My third conversation with soprano saxophonist Jane Ira Bloom

Welcome to the latest episode of Harmonious World, in which I interview musicians about how their music helps make the world more harmonious.

It was a great pleasure to chat for the third time with Jane Ira Bloom, who has just been named Soprano Saxophonist of the Year by Downbeat magazine. Her latest album is Songs in Space and you can listen to our other conversations here (January 2021) and here with Allison Miller (December 2021).

Thanks to Jane for allowing me to use tracks from Songs in Space alongside our conversation.

Don't forget the Quincy Jones quote that sums up why I do this: "Imagine what a harmonious world it would be if every single person, both young and old, shared a little of what he is good at doing."
