Speaker 1: The Frames Per Second Podcast. Other Mommy. Welcome everybody to another episode of Other Mommy. A horror movie by Rob Savage. This is one of the ones that we saw the trailer for. And we were like, oh yeah, that's cool. We're looking to doing that one. My name is Kenneth B. Inch. I'm joined with Spike sitting across from me and Mike is sitting beside him. And if you don't know what the trailer reactions are, they are on Patreon. So you can go ahead and check those out. We do trailer reactions where we see the upcoming movies. And you kind of maybe also get a preview as to what we are in alignment with in terms of what we, you know, like, oh, that looks cool. And we're all like, oh, yeah, I want to review it or not. So it's kind of like a preview to the preview of what's what. But yeah, we release two a month. And yeah, all of it's on the Patreon page. So check that out. In addition to, of course, early assets, solo reviews, and Patreon-only conversation as well, as voting, where you dictate and help.
00:01:25
Speaker 1: Go review what you want to review. This movie, as I mentioned earlier, a 2026 American supernatural psychological horror film by Rob Savage is based on a novel incidents around the house. And it's based on about a mother who's trying to protect her daughter from, you know, evil. And when this movie was over, I saw a lot of conversations about, oh, this is just Caroline. I have no idea what Caroline was. It was Caroline.
00:01:59
Speaker 2: It's an animated film that I think he did. I'm looking now. But yeah, it's an old animated film.
00:02:07
Speaker 3: Animated, like anime?
00:02:08
Speaker 1: It's not anime. Animation. Got it. Yeah.
00:02:12
Speaker 2: Or maybe he didn't do it, but yeah, it's good. It's almost like a Tim Burton-ish kind of, that kind of animation.
00:02:21
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, so. And then when I was looking last night, I saw that it wasn't based on that at all because I was just curious to see if it was because that was the direct comparison that a lot of people were making a reference to. But it's about this book. And they decided to make a movie about it. So, fellas, what you guys think about The Mommy?
00:02:47
Speaker 3: When I was walking into this, I was running a little bit late. So I didn't want to. to the restroom real quick before I went to sit down and the guy next to me like me went through and just let out this longest fart just like and it should have gave me a preemptive of what this movie was.
00:03:11
Speaker 2: Going to be damn long fart it should have let me know what I was fucking in for this is the only movie I think we've done bad movies I think this is the only one I seriously consider walking out of I seriously consider getting up and being like, telling y'all, you know what, I ain't even finished.
00:03:26
Speaker 3: I ain't even finished this movie.
00:03:28
Speaker 1: At what point?
00:03:33
Speaker 3: When the other mommy killed... Frank.
00:03:38
Speaker 1: Yes. Okay.
00:03:40
Speaker 3: I was completely like, what am I watching? Why am I watching this? I don't know. It just didn't hit for me. I don't... It was too... I didn't get the tone of it. Like it was comedic, but it was horror. I didn't, I don't think it nailed either one of it. Uh, excuse me, either one of the tones. I don't think the little girl or any of the actors actually did a bad job. I just don't think it was a good movie. I just, it just didn't, I didn't know the supernatural other mommy thing never made sense to me. It never made sense. Cause it was trying to convince her to do these things, but it was also scaring the shit out of her. So, I got the innocence thing. I understand when she lost her innocence. I understood the other little girl coming at the end and what that was. I didn't know if this was a mental health movie or what was going on. I just couldn't put it together, so I did not like this.
00:04:37
Speaker 1: Okay.
00:04:39
Speaker 2: Interesting.
00:04:41
Speaker 1: Sir Mike.
00:04:42
Speaker 2: Yeah, I wish I saw an other movie. I'm actually... right along with Spike, this was awful. And it's a shame because the trailer made it look so good, but the best part of the entire movie was in the trailer.
00:04:58
Speaker 1: That was it. You know?
00:05:00
Speaker 3: The dad falling through the thing and seeing the girl was the best part.
00:05:03
Speaker 2: It was. But then there was, and I don't like to put a whole lot of logic into horror movies, but there were way too many times where I was like, this shit makes no fucking sense. And we'll get to it, but It was just like, who... I was honestly sitting back like, who wrote this?
00:05:22
Speaker 3: Yes.
00:05:23
Speaker 2: About halfway through this movie, I was like, this is fucking ridiculous. This is God-awful movie writing.
00:05:30
Speaker 3: Yeah. Like, this was walkoutable.
00:05:33
Speaker 2: It really was.
00:05:33
Speaker 1: It wasn't even.
00:05:34
Speaker 3: Like, we've done bad movies. Like, we've done other bad movies, and I've sit there, and I've been like, okay, this is bad. But this is the only one where I was like, bro, why, what, and how... How are we watching this? It don't even make sense. I can't believe that the lady, the main star, I can't believe she's in this. I can't believe people read the script and were like, hey, you know what? I'm going to do this movie. It was bad.
00:05:58
Speaker 2: She was the only, well, not the only, but she was like the best part of the whole movie. I can't remember her name.
00:06:03
Speaker 3: She was great.
00:06:05
Speaker 1: Jessica.
00:06:06
Speaker 2: Jessica Chastain. Yeah.
00:06:08
Speaker 1: Yep. She was great.
00:06:09
Speaker 3: Great job.
00:06:10
Speaker 2: And the acting of the movie, I mean, nobody else really gave a bad acting performance, but I can tell you right now, and this is not to be like an anti-kid thing, but that little girl wasn't great enough to carry this movie. I'm sorry. We've seen Dakota Fanning. Dakota Fanning, when she was that age, she could carry a fucking movie. This little girl just needs a little bit more coaching and maybe a little bit more time. But she was good. She was a good little actress. Not good enough for me to watch her for an hour and some change.
00:06:41
Speaker 1: But....
00:06:43
Speaker 3: Nah.
00:06:44
Speaker 1: Nah.
00:06:45
Speaker 2: This is real bad.
00:06:46
Speaker 1: I saw a lot of.
00:06:52
Speaker 3: A lady when I was walking out said 10 out of 10.
00:06:55
Speaker 2: Well, she's a 10 out of 10 dumbass.
00:06:57
Speaker 1: She identified probably with the overall message of the movie for... a certain woman at the end.
00:07:04
Speaker 2: What's the message?
00:07:05
Speaker 1: Please tell me. I think it's like, I do not want to, I'm in this fucking family, in this situation, I only want to be here. Oh, Jesus. You know, or, and I'm seeing that postpartum is a conversation that people are having as well, that about it. y'all got that. But, you know, but I, that's kind of the gist of what I got from it. Because I'm watching this movie and I didn't, I don't like it either. I saw a lot of people saying like 20% Rotten Tomatoes and stuff like that. Because, you know, when it was over, I was like, okay, I don't, I didn't really like that, but maybe there's something that I just didn't quite get, but there were a lot, there were just things I was like, okay, is this real? Is it not real?
00:07:45
Speaker 3: Okay.
00:07:45
Speaker 1: It is real. Like, you know, I just kept going back and forth about that. And I hate watching movies now where I'm trying to play detective. No, that's another movie we're going to watch. Um, that's animals actually. Um, but Yeah, I was like, I don't get it. And then when I saw it was based off Caroline, which I'm unfamiliar with, which I do want to watch, I was like, oh, okay. Well, you know.
00:08:09
Speaker 2: I don't think it was based on Caroline. I think he just stole the story.
00:08:13
Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
00:08:14
Speaker 3: Okay.
00:08:15
Speaker 2: I don't think.
00:08:16
Speaker 1: That's, I guess, the reference that people are drawing that watched it. So I was like, okay, well, maybe since I didn't watch that, there's something else that I didn't get. I don't know. There's too many things where I have to say, oh, maybe it was this, maybe it was that, which... means that for all intents and purposes it was pretty bad movie and uh and you know when i walked in i was a little bit late i walked in when they were dancing but i i didn't miss that fucking when they were dancing yeah when they were dancing oh.
