OVER DEZE AFLEVERING
Most people around for the 9/11 attacks on America can remember exactly where they were in 2001 and how they felt. But to those who were born after that day, grasping the severity of the tragedy may be harder to understand.
To get a better perspective from two different generations, Between the Lakes Host Tina Sawyer invited 49-year-old Erin Bjerke and 19-year-old Laney Harsh, both from Mount Pleasant, into the WCMU studios to talk about what the day means to them.
Also on the show, a rundown of this week's top headlines:
- A coalition of Michigan business leaders is calling on Congress to reign-in President Trump’s use of tariffs.
- Governor Gretchen Whitmer said this week that state regulators are using new legal guidelines to review permits that were already issued for the Line 5 tunnel project.
- People came out in droves to speak out against a proposed solar farm in Cheboygan County Wednesday evening.
- The nurses' union at MyMichigan Health in Alma sent hospital administrators a three-day strike notice this week after failing to reach a new bargaining contract.
- Several people were left ambivalent walking out of Saginaw Valley State University’s Ott Auditorium on Tuesday after participating in a panel meant to create awareness around data center development.
