00:00:43
Speaker 3: I am merely bow He's the great ze Hello, Hello, indeed brother by the.
00:00:49
Speaker 2: Way, Gibbe just that and was giving us like some notes like ready, ready, and it reminded me of one of my favorite films of all time, Yep, Forgetting Sarah Marshall when he's doing the score and the guy's like, you know, he said, I got Almond Brothers tickets, like just come on, and he's like messing everything up, but it's not like give me, you'd be good, And like I think they call this a d R Sessions. Absolutely, it'd be a really good like Rid the ADR guy. Yeah, that movie's great. I love that movie.
00:01:17
Speaker 4: It's really good. I love really end is a little issu, but it's I don't they do land the plane with it?
00:01:25
Speaker 2: I think when he does his play, his plays on the play.
00:01:29
Speaker 4: Is such an abstract thing to think that that was like the dream and that somehow that was going to be a hit, you know what I.
00:01:34
Speaker 2: Mean, Like it's such an observed van helsing I swear to the Lord, I will slay him.
00:01:40
Speaker 4: It's a great, great song. It's it's the best Russell Brand has ever been. He's so great. Joan is unbelievable in it. Uh even get uh ant Man making a cameo. All that's very strong. Yeah, and Siegal's good me Lacunas is throwing one hundred and seventy, so it all works.
00:01:58
Speaker 2: I have had, as you know, the opportunity to meet and hang with Mila through my friendship with Ashton. Yeah, and the first time that I like hung out with her. All I wanted to talk to her about was Forgetting Sir Marshall, and she like loved it. She said they had so much fun making that movie. They were in Hawaii for a couple of weeks, had the best time. And then I tucked. I had watched the behind the scenes, which I tell everybody to watch. Watch the Little Diary so the cliff jumping scene, she really like jumps off in one of them, yeah, and is swimming around and like gets her neck cut really bad by some coral. Oh and so then they have to like change how they do some of this stuff because she had this like gashneck. But she said it was the most fun. Absolutely loved it. Seagull is incredible. I mean it's just it's great, and it's based on a true story. It's based on Seagull's life, Like Seagull getting dumped, yeah, going there, the fight where you know the guy, the local guy is going to like knock him out or whatever. That's really the local guy who who did it was gonna knock him out in real life, and he found that guy and put him in the movie in the same role. So like a lot of it is based very much on Seagull's actual life.
00:03:11
Speaker 4: It's pretty crazy how many great movies or series. You think about the Original Office, I mean, that was Ricky Gervais's life and then he put it in. You think about l D and Seinfeld, like they kind of took their thing and put it. Sometimes like write what you know and what you know is your life, and especially if you're creative and you're great. There's there's humor in it. It was filmed at Turtle Bay Reservoir, which is a Wahoo buddy mine. That's where he went on his honeymoon. I've never been over there. I had to have been close when we were. When we were there a couple of years ago, we did the the Jurassic Park and all of that, oh hours where they filmed that, and that was over on that north shore of a Wahoo, So we had to be pretty near it.
00:03:47
Speaker 2: You had to be you had to be right near that. I mean, the movie was so it's a maze. It's one of those things think about. Like you mentioned so you had seagull Kristen Bell. Yeah, that's right, You've got Why am I blinking on all the snow? You just said Russell Brand, Russell Brand, And I think like that's like to me, that's Apex Russell Brand.
00:04:08
Speaker 4: It's the best he's ever been. Yeah.
00:04:10
Speaker 2: Jonah Hill in just like a total side role. Bill Hayter, Oh, that's right. Hater is in it. Like what you see like what you see like, yeah, hater is in it. I mean, and then you have in terms of some of the the girls that he go. You know, he ends up trying to rebound with that girl that's married to June. Her name is June, she's married to She married to Apatow.
00:04:36
Speaker 4: Oh she might be Oh yeah, yeah she is she Yeah, that's that's Apatow's wife.
00:04:40
Speaker 2: She's in it. There's so many like it's the amount of people that are actually in that movie is in credubt. Paul Rudd, as you mentioned, has a nice little cameo. Paul Rudd has pretty much in the in the behind the scenes the documentary as like one of the dorkiest. There's one thing that it's just it'll forever be a blemish on his record as far as I'm concerned. You have the guy who was on thirty Rock as the page Kenneth. Oh yeah, he's in it.
00:05:04
Speaker 4: Yeah. They crushed the casting. Oh my good, rushed the casting. It's also a reminder of God, I wish haway he was closer totally because it's great, But my god, is it a long ways?
00:05:15
Speaker 2: So far?
00:05:15
Speaker 4: It's so far.
00:05:17
Speaker 2: I really think going and I think that's for like Europeans who come here. I admire their ability to do it because I think when you go six hours west. It's just so hard to ever get back on clock.
00:05:28
Speaker 4: I think it's harder coming back than it is going too. Going to It didn't take us long when we went going there.
00:05:35
Speaker 2: You never you said you were always getting up at five in the morning or whatever.
00:05:39
Speaker 4: Yeah, but I mean I'm up at six here, so it's not that much of a difference, but I mean six there is noon here.
00:05:45
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:05:45
Speaker 4: So all we did was stay up really late day one. So you have to do you have to fight it, just fight it. And we just stayed up really late and then we uh the first morning it was the NCAA tournament, and we woke up at like four o'clock in the morning, and so the next day we just fought it again. It took two days of fighting it and then we were good. It actually was on the way back, like my wife and kids got annihilated by it, really just annihilated, like they could not get back on clock.
00:06:09
Speaker 2: I typically don't have a problem going east going west to your point, Yeah, three hours. You just gotta stay up the first time, and then you're six is a real one though, six is real, Yes, six is very real.
00:06:17
Speaker 5: Yea.
00:06:18
Speaker 2: The flying through the night when you go East. That's what ends up happening. It's always a red eye of some Yeah, and that's that's always an interesting and interesting thing. Yeah, A Sir Marshall though absolutely holds up absolutely Do you still have never watched that behind the scenes thing?
00:06:32
Speaker 4: No, where's it on? Is it on?
00:06:34
Speaker 2: It's always I was you know, it's a DVD Blu ray. Man on the Blu Ray. There's a physical media. It's a documentary. I I'm gonna see it. I bet it's bet. I bet wherever it's I'm gonna find it. And yeah, I bet you wherever it streams, I could find it.
00:06:47
Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, I bet.
00:06:49
Speaker 2: I don't know though that you don't really get those extras. I have it. I own it on Amazon Prime. That's like an absolutely and it's not. And no, you don't get all those apps. So you probably need to buy the Blu Ray. I think you might need it.
00:07:01
Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm sure it's on Blu Ray. People are getting back into that now here. People talking about that, like they have Blue Little Blu Ray collections and they watch things in four K Blu Ray and all this.
00:07:10
Speaker 2: Well, yeah, and he's a Kyle Branther's like some silver box edition of something in a four K ultra HD and he's like, I will own.
00:07:17
Speaker 4: This that he's got to have. He's all jacked up about. Yeah, No, I think, yeah, that'd be good. That's that movie's great. I don't think NBC's seen that one yet. See there's a treasure trove of things that I got to get him to see. Yeah. Yeah, and that's that one is certainly one of them as oh god, oh it's an America's Cup. It's an America's Cup.
00:07:37
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right, well done, well done done rail the black patent on those, that's incredible. As you, as you're probably aware of, the NFL dot com is starting to release their Top one hundred players Yes of twenty twenty six is voted on by the players themselves. And before we get into this, I have asked a former player about this before because I was curious.
00:08:00
Speaker 4: I said, how did you do you remember the process of this? And he goes, yeah, it was after practice. They handed me a piece of paper and they said rank, fill it out yep. And he goes, that's how it happens. And I said, oh, so not a lot of thought too it. He goes, no, I did it in about ten minutes, and I think that that's probably a part of it, but I did want to I want to play a little game with both of you.
00:08:18
Speaker 2: That's why name recognition is so important on those are like people so critical.
00:08:21
Speaker 4: Yeah, So I want you to guess. Do you either, I'm guessing neither one of you. Have the list from last year in front of you. I do have the list from last year in front of me. Who do you think was I do?
00:08:34
Speaker 2: Do you?
00:08:35
Speaker 4: I want you to guess on who the number one player in the NFL last year was voted? Who was voted the number one player in the.
00:08:41
Speaker 2: NFL based on the twenty twenty Based.
00:08:43
Speaker 4: On the twenty twenty four season, it should have been Lamar Jackson.
00:08:49
Speaker 3: I'm gonna say they probably point Josh Allen.
00:08:53
Speaker 4: Okay, Lamar is two, Josh is three.
00:08:59
Speaker 3: Is Mile one.
00:09:01
Speaker 4: Miles is not one. Miles was eight. Mahomes Mahomes is not one. Mahomes is five. This was a year ago. Stafford Nod was not No, Nope, it's a it's a good illustration. It's a good illustration of how much things change in terms of the way that we perceived guys versus in just a year.
00:09:27
Speaker 2: That's why I said it's I don't think he'll just I'll give you the position and then you can probably get it.
00:09:33
Speaker 4: Not Justin Jefferson. Justin Jefferson was nine. In fact, Justin Jefferson was the second ranked receiver.
00:09:39
Speaker 2: Jamar Chase he was four.
00:09:41
Speaker 4: He was a running back.
00:09:44
Speaker 2: I had the two thousand yard season.
00:09:45
Speaker 4: Sure, Saquon Barkley was the number one overall he did. It wasn't even a two thousand yard season.
00:09:51
Speaker 2: That year.
00:09:52
Speaker 4: He ran for eleven forty seven touchdowns, at another two hundred and seventy three and two in the air, according to Football Reference.
00:09:58
Speaker 2: No, yeah, yeah, but that's his twenty twenty five stats. His twenty twenty four stats. He had the insane year. I'm sure of it.
00:10:07
Speaker 4: You're right.
00:10:08
Speaker 2: Two thousand yards yep. So he was number one. He was number one on that list. He he went has He's basically the next year.
00:10:13
Speaker 4: Half of half the production. But he was number one on that list.
00:10:16
Speaker 2: Least, that's insane.
00:10:17
Speaker 4: Yeah, he was number one. So it went Barkley. The top ten from last year was Barkley, Lamar Josh Jamar was four, Mahomes five Borough six, Derrick Henry seven Miles eight, Justin Jefferson nine, Patrick Certan ten. That was your top ten one year ago, just on the twenty twenty four season. So who's our best shot? Who on our team makes this list? Who should make this list? You have a roster in front of you, You have a roster in front of us. We can't claim Miles anymore, although he did it.
00:11:02
Speaker 2: He was based on this with the Browns. He was with us. Miles can make it.
00:11:09
Speaker 4: Miles is going to be in the top ten again, for sure.
00:11:11
Speaker 2: It might be he might be number one. Who knows, uh, Miles, Denzel Swassenger, Carson Swessinger, because it just like we won't claim Verse. Verse will be on there, yes, and then I'll say outside shot, outside shot, Harold Fannin.