00:08:45
Speaker 2: Yeah that was the beginning that was you didn't miss anything.
00:08:49
Speaker 3: Okay yeah just some words at the beginning yeah figured as much.
00:08:53
Speaker 2: But oh about the demons and the whatever, trying to become human.
00:08:56
Speaker 3: You didn't miss shit.
00:08:57
Speaker 1: Once the movie was over, I realized that I really didn't. They just used that part for the end part when they were dancing at the end when they went back to the house. And they were like, oh, we're going to dance again. And she was like, nah, y'all can stop pretending. But I was surprised, though, that Other Mommy was early in the movie. When she went upstairs and she was like, Other Mommy, she started talking to the entity. I'm like, oh, damn. Off rip. Like, it's already there. There's no buildup. So I thought that.
00:09:28
Speaker 3: I was like, okay, we might be working with something here. It was kind of off-putting, too, though. Because, like... It's to your point when you said, well, what was the movie? Like, they gave us way too much in the fucking trailer. And now, like what you're saying, we two minutes in the movie and she already, like, opening and closing the door trying to bring other mommy out.
00:09:51
Speaker 1: Like, it just.
00:09:52
Speaker 3: There was no buildup to anything. It's just like laid everything out there and then none of it was worth it.
00:10:00
Speaker 1: I think that last part is that none of it was worth it i don't know i i think i like the idea of starting like right there like other mommy is there and this girl has been befriending this thing this whole time it's just it they didn't really do anything with what i thought could have been a good idea and i think that was the issue you know um but yeah i think really i'm with agreement with you guys like well did you guys realize he was unemployed that he wasn't.
00:10:28
Speaker 2: Working yeah okay i thought i thought he worked from home that's what i was thinking so did they ever say he was unemployed but.
00:10:35
Speaker 3: He didn't have a job yeah they kind of alluded to him being like oh not a house yet not the breadwinner.
00:10:43
Speaker 2: I thought he worked from home, but she just made more money than him.
00:10:45
Speaker 1: That's what I thought.
00:10:46
Speaker 3: I don't know.
00:10:47
Speaker 2: I didn't really care enough about the shitty-ass movie to think that hard about it. I thought he didn't have a job, and she was part of the thing with her relationship with the other guy.
00:10:59
Speaker 3: That was a part of it.
00:11:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, with Frank. But yeah, so he was a house husband, and I'm with you that her corporate job, she made all the money, but I thought he... work from home. Right. I didn't get that he had a job. Well, he didn't. Yeah, he didn't. It didn't seem like it. But I didn't pick that up either. And I didn't think it was really that important until I realized he wasn't.
00:11:23
Speaker 3: That was the main thing.
00:11:26
Speaker 1: It didn't seem like it was much of an issue between them, though.
00:11:29
Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't catch that either.
00:11:31
Speaker 3: That's why she was cheating. And the cheating was the reason.
00:11:33
Speaker 2: Well, I didn't get that she was cheating on him because he didn't have a job.
00:11:39
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:11:39
Speaker 2: I just got that she was cheating on him because she was a hoe. They didn't really give us much.
00:11:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, they did.
00:11:43
Speaker 3: I thought she was cheating on him because he was down, like, on his luck. He didn't have stuff. Like, dude had a big house and all that stuff.
00:11:51
Speaker 1: You know that guy's from industry. Mm-hmm. Yeah.
00:11:53
Speaker 3: Yeah, that's my boy. That's Kendall.
00:11:55
Speaker 1: That's right. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:11:57
Speaker 3: So what was Other Mommy? Was this like a demon?
00:12:00
Speaker 1: It was a supernatural entity.
00:12:02
Speaker 3: So how was it switching from thing to thing?
00:12:05
Speaker 1: It just resembled whatever I think. She wanted it to be. That's why they called it a trickster.
00:12:13
Speaker 3: Is it like a possessed?
00:12:19
Speaker 2: It was a demon from what I can understand from this garbage film. It was a demon and it was trying to inhabit the little girl's body. In order for her to do that, she had to say yes. To get into her heart.
00:12:32
Speaker 1: Right. But in order for her to be pure.
00:12:34
Speaker 2: Yes, she had to be pure in order for the demon and she lost her innocence.
00:12:38
Speaker 3: Got it.
00:12:38
Speaker 1: Okay.
00:12:39
Speaker 2: So it could change from thing to thing because it changed according to who the little girl in that moment was the most comfortable with.
00:12:49
Speaker 1: Okay.
00:12:49
Speaker 2: That's why it changed to Datto and then it changed to the babysitter, which I thought that was weird as fuck too. I don't have a daughter, but that just seems odd.
00:12:59
Speaker 3: Super weird. I'm not having an 18-year-old babysit a grown man.
00:13:04
Speaker 1: Well, not a grown man.
00:13:05
Speaker 2: I mean, even if he's 16, that just seems weird as fuck.
00:13:07
Speaker 3: Yeah, don't go with your babysitting in my daughter's room with the lights out.
00:13:11
Speaker 1: Like, bro, no. Hell no.
00:13:12
Speaker 2: Unless that's a cousin or something.
00:13:14
Speaker 3: I don't understand.
00:13:15
Speaker 1: I hate that rod in here because I really would have loved that perspective. So... in full transparency guys it's not there's a there's really not a lot to this movie no it's an hour and a half so you know we're going to talk about it overall but not necessarily chronologically but i want to catch us up to where we are and kind of go back to the trailer which i agree with you guys about the trick that part of in the trailer i did think it was funny like He didn't hesitate. As soon as he saw that, bro, he was like, yo, let's go. He snatched that.
00:13:50
Speaker 2: That was the best part. He said, I'm out. Fuck this, bro.
00:13:57
Speaker 1: Oh, that shit was great. And every time the entity was there, it wouldn't be on the grounds where I would float. But I just knew that at some point that I was going to come back around and do something because she kept looking to see it. But they didn't even really. too much with that either. Especially towards the end. And I couldn't believe... When the movie was over, I was like, they could have just released the trailer and been good, bro. This could have been a great, short, five-minute movie or whatever. You know? A short movie or whatever. Because that was... I don't... I know we often complain about that, but when I saw that and what the rest of the movie had, except for one part that I thought... probably was pretty cool. I was like, well, y'all really just did that. And I'm thinking like, why did you actually release that whole damn scene?
00:14:46
Speaker 2: Cause they knew it was the best thing of the whole movie. They knew that there was nothing else in this film that they could have released. Like what the shit with her and the balls. No, you know, like what else were they going to release?
00:14:58
Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. But yeah, I did think it was funny and kind of realistic when he saw that motherfucker crawl like a spider. He just grabbed her and they were running through the house, bro. You know, in the past, we'd say, like, oh, my God, what is that? And, you know, it was like, nah, we out.
00:15:13
Speaker 3: He broke the glass.
00:15:16
Speaker 2: That was good. That was the best part of the movie. The only thing I didn't like is he got out. My biggest problem with this movie is nothing seemed to be of consequence. Every time something fucked up would happen, they would just accept it. Like, the dad pretty much immediately was like, oh, yeah, there was another thing in the house that had your face. What's for dinner? Let's move on to something else. It's like, wait a minute.
00:15:41
Speaker 1: Time out. Are you serious?
00:15:42
Speaker 3: Ashton, was he high?
00:15:43
Speaker 2: And then he's like, oh, yeah, but that's not what's going on. It's like, bro, really? Is this what we're doing? It was a whole nother thing in your house that was crumpled up like a piece of paper with a pot and some pans in it.
