OM DENNE EPISODE
WEPAAAAAA! On this episode of the Comic Crusaders Podcast, Al Mega welcomes HUGO award-nominated cartoonist Taki Soma and writer Mark Schey to talk about their original graphic novel, Parapsychologist.
This supernatural comedy, family drama, and mystery follows Dr. Ron Richards, a therapist whose patients just happen to be paranormal beings with very human problems. From poltergeists with agoraphobia to werewolves struggling with toxic masculinity, Parapsychologist uses monsters, humor, and heart to explore mental health, loneliness, trauma, family, and healing.
We dig into the creative journey behind the book, Taki and Mark's collaboration, the balance between comedy and emotional truth, working with artist Cat Farris, and why comics are the perfect medium for a story this weird, funny, and deeply relatable.