00:11:31
Speaker 4: I think that's really outside.
00:11:33
Speaker 2: I do too.
00:11:34
Speaker 4: Jared Verse on this list last year, was fifty three on this list. So that kind of even further illustrates how good he you know, for because sometimes I think people don't realize just how good he was. Oh why didn't you get three ones? Well you got two ones and you got him, So that's a big part of it. So he was fifty three on the list last year. How many guys did we have on this list last year? In totality we had Miles at once or Miles at eight? Did we have any more guys last year from twenty four season?
00:12:08
Speaker 3: Or was it just milest just Buttonio and Ward didn't make it.
00:12:13
Speaker 2: Baker, Judy was on this Judy made it late.
00:12:17
Speaker 4: Judy was the late guy.
00:12:18
Speaker 3: Yeah, he was number eighty two.
00:12:22
Speaker 4: Okay, there is there is. Yeah, that's it. So just those two were the only two to make it a year ago. So yeah, I guess we'll we got Miles because it happened in our uniform. But yeah, I think that's that's probably it.
00:12:35
Speaker 3: I you know, I think there are a number of guys this year that are poised to make a little run at that list.
00:12:43
Speaker 4: I mean it's going to be tied to wins and losses too in a big, big way.
00:12:48
Speaker 3: But I think Quinn Sean, if he stays healthy.
00:12:52
Speaker 4: Yes, he has the talent to do it for sure. Denzel So, Denzel was Pro Bowl last year. One pick. He's five time Pro Bowler. I mean he's he's quietly putting together like a ring of honor. Brown's career definitely is you know, yeah, definitely. It's hard to believe he's been here this long, but he's really putting one of one of those together.
00:13:16
Speaker 2: Definitely Carson's stacking.
00:13:23
Speaker 4: Yeah, he's your best chance to be the second guy this year.
00:13:25
Speaker 2: I think Flasenger, Yeah, I think so. Malik Collins was on his way. I don't know if he would have if he would have gotten it, but he was on his way. Tyson Campbell is probably deserving. I'd put him on it as an outlier with Harold Fannon, but that's it. I mean, that's the end of That's the end of the list. Delpit would be on that probably in that you know, outlier region. There you go, I found it by the way you did. He found the you found the thing.
00:13:52
Speaker 4: There you go. All right, So well, yeah he's not tracked out. I will, I will, I will. Yeah. So those are probably the ones on it. Who's going to be number one this year? Stafford won the MVP, but I don't think it'll be him.
00:14:05
Speaker 2: Stafford, Miles, Miles has a shot really when he really does, I think he really has a shot.
00:14:12
Speaker 4: So where did Stafford? I mean Stafford's not even last year, Stafford wasn't even top thirty.
00:14:20
Speaker 2: That's outrageous.
00:14:24
Speaker 4: I don't think No, he was fifty ninth last year on this list. Okay, you want to have a little fun, you want to get nuts, kids, Let's get nuts. Here are the quarterbacks on last year's list who were ranked ahead of Matthew Stafford, Lamar, Justin, Herbert Baker, Mayfield, C. J. Stroud obviously Lamar and all the guys, Jayden Daniels, Jalen Hurts, Jared Goff. Jared Goff was fifteen on this list last year. Fifteen, Yeah, but Stafford's fifty nine. So then then and then Burrow, Mahomes, Allen, and Jackson, like eight quarterbacks including Baker, Jalen Hurts, Jayden Daniels all ranked ahead of Stafford last year and Daniel twenty four was incredible, he was, But like, this is the top one hundred players. I mean, how what's the criteria?
00:15:14
Speaker 2: They try to base it on that season?
00:15:15
Speaker 4: On that season only allegedly that's what they're hoping for. But that's pretty ridiculous that you that you'd have all of those guys ahead of Stafford last year.
00:15:23
Speaker 2: What kind of technology doesn't know that I'm a human yet? On Pro Football Reference.
00:15:27
Speaker 4: The Pro Football Reference is exactly what what doesn't think you are all right?
00:15:31
Speaker 2: Here's Stafford twenty twenty four. Stafford in sixteen games he threw thirty seven sixty two to twenty touchdowns eight. Yeah, I mean by comparison to some other people, that is, that's not exactly lighting it up. Jared Goff, for example, in the same year, was seventy two point four percent forty seven hundred and thirty seven and twelve.
00:15:53
Speaker 4: It's better than C. J. Stroud, who's twenty spots ahead of him. Well, that's it's better than Bak who's ahead of him.
00:16:00
Speaker 2: Is it better than Bake two years ago? Definitely better than Shroud?
00:16:04
Speaker 4: Well, yeah, I have Strouds ahead of me. He was sixty three percent thirty seven twenty seven, twenty and twelve.
00:16:09
Speaker 2: Bake was seventy one percent forty five hundred and forty one and sixteen. Led the league six years pan.
00:16:16
Speaker 4: Didn't he have a year?
00:16:17
Speaker 2: Yeah?
00:16:18
Speaker 4: Do you know that.
00:16:18
Speaker 2: Baker Mayfield, here's an anomaly for you. Baker Mayfield has had one, two, three, four five seasons with twenty six or more passing touchdowns. He has never had a season with thirty or more passing touchdowns. He's had one with forty one, but never thirty to. He's never been in the thirties.
00:16:32
Speaker 4: Never thirty to something. Jeez, that's incredible. Gotta be fun to see where our guys end up in this. Obviously, Miles will be very well represented. 00:17:31
Speaker 2: Very happy now to be joined by the Browns quarterback coach Mike Pajakiin and Mike, first time that we've gotten to chat. So welcome to Cleveland, even though you've been here for quite some time. Getting back with Todd Monkin, How did this all come to be? Because you spent a little bit of time in the NFL there with Todd, but you've been a coach for thirty years, the majority of which at the collegiate level. How did you tell us the story? How'd you get a call and how'd you get here?
00:17:53
Speaker 6: Sure, I've known Todd.
00:17:55
Speaker 7: We work together twenty sixteen to twenty eighteen for three years in Tampa. I've often I'd been coaching up to that point for twenty plus years. Yeah, I'd been an offensive coordinator to college level for eight of those years, and that Tampa was my second NFL stint at the time, and my experience.
00:18:14
Speaker 6: Around coach Monkin was phenomenal.
00:18:15
Speaker 7: I often say that for me it was a re education in football in the three and four years. I worked there for four years. I was with Coach Monkin for three. I learned so much that when I went on to become an offensive coordinator back at the college level, use so much of the teaching that I had learned from him. So I've always respected him. I've always kept in touch with him, and you know, we had conversations about Baltimore when he was there and it didn't work out, and we've.
00:18:45
Speaker 6: Just always kept in touch.
00:18:46
Speaker 7: And when he called me here again, it was a no brainer for me because I knew I'd have another opportunity to just learn tremendously. So here I am. This is my thirty second year of coaching. Part of what I love about the profession and part of what I've love about working for coach Monk and specifically is that I'm still learning, you know, so it never gets boring and it gives me an opportunity to continue to grow thirty plus years into the profession.
00:19:08
Speaker 2: Oh, let's go back to Tampa. What was it, because you mentioned there that you know, there's so much that you learned from him. What was kind of the crux of what you learned that you then took and applied to yourself as the college OC.
00:19:19
Speaker 6: So couple things.
00:19:22
Speaker 7: Number One, I had been a quote unquote spread offensive coordinator for years at the college level, and we were much more multiple, okay, with an emphasis on explosives, with an emphasis on matchups.
00:19:37
Speaker 6: That was the first part of, you know, schematically what I learned.
00:19:40
Speaker 7: Okay, he is such a genius as it relates to wide receiver play and route distribution and timing and spacing. So the other part of what I learned was just the finer details of the pass game, how to buy time for the quarterback, how to how to speed things up, how to create separation. It's just it's been That was my biggest takeaway in Tampa that I then incorporate into my teaching, and it's been good to get back to that.
00:20:13
Speaker 2: So when you go from being an offensive coordinator where you are responsible for everything on the offensive side, and then you get back to doing what you've done at other points, which is be a quarterback coach, what do you like about when you get to kind of just drilling because the reality is in this game and now I'm not saying that other positions are important, but this is a quarterback league. You go as your quarterback goes typically in the National Football League. So what do you like about getting to be in that room?
00:20:39
Speaker 6: Well, you're exactly right.
00:20:40
Speaker 7: Your world shrinks tremendously and you go from managing a staff and offensive staff of however many guys you know, ten, ten to twelve guys, right, and managing a unit in the college level of fifty plus guys and a quarterback.
00:20:54
Speaker 6: Room often of five or six guys.
00:20:56
Speaker 2: Right.
00:20:56
Speaker 7: And so you take that world and now you shrink it down to three guys. What it allows you to do is drill down hard on mechanics, on teaching. You know, I often felt when I left the University of Tennessee in twenty fourteen to go to Tampa Bay in twenty fifteen, that world shrunk for me there.
00:21:20
Speaker 6: And what I realized was I.
00:21:25
Speaker 7: Almost felt like I had been doing the disservice to the quarterbacks I had been coaching as an offensive coordinator slash quarterback coach. I think the game and coaching staffs have evolved so much now where there is at the college level walk around coordinators and quarterback coaches. But it allowed me when I went to Tampa to really you're searching for every there's video evidence of everything you want to show, and you have the time and the ability to search for those clips that teach every little point that you want to make as it relates to footwork, eyes, ball, security, movement in the pocket, you name it, and and that that was a big part of what I like about shrinking that world. And it allows you to focus on three to four guys and help them improve over the course of time.
00:22:15
Speaker 2: What are you a coach who has you know this is the way I want the feet? This is this because it times up with the routes? Or do you kind of work with what feels more natural or what guys have had success within the past.
00:22:25
Speaker 7: I think again, once you understand that the two most important aspects of the past game are timing and spacing.
00:22:32
Speaker 6: I say that all the time.
00:22:35
Speaker 7: Once you understand the rhythm of your footwork and how it relates to the timing and spacing elements of a particular past concept.
00:22:42
Speaker 6: There's not too many ways to do it.
00:22:44
Speaker 2: Now.
00:22:44
Speaker 7: There may be a couple and you know, I will have a conversation. I talk about our room. Our quarterback room is conversational. You know we have you know coach Baker, Matt Baker who's our assistant quarterbacks coach in there? You know, Ian Colse are our quality control guy. Those guys have been around the block. Travis Wicher is oftentimes sitting in our room. And then you got Deshaun Watson, who's you know, played how many years in the league. And you've got Dylan Gabriel who's played at multiple spots at college and and and been around and Shadoor who's done the same and so we can have conversations about, hey, what's the best way to do it. We're going to get on the same page and make sure it works.