00:15:54
Speaker 3: And y'all was just like.
00:15:56
Speaker 1: Oh, we'll ride it out.
00:15:57
Speaker 2: We'll see what happens. They didn't call the police. But the police were there.
00:16:01
Speaker 1: They were talking to the police. Because you remember, we ran out the house.
00:16:04
Speaker 3: He should have went to go see the doctor that day. Like, if my significant other told me, like, yeah, it was a thing in the house, man. It was burning noodles.
00:16:14
Speaker 1: And it had your face.
00:16:15
Speaker 3: It had your face. And my daughter seen it, too. Like, I would have thought she was crazy. Like, we need to go talk to the ladies. You need to go talk to the lady.
00:16:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, but see, that was the thing to Mike's point, and I'm trying to remember. I don't think they did this, is where he was like, yo, it look like you. Like, it look just like you.
00:16:34
Speaker 2: He said that.
00:16:35
Speaker 3: He did say that.
00:16:36
Speaker 1: He did say that. But did he say that? Well, shit, she saw it, too. So ask her, and she can verify that. Yeah, you may think that I'm high. And that the drugs caused me to look at this. But there's two of us here. He said it.
00:16:51
Speaker 2: The little girl said she saw it.
00:16:51
Speaker 3: That was the crazy part about it. Like, both of them were saying it. And the mama was patient. Because I would have not been that patient. She was really trying to understand, like, what the fuck is going on? She's got some dick, Spike. She probably wasn't really thinking about much. She was hoping he didn't smell cum on her breath. The daughter did.
00:17:10
Speaker 2: The daughter was like, you smell like somebody else.
00:17:12
Speaker 1: But if you have two persons in the house saying that, yo, nah, for real, this thing. I'm thinking about if I walk in the house and my wife and the kids were like, yo, it look just like you. First of all, who the fuck other man you got in this fucking house? Other daddy. Who the fuck is other daddy that you got trying to trick me?
00:17:31
Speaker 2: So being logical as we are as men.
00:17:34
Speaker 3: If you hear that walk in the house, the first thing you're going to think is because my wife probably seen it and she convinced my kid that this happened. So now that's why she grilling. Like, she did the right thing.
00:17:45
Speaker 2: Now you grilling the kid really trying to get to the truth because you think this nigga lying.
00:17:49
Speaker 3: He lying.
00:17:50
Speaker 1: Like, he was high.
00:17:51
Speaker 2: Something happened. You almost burnt this house down. You was in here doing something you wasn't supposed to do. Now I'm trying to figure out for my daughter, like she was doing, what's really going on? Because both of y'all are telling this story, why he lying to you and getting you to lie to me. That's what I would have been thinking.
00:18:05
Speaker 1: True. And one thing she probably knew is that this motherfucker definitely wasn't cheating. Nah, ain't nobody want him, bro. Nobody want to.
00:18:12
Speaker 3: Yeah, bro. Nobody want to, bro. She knew that was not the case.
00:18:18
Speaker 1: But yeah, so then that's when they had the party to celebrate the anniversary. They on the phone with the mom, and the mom don't like the dad, and she didn't come to the wedding, I assume.
00:18:27
Speaker 2: This pissed me off, too. Yeah. Because I was like, who wrote this? Nobody is going to say that to a little kid. Why aren't you here, Grandma? Well, your parents didn't want me there because I didn't come to your wedding. Why are you telling a little kid this?
00:18:40
Speaker 1: I don't know, Mike. I think I take some crap, but I think there are some grandparents that would say some shit like that. In the midst of this movie. But she said, oops, my bad. I shouldn't have said that shit.
00:18:49
Speaker 2: That shit was, all that was was exposition for the audience.
00:18:53
Speaker 1: True.
00:18:54
Speaker 2: That was for us to know why the mother was not around. But in the span of the movie, because you're right, in real life, I could see if I had kids, I could see my mom doing some shit like that. But in the span of the movie, in this moment, it was like, why are you telling her this? Why are you telling this child? This is stupid. And then the whole party was just stupid because it was like, wait a minute.
00:19:15
Speaker 3: Why is this child down here?
00:19:17
Speaker 2: This kid.
00:19:17
Speaker 1: That child was upstairs.
00:19:19
Speaker 2: But she came.
00:19:20
Speaker 1: The dad went and brought her down.
00:19:21
Speaker 2: But why?
00:19:22
Speaker 3: She didn't even want to go.
00:19:24
Speaker 1: She didn't. It's a.
00:19:26
Speaker 2: It's it's showing they look everybody.
00:19:27
Speaker 1: That's all it is i can see that all it is gotcha gotcha that's all it is it's really that simple.
00:19:33
Speaker 2: Okay yeah this this this whole part really didn't go anywhere for me except for the fact that it was like oh it's very obvious that the wife is cheating because she's over there talking to frank and the way she's talking like okay so she's cheating yeah cool where are we going with.
00:19:48
Speaker 1: This and then you know the daughter didn't want to hug frank at all she didn't want.
00:19:54
Speaker 2: She didn't really get oh i guess i guess other mommy was telling her that something was wrong with frank Well, was.
00:20:02
Speaker 3: She telling other mommy something?
00:20:04
Speaker 2: Other mommy was telling her that Frank was bad and that regular mommy was doing something bad. They explained it somewhere in the movie. I can't remember where, but they said something like that.
00:20:17
Speaker 1: But we didn't know at the time.
00:20:20
Speaker 2: No, at the time we didn't know. They were just doing this shit, again, for the audience. Like, oh, look, he's stroking her face. They must be cheating. It's like, well... Part of the reason, like, I don't care that they're cheating because you haven't given us enough time to give a fuck about anybody in this film.
00:20:39
Speaker 1: Right.
00:20:39
Speaker 2: So who gives a fuck if she's cheating with Uncle Frank?
00:20:42
Speaker 3: And what does it mean?
00:20:43
Speaker 2: It doesn't mean anything.
00:20:44
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:20:45
Speaker 2: Because in the moment, I was like, oh, Uncle Frank is a pedophile. And that's why she don't want to fuck with him.
00:20:50
Speaker 1: That's what I was thinking. Yeah.
00:20:51
Speaker 2: But then it was like, oh, no, no, no. They're actually cheating. But then I was like, okay, maybe they're cheating and he's a pedophile or something. But, nah, the movie.
00:20:59
Speaker 1: And the dad didn't seem to, like, you know, and I guess as a parent, you become embarrassed when your kid don't want to fuck with another person. And maybe that's the old way of thinking, because if my kid don't fuck with somebody, then it's just like, all right, well, he just don't fuck with you. It is what it is. But, you know, going back to what you were talking about earlier about the whole thing with the babysitter upstairs with the lights off.
00:21:23
Speaker 2: That shit's weird as fuck.
00:21:24
Speaker 1: Weird.
00:21:25
Speaker 2: I walk in, and you in here with makeup on your face. And the lights are out.
00:21:30
Speaker 1: In the closet.
00:21:30
Speaker 2: And you're looking in the closet, and where's my daughter? I'm fucking you up and asking questions later. What is happening right now? This is weird. What are you doing? And yes, I know people listening, oh, that's very fucked up of y'all. Cool, I'll be fucked up then. That shit looks weird.
00:21:45
Speaker 3: That's just why I don't have kids. I said that when I said this is why I don't have kids.
00:21:49
Speaker 2: Right.
00:21:49
Speaker 3: Because I wouldn't have acted rational. There's no rational reaction that you would have got out of me in that moment. And it could have been as innocent as day. But if I like you, everything you just said, if I walked in and that was the scenario, we moving you around this whole house.
00:22:05
Speaker 1: Yep.
00:22:06
Speaker 2: Unless we have grown up with you. Maybe that happened, but they didn't say that. I got to know you.
