OM DENNE EPISODE
01:00s–03:20:00 — Callers + recurring themes (Show is a long call-in; same arguments recycle.)
- Playoff math: One more loss and the path gets ugly. Minnesota must be a statement before the bye.
- Beck: Too cute for the Big Ten. Need I-formation / under-center power, Marshall on 4th-and-1, slants to Buchanan/Marsh/Hanson instead of inside zone on 3rd-and-5.
- Underwood defense: Not the reason they lost. 276/2 TDs vs a top-ranked defense. INT was a Marsh route/read miss (should have been a sideline shoulder catch). Fan-base “bench Bryce / play Tommy Carr” talk called lazy. Carr TD last week was vs UTEP backups. Hosts: true sophomore, youngest offense in the Big Ten, improving every week. TJ: first-round / maybe No. 1 overall trajectory if development continues. Sherrone Moore “fucked that kid up” by not bringing a QB coach; he’s shaking it off.
- O-line: Better pass pro and more push. Holdings still killing chunk plays (Hyder screen called back). Ticky-tack year; practice “let him go when the play is dead.”
- Defense / last drive chaos: Press man + QB spy on the final play. Zeke Berry late hit. Tip drill. Hands-to-the-face. Near-INT by Bracy that would have ended it. Henry Daly injury with 2 seconds left — NCAA rule: can’t spike with under 3 seconds. Injury timeout gave Iowa the untimed snap. Hosts lose their minds when they learn the rule late (~4:35). “Iowa devil magic.”
- Special teams: Kerry Coombs unit uncharacteristic. Straight-line return, missed tackles.
- Wildcat: Extra wrinkle — Underwood throwing on the roll. Still want more. Don’t live in shotgun for the run game.
03:20:00–03:28:00 — Noah (first-time caller) Needed a wake-up. Youngest B1G offense. Holdings every week (Jake). Hike when the D crosses (free 5 yards left on the table 3 times). Hogan Hanson + Mason Bonner deserve more. Moa drop was catchable. Don’t ruin Carr. LaPotti (Cass Tech) at the game; kid is a baller. Minnesota smash + bye is the right reset. Penn State looks vulnerable.
03:28:00–03:38:00 — Wolverine Geek Speechless 10–15 minutes after the walk-off. Could see the 1-on-1 developing. Margin of error gone on a game they dominated. Man coverage in a 2-minute, 5-point lead = last year’s defense. Treated a 5-point lead like 20. Iowa saved timeouts for that drive.
03:38:00–03:50:00 — Bull / Beat Up 0-1, next week 1-0. Clean the flags. Iowa waits all game for you to gift it. “Lions-esque / SOL loss.” Buckeyes hate-watch the show (Chris Drew / Menace). Sparty worse — “hotel cup chair.” Wildcat motion + pass element was the next layer they asked for.
04:35:00–04:49:00 — Daly / spike-rule spiral Rule 3-2-3: minimum 3 seconds to spike. Two seconds + Daly down = extra play. Hosts go from sad to furious. “Tough it out / get off the field.” Hope that’s all the Western Michigan karma coming back. Pieces are there; film Monday will hold Beck and Jay Hill accountable. Learning curve vs last year’s Sherrone loop gives them hope.
04:49:00–04:51:00 — Sign-off Mark Rogers spinning up another VOCFB call-in immediately after. Michigan Mondays (TJ + Michelle, 7). Tuesday flagship 8. Thursday call-in 8. Postgame Minnesota. “Playoffs still alive. Margin of error almost zero. Lock in. Beat Minnesota, Penn State, Indiana, Ohio State, Oregon. Fuck Ohio. Go Blue.” X: @TJ_Ronin, @JohnDAdamo. ~14K YouTube viewers.
