OVER DEZE AFLEVERING
Why can someone else’s happiness feel like something is missing from our own lives? And how do we work on jealousy when we can’t simply switch off the feeling?
In this episode of Dialing Bnei Brak, Charlie Harary and Rabbi Moshe Levi explore the connection between emunah, simcha, and genuine giving. As Sukkot leads into Hoshana Rabbah, they explain how wishing others well becomes a practical way to strengthen our trust in Hashem.
In this episode:
- Why someone else’s success doesn’t mean you’re falling behind.
- How true giving begins with what you want for another person.
- Why simcha goes deeper than being in a good mood.
- How our words and actions can feed jealousy or help us work through it.
- The practice of blessing someone with more, even before you fully feel it.
- Why working on our middot takes repetition, patience, and effort.
A practical takeaway: When jealousy comes up, pause before commenting or criticizing. Bless that person with more goodness, and repeat it whenever the feeling returns.