00:22:11
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:22:11
Speaker 2: Like I have to have known you and my family has to have known you since you were two. Then I would be like, oh, okay. Yeah, of course you can come watch my kid. But if this is just a fucking male babysitter hanging out with my daughter like that, Absolutely not. Because here's the thing. Everyone listening that's just like, oh, y'all are being overprotective. When these stories happen, they're always like, why didn't the parents know? How come the parents weren't paying attention? You right. Y'all downstairs having a party. There's nothing that would tell me that that babysitter would not be upstairs messing around with my kid. That's fucking stupid. But even moving past that, I can't remember how we got to the Frank part. Because wasn't, how did, wait, what happened after this part?
00:23:01
Speaker 3: She went in the closet because she was embarrassed and she didn't want to talk in front of everybody. Right.
00:23:06
Speaker 2: And then they had the whole little sequence.
00:23:07
Speaker 1: Yeah, but she, there was, she went somewhere. And that's the other thing I couldn't, I didn't know if she was going somewhere in her head or real life. Because she went somewhere in the closet or she did something with the male babysitter. I forgot his name.
00:23:21
Speaker 2: It was the ghost world or the demon world or whatever the fuck with the balloons and shit.
00:23:26
Speaker 1: But she was also floating and then she hit the ground at the party. That was funny.
00:23:30
Speaker 3: I'm not going to lie.
00:23:31
Speaker 1: I did laugh.
00:23:32
Speaker 2: I laughed when they dropped that. I dropped her last twice.
00:23:35
Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, this is fucked up. But my thing is at this party with all these people, did nobody see this motherfucker floating?
00:23:42
Speaker 2: No, no, no. Because they didn't see all that because that was in the other realm or whatever. That wasn't actually in the party.
00:23:49
Speaker 1: How the hell did she hit the ground at the party then? Yeah, she did.
00:23:52
Speaker 2: Oh, wait.
00:23:53
Speaker 3: Did the babysitter pick her up?
00:23:56
Speaker 1: Yeah. They had this whole fly thing. And she was flying and then there was a babysitter. That's when we realized, oh, it could be anything. It could be other entities, other people.
00:24:04
Speaker 3: And go to the thing which I was talking about of consequence. Everybody seen this little girl floating at this point and it didn't get out. Nobody said nothing. Because she hit the ground.
00:24:12
Speaker 2: Yeah, then they had to go grab her and run her off. Yeah, that did happen. I don't know.
00:24:17
Speaker 1: I don't know. This was bad. Wait, so... Okay, so... Yeah, yeah, yeah, because then... Yeah, because that's how the police got called, right? Because the police were there when Frank was... No, the police... Frank was there when... Shit, am I misremembering?
00:24:37
Speaker 2: Just look at your Wikipedia notes.
00:24:40
Speaker 3: The demon thing did something. The demon thing did something at the party. And that's what made the police come.
00:24:45
Speaker 2: That's what I'm trying to remember. What did the demon thing do at the party... That made them say, okay, we need to leave the house. I can't remember.
00:24:54
Speaker 1: I can't either. I can't either. What I'm trying to remember is this. The touching of Frank, when Frank touched the daughter's face. Was that after the first incident where they ran out of the house from the trailer? Yes.
00:25:11
Speaker 3: Okay.
00:25:11
Speaker 1: All right.
00:25:12
Speaker 2: Yeah, because that happened at the very beginning.
00:25:14
Speaker 1: At the very beginning. Okay, cool. All right. So it didn't happen in this scene, so. The balloons.
00:25:22
Speaker 3: But yeah, I remember the balloons was all over the floor.
00:25:24
Speaker 2: What are you saying on the damn review? You popping around the corner. You ain't doing shit.
00:25:29
Speaker 3: The balloons was all over the floor. But what happened? How did everybody see him and start yelling though?
00:25:36
Speaker 2: That's what I don't remember. That's what I'm trying to find notes on.
00:25:38
Speaker 4: They sent them home because the woman is outside talking to Frank. And that's what Frank invited them.
00:25:44
Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
00:25:45
Speaker 2: But what happened to make Frank believe that there was.
00:25:48
Speaker 3: had the thing that she fell and then they he didn't know if it was real at that point Frank didn't but he was like taking it into consideration.
00:25:57
Speaker 1: But the little girl Bella Bella saw Frank touching her mom's face right from the scene from the trailer yes when that's when the police came and that's when she saw that.
00:26:12
Speaker 2: Nah that was later okay so yeah so she went into that dreamland and then she kind of appeared out of nowhere and just fell on the ground.
00:26:21
Speaker 1: Right.
00:26:22
Speaker 2: Now, I don't remember police being called after that, but that was when Frank said to come stay with them.
00:26:28
Speaker 1: Okay. So the scene where Frank touched her face, that was in the beginning of the movie. Yes.
00:26:35
Speaker 3: It was like around the party.
00:26:37
Speaker 1: Yeah, it was at the party. Okay.
00:26:38
Speaker 3: Yeah, it was at the party.
00:26:41
Speaker 1: Shit. I guess the point I'm asking is that that's bold as fuck for Frank.
00:26:46
Speaker 3: He didn't give a fuck.
00:26:47
Speaker 1: He didn't, clearly.
00:26:48
Speaker 2: He didn't give a shit about Datto, man. That was basically his girl. I'm just letting her live with.
00:26:55
Speaker 1: You, man.
00:26:55
Speaker 2: They were friends, supposedly. So him being like, well, y'all just come stay with me. To Datto, without context, it would have looked like, oh, Frank's just being cool because that's my homeboy.
00:27:04
Speaker 1: I'm being stupid, everybody, real quick. I'm sorry. We met Frank at the fucking party. Yeah, we met Frank at the party. I got the order confused. I know everybody's probably typing and doing all this other stuff. My bad, yeah. Our first introduction to Frank was at the fucking party.
00:27:19
Speaker 3: Yeah, he touched her face after that. He didn't give a shit about that.
00:27:23
Speaker 1: Not at all. I think, but again, it felt like they had to accelerate that for the cheating with the touching of the face for the audience. It just seems stupid to do something like that.
00:27:36
Speaker 2: It didn't even seem necessary.
00:27:37
Speaker 1: Thank you, that's what I'm saying.
00:27:40
Speaker 3: That just told us that's who she was cheating with. I think the daughter shit was subtle enough and Well, not even subtle. But the daughter shit was like, well, you smell like someone else. And then her immediately jerking back and then showing his face. Like, okay, she's cheating.
00:27:53
Speaker 2: They could have just had the whole eyeglass contact lens case thing. They could have just done that. And that would have been enough.
00:27:59
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:28:00
Speaker 2: But it was almost like they thought the audience was dumb. So they're like, okay, we got to make sure the audience is understanding that she's cheating. It's like, bro, we get it.
00:28:08
Speaker 1: Because in all honesty, you smell like someone else. I didn't even think about fucking Frank. Really? I was thinking of the mother.
00:28:14
Speaker 3: Well, we hadn't seen Frank yet.
00:28:16
Speaker 1: So that's why I didn't think that she would smell like Frank.
00:28:20
Speaker 3: I took the context of the dad and then the way that the mom reacted and then them showing his face like she was cheating and he knew.
00:28:28
Speaker 1: It makes sense now.
00:28:29
Speaker 3: And she was like, I work late. He's like, again, for the team. They, I think, set that up.
00:28:36
Speaker 1: You're saying all of that now, it makes sense, but at this moment in time, I didn't know if she was, I didn't know if the other mother was flip-flopping back and forth. Got it, got it. I didn't know what the fuck the other mother was.