00:23:22
Speaker 2: All right, Let's go into that room and just kind of I'd imagine one of the things that you know, you mentioned you were with Todd back there in Tampa and him now you know he's been with Stetson Bennett and then he's with Lamar Jackson. I mean, it could not be more different, and yet has had success with both. And then within our room we have guys with very different skill sets. I would say, as well, how has it kind of been getting in there and feeling out, Okay, here's what you do best. How do we accentuate that and balance that throughout? This is the offense that we're trying to run as well.
00:23:49
Speaker 7: Yes, one of the things that I learned from coach Monkin, I heard him talk about balance, okay, and and he's always he's emphasized that it's about players, not plays, right, Yeah, and it's the truth. But he also talks about balance, not necessarily being balanced between run and pass, but being balanced about how you distribute the.
00:24:16
Speaker 6: Ball amongst the playmakers.
00:24:18
Speaker 7: Okay, So if your playmakers like like they were Baltimore last year with with you know, a running back that's gonna wear gold jacket when it's all said and done, then.
00:24:27
Speaker 6: You become a little more inclined towards that.
00:24:29
Speaker 2: Sure.
00:24:30
Speaker 7: You know, in Tampa we had, uh, we had Mike Emmons, pat to Jackson, we had you know, we had some receivers, some really good ones and and and jamis right, and so we.
00:24:44
Speaker 6: Were more in the drop back world, right.
00:24:45
Speaker 7: And so he's done a great job of adapting it to the skill set of our quarterbacks and of of the perimeter players. So we're still feeling that out a little bit. But you know, but his, uh, his scheme is always gonna have the adaptability to do that.
00:24:59
Speaker 2: So you know that Todd had been here before, and then you go through your quarterback resume of guys that you had coached, and obviously Josh Dobbs at Tennessee Jamis as well spent they spend time here. For those guys that you talked to about just the Cleveland experience at all, not much.
00:25:11
Speaker 6: Not much.
00:25:12
Speaker 7: I have great fondness for both those guys.
00:25:14
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:25:14
Speaker 7: I've often said quarterbacks become part of the family. Yeah, in every way, like around my wife and children, and you know, I have a fondness and affection for them that that you know, that out last time, you know, and so we I still exchanged Christmas cards with.
00:25:32
Speaker 2: Josh's parents, you know, and it's awesome.
00:25:34
Speaker 7: Yeah, and Jamis, you know, will text and talk every so often. I didn't talk with them specifically about the Cleveland experience because I wanted a freshly, you know, I wanted to make my own decisions. But those are two guys that I love and admired early.
00:25:47
Speaker 2: One of the things in your room right now is the challenge of you know, it's one thing. For example, in Tampa, Jamis was the number one overall pick, like this is the guy, this is the franchise, and now we've got Deshaun Watson, who's a three time Pro bowler, and you know, go back to twenty twenty, would have been considered one of the top quarterbacks in the league. Now, injuries and other things have happened, but you know what's in that ball of clay. You've seen it at this level. Schador' is the guy who showed a lot of flashes last year as a rookie. Dylan did a good job managing the game last year as a Rick, and then he bringing Taylor Green, who's kind of a unicorn, and I know they're probably some mechanics things we got to work out with him, but boy, what a piece of clay that is as well. Let's start with Deshan. How do you kind of approach a guy that's been so successful, seems to be very rejuvenated when I talked to him, and is excited about obviously working with you and this staff, and likes this offense, likes what he sees. But a guy that you know has done it, and a guy that you're hoping to get back to the point where in twenty twenty he was considered, you know, as good as it gets.
00:26:39
Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean Deshaun's done a great job.
00:26:42
Speaker 7: You know, everyone knows about his athletic ability, everybody knows about his arm talent. What has struck me in the brief time that I've spent with him is his ability to process information, which is the most keportant element of being a quarterback. I think people take for granted that that is a strength of his because you know, that's hard to evaluate, it's hard to see on film, but he does.
00:27:06
Speaker 6: He's played a.
00:27:07
Speaker 7: Lot of football in different schemes and so he's able to translate it quickly into what we're doing. But he He's done a great job in preparation, and he does a great job at the line of scrimmage.
00:27:19
Speaker 6: So he does have all.
00:27:20
Speaker 7: Those positive traits to talk about. But he's been a pro. That's the other thing that I really admired about working with.
00:27:27
Speaker 5: Him is.
00:27:30
Speaker 6: All these guys have done a great job.
00:27:31
Speaker 7: I come in every day and we're we're not holding back the reins here like we're We're throwing a lot at him, and they're handling it phenomenally. You know, at the line of scrimmage, schematically, you name it, we're putting it on their plate. With the idea that we want to see how much they can handle, and every one of them is doing a great job handling it all.
00:27:49
Speaker 2: And how are the young guys doing. Shador and Dylan Abs are in the league, and the talent.
00:27:52
Speaker 6: Is great, great.
00:27:53
Speaker 7: You know, I'll speak to Shador and Dylan who have been around the all off season, you know, being pros. You know, they come in and they've studied every night and morning, and they come in with an understanding of what we're about to do on a daily basis. I've been impressed as heck with both of them, Okay, with their work ethic, with their football knowledge. You know, I didn't know what to expect from either one of those guys. Yea, uh and and I'm blown away.
00:28:19
Speaker 5: You know.
00:28:19
Speaker 7: I think, uh, Shador has has really good vision of the field. You know, he'll say things in practice sometimes I'll be like, what what did you get there? Or I'll see something on the field that doesn't resonate with me, and then when I go back and watch it on video, you know, he might be throwing the deep post versus post safety look and in what is maybe a jog through type of tempo. But then sure enough I see that the post safety sat on the crosser and get the post over the top. And so his vision with his work ethic has been has been good to see.
00:28:53
Speaker 6: You know.
00:28:54
Speaker 7: Tailor, I'll speak to him a little differently coming in. You called him a lump of clay. Yeah, okay. One thing that that I recognized during the combine interview process and then again in a virtual interview that that we did with him after the combine that he's highly intelligent, you know. And and his ability to learn and learn quickly is very good.
00:29:17
Speaker 5: You know.
00:29:18
Speaker 7: He's played for a guy that I worked with that coach Monkin, and I work with in Dirk Cutter. Yeah, boys, okay, And and so he's had high levels of coaching both at Boise and at Arkansas. So it's it shouldn't be surprising to me that he comes in with an extremely firm foundation.
00:29:35
Speaker 2: This is going to be in the minutia, But this is something I'm curious about. So I'll ask it with a guy like Taylor who has kind of an elongate of what we would call throwing motion, like it gets back here and you know you watch when they kind of draw that seat right, you want that tight? See how hard is that to to get from here to here.
00:29:51
Speaker 6: It's not easy. It's not easy.
00:29:53
Speaker 2: You know, a lot of muscle memory.
00:29:54
Speaker 6: It's a lot of muscle memory.
00:29:55
Speaker 7: I often say, you know, if we want to get into the physics of it, for every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction, and often the longer release is a function of a longer action on the front side, whether it's being your left arm or your left leg, you know, an overstride or or wasted movement on the left side of the body. So, uh, he works hard at it. You know, he's had a lot of he can whip it. Yeah, he can whip it. He's got lots.
00:30:22
Speaker 6: Of more in talent also, so it's been fun to.
00:30:24
Speaker 5: Work with him. Yeah.
00:30:24
Speaker 2: I bet that is because you are coming. Like I said, you are coming, and he mentioned you wanted to keep a blank slate here. You kind of come into that in your room in many ways. And it's gonna be fun to see kind of as you work with them, these guys develop and you know, we get to the point where we do have a starter and it's all systems go. I think it's gonna be a lot of fun. I gotta just say, my in laws went to Central Michigan. So okay, it's to be around a fellow Chippewa and you coach some of the great Travis Kelcey, Antonio Brown when you're with Cincinnati Kelsey of course, although Jill Royer did break I don't know if he's told you this, already broke his single season receptions record there at Cincinnati. Right, very cool, just kind of see it kind of in this in this role. It's been great. Talcket too. I could talk to you for hours. I know you have more things to do. Gotta get rady for Brown.
00:31:01
Speaker 6: There's important than talking to you.
00:31:04
Speaker 2: I will tell you that.
00:31:05
Speaker 5: I will.
00:31:05
Speaker 2: I will disabuse you of that notion right now. Just value that is not true. There are more important things than We're glad you're doing them with our quarterbacks. Coach with Jakin, thanks so much of time, and good luck.
00:31:13
Speaker 6: Appreciate you having me all right, thank you all right?
00:31:15
Speaker 4: Really good stuff with coach. What were your impressions of what he brings some of the positives personality wise to fit with a room that is as at the very least as unique as any other in the NFL. I liked him.
00:31:26
Speaker 2: I liked talking with him. Obviously, he has been around the game for a very very long time. He has been with Todd Monkin previously. He was a quarterback coach in Tampa Bay when Todd was there. Has been kind of all over college. Look at this guy, guys have the time of his life. At Central Michigan. He was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach on the Central Michigan teams that had Antonio Brown and I think it was Dan Lefever's that was his yeah, when they were like lighting it up. So he's been around kind of a lot of fun offenses very much, very much liked his time with Todd and thought he said, you give Todd Monkin good wide receivers, you're going to have a very good offense. And I think that's exactly what the Browns attempted to do here in this draft, which you love to see. But he's I think, very methodical. He's been an offensive coordinator at the collegiate level many many times over. He was in Cincinnati's the offense coordinator when Travis Kelcey was there.
00:32:28
Speaker 8: Yep.
00:32:28
Speaker 2: He's been around some of the like the top players in the league in a college perspective when they weren't at big time colleges. Kelsey was at Cincinnati, Antonio, Brown, Central Michigan, so a lot of experience. Just absolutely loves the game, and I think he'll be good. He's at so far. I know that the quarterbacks enjoy working with him. He's enjoying that and hopefully it will lead to a lot of success. But somebody who's been you know, he started off coaching in nineteen ninety six, so thirty years in the game that he has done. That was a college quarterback himself, and now here he goes fifty one years of age and reday to rip here with the Cleveland Browns.
00:33:05
Speaker 4: I think the all the college experience really is beneficial for this specific room because, with the exception to Shawn Watson, who obviously hasn't played competitive football consistently for a while, you're dealing with all kids, man, I mean, and the other thing you're dealing with is you're dealing with a variety a wide variety of skill sets. These guys have very little in common other than that they all play for us, but the way they go with their business is very, very different. So I think it's it's smart to have a teacher in there because I think a lot of teaching needs to be done, not just with the two second year guys, but obviously with Taylor Green and the rookie to try to teach him up and coach him up and to find some more things with him. So yeah, I like him. Really good job out of you on the interview there. Coming up next, we're going to rip some packs kids. Let's have a little fun. Listen to Cleveland Browns Daily. 00:35:12
Speaker 4: Yeah, So g man, before we ripped these packs, what would be like the home runs?
00:35:18
Speaker 9: It looks like the helix insert, the let's go insert, and the fanatical inserts.
