OVER DEZE AFLEVERING
Why hasn't Theoren Fleury's No. 14 been retired by the Calgary Flames? Boomer, Pinder and Rhett Warrener dive into one of the longest-running debates in franchise history as they discuss Fleury's legacy, his relationship with the organization and whether it's finally time to put his jersey in the rafters. Fleury played 791 regular-season games for Calgary, recording 364 goals, 466 assists and 830 points while helping the Flames win the Stanley Cup in 1989. Despite being one of the greatest players in franchise history, his number has never officially been retired, and unlike Al MacInnis and Joe Nieuwendyk, he hasn't been recognized through the Forever a Flame program either. With Lanny McDonald, Mike Vernon, Jarome Iginla and Miikka Kiprusoff having their numbers retired, why is Fleury still missing? The boys discuss whether his accomplishments on the ice should be enough, how his complicated history with the organization factors into the conversation and whether the Calgary Flames should finally give Theo the recognition so many fans believe he deserves.