00:28:46
Speaker 2: I didn't think about it that hard when she said you smell like somebody else. I thought she was just saying, okay, you smell like regular mommy, and I'm used to hanging out with other, I don't know.
00:28:53
Speaker 1: That's what I was thinking, too.
00:28:54
Speaker 3: I was trying to figure out what the movie was, and that's what I thought about. I was like, okay, so what is this movie? Is the mama finna be cheating, and then she used the other, like, trying to replace the moms. I'm trying to figure out why the other mommy.
00:29:04
Speaker 1: Exists, since.
00:29:06
Speaker 2: heavy because look here's the reason why because like it there's no reason why they show all of us in the trailer and then they made the reveal so early of the other entity like you said so now i'm sitting here trying to figure out okay but what's.
00:29:18
Speaker 1: Deeper we're we're on the same road we're traveling different speeds or whatever we're going to the same destination i'm thinking the same thing no i know i'm slower no i know i'm slower in this particular instance mike because he put it together faster than i did Because I'm thinking that this whole other mother thing was, I didn't know if she was real or fake. So, you know, we're thinking the same thing. It's like, okay, is this the real one? Is this motherfucker even, like, real at all? Gotcha. You know, so I'm trying to figure out what the movie is. So for me, other mother flips back and forth between one and the other. And when she's the regular mom, she smells different than the other mommy that she knows. So that's what I'm thinking.

00:30:44
Speaker 1: But either way it go, like at this point now, Frank is like, yo, come stay with me. You already know where I stay. So boom, they get there. And this snitching ass motherfucking kid, bro.
00:30:56
Speaker 2: But you know what, though? It wasn't even all the way the kid's fault. It's not. The mom was stupid. All she had to do was be like, oh, I just came out of there. I must have dropped her. I must have put him down.
00:31:07
Speaker 1: Mike, it was sitting on the fucking couch. Right.
00:31:10
Speaker 2: How did your thing get here? Oh, I must have just put them down. Like, what the fuck? It wasn't that, it wasn't that hard. But she, and then, of course, the fucking daddo's little bitch ass, fucking, then he puts it together and just gives the gun back. I'm just going to go in the other room and pout. You fucking pussy, you.
00:31:30
Speaker 3: Yeah, like you didn't know. Like, did you just not find it in this aisle, bro?
00:31:34
Speaker 2: Oh, this part was, but, I take, this is, this is where, and I'm, that's why I'm with you, Spike. that this is probably where I would have walked out, because this is where everything started to fall apart. When the thing attacked Frank, my first issue was, how come don't nobody hear the gunshots? It took the parents entirely too long to come out the fucking room and come downstairs and look around at what's happening. I was sitting there like, wait a minute, this thing is attacking Frank. Frank is screaming. Frank done got thrown through some glass. Frank done shot the creature 12 times. And I'm sitting here like, oh, this must be a dream because the parents haven't come out the room yet. The parents finally come out the room. This fucking hoe runs towards the fucking demon to save her side piece. And Datto's still sitting there like, whatever. I'm fucking you up.
00:32:30
Speaker 1: Yes.
00:32:31
Speaker 2: I'm throwing you to the demon. Go ahead, demon. Eat her ass. Because Frank was.
00:32:37
Speaker 1: I couldn't believe she was like, Frank!
00:32:38
Speaker 2: This was crazy.
00:32:40
Speaker 1: Your daughter is right there!
00:32:42
Speaker 3: She even acknowledged the daughter.
00:32:44
Speaker 2: Bro, what the fuck are we watching? What the fuck are we watching? This was the most... Horror movies don't have to be realistic. But at least treat your audience like we're not stupid. This made no sense. They didn't set the actual mother, the real mother... They didn't set her up to be this uncaring.
00:33:07
Speaker 1: No.
00:33:07
Speaker 2: So for her to just be like, oh, I'm not worried about my daughter being afraid. I need my side dick right now. What are we doing? Now, this part of other mommy fucking his ass up, that was actually.
00:33:18
Speaker 1: Kind of tight. Yeah, I was going to say that. That's why I was surprised you wanted to walk out here, because I like the way he kind of, you know what they say, exploded into pieces of stars or something. You know, popped like a balloon. That was kind of dope. I was like, oh, shit. They... kill somebody.
00:33:33
Speaker 3: But yeah the kill scene was good it was the reaction to her responding to the thing just everything he just said and i was like bro no no not frank what's the we don't have the code of course and she knew of course she knows she knew the.
00:33:48
Speaker 2: Code i was like bro what the fuck dad don't need to fucking leave her ass there and tell the little girl oh i'm sorry the mommy got her.
00:33:56
Speaker 1: And then there was oh we forgot we love i'm gonna just say bucko which is that doll And the mommy didn't even acknowledge that. So I'm like, dang. I'm like, dang. Again, is this mommy real? But yeah, yeah. That whole scene, like, one of them should have worked up a lot faster. But anyway, so now they go.
00:34:13
Speaker 3: To your point of walking out here, it was because it changed into that other thing.
00:34:19
Speaker 2: Like I asked y'all, what was the other mommy? I really had no idea at this point.
00:34:23
Speaker 1: What other thing?
00:34:24
Speaker 2: It changed into another creature.
00:34:25
Speaker 3: It morphed into like a big, like.
00:34:27
Speaker 2: Creature with big glowing eyes tell me i didn't want you to see me like oh yeah.
00:34:33
Speaker 3: Yeah i remember so now i'm thinking this is like is this an ai thing like i did.
00:34:36
Speaker 2: Just it was i did think that because the fingers yeah when she was like you have too many fingers i was like oh my god are we making another allegory for ai movie come on man.
00:34:46
Speaker 1: Um at this point they decided to go to the mom's house After they go to the next scene was the balloon thing.
00:34:55
Speaker 3: They went to this place to rest.
00:34:59
Speaker 2: They decide. This dude just got killed.
00:35:05
Speaker 1: Popped into pizza.
00:35:07
Speaker 2: Bro, they decide to go to fucking Chuck E.
00:35:08
Speaker 1: Cheese.
00:35:09
Speaker 2: Ain't nobody going to see no doctor.
00:35:12
Speaker 3: Ain't nobody called the police. It ain't nobody.
00:35:15
Speaker 1: Nobody would believe him, Spike. I don't care.
00:35:17
Speaker 3: Why are we going to Billy Bob's? Don't you want to see what's wrong with yourself?
00:35:21
Speaker 2: This is ridiculous, bro.
00:35:22
Speaker 1: But they all seen it, though.
00:35:23
Speaker 2: Like, bro, go check into some, like, nah, bro. You're not going to fucking Pizza Palace. At this point, they know other mommy can appear anywhere.
00:35:32
Speaker 1: God, bro.
00:35:33
Speaker 2: So you seriously taking her to Showbiz Pizza? And you're going to let her go jump around in the fucking ball pit? And then you're like, where's my daughter? You stupid fuck. You stupid fuck. Are you serious? You're the worst dad of the year, bro.
00:35:49
Speaker 3: Oh, my God, bro. This whole scene, this whole thing was just bad because it didn't make no sense.
00:35:56
Speaker 2: It really didn't make any sense.
00:35:57
Speaker 3: And you do suspend belief in horror movies, like Mike is saying, and I ain't been sitting here being obtuse about it being a horror movie. But this was just bad, though. Like, this just don't make, like. At some point in time, I would have liked to have seen someone else get involved versus the people at the end that were the hunters. Yeah, just like a sane person. This movie lacked sane people. Everybody was fucking crazy.
00:36:23
Speaker 2: It did.
00:36:23
Speaker 1: And I would have.
00:36:24
Speaker 3: Liked to have just seen one sane person be like, bro, y'all might need to go check yourself in or something.