00:35:25
Speaker 4: Which players would be like ideal in that?
00:35:27
Speaker 5: Oh?
00:35:28
Speaker 8: I mean the best place is that Lamar and all that.
00:35:30

00:35:40
Speaker 4: Forward and Shadur I bet yeah, Hunter Travis Hunter those guys, yep, Carson Sweestinger would please me? Did I go first? Or did you go first last time?
00:35:52

00:35:52
Speaker 8: I think you went first last year. I'll go first.
00:35:56
Speaker 4: All right, doctor Z has opened it up.
00:35:58
Speaker 5: There we go.
00:36:00
Speaker 2: I've got just a booty cheeks regular. When I say that, I'm just regular. No comment on the place. Reg Christian Kirk also like out of the box. That have an unnatural bend in these cards is very disappointing.
00:36:13
Speaker 4: Apparently they could be sorted out with the case pretty quickly. All right, So you got a Christian Kirk? Is it what you said?
00:36:19
Speaker 2: Yeah?
00:36:19
Speaker 4: All right? Number two that's got a reflective piece to it, does it? And I don't know, No, this is just.

00:36:44
Speaker 8: That's the one. We got the fannin in last.
00:36:47
Speaker 2: Yea yeah, yeah, and then I got a Xavier Watts. What a very nice rookie. Season six interceptions I got a Xavier Wats rookie card.
00:36:54
Speaker 4: So your best one. There's the Carl loftis I suppose I don't know the rookie Xavier Wats rookie car all right, all right.
00:37:02
Speaker 8: I would guess the Watts is the better card there.
00:37:04
Speaker 4: Okay, okay, are you opening with us too or just us opening? I'm just you're okay, you're you're you're the arbiter of truth. Yes, you're the on budsman, I swear to God, and I just the last. On the back of this, I think I've gotten a T. J. Watt card in every single one of these I've opened, I get a tea, I get so many Steelers.
00:37:21
Speaker 2: This is a Xavier Wats. Ricky is a dollar twenty nine.
00:37:24
Speaker 4: There you go, huge, crushing it, all right, I'm opening up with a bass Rashaan Gary. Okay, quick story on Rashan Gary. He chose Michigan over Ohio State Urban wanted him desperately, but it u I think this was actually I can't remember if this was Brady hoax win or if it was Harbaugh's win, but nevertheless, now it was Harba's Rashaun Gary number one. We've got another one. It's another bass. It is a bass. Jamiir Gibbs. I tell you what, these have a nice feel to him. I know there's a little bend, but they have a really nice feel to him. But a base, Jamiir Gibbs.
00:37:58
Speaker 9: Yeah, we haven't had tops Chrome in a while. We said it last time we opened one of these boxes. But very very happy that tops Chrome is back. Yeah, hobby, they look good, they look good. Yeah, they're thick, they feel good. I got a Rashee rice che rice bass in. This just a four card pack. Uh, this one is a reflector t J.
00:38:18
Speaker 4: Watt. It's got all sorts of reflectivey stuff on it.
00:38:22
Speaker 8: Oh there you go?
00:38:23
Speaker 4: Is that there's a lot going on with this one. How do I know what this is?
00:38:26
Speaker 2: So this looks like a this is a ray wave?
00:38:28
Speaker 4: An me that thing. Let me see that box. I can tell you what this is. Let me see that thing. Let me see it.
00:38:33
Speaker 2: This is a ray wave car Loftus. That says, here's ten dollars, So that's.
00:38:38
Speaker 4: Look for red, white, and blue refract refractors. That's not what this is.
00:38:42
Speaker 2: Tjatt.
00:38:44
Speaker 4: This's got to be a helix. It's got a helix. Yeah, fanatically it's got to be a helix insert.
00:38:54
Speaker 5: T J.
00:38:54
Speaker 4: Watt helix insert.
00:38:57
Speaker 2: Let me see it.
00:38:59
Speaker 8: The internet in this building. I mean, it's a lot of labors in the world.
00:39:05
Speaker 2: It's hard. It's I don't see one on here that looks just like that. Is it a light board?
00:39:12
Speaker 4: No, it's it's like completely like three d uh. Let me see t J.
00:39:20
Speaker 2: Watt And there's no Is there a color around the outside, No, it's all hologrammed up.
00:39:28
Speaker 4: Top's chrome.
00:39:29
Speaker 2: Oh, this is it right here? This looks like it. Yeah, it's like maybe a fifty buck one depending on.
00:39:41
Speaker 9: I think that is a prism refractor bo prism REFRACTORYEP.
00:39:45
Speaker 4: What does that do for us?
00:39:46
Speaker 8: It says it's a dotted three D like reflective surface. Would you say that's that's accurate?
00:39:52
Speaker 4: Give me one second, dotted three D like yeah, and it moves there you go. It's shame that it's TJ.
00:40:00
Speaker 2: That's a nice pool though.
00:40:02
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:40:04
Speaker 2: It's got like a mirror ball, like a mirror ball effect to it.
00:40:07
Speaker 4: Yeah, there you go. That's what I was looking for.
00:40:11
Speaker 2: Why wouldn't it just say on the card what it is?
00:40:13
Speaker 8: That's three dollars?
00:40:14
Speaker 4: Really? Yeah, it's a shame.
00:40:16
Speaker 2: That's all the carloftis ray I saw ten? Is that not accurate?
00:40:22
Speaker 5: No?
00:40:22
Speaker 8: I think that's probably accurate.
00:40:24
Speaker 2: Okay, I feels like that should be more more than this. All right, here we go Pack number.
00:40:27
Speaker 4: TAC number two for doctor Zine, Doctor Zine, Doctor Zine.
00:40:31
Speaker 2: Oh, we've got something here. Oh, come on, I feel like let the kid have a poll. I feel like there's something in here.
00:40:37
Speaker 4: So far one zero me? Or does did win the first pack? I think won the first pack? You're any way to your first dub first doll one zip in a three car.
00:40:47
Speaker 2: I can get out, I can get to two zip.
00:40:49
Speaker 4: Then you win.
00:40:50
Speaker 2: You're really excited about something in there? Which ran in Cook's Regular. Okay, looks like a poor print on that one as well, the Forrest Buckner Regular.
00:41:00
Speaker 4: There's something at the end there that I think I like the look.
00:41:03
Speaker 2: I know it's some gangs. There's we got a red white and blue who is it?
00:41:07
Speaker 4: Be special?
00:41:09
Speaker 2: At least we've got a bon Nick's Future Star.
00:41:13
Speaker 4: Okay, come on, do it.
00:41:14
Speaker 2: And we've got I'm not looking, I can't see. Oh Ashton genty Oh, red white and blue, Red white and blue Rookie. So that would have been a rookie in RC Red White and Blue Jack. Doctor J is excited. We're going to Sizzler boys.
00:41:39
Speaker 4: There's no way I can come back from this.
00:41:41
Speaker 2: I feel like this might be.
00:41:42
Speaker 4: That's probably the best card we pulled by far, not close in the.
00:41:46
Speaker 9: I'm do not see in any do we get a hundred bucks for this. I'm not even I'm not seeing prices on this card.
00:41:51
Speaker 2: You're not seeing prices on it.
00:41:54
Speaker 8: Okay, it looks like raw raw ungraded ten bucks?
00:41:59
Speaker 5: What for fifteen?
00:42:03
Speaker 8: What if?
00:42:04
Speaker 2: So? If that's not then what is it? Says?
00:42:07
Speaker 5: Twenty bucks?
00:42:08
Speaker 4: Come on? Hey, hey, he.
00:42:13
Speaker 2: Come on, So how are you ever if you can ever pay for the packs? If that's not the best one.
00:42:19
Speaker 4: That one had to be. Yeah, it's twenty bucks, all right.
00:42:25
Speaker 8: I wonder what it would be graded, though.
00:42:28
Speaker 4: Not much more. All right. By the way, there's no way I'm coming back from that. And I'm telling you I get steelers in every pack, every single pack.
00:42:36
Speaker 2: It's a highly sought after This is supposed to be a highly sought after car. He came.
00:42:41
Speaker 4: He doesn't seem like it. Kyle Dugger doesn't seem like it. Fantastic, Oh my God, what could suck worse than a Kyle duggart stacked on a Kyle Dugger.
00:42:52
Speaker 8: No, way two of them.
00:42:53
Speaker 4: This one's just got waves.
00:42:56
Speaker 2: Oh that's like the Carl loftis.
00:42:57
Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't think anyone's gonna I mean a Kyle Dugger. I mean you think about that. That's the pack. This is a poo poop platter. We got a green one here, a green one. Unfortunately, it's a green Joe mixing. So I'm sure that's worth sixty cents?
00:43:13
Speaker 2: Who green refraction? That looks pretty good.
00:43:16
Speaker 4: No, I don't think so, it's a mixing. It's worth eight cents. You're way more optimistic than I am. And then we got a Princely Uman Mialen rookie card. What kind of a three D rookie card?
00:43:29
Speaker 8: Princely human mealen?
00:43:31
Speaker 2: Yeah, ole miss Joe mix in green refractor? Is a numbered pick your card? Back up?
00:43:38
Speaker 8: Is that numbered?
00:43:39
Speaker 2: Is it numbered?
00:43:41
Speaker 4: They all have numbers? What do you mean?
00:43:43
Speaker 8: Is there a shiny number on there?
00:43:45
Speaker 2: Oh?
00:43:45
Speaker 4: Yeah, there is? What number sixty four of ninety nine?
00:43:48
Speaker 2: Yeah, they're he might raw ungraded fifteen to twenty five.
00:43:56
Speaker 9: Oh oh, the Joe Men numbered card that's an unnumbered pole out of ninety nine out of a blaster.
00:44:02
Speaker 4: Sixty four out of ninety nine have a number. I don't know. There you go. Is that the new best card in the packs?
00:44:09
Speaker 8: I think it is.
00:44:09
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's our best card in the packs, the number packs. And now it's one one one, red white and blue.
00:44:15
Speaker 4: I can't believe that.
00:44:16
Speaker 2: I mean, you can't say in the box, look for the red, white and blue refractor, like that's something cool. And then and then and then having get beaten by a Joe Mixon Green, Joe Mixon Green, Theo Johnson, reg Lamar Jackson, reg Roma Donsay says refractor on it. It says it's like Aroma Dunsay.
00:44:48
Speaker 4: It's like, oh that's an interesting one. That's a cool one.
00:44:51
Speaker 8: It's kind of got a different Oh that's neat.
00:44:55
Speaker 2: Yeah, oh that's really neat. And then uh oh man, I got it. Now what do you got? I've got a Seth Hennigan. Oh yeah, quarterback of the Jags that I've never ever heard of.
00:45:10
Speaker 8: You went to Memphis, respect Seth Andigan.
00:45:12
Speaker 2: Rookie card, just regular. So this Roma Duneesday is like a nineteen seventy five.
