibility for Clemson's offensive line struggles: Matt Luke, Dabo Swinney, player development, or roster planning?
Thanks for making Locked On Clemson your first listen of the day!