00:36:31
Speaker 2: Because even when all this shit was going on, at the fucking pizza place and they're screaming and hollering there's all these people around this little fucking kid appeared in the car with all the balls yeah first of all I didn't understand how they knew to run outside because how did you know she was even out there you go out there and all these people are standing around and they see your daughter pop up in the back of the car and you open the car and she fall out and a bunch of balls come with her at this point I was just like this movie is fucking garbage This is absolute garbage because this makes no sense. And if the movie wasn't bad prior to this, I could probably let all this go because if I went to a parking lot and somebody opened the back of their car and a bunch of balls fall out and there's little girls back there, I'm going to be like, okay, something ain't right here, but it's not my problem. It's none of my business. I'm going to go ahead and go.
00:37:27
Speaker 1: Maybe. Maybe, because they're running around frantically in this whole place looking for the daughter, screaming out loud.
00:37:33
Speaker 2: I'm going to be like, well, y'all found her. I don't know why the fuck you got these balls in the backseat.
00:37:37
Speaker 1: And it was a bunch of water.
00:37:38
Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, that's right, because she fell in the water. Oh, that bothered me, too. Other mommy dropped her ass in the Pacific Ocean.
00:37:45
Speaker 3: You want to go swim?
00:37:46
Speaker 2: You want to go swimming? What in the fuck?
00:37:50
Speaker 1: And took her to the house to get the doll, which I don't know why. Because that had nothing to do with the rest of the movie.
00:37:56
Speaker 3: So at this point, she's terrifying this little girl, but still looking to get her to say yes to let her into her heart. That made no fucking sense to me.
00:38:03
Speaker 2: It's because the demon was telling her that I can make it to where you'll never be scared again. But here's the thing.
00:38:10
Speaker 1: By scaring her.
00:38:12
Speaker 2: Why did the little girl even know to say no? Like, if you're a little kid and this thing pops up and says, oh, let me into your heart. Oh, of course. I love you or whatever. Yes, you can come into my heart. Why was the little girl like, nah, bro, nah, I can't do this?
00:38:29
Speaker 1: Because she saw her turn into a paper bag thing under the pots and pans.
00:38:33
Speaker 2: But she was asking him before that.
00:38:35
Speaker 3: Oh, no, she wasn't asking him before that.
00:38:37
Speaker 2: She was. You can imply that the demon thing has been asking her over and over again, but they give us no reason to understand why the little girl would have said no.
00:38:47
Speaker 1: And at this point, by this point, I'm confused. I'm like, all right, none of this is making sense. You're going back and forth between these different worlds that I don't know if it's real, but then I get confirmation that, yeah, she can actually, you know, teleport to different places, you know, and now you're coming back to this place because now it's water and these balloons. So you can actually go different places. You can fucking disappear. So this shit is fucking real. But I'm also wondering, like, okay, you keep talking about this water and shit. Did she fucking drown? So is she real? Did she drown? Did the mom drown? Is the mom... Like, I'm asking all these questions because the movie's not making sense to me. None.
00:39:29
Speaker 2: So.
00:39:30
Speaker 1: at this point, I'm like, I don't know what the fuck's going on. So you're in this car, magically. The parents know what's going on. They're frightened. They're terrible. The mom should have cussed him out. And everybody else at that place that see this shit happen, they're not asking any questions. Everybody just let it go. And they were like, oh, I'm glad you got your daughter back. Like, nah, bro. Where did all this water come from? And how did these fucking balls from in there get in here? Y'all stealing these shits? Right.
00:39:58
Speaker 3: Not even like, wait.
00:39:59
Speaker 1: And when did you take them out of there?
00:40:01
Speaker 3: Y'all was looking for y'all daughter.
00:40:03
Speaker 1: And she was in the backseat. In the ball pit.
00:40:05
Speaker 3: And y'all was raising the ruckus in the facility. And all of a sudden, like Mike said, we think that, oh, let's go look outside. And if I'm there, because I'm an Ozy kid, they can't find their daughter. What's going on? They thought she was in the ball pit. And if I followed them outside and she's in the car with balls from the ball pit, it just.
00:40:27
Speaker 2: Wouldn't go over as seamlessly as it did. And she's soaking wet. I'm asking questions.
00:40:33
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:40:34
Speaker 2: What's going on here?
00:40:35
Speaker 1: Now, the only thing I would say is that from this point, they probably just got in the car and hot-tailed it out. It was like, all right, fine. We're going to go to my mama. Fine.
00:40:43
Speaker 2: But they went home.
00:40:44
Speaker 1: No, they went to the mall first. Yep. They went to the mall with the ghost. Yeah.
00:40:50
Speaker 3: Because they sit in the car. I think they sit in the car and try to figure out what to do at this point. And the mall was the last.
00:40:55
Speaker 1: Resort, right? Yeah, the mall was the last resort. Because they was thinking about calling. They went to see the mall. You're right.
00:40:58
Speaker 2: They went to the mall first. And that was where we get one of the worst scenes of the whole fucking movie.
00:41:03
Speaker 1: Yeah. So they went to the mall. And the mall was like, yeah. Gave her some old person advice about, you know, life is full of pain.
00:41:12
Speaker 2: And.
00:41:13
Speaker 1: Whatever, whatever.
00:41:14
Speaker 2: You choose who you let in your heart. Shut your old ass up.
00:41:18
Speaker 3: I had to cut a lot of this out because I feel like the mom's character play was what, it was way, it should have been way more significant and wild if this shit was happening because she kept mentioning like her mom would know what to do and she didn't want to go to her.
00:41:30
Speaker 1: Like this came up before. I didn't realize it because I thought the mom really knew. To your point, I was like, okay, the mom really knows.
00:41:39
Speaker 3: Yeah, it sounded like it.
00:41:40
Speaker 1: But the mom had been getting scammed by these ghost hunter people this whole time, bro. All that shit was fake. I mean, they found the ghost. Yeah, but remember, she's like, oh, yeah, it's your dad. I guess you've been talking to your dad. She's like, yeah, I just finished talking to him. No, the fuck you hadn't. You ain't been talking to your dad at all. Like, no. So, yeah, you set it up early. It was like, yeah, you know, your mom into that shit. She would know what to do. You go there.
00:42:08
Speaker 3: Then she don't know shit.
00:42:10
Speaker 1: And she don't really know shit because it revealed that they were scamming because the first ghost that they caught was this entity thing.
00:42:18
Speaker 2: And they didn't really catch it. The entity decided to show up. They didn't really do anything. He was going to come. Other Mommy was going to come regardless.
00:42:26
Speaker 1: You think so?
00:42:27
Speaker 2: Yeah, because Other Mommy wants the little girl. So Other Mommy was going to come regardless. They didn't really do shit. Yeah, but had equipment set up, basically.
00:42:35
Speaker 1: Right.
00:42:36
Speaker 2: They just captured it on video or whatever the fuck.
00:42:38
Speaker 1: You're like, we did it. We finally caught our first one.
00:42:43
Speaker 2: We said, I told you this was a scam.
00:42:46
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:42:46
Speaker 3: Like, the tone was all over the place, man.
00:42:49
Speaker 1: Yeah. So killed her, right? And I don't know if it killed anybody else. And then Bella got teleported back out to the damn beach.
00:43:00
Speaker 3: To the ocean.
00:43:02
Speaker 1: Yeah. There she is. Well, the dog found her. I was like, that dog ain't real. That dog don't snatch your ass up. And they were like, fine, we might as well go fucking home. But you said this is the worst scene in the movie? Yes.
00:43:18
Speaker 2: This irritated the shit out of me. When they go home and the dad starts fucking making jokes and they're laughing. I'm like, wait a minute.
00:43:28
Speaker 1: Wait a minute.