00:45:18
Speaker 4: Dollar ninety nine tops card dollar ninety nine. If you would have got the blue version of that at sixty bucks.
00:45:27
Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, all right, if this last pack doesn't be that, I weep for you.
00:45:32
Speaker 5: Yeah.
00:45:32
Speaker 8: It looks like about seven bucks for that of Dounesay card, which.
00:45:35
Speaker 2: Is higher than right out of the gates.
00:45:38
Speaker 4: And by the way, just wear the ease.
00:45:40
Speaker 2: Yeah, just where this Tyler Tyler Aljeer in the Very Unhappy Now went to Arizona. Thought he was going to be the guy. And then they went out and they drafted Jeremiah.
00:45:49
Speaker 4: Love Tyler Aljeers base followed by a Jalen Hurts.
00:45:54
Speaker 8: Base better quarterback than Matthew Stafford for the.
00:45:59
Speaker 4: Earlier in the show, A Legends of the grid Iron Ladies and Gentlemen, The Legends of the grid Iron Adrian Peterson.
00:46:07
Speaker 2: We looked those up for some reason. They weren't as cool as we thought they were.
00:46:10
Speaker 4: And then they should have been worth a lot. I should have been make those worth a lot, like three of them, yeah, and it should be numbered. And then a this is I'm guessing this is a red refractor Andrew Van Ginkel. Oh, there you go. That's exciting. It's got a football card, kind of base to it or a football background. I don't know what it is.
00:46:32
Speaker 2: That is a football Andrew.
00:46:36
Speaker 4: Andrew Van Ginkel.
00:46:39
Speaker 2: Football refractor?
00:46:40
Speaker 4: Yeah, what it is. It's kind of a football refract. That one a Badger fantastic. By the way, this is how tops Chrome describes Andrew Van Ginkel. A relentless player.
00:46:53
Speaker 2: Andrew lies on strong instincts to excel as a pass rusher and run stopper. He also shines in coverage. Van Ginkle started star during the twin During twenty twenty four, his first year of the Vikings, he locked up his first Pro Bowl selection, finished seventh in the NFL Defensive Player the Year voting, which I would not have had thinks with league best two picks returned for touchdowns. The Proud the Pride of the Wisconsin Badgers and Rock Valley, Iowa.
00:47:14
Speaker 9: Adrian Peterson about a dollars back of a football card could make anyone sound good?
00:47:18
Speaker 4: I really can. How about the who do you think they hire to write those all?
00:47:22
Speaker 2: AI?
00:47:22
Speaker 4: Now, I don't know.
00:47:23
Speaker 2: Go ahead, I mean I think you want Wait no, we don't. Neither one of us deserves it, honestly, Actually you do? You got that beautiful one. Here, I'll open the pack and hand them over to your magic touch.
00:47:35
Speaker 4: See what we can do here. Last pack coming Aaron Jones, Aaron Jones, Sr. Bass, Dawson Knox Base. Now this is a full base pack Colton Miller Base, DJ Giddon's Base. That may have been the worst four pack of cards that have ever been opened on this program history. Read those names that.
00:47:59
Speaker 2: Might what a last Colton Miller, Dawson Knacks easily. Aaron Jones.
00:48:12
Speaker 8: By the way, I think by next week we're gonna be working in the dark.
00:48:15
Speaker 4: What do you got going on in there?
00:48:16
Speaker 8: Well, we have one light left.
00:48:19
Speaker 4: Who needs illumination? You don't need it all?
00:48:22
Speaker 2: Right, there you go, the two best cards by far or you're Joe Mixon numbered mixing numbered. And then the red, white and blue. Yeah, the genty which seems that you can't put on the box. Look for the red, white and blue and then have it be kind of booty to me.
00:48:42
Speaker 4: The the on a gent gent should be the win, the winner.
00:48:45
Speaker 8: We'll send them all into p S A and we'll expense See.
00:48:48
Speaker 4: Yeah, there you go, you can do that. See if we can come up with some wins there. Second hour of the program. It's a mailbag edition of the program. This is from the NFL Network ESPN. Wherever he's doing the work, I think he's doing it for both. He's a great Daniel Jeremiah. So here was his premise. You got twelve spots, a quarterback, offensive playmakers, three quality offensive line three, pass rusher two, defensive playmaker three. Gibbe has tasked us with how many NFC only teams meet this criteria?
00:50:07
Speaker 2: You ready never been more ready, born, born ready.
00:50:12
Speaker 4: In the NFC East, we start with the Dallas Cowboys. I always go east to.
00:50:16
Speaker 2: West, east to west. Seems fair. All right, we start with the west, north, the south, the Dallas Caallas Cowboys. All right, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Deck Prescott. Yes, playmakers, you've got Ceedee Lamb. Yep, you've got George Pickens.
00:50:32
Speaker 4: Pickens.
00:50:33
Speaker 2: And then it's a little your stretching. I want to say for Javonte Williams Jake Ferguson, but in your top two are very good. I think you're elite. And what did Javonte Williams do last year? I bet he might have had a thousand yards.
00:50:51
Speaker 4: I mean, we loved him at Denver before he got hurt. He was just said to be a total stud there. Jake Ferguson just married the Cavender girl last week. Does he count is an elite playmaker?
00:51:02
Speaker 2: Javonte Williams last year ran for twelve hundred and eleven twelve eleven touchdowns and average five yards of carry.
00:51:08
Speaker 4: Done you're in. So they're in on that. Yeah, okay, quality offensive line you need three. Yeah, they've got that.
00:51:14
Speaker 2: I would think.
00:51:15
Speaker 4: So, yeah, they're good.
00:51:16
Speaker 2: On the Y've got Tyler Smith. Yeah we'll say sure, Yeah, okay, fine, pass rushers, you need two Rashawn Gary.
00:51:30
Speaker 4: You ever Sewn Gary?
00:51:31
Speaker 2: They ever Seiuan Gary? Have Quinn Williams.
00:51:33
Speaker 4: Yeah, they're good, you're there, you're fine.
00:51:35
Speaker 2: Defensive playmaker three, I don't know that they have three. Dron Bland. You could say that, Kenny Clark.
00:51:44
Speaker 4: Or can we bet on Caleb Downs being a defensive playmaker?
00:51:47
Speaker 2: Yes, Caleb Downs, Malie Hooker, Deron Bland, Yeah, I'd say yes. I'd say Dallas fits the criteria.
00:51:55
Speaker 4: So yes, Caleb Downs is in a thirteen Dallas, Dallas is in in. That's fine, okay.
00:52:00
Speaker 8: Uh.
00:52:01
Speaker 4: Next up in the NFC East, the g Men.
00:52:06
Speaker 2: The New York Football Giants quarterback Nope, Nope, So then no.
00:52:11
Speaker 4: Yeah, no they're not there, Philly, they get a yes. I just feel like that's we don't even really need to we.
00:52:17
Speaker 2: Got to let's just look at the Giants real quick. So playmaker side of it, they would have Malik Neighbors. Yeah, I think they really only have one playmaker. I don't know their line well enough to say. And then defensively, defensively.
00:52:31
Speaker 4: They're pretty loaded.
00:52:32
Speaker 2: They've got Brian Burns, r Vel Reese, and they have another pass rusher. Don't they.
00:52:39
Speaker 4: Duel Carter? They have like three first yeah, yeah, yeah, no. The defensive playmakers there there that side on spades, just quarterback and quarterback. That's a big one and we'll see if he can get there.
00:52:50
Speaker 2: So Philly has got Jalen Hurts playmakers. You've got Sake Barley, You've got Smith.
00:52:57
Speaker 4: And Lemon and of Dallas Goddard. If you want, however you want to do it, they got it, and they got it in line definitely, offensive lines.
00:53:06
Speaker 2: Pass rushers yep, Jonathan Grenard do they really and Nolan Smith? I mean, do they really have a second.
00:53:15
Speaker 4: No, But I that one is more like it's not I think like when you say like two pass rushers, I just I just think you really just seed a pass rush? Yeah, you don't really need I don't know how you.
00:53:28
Speaker 2: Defense. Yeah, their defense is plenty, good Cooper to John putting on Mitchell and defensive playman Campbell, Tarik Woolan. They got Drake Woollen from Seattle.
00:53:38
Speaker 4: Yeah, they're set up. Okay, so Washington, my hunches these guys will be before I look at it.
00:53:46
Speaker 2: Jade and Daniels offensive playmakers.
00:53:49
Speaker 4: McLaurin.
00:53:52
Speaker 2: And that might be the end of that gets thin, I forgot.
00:53:55
Speaker 4: Yeah, they don't have Traylon Burkes and Antonio Williams are their other two receivers. That ain't it? Tight end there, ain't it? And running back they're not great.
00:54:05
Speaker 2: Merritt really got Rashad White. Now they got Jerome Ford. Is there our guy, but I don't call him that as much as we love him.
00:54:13
Speaker 4: No, they're probably not it.
00:54:15
Speaker 2: Defensively, they've got a daff A Oway, Chase on Doron Payne.
00:54:24
Speaker 4: I think defensively they're fine.
00:54:26
Speaker 2: Sunny Stock Yeah, I think the Stills a nice player. So far. We've got Dallas and.
00:54:31
Speaker 4: Phillip Allison Philly is that that's it. That's the North. We go to the NFC North.
00:54:36
Speaker 2: The NFC is loaded.
00:54:37
Speaker 4: It really is Chicago Bears be.
00:54:40
Speaker 2: There going to be a Green Caleb Williams. We've got Luther Burden, Roma Donsa and Colston Loveland and Riches. There the line, they've got Toney Brad Berry, Darnell Wright. Sure, they're good pass rushers, Montese Sweat. Yes, I I don't they.
00:55:00
Speaker 4: Really have two of them now, but I think they're past rush again. This is kind of like the one we just did with Philly, where like they might not have like one guy or two, got two dudes. But yeah, collectively, I think they're fine. Right.
00:55:13
Speaker 2: Yeah, and then defensively, Jalen Johnson, their first round pick, Devin Bush t J Edward. Yeah, I think the Bears are in.
00:55:20
Speaker 4: Is this the most optimistic the Bears have been about the Bears since like the eighties. Yeah.
00:55:24
Speaker 2: They have a very difficult schedule.
00:55:26
Speaker 4: Yeah, in terms of I know, they played for a super Bowl with Rex Grossman, but like, no, I guess they had a year. They had a couple of the Cutler years where it felt like they were really close. Yeah, and they got to an NFC championship. Yeah, all right.
00:55:38
Speaker 2: Dutois Detroit quarterback. Yes, weapons Jamison Jamier, I'm on Rod, it's pretty good. Loaded plus Sam Laporta plus blah blah blah. They're offensive line, You've got Pinney Sewell, they're good. They drafted Blake Miller in the first round. YEP, they're good there. Defensively Aiden Hutchinson and that's kind of unproved around him, but hopefully, you know, they think Derek More will be good. And then defensively, yeah, they got playmakers.
