OVER DEZE AFLEVERING
Kyle Larson had about as perfect a day as you can have at Kansas, and suddenly everyone wants to hand him the championship. Denny Hamlin isn't ready to do that.
With six races left and Denny sitting 26 points back, he explains why he's not panicking. Nobody keeps putting up a 2-point average finish forever, and one bad pit stop, restart or wreck can change the whole picture. Denny, Travis and Jared get into it over who's actually still alive in the Chase, where the cutoff really is, and whether Vegas, Charlotte, Phoenix, Talladega, Martinsville and Homestead give Denny enough time to make a run.
Denny also breaks down how Larson won Kansas, including the last-second dive to pit road that kept Chase Briscoe from getting ahead of him, the restart lane Denny would choose, and why the 11 had more of a balance problem than a speed problem
Plus, Denny has some strong words for the team that jumped Corey Heim at Martinsville and says they shouldn't be allowed in pit lane for at least a year.
Also on this episode: why Ryan Blaney started 25th, Joey Logano's Chase run taking a hit from a tire cord, Austin Cindric finally winning Denny over, the Carson Hocevar restart wreck, Kaden Honeycutt's rain-delayed Truck Series win, the time NASCAR let drivers qualify whenever they wanted, and a text about a Vegas slot machine that just keeps paying out.
