OVER DEZE AFLEVERING
A murder confession can be planted - and Boston Blackie proves it in this twisty crime thriller. When Joan Thompson admits to killing Henry Brightson, Blackie refuses to believe the story ends there, and what he uncovers at the Boulevard Club points to something far more sinister than a simple shooting.
Blackie and Mary Wesley dig into the night Brightson died and find a chain of clues that keeps tightening around club owner Jim Edwards, hypnotist Wilner, and Dr. James Harris. The mystery deepens when Joan seems trapped in a confession she can’t take back, even after Blackie traces the evidence to a rigged car, a drugged coffee, and a hypnotic suggestion planted in her mind.
You'll hear Blackie work through the case piece by piece - from the suspicious car trouble that sends Brightson into Joan’s hands, to the club floor show that raises the question of whether hypnosis can really control what someone believes, to the final confrontation that exposes who actually killed Brightson and why.
Along the way, the episode explores:
why Joan’s confession is not what it seems
how Blackie proves she was drugged before the murder
what the hypnotist at the Boulevard Club really contributed to the scheme
how a sabotaged car becomes the key to the entire case
why Faraday is certain Blackie himself is hiding something
Boston Blackie is at his sharpest here, using wit, nerves, and a few deceptively simple tests to unravel a plot built on manipulation. If you like fast-moving mysteries, clever reversals, and a hero who never takes the obvious answer, this one is essential listening.