00:56:05
Speaker 4: Yeah, playmakers Yeah, Detroit, Detroit, so we got four already. Green Bay.
00:56:12
Speaker 2: I bet Green Bay is going to be Yes.
00:56:14
Speaker 4: It seems like they would be a green light to me.
00:56:16
Speaker 2: Green Bay is gonna have Jordan Love yep. And then you're gonna have Josh Jacobs, Jayden Red Golden Watson, Tucker Craft Yeah, weather good, offensive line good good. Uh. Defense, pass rushers You've got Micah Parsons, Lucas Van Nest, Miah Parsons, Cooper McKinney. Yeah, they got play Green Bay makes Green Bays in is this? I mean that's three out of four in that division that have it that the FC is loaded. Man West West is even more all right, Minnie soa quarterback, I don't think so. Weapons Jefferson, Addison, Hockinson, Aaron Jones, sure Line, Darris Au, Donovan Jackson, Brian Yes or pass rushers Dallas Turner and Van Ginkel.
00:57:06
Speaker 4: That's guy who the pack we opened to.
00:57:08
Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think they're there. On defense so now they're.
00:57:11
Speaker 4: So so far we have Dallas, Philly, Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay. As we head to the.
00:57:16
Speaker 2: South south south could be all right. So Atlanta Atlanta quarterback, I mean to his led league in passing, it's a stretch, but I think I can. I can get there. I would put it as a yellow. Yep, a yellow. But yeah, no, our whole weapons are Fresher Drake London almost too many weapons, quite honestly, Pitts Beijon yep. Loaded defensively on the pass rush, they definitely, especially since it looks like Pierce is gonna play Yep. They've got the pass rushers and then they have the playmakers Jesse Bates, Watts, Terrell just in the secondary alone.
00:57:54
Speaker 4: Yep.
00:57:54
Speaker 2: Yes, absolutely so Atlanta Atlanta's in.
00:58:00
Speaker 4: Kind of Yeah, I think they actually are, because you know, for them, it was always like they're the results do not equal to some of their parts. No, it didn't make sense.
00:58:08
Speaker 2: That's what they're trying to fix.
00:58:10
Speaker 4: Yeah, I think maybe they did all right.
00:58:11
Speaker 2: The Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young, sure, weapons McMillan, Chuba Hubbard's been very good for them.
00:58:23
Speaker 4: I think they're there.
00:58:24
Speaker 2: Weapons wise, xaviorly get Cocher.
00:58:26
Speaker 4: Eh, maybe not. They need a little bit more.
00:58:31
Speaker 2: I think they need a little bit more when the weapons. Yeah, Lions got Hunt, It's got a Kwango, it's okay. Line's okay. Defensively, the pass rushers, I don't.
00:58:41
Speaker 4: Think they're there.
00:58:42
Speaker 2: But no, I don't think they're there.
00:58:43
Speaker 5: They're not.
00:58:44
Speaker 2: They're out. The New Orleans Saints are out. We don't even need to go through them. Tampa Bay, although the Saints are going to be fun with Etn Jordan Tyson, Chris a Lave, Yeah, defense, the Chase Young. They've got cool a guy named kool Aid on their team.
00:59:05
Speaker 4: That's I love good kool Aid, Mchinistry.
00:59:07
Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, Tampa. Tampa's got quarterback Baker, which is kind of in the true Yeah, he's in the too a world a little bit. You've got Abuka Godwin, god Lucky Irving. You're good there good, not loaded, no, but solid offensive line.
00:59:24
Speaker 4: They're not gonna make it. They're they're a yellow I think.
00:59:27
Speaker 2: Pastures, Ruben Bainey, they drafted Vita bay Tony, and I think the yeah, probably not, probably not.
00:59:36
Speaker 4: Probably just Alama's the most team in the division.
00:59:39
Speaker 2: Is will they win at this point. We just don't know.
00:59:43
Speaker 4: We just don't know.
00:59:43
Speaker 2: Arizona. We don't have to do although they make the weapons Marvin Harrison, Michael Wilson, and Jeremiah love Tree McBride, but we don't have to do them.
00:59:51
Speaker 5: All right.
00:59:52
Speaker 4: The rest of these are all going to be greens. But I just see which one of these we like best?
00:59:56
Speaker 2: All right, Rams quarterback, Yes, weapons, Adams new Kupah kyne Korum loaded, loaded line is certainly good enough.
01:00:06
Speaker 4: Yeah.
01:00:07
Speaker 2: Defense, Now you've got Miles Garrett on one side and on the other. Playmakers, you've got Fisk, you've got Landman played well for them, Trent McDuffie, they brought, Watson, they brought Yeah, of course the Rams.
01:00:20
Speaker 4: Is this the best before we look at the next two? Is this the best roster in the NFL? Most balanced? Best? It's pretty good. It's really good. I mean they're the favorite for a reason, so obviously.
01:00:37
Speaker 2: That's pretty good.
01:00:38
Speaker 4: Yeah. There's not a whole lot of issue you could have with them.
01:00:42
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's pretty prettig all right. Niners quarterback, Yes, weapons.
01:00:49
Speaker 4: Thank god, Oh my god, they added Mike Evans and Christian Kirk. And Christian Kirk, I forgot they added Mike Evans.
01:00:55
Speaker 2: Yeah, Mike Evans, Pearce All, Kirk, Kittle, McCaffrey, caffrey.
01:00:59
Speaker 4: Yeah, this is the most if they're all healthy. Is this the most talented offensive weaponry Kyle's had in San Francisco? The other one would be like the Deebo McCaffrey, Ayuk Kittle.
01:01:14
Speaker 3: Now that one's probably what is Kittle coming back?
01:01:17
Speaker 4: Good question.
01:01:18
Speaker 2: Achilles late Ton just was very good though when he had to play.
01:01:22
Speaker 4: This isn't probably as good as the one that I just mentioned, but it's really good. It's a lot of weapons. Yeah.
01:01:28
Speaker 2: And then defensively they've got everything you want.
01:01:31
Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, defensively.
01:01:34
Speaker 2: Nick Bosa and Mike Williams, who was their first round pick, Greenlaw Warner.
01:01:41
Speaker 4: Yeah, they're good. Is there is there? If there is a pressure meter in San Francisco with all of this, where is it?
01:01:53
Speaker 2: I think it's tie, But it's not crazy because it's you know, you're winning a lot, you're winning every single year you're in the mix, and just happened to be in an insane division and your division is produced, your division has been represented. I think we went through this in that like for almost a decade in the either the NFC Championship game or the Super Bowl. Oh yeah, yeah, there was the Philly Washington year where it was neither.
01:02:20
Speaker 4: It was two years ago. But other than other than that, it's been one of them in it.
01:02:24
Speaker 2: Or both or two of them in it. Yeah, yeah, two of them in the NFC playing each other. It was a Rams Seahawks. It was Rams the year the Rams won the Super Bowl. It was Rams Niners in the NFC championship. Uh, Seahawks. They've got the quarterback obviously with Sam Darnold now weapons Jackson Smith and Jigglebai Cooper Cup, Jadarium Price who they just drafted. Their line is excellent, elite pass rushing excellent.
01:02:49
Speaker 4: And then Lawrence was there, Marcus Lawrence.
01:02:53
Speaker 2: They had him last year. He was on the team last year. Yeah, Mark Lawrence, Leonard Williams, Jaron Reid, Byron Murphy, Dante Fowler, Studs no WUSO.
01:03:03
Speaker 4: Yeah, they're loaded even worry. Yeah, they're loaded.
01:03:05
Speaker 2: Loaded. So Seattle so in Witherspoon Seattle one, two, three, four, five, six seven. Defensive when you look at it, like defensive, nine of the sixteen teams in the NFC, in the AFC, it was much lower than that. Let's rank the nine. Okay one on roster alone. Okay one, Rams, I think so just because of weighted quarterback.
01:03:28
Speaker 4: But I think Seattle's right there.
01:03:30
Speaker 2: I think Rams, Seattle, Yep, Chicago. I was gonna say, Niners Philly.
01:03:41
Speaker 4: Niners is a little aged though still good. They need health Mike Evans, they need him to stay healthy. It's a long time, long in the tooth, brother.
01:03:49
Speaker 2: He's long in the tooth. I think those are the top two. I think then there's a clump that's the Niners, Chicago, Detroit, Detroit, Green Bay, Philly.
01:04:03
Speaker 4: Philly's in that mix too, and then Atlanta's at the bottom with Dallas. Yeah, of the nine that we did.
01:04:08
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I would think.
01:04:10
Speaker 4: Yeah, I like that. Yeah, that's a tough man. Whoever comes out of there is going to absolutely earn it. Coming up next, we head to the podium. Jaxi's error. Coming up next. 01:05:01
Speaker 5: Pretty good.
01:05:02
Speaker 10: I'm sure I feelt a little different without ninety five out there for.
01:05:04
Speaker 5: Mainstream men to campus.
01:05:05
Speaker 10: That's the first time I'm talking to kinda What kind of your thoughts on away, you know, not having Miles round anymore on the trip?
01:05:11
Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean obviously when you have a player of Dak caliber that, Yeah, he had twenty three sacks last year, Obviously you're you're gonna you're gonna miss that as a as a coach, you know. But we have great pieces in Jared Alex Right, Isaiah Mason, Malik Collins, So you know, I don't see any let down. You know, the guys have been working extremely hard and and I can't wait for training camp to start.
01:05:38
Speaker 10: And on the flip side, what's it been like kind of welcoming Jared into the team into that deepen the line room, kind of getting him up to speed and saw this week he was really working with.
01:05:47
Speaker 5: A lot of teams. Yeah, you know, Jared's done a good job of just just learning the playbook. You know, he's extremely intelligent and he's picked up everything that we've asked him to learn. Obviously, the technique is a little bit different for him, so we're still work through that. But he's done a great job both as a as a leader and as and learning the playbook.
01:06:05
Speaker 1: But there are the challenges for him coming in relatively late, uh with you know, be laying up the street.
01:06:13
Speaker 3: With a playbook.
01:06:14
Speaker 5: Yeah, like I said, he's extremely intelligent and he picked it up. You know, everybody in the NFL is doing something similar now that the the style at which they play is gonna be a little different, but you know, we're we're all we're all doing kind of the same movements and the same pressures and same rushes. So it's just a matter of him understanding, hey, this is what we're doing. We go, oh, we used to call it this, but yeah, that's exactly. This is exactly what we're doing. But we're we're running it like you know how we run it. So he he's done a good job of just picking up the defense.
01:06:46
Speaker 10: Driver is obviously like a more like a three four outside linebacker in LA.
01:06:49
Speaker 5: Yeah, Ta's a four to three year you know.
01:06:51
Speaker 10: I remember his first practice Hams and the during is working on the get off the ar right. Just what's like maybe the biggest adjustment with that and maybe how is he maybe a little bit more beneficial for him?
