🗺️ More Than Words – Stage 41: Post Script 🗺️
From Storm Dave to Spain’s early‑season sun, and from Chatteris’ prehistoric coastline to Holme Fen’s subterranean geography lesson, Stage 41 delivered weather, wetlands, and one man’s ongoing feud with Ryanair’s seat pitch.
Featuring:
• 🌪️ Storm Dave: a storm named after the bloke who cleans your gutters
• 🏖️ Spain in April: promenades, pine dunes, and locals treating “closed due to collapse” signs as polite suggestions
• 🏝️ Chatteris: the Skegness of prehistory, but with worse drainage
• 📜 Ramsey Abbey: medieval powerhouse funded partly in eels
• 🐉 Great Fen: re‑wetting the landscape one apologetic hectare at a time
• 📉 Holme Fen: the UK’s lowest point, where the ground is literally leaving
• ☄️ Glatton meteorite: Cambridgeshire’s most surprising garden visitor
• ✈️ RAF Molesworth: Cold War chain‑link chic
• 🍺 Keyston: a pub so decorated it makes other pubs look like they’ve given up
A landscape sinking under the weight of its own history, a recycled monastery, a meteorite in the onion bed, and a medieval skeleton with better housing than most renters. Onward.