00:43:31
Speaker 2: One, why the fuck did y'all go back home? Two, why are y'all acting like ain't shit happened? You over here making fucking champagne drinks. Time to go give your mommy a glass. We going to cheers. Let me put some music on. I'm going to play Ricky Martin and we're going to dance. What the fuck is this?
00:43:50
Speaker 1: That's what Bella said.
00:43:52
Speaker 2: I was Bella in that moment. I'm like, what the fuck is wrong with y'all?
00:43:55
Speaker 3: The tone didn't make no sense.
00:43:56
Speaker 2: None. None.
00:43:57
Speaker 3: They were just like, oh, well, let's just forget it. And he went, hey, we know it's going to come, so let's just deal with it.
00:44:02
Speaker 1: Well, I think it kind of made sense for them to go home because it's following them every fucking where. So fine, let's just take our ass back home. Now, I would have been upset I had to clean all this shit up. And I kind of get him saying, you know what, this thing is terrifying. It's fucking us up. Let me at least... try to lighten the mood, remove some of the tensions. My wife's a fucking cheater, you know, so I'm going to try to at least, you know, try to do my daddy old thing. And Bella was like, nah, you need to stop. And they were talking about, they were dressing up in costumes, and you pick a weapon, and you pick this, and all this other shit. I'm like, none of that shit's going to fucking work anyway.
00:44:39
Speaker 2: And where did they get all of this shit from? Who the fuck has that many knives and axes and shit? Man, come on, dude. Like, these are normal people. They got a fucking whole array of weapons in their house like this? They have an arsenal in their house of bladed weapons.
00:44:57
Speaker 1: And it didn't work?
00:44:58
Speaker 2: Of course not.
00:44:59
Speaker 1: None of this shit fucking worked. Yeah, other mommy was doing a thing. So now they're being attacked by other mommy and all this other shit. And the key to it all. Because this one, it showed up as daddy-o and all the other shit. So this is the part that got me. Because I've been waiting this whole movie, Spike. I'm like, all right.
00:45:26
Speaker 3: All she had to do.
00:45:27
Speaker 1: So now, what is this bit secret? You know, is Bella really dead? Is the mommy really dead? Did they all fucking die in the ocean because they kept going to the ocean? What the fuck is the big secret that's going on with this movie? Or why does it fucking want Bella? Is it really as simple as I'm just a trickster demon? And she was like, I'm just going to tell you the truth.
00:45:54
Speaker 3: It's even more simple than that.
00:45:56
Speaker 1: I didn't want you. Honestly, I just didn't want to have your fucking ass. That's it. You know, like Mike called her a whole earlier. She kind of was like, yeah, you know what? I was married, and I started having an affair, and this is the truth. I'm going to tell you the truth. You know, yeah, Beth is not your dad. Not your biological father. And I was married to another man when she met Russ and began having an affair with him. No fucking shit, okay? So this is the big secret. And that made her upset. And that's when she was like, you know what? Yeah, you can come into my heart. And we're like, ah. Then she flashed back to the grandma. She was like, oh, no. This pissed me off, dude. I'm like, and then that was it. That's how she killed the thing. And then we're at the end.
00:46:36
Speaker 2: But no, the thing came over. And was saying something like, you know, they're all liars.
00:46:42
Speaker 1: You'll never be scared again.
00:46:43
Speaker 2: She's like, well, good thing I'm a liar like them.
00:46:45
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:46:46
Speaker 2: Oh, come on, man. Come on. Who wrote this?
00:46:50
Speaker 1: Put it in, hugged it, and then you saw the face and stuff like that. And then the flashback, you're like, yeah, I'm a liar like them or whatever. I'm like, all right. Fucking bullshit.
00:46:58
Speaker 3: I have to tell you the truth. I didn't want you.
00:47:02
Speaker 2: Bitch, what? Are y'all fucking kidding me, man? Can we discuss how he was holding the monster back? Can we discuss how this demon can go from room to room, from place to place, can pop up wherever the fuck the demon feels like popping up at, except in the bedroom when there's a fucking dresser blocking the door. Then the demon is weak as fuck and can't get through the door. Oh, my God. The demon can punch holes in the door, but it can't get through it.
00:47:31
Speaker 3: It has six heads, Mike.
00:47:33
Speaker 1: Bro.
00:47:34
Speaker 3: Could not get through the door.
00:47:35
Speaker 2: Could not get through this door. I was sitting there like, what in the fuck? And the demon bit the woman's neck. None of that really went anywhere. I thought she was dead. I thought she was dead too, but nope. Now she has a zipper just like the little kid. But that didn't even go nowhere. I guess they were trying to imply that they were not great parents, which fine. And now I guess they're also trying to imply that because the parents weren't great parents, Bella ended up getting a scar. But now... The mom has a scar just like Bella.
00:48:08
Speaker 1: It was a physical and an internal scar.
00:48:10
Speaker 2: Yeah, but it was just like, who fucking cares, dude?
00:48:14
Speaker 1: You child get scarred. Because that looked like a big-ass fucking scar. I don't know what the fuck they were doing when they were drinking wine.
00:48:21
Speaker 2: What did this kid fall on?
00:48:23
Speaker 1: What the fuck?
00:48:24
Speaker 2: Who split this kid's whole back open?
00:48:27
Speaker 1: Yeah, because that's how she killed the thing, because she just ripped the scar, ripped into the scar and just ripped it apart. Oh, God, man. But at this point, I'm like, y'all, please get me out of here. Yes. Because I'm like, that's the big reveal that he's not your real dad.
00:48:43
Speaker 2: Who cares?
00:48:43
Speaker 3: I didn't want you there until today.
00:48:47
Speaker 2: What? Are you fucking kidding me? But how did they know that that's what they had to do in order to stop the demon? I was wondering if I missed something.
00:48:55
Speaker 1: He didn't.
00:48:56
Speaker 2: Because he was like, do it. You got to tell her now. How do you know that? Who told you that if you tell her this, the demon would go away?
00:49:04
Speaker 1: Because I don't think Bella or the grandmother, I don't think any of them told him.
00:49:08
Speaker 3: It was mentioned.
00:49:09
Speaker 1: Somebody said that there was a trickster.
00:49:10
Speaker 2: At some point in time, it was mentioned that once she wasn't innocent anymore, that the demon wouldn't want her.
00:49:17
Speaker 1: I think it was when they were talking about what type of demon it was, because they were like, it's a trickster, and it's trying to get from where it's at into the real world. And I think that's when it was talking about something about innocent or whatever.
00:49:27
Speaker 2: But how would they know that that would take away the little girl's innocence? Couldn't they do anything? Hey, your little doll Vulture, Vulture, it's not real. Hey, there's no Easter Bunny. Hey, there's no Santa Claus. How did they know that they specifically had to do this one thing?
00:49:44
Speaker 1: Yeah, but, yeah, yeah, but wouldn't the entity already know that too? What? I'm trying to understand. Now that we're questioning.
00:49:54
Speaker 2: I don't think it was the entity knowing. I think it was a little girl knowing.
00:49:57
Speaker 1: But how does that make her innocent not knowing that?
00:50:00
Speaker 2: Right.
00:50:00
Speaker 3: Because she thought that was her daddy.
00:50:01
Speaker 2: But so what? Why does that take away her innocence? Like, now she's not innocent anymore because she knows that her dad's not her dad? Like, what?
00:50:10
Speaker 1: What?
00:50:10
Speaker 3: I think that's what they were trying to say.
00:50:11
Speaker 2: Yeah, it just doesn't make any sense.
00:50:13
Speaker 1: Or was it innocent? Or was it that she just lied? Is it really as simple as, yes, you can come into my heart. No, psych, I'm just playing. And because I lied, I'm no longer innocent.