01:07:00
Speaker 5: Yeah, So when we signed him, you know, I got on the phone with him and we're talking. I said, hey, you know you're like a two point or you like a three point? He said, hey, coach, you know I started my career. You know, as far as far as in college is concerned in a three point stance. He's like, I prefer three point stance. I understand that I can get off better with a three point stance. I have better leverage. When when I was in He's like, I had to adjust in l A to a two point stance. So this is like him coming back home right now. When he was at Florida State. He was in a four to three defense and they were coming off the ball. So so all of this is very similar to him. So it's kind of an easy transition for him right now.
01:07:37
Speaker 7: And it looks to me like, I've watch your chair out there kind of dancing with Allen and seems like.
01:07:43
Speaker 10: He's already fitting right now.
01:07:44
Speaker 1: And he seems like sort of like to play unifier type of person.
01:07:47
Speaker 10: What have you seen from.
01:07:48
Speaker 2: Him in that way already.
01:07:49
Speaker 8: A short amount of time.
01:07:50
Speaker 5: Yeah, So the great great thing about him is, you know, I asked him, hey, you know, what do you what do you expect out of this?
01:07:56
Speaker 4: What do you know?
01:07:56
Speaker 5: What do you what do you want to do here? And the first thing he said it is I want to make sure that I play so hard that everyone around me eats. He's like, I'm a team guy, coach. And right when he came in the room, you know, obviously it's it's it's gonna be an adjustment for everybody. Know, Alex right told me he's been with Miles his whole career and now all of a sudden, here's this new guy. And it's honestly, it's been like Jerry's been here for five years. That that's how cool he is, you know, how much of a teammate, team first guy that he is. And I'm excited about just his leadership, his development. You know, He's told me he has a lot to work on and we' and we're gonna, We're gonna keep working together, and I'm just really excited to see what he can do for us.
01:08:40
Speaker 4: You're down a couple of guys on the interior, big pieces.
01:08:42
Speaker 5: Yeah, one of the guys who are there in red pagers. We're taken advantage. Yeah. I mean, everybody has been just working hard, you know, and we got some great pieces of Sam Kamara. Mike Hall has been doing phenomenal this offseason, you know, Aiden He's been doing great as well. So all those guys that are coming back and all the new pieces that we have, we're just working everybody and we're just right now. We're trying to trying to get all the movements down, understand the playbook, the scheme that that Rudy is teaching, and and and and just go out and do what we do best, which is attack, penetrating distruger.
01:09:16
Speaker 6: How about Jared's has to rush repertoires the array of moves.
01:09:21
Speaker 4: Does he need to increase.
01:09:22
Speaker 9: That And is that something that that just you're.
01:09:26
Speaker 8: Gonna really focus on with him, or how.
01:09:27
Speaker 9: They even do that in the brain.
01:09:29
Speaker 5: You know. I tell all my guys they all know how to rush, all of them that that's why they're in the NFL. My job is organizing their rush and telling them exactly when to use that rush. And and so Jared, he does have a nice repertoire right now. I'm We're gonna ad a couple of little different rinkles to it. But I love what he does best, which is just smash people. And and that guy loves violence. He loves and he has a lot of speed. And I know that when he comes out here, when he got the pads on, it's gonna be a.
01:09:57
Speaker 7: Show for you.
01:10:00
Speaker 4: Have you a different defensive coordinator?
01:10:03
Speaker 5: Yeah, So when I played, I had six different different defensive coordinators, and as a coach, I've had six different different coordinators. So, uh, for me, it's it's it's the same. Whatever playbook they give me, my job is to make sure that I give it to the guys in a way that they can go out here and execute at a high level, fast and violent and then and that's what I do best.
01:10:28
Speaker 6: Shot again, But how do you how has around men in the.
01:10:33
Speaker 8: Aftermath of the Miles straight?
01:10:35
Speaker 1: What's the fine your kind?
01:10:37
Speaker 5: You know? You know, I like to keep a lot of energy in the room. I like, you know, keep the vibes high. And obviously that that day was a was a shock to those guys. You know, it was shot to everybody. However, they're all professionals, they're all leaders, they're all they're all men that that love to work, love to play ball, and they have fun out here. So the vibe, that energy nothing dipped. You know. They just came out here and say, Hey, we gotta go to work, we gotta we gotta work, we gotta get ready for the season.
01:11:07
Speaker 2: And let me ask you for that if you don't mind, feel likes ready to me even looking at him out here.
01:11:13
Speaker 7: Today or almost seems like a little like he's a little player, play loose or has a little bit more juice.
01:11:22
Speaker 2: Maybe I'm reading that wrong, Like I'm just wondering if.
01:11:26
Speaker 6: He's taking up the responsibility.
01:11:28
Speaker 10: Of kind of being that leader and doing what he needs to know.
01:11:32
Speaker 5: I think what happens is is that right, Miles been here for seven eight years, right, and obviously Miles is is is an amazing talent, right, generational player. So when you have a generational player out there, who are you guys gonna look at, right, You're gonna look at Miles me too. Okay, when he's not there, obviously you guys are searching. Everybody is searching, who is the next guy that's gonna come up? Those guys have always been there. Those guys have always done that. Alex has always been that way. The only difference now is that ninety five is not there. That takes everybody's attention away from everybody else. So that's why the energy hasn't dipped. The vibe hasn't dipped because they've been like that the whole time. It's just that the majority of the cameras, the attention has gone to ninety five.
01:12:21
Speaker 10: More Miles obviously because he drew so much attention all sometimes fielded a lot of debtines, even triple teams the times to see those highlights.
01:12:30
Speaker 2: Yeah, not that Sharon maybe won't get that at times, but how does the game plan or how do you sort of work through that with guys understanding like there's not just.
01:12:38
Speaker 5: One guy on the side.
01:12:39
Speaker 4: Anymore from getting all this attention.
01:12:41
Speaker 8: It's gonna be for sort to share them.
01:12:43
Speaker 5: Yeah, And like I said, you know, we have a lot of great football players and Plie Mason, Mike Hall, you know, Jared Now and Alex and Isaiah Maguire. All these guys have played a lot of football. They understand the scheme and to understand what they have to do out there. So you know, if offenses don't want a chip, cool, don't do that. You're gonna pay for it. But yeah, don't do that. Okay. We're gonna approach it the same way, whether whether we had Miles or we don't have Miles, We're gonna approach it the same way. We're gonna come out here, We're gonattack, penetrate, disrupt, we're gonna rush, we're gonna close, We're gonna crush anything that comes in our way, and we're gonna have fun doing it.
01:13:26
Speaker 4: You mentioned Mason, What is your kind of plan.
01:13:29
Speaker 2: For him going into year two and what steps do you ta see if there?
01:13:33
Speaker 5: Yeah, Mason has been phenomenal out here and I can't wait to see him get pads on and start playing with the group. You know, I tell people all the time a lot of people, it's like, what are you gonna do about Mason's pass rush? Mason beat a lot of people one on one last year. You know. The problem is ninety five is pretty fast, okay. And and Malik's out there too. I tell people all time, Mason probably had six sacks last year that he got robbed that with where he hit the quarterback and they didn't give him the I told him, they shoot your hand up in the air quicker than everybody else. Make sure those guys know that it was you that got the sack. He is gonna be just fine. He's playing at a high he was playing at a high level, and I can't wait to see him get back.
01:14:10
Speaker 7: Why do you think spreading the wealth around a little bit more amongst more.
01:14:14
Speaker 5: Of the guys, uh, might be good for your anxiety?
01:14:17
Speaker 10: Really?
01:14:17
Speaker 5: Yeah? I mean, oh, it's always good for you, d line if you have a l uh. You know, guys working away, it's guys coming in and and and there's no dip from the first group to the second group. And and that's that's kind of what we're we're building here. We're building it so whoever is out there, they're gonna represent us. In the in the the the the highest form. They're gonna they're gonna have elite execution. They're gonna play fast, they're gonna play dominant, they're gonna play violent, and and again we're gonna have a lot of fun doing it.
01:14:44
Speaker 4: What do you like about Logan and Tyreegan?
01:14:46
Speaker 5: Sat Logan and Tyreegan. Logan has been great, He's it's been a little bit of an adjustment for him. And and he's a rookie, you know, and Tyreek is a rookie too. So until I see them with pads on and everything like that, I don't really have a true value. It's it's not fair to them to give them a true evaluation until I see what they do with pads on.
01:15:05
Speaker 2: Cool, I appreciate it.
01:15:06
Speaker 5: Cool, I appreciate you guys.
01:15:07
Speaker 4: Always good to hear from coach. Look, I mean, for the first time in a long time, Miles Garrett isn't in the defensive line room. There is a ton of young talent, especially in the middle of that line that needs to show up in a big way. And if they do, then this has a chance to be one of the best defensive lines in football. But they have to play to their talent, and I'm speaking about some high draft picks for us over the last couple of years.
01:15:30
Speaker 2: Yeah, there's no doubt. I mean when you look at this room now, there isn't Miles Garrett and so on the line at the edge, you got Jared Vers filling in with Alex Right, you got Isaiah Maguire. I think a big question mark is who is the next defensive end. Julia Naquara was not in the league last year, was on practice squads. Logan Fano, the brother of Spencer Fano, I think obviously has a chance. But this is the reason this team tried to bring in Ajpanessa, and that's when Miles was on the roster. Now, in retrospect, you could say that maybe they were even thinking about that being there and getting another veteran, But now that has happened, and so I still think you would like another veteran in that room. And then in the interior. It's listen, it's go time for Mason Graham and my call. You're talking about your first pick in the twenty five draft, and your your first pick, not a first round pick, but your first pick in the twenty twenty four draft. Those guys have got to take major, major steps. Mason Graham has got to be somebody at the end of the year. We're talking about being a Pro Bowl player, and Mike Hall's got to realize his potential. He's has a chance to be I think the best guy in that room from a town standpoint, and so you need to see that this year. And listen, Lee Collins is not a spring chicken coming off of a devastating injury, So we have to see how that looks for him. But right now, it's Mason Graham and my call have got to go. Mason Graham has got to be an impact player for this football team. You drafted him fifth overall, fifth overall. Yeah, it's time to go.
01:16:54
Speaker 4: And it's going to be interesting to see how Jaques kind of sifts through all of this and the playing time and who starts and who's got to chance to be stars all of the above. It's going to be a fun battle and something to watch for in camp, to say the least. All right, coming up next, we open up that mail bag listen of Cleveland Browns Daily. Speaker 2: Welcome back into this is to Cleveland Brown's Daily presented by bally Bete official sportsmanning partner of your Cleveland Browns.
01:17:38
Speaker 4: Please bet responsibly. Time to open up that mail bag. Hello Gibbe, Hi, gentlemen. How are you great on this Friday?
01:17:47
Speaker 9: Ye?
01:17:48
Speaker 4: And we'll take it.
