OVER DEZE AFLEVERING
Dr. Sean Whalen is a pediatric dentist, Iowa graduate, entrepreneur, and practice owner. He owns three practice in Colorado, teaches at the Denver Health Residency, and is the co-founder of Smiyl Brands, a supply company that cuts out the middle man and gives great deals on prophy supplies to pediatric dentists.
Dr. Sean is one of my favorite guests. He's unfiltered, has strong opinions on our profession, and remains an advocate for keeping pediatric dentistry the awesome profession that it is.
Some of the topics we discuss:
- Are modern dentists afraid to fix a cavity?
- The importance of adapting to new tools and technology to make us better dentists. Dr. Sean uses scanners, a CBCT, 3D printing, LSTR, ect.
- Why outsourcing his insurance billing reduced his administrative burden and improved his collections.
- AI, automation, better software, and more streamline billing will improve the way we practice, despite the challenges of student loan debt and DSO influence.
- The importance of strong residency programs to train high-quality pediatric dentists
- The psychology of dealing with one-star reviews
Let's support our fellow pediatric dentists, please check out Dr. Sean's supply company, Smiyl Brands. Go to https://smiylbrands.com/ and use code Smiyl20 to get 20% off of prophy products. His fluoride is cheap and the kids love it.