01:17:49
Speaker 3: That's right, little mail bag here to close out. It's Thursday and some Bobby time because Bybee, a lot of times I don't get to a lot of his questions. Good news getting to them today, Sir. If a documentary crew followed you around for a month, what completely ordinary thing would become your defining character trait?
01:18:16
Speaker 4: Holy smokes? Completely ordinary thing that would become my defining ja thought? Holy smokes completely ordinary. I can't think of anything specifically, but I think it would be and maybe it wouldn't be shocking, but it is incredibly incredible. How routine based I am basically the same day repeats itself with varying degree, but it's pretty much the same every day pretty much. But I can't think of anything that I do that would be ordinary that would become like what defines me. That's a tough one. Do you have anything like that? I think probably, I mean, we talk about it so much on the show, so like it might surprise like people who like stereotypically, I think it's probably surprising. How about you and I cook all which is always every day.
01:19:10
Speaker 2: I was gonna say something around food or just just zest just.
01:19:13
Speaker 4: My life, very good, very good. Yeah, yeah, that's right. Good yeah.
01:19:21
Speaker 3: Uh, what conspiracy theory about yourself? Would your friends immediately believe.
01:19:28
Speaker 4: Conspiracy theory about myself? My god, these are deep out of the gates? Would my friends believe.
01:19:37
Speaker 3: A more dandies come in?
01:19:39
Speaker 2: I think my friends would believe a conspiracy theory about me that at one point in my life, my father and I were hired by ne'er Dowells to harass tourists on a bus and relieve them of their personal possessions.
01:19:54
Speaker 3: In San Francisco in the Bay Area. That's right, get wild and crazy and oak.
01:20:01
Speaker 4: That's great. That was great. What it'd be amazing for you.
01:20:05
Speaker 2: It was quite a thrill, but also maybe a little scary, a little strange.
01:20:08
Speaker 4: Yeah, a odd to be doing that. Conspiracy theory, I don't know. I can't think of anything that would that would be. I mean, because what I try to stay out of the conspiracy world. Uh, I don't know that. I can't think of anything off the top of my head that would be. At this point, isn't it all believable? I mean, is there a single conspiracy theory that you hear out there that isn't believable? Would you? What would it take to truly shock you guys? Now? Like, truly nothing? It's all so shocking.
01:20:40
Speaker 2: We live in a crazy time where everything is said.
01:20:43
Speaker 4: It's all shocking, it's all and now it's all mundane. I don't know that there's any conspiracy that would shock. No, I don't think I can get there. I can't think of one off the top of my head. If something comes to me, I'll let you know. Give it.
01:20:53
Speaker 3: If your life had a warning label, what would it say?
01:20:57
Speaker 4: My life had a warning label, what would it say?
01:21:01
Speaker 2: Warning fun times ahead?
01:21:08
Speaker 4: It would probably have to do and we've talked about this a lot, but it would probably have to.
01:21:11
Speaker 2: Do with.
01:21:14
Speaker 4: It's going to go buy in a blink, brother, because the when you have life is pretty monotonous and slow. Not monotonous, but it's just kind of slow and easy. And then when you have children, it just goes and it just you're in a blink and somehow I got a freshman. It doesn't make sense. So that would probably be the warning label that that when the kids come, don't blink because it goes by bank. Can you show right like it is? It's just so fast, so fast? Yeah, it is.
01:21:42
Speaker 3: Oh and you think it's fast, now wait to they actually get into high school?
01:21:47
Speaker 2: Yeah, because the high school is over. Yeah, you're done. But it's and it's funny because it does happen that way, even though, like you would say, if you just had a a one year old like that, that's a slow year. But having the high school kids keeps it fast. Even I can't believe Lucas already won.
01:22:05
Speaker 4: Even with the one year old, because everything is so routine based. Even that is quick. You know, it all flies, you'd be dun't blink.
01:22:15
Speaker 3: Uh, what is the closest you've come to actually let me restart?
01:22:20
Speaker 4: Easy?
01:22:21
Speaker 3: Easy, what's the closest you've come to accidentally becoming a local legend.
01:22:28
Speaker 4: Well, I think we already are that. I think we are that already, Like I don't know about the closest to becoming it. I think unfortunately we are fortunately or unfortunately you want to look at me kind of are that? So?
01:22:38
Speaker 3: I you know, yeah, through an amazing party in college that multiple law enforcement and agencies had to break up, and I did actually have to go to jail for a few hours.
01:22:49
Speaker 4: So you think if you wouldn't have had to go to jail, you would have been a local legend?
01:22:54
Speaker 3: Were any local legend? When we had to make an appearance in the courtroom and listen to people that lived around us and what was done or being done around their properties that I had nothing to do with.
01:23:08
Speaker 4: Yeah, Like that's that's kind of the the Godfather from old school thing there right where it's just like the stuff a legend. Yes that happens, Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
01:23:16
Speaker 8: Uh.
01:23:17
Speaker 3: If you had to give a TED talk with zero preparation, what random topic could you somehow talk about for twenty minutes?
01:23:25
Speaker 2: Youth sports, how to SUV anything, make it amazing? Yeah, souv the hell out of it. Yeah, I could do you sports. I could do an hour on U sports a Ted talk on how to fix it. I feel like I could fix it really easily, be very simple.
01:23:40
Speaker 4: I could do that. Or I could do I could this isn't that random and that I do it every morning. But I could do.
01:23:44
Speaker 2: College football fixes in twenty minutes pretty easily. Both of those I could do. I could have done it. I could easily do a Ted talk on like the WWE from nineteen ninety eight through.
01:23:57
Speaker 3: I think you did a Ted talk a few weeks ago previewing Mini Camp.
01:24:00
Speaker 4: Yeah, I think you did.
01:24:01
Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, I can talk about this team, I think the other The reason I think that subject is so interesting when you go when you do that WWE era for me is because I was out at that time, so like your knowledge, and it does feel like that that was a moment that if I was to pick a moment to be into wrestling later in life, that was the moment to be into it.
01:24:22
Speaker 4: And I was out at that point. So I don't know what caused me out. I don't know what it happened, but I largely missed like the Rock and Stone Cold in real time, I missed that almost entirely. Yeah, So like the last of it I remember watching was the era right before that, which was like the Monday Night Wars or whatever that was well WCW, like the nWo, all of that.
01:24:45
Speaker 2: That was like Rock Austin. That's the same time.
01:24:47
Speaker 4: But I don't remember. I don't remember Rock at all. I mean we just I don't remember it at all. I just I remember all the W No, I remember a lot of w CW. What we watched with w Yeah, it was all the it was all. It was all nWo is what I remember. Okay, that was the last time I remember watching Goldberg.
01:25:10
Speaker 2: Did you watch Goldberg?
01:25:11
Speaker 4: I remember him being a I remember being familiar with him, but I don't remember thinking anything of his operation specifically. It was the ww's the WCW. So I remember during that time.
01:25:22
Speaker 3: If aliens landed tomorrow, excuse me, only wanted to interview one person from your friend group who gets nominated?
01:25:30
Speaker 2: And why Bootsy? He gave me a nice pen. I think he'd speak blowing moving up. He's moving up the will are there talking about you? Or there You're you're choosing somebody in your friend group to represent like humanity?
01:25:44
Speaker 4: I think till Bootsy I think, so it's still Bootsy for me. His he is so enthusiastic, so excited about everything. I mean, he's a miniu like he to this day, I don't want to like to this day, I can hear him and he's ten. I can hear him running down the steps and running into my office in the morning, give me a hug at ten. I love it still because he's the best, still just incredible zes for life.
01:26:11
Speaker 2: If it was like we needed to convince them that like people were good and worthy of staying alive, I would have interview my wife. Yeah she is. She's just a good just a good He's just a good human.
01:26:21
Speaker 4: She really is. She is, yeah, good, good human.
01:26:25
Speaker 3: Uh, let's see what is the which I'm sorry, I'm going to skip that one question. Next question, which NFL player from any era would be the absolute worst roommate and why?
01:26:42
Speaker 4: Lawrence Phillips good good for O. J. Simpson.
01:26:48
Speaker 2: Aaron Hernandez.
01:26:50
Speaker 4: Aaron Hernandez, I mean, I where do you want to how bad do you want to go? Aaron Hernandez gets pretty bad, So does Lawrence Phillips. Yeah, yeah, I mean legit murderers both of them and OJ.
01:27:02
Speaker 3: This was not a very dark round.
01:27:04
Speaker 2: OJ was a good time for a long time, though, was he I just don't think he knew I mean not if you were a female.
01:27:13
Speaker 4: No, not a great guy, Nobo. He's our roommate, that's true, So I guess for us he'd be okay. But my god, yeah, those are bad ones. Like who do I think? I'll tell you a guy who didn't murder somebody who I just was just a jerk was Warren Sap. He was a big time jerk. But it might have been a situation where like if you were in his group, maybe it was awesome. Yes, it was like with Leif, Like Leif was tough and I wasn't like really close with him, but was in the mix and he was fun to be around. But you could tell like that he was I had a lot of jerk to him.
01:27:48
Speaker 2: I was gonna say, like the fact that Mark Schli's nickname is stink. That doesn't sound like a.
01:27:53
Speaker 4: Good room was like maybe he did.
01:27:55
Speaker 2: Yeah, that does sound like a good roommate.
01:27:57
Speaker 4: No, probably not.
01:27:59
Speaker 2: It's not great.
01:28:01
Speaker 3: In our final minute, here, you're forced to fight one mascot every morning before work for a year. Which mascot are you picking? And why are you convinced you could take them?
01:28:09
Speaker 4: Have little Steelers guy that's running around and work like that guy. Actually, for me, it'd probably be the Ravens beat up that bird every day.
01:28:17
Speaker 2: It's a mascot.
01:28:19
Speaker 3: It's a mascot. I'm taking out the Syracuse Orange just because it's the Siliano's thing.
01:28:25
Speaker 2: I also think the Orange like he's gonna have a hard time fighting. He's got a lot OF's very top heavy.
01:28:30
Speaker 4: Very difficult to fight the Orange or for him to fight that, for him.
01:28:33
Speaker 2: To fight back, I think it would be really really hard.
01:28:35
Speaker 8: Uh.
01:28:37
Speaker 2: I think I might go with the uh the Santa Cruz. You see Santa Cruz banana slugs. I don't think that banana slug anything. It doesn't even have arms, no or like does either. So I feel like I'm just gonna stomp it out, stomp it out, and that's easy. It's on the ground.
01:28:51
Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, if you go down the college route, there's a lot of ones you can take care of pretty quickly.
01:28:55

Speaker 4: Which players would be like ideal in that?
00:35:27
Speaker 5: Oh?
00:35:28
Speaker 8: I mean the best place is that Lamar and all that.
00:35:30

00:35:52

00:38:59

00:39:05
Speaker 2: It's hard. It's I don't see one on here that looks just like that. Is it a light board?

01:28:55
Speaker 3: Gentlemen. That is this week's edition of the Mago Kids.