00:50:25
Speaker 3: No, I thought the innocence was like... So it is tied to the story. Her perfect world was shattered in the sense of, this is my dad, this is my mom. And from what I'm assuming, the entity was even triggered because the mom was cheap. The girl noticed that the mom was acting different towards the day. She just wanted her family to be happy.
00:50:45
Speaker 2: Like, wouldn't her innocence be gone then?
00:50:47
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
00:50:49
Speaker 2: More than finding out that their dad's not her dad. It just didn't make any goddamn sense.
00:50:54
Speaker 1: Yeah, because she was like, you know what the family's doing. You know everything ain't right, right? But I guess maybe because she was holding on to it in her heart that it was in her mind.
00:51:02
Speaker 3: It was still innocent.
00:51:03
Speaker 1: It was still innocent.
00:51:04
Speaker 2: But here's the thing. If other mommy is telling Bella... hey, Uncle Frank is fucked up, and your regular mommy is fucked up, wouldn't that prompt Bella, who clearly wasn't a very smart kid, if this was a smarter child, wouldn't that prompt Bella to start asking questions? Like, maybe go and be like, Mommy, what's up with Uncle Frank? Or Daddo, what's up with Uncle Frank?
00:51:29
Speaker 1: But she kind of did, and she was like, you know what? And Daddy-O was like, you know, sometimes people can fall in love with other people, too. That's his explanation for it. At the ballpark.
00:51:39
Speaker 2: But how did other mommy know that that line of questioning would not lead the parents to be like, okay, look, mommy has been having an affair. And that would take her innocence right there. And that would only happen because other mommy was telling her shit. It just didn't. This movie didn't make... And since we're at the fucking end, the end didn't even make any fucking sense. Why were they outside in the fucking snow and he's wearing shorts?
00:52:09
Speaker 1: Why do white people do that shit? You're right. Never mind. You're right.
00:52:15
Speaker 2: It still bothered me, but you're right.
00:52:18
Speaker 1: Yeah. But... And then this was supposed to be the big reveal. First of all, he's really a better man than I am. But nevertheless, it was like, all right, we're all the whole happy family. And they did the whole closet thing. And mommy has a scar, too. And then she's smiling. And then they walk off, and she starts frowning again. I was like, she fucking hate them, bro. Yeah. She hates her whole life.
00:52:45
Speaker 3: She hates it there.
00:52:47
Speaker 2: She says she wishes she was other Molly right now. I wish I had went with her. She can come in my heart. I'm sick of this shit.
00:52:55
Speaker 1: Come get me out of here. She hates Datto. She hates Datto and the girl. She hates them. She's fucking miserable.
00:53:03
Speaker 2: She didn't want you no way.
00:53:05
Speaker 1: Oh, man. I was like, bro, she is. This movie sucked, man. And you don't know, it was a post-credits scene.
00:53:11
Speaker 3: Oh, I left.
00:53:12
Speaker 1: What was postpartum? It was just other mommy doing shit. I jogged. Are you serious? Yeah. I had to find it. I found a clip on YouTube. I jogged. I jogged. It really wasn't shit. But yeah. So at that point, I'm like, wait a minute. So wait. So is this just a movie about like- A demon. Postpartum. And then I was like, abortion having a kid that you don't want to have like what what is this what are we doing here my women being stuck in families that they don't want to be part of like i don't want to be in this family but i'm here because of my poor decisions that you did again with.
00:53:50
Speaker 2: This fucking family i think that's women putting some sauce on this movie because because if this was really just about not just about but if this was really about postpartum First of all, this is some late stage postpartum because that kid was fucking 14 or some shit.
00:54:06
Speaker 1: So that was weird.
00:54:08
Speaker 2: And the mommy, regular mommy, was not a good person at all. If she wasn't doing this cheating shit, if they were trying to push this idea of, oh, this is about women being stuck in situations that they don't want to be in, they could have just made it to where Uncle Frank was Datto's friend And at some point, Uncle Frank made a move on Mommy. Mommy said no, but kept it from Datto because she wanted them to stay friends. And y'all could have still done all of this whole shit with, oh, Uncle Frank is a bad person. He deserves to die. And Mommy's been hiding his secret, so Datto is her. You could have done all that, and Mommy still looks like a good person. But you had her cheating. So then that makes her a shitty person.
00:54:55
Speaker 1: Twice.
00:54:56
Speaker 3: And then even on facts.
00:54:57
Speaker 1: Twice. Twice.
00:54:58
Speaker 2: And on top of cheating, coming out at the end and being like, oh, I didn't even want you. Well, that part, I get why women would identify with that. Because I'm sure that just speaks to the whole idea of having a child by accident, but still loving that child.
00:55:12
Speaker 3: Agree, but I'm just talking about the bad person part.
00:55:15
Speaker 2: I don't think that makes him a bad person. Telling your child you didn't want him? But she had to. That's the only way to get rid of other mommy.
00:55:21
Speaker 1: Right.
00:55:21
Speaker 2: Because other mommy's over here fucking shit up.
00:55:23
Speaker 1: If anything, what real mommy should have did was like, yeah, you can take this motherfucker. You can solve my problem.
00:55:30
Speaker 2: Yeah, because I didn't want her anyway.
00:55:32
Speaker 1: Maybe that's what she was trying to do. She was like, I'm going to tell you the truth. Could be. Could be. And then they were like, God damn it, it didn't work.
00:55:40
Speaker 2: She didn't know what the actual rule was. She's like, maybe if I tell this little motherfucker that I didn't want her, she'll go with another mommy and I can go find me another side dick.
00:55:49
Speaker 1: And she was like, nah, psych. But to your point, as we get ready to wrap up, even before she had the kid, she was a bad person.
00:55:56
Speaker 3: Yes.
00:55:56
Speaker 1: Because she was in a marriage. Yes. So she was just a piece of shit anyway.
00:56:00
Speaker 3: She was, yes.
00:56:01
Speaker 1: She just, there were consequences of her cheating anyway. Yes. That led to her getting a divorce and being stuck with this guy that's not working. Because they made the guy practically fucking worthless. Yeah. You know, so. Anyway. This was horrible, man. Yeah, it was pretty bad, bro. This was horrible. And it was people in the theater watching because of that fucking trailer. Yeah.
00:56:23
Speaker 3: I couldn't believe it.
00:56:23
Speaker 2: I'm one of them.
00:56:24
Speaker 1: I mean, we were, too, but just seeing the other people that were in attendance.
00:56:28
Speaker 3: People enjoyed it, though.
00:56:30
Speaker 1: No.
00:56:30
Speaker 3: I'm telling you.
00:56:31
Speaker 1: No, no.
00:56:32
Speaker 3: I walked out and legit heard a lady say, well, that was a.
00:56:36
Speaker 1: 10 out of 10. That's one lady. I'm talking about all these other people. Well, you're right.
00:56:40
Speaker 3: Okay, that blew me away, even that.
00:56:41
Speaker 1: Yeah, me too.
00:56:42
Speaker 3: She said 10 out of 10, kid.
00:56:44
Speaker 2: I think she was blind and deaf, and she didn't know what she was sitting in on.
00:56:47
Speaker 1: She probably didn't watch a lot of movies, or she was like, that's me. Oh, that's her, yeah. Yeah, that's me. I feel that. She felt that shit. I think I know the scene that got her. When the family walked away, and she looked, and that smile went to a fucking frown. She was like, you know what? I've been there. That's me.
00:57:03
Speaker 2: She said, I'm there right now.
00:57:04
Speaker 1: She said, I'm about to go home and be that person. That's funny. Anyway, man, that's it, man. Fuck this movie. Fuck this movie. Yeah, real disappointment, man. Huge. Yeah, but it is what it is. All right, man, well, let us know how much you guys enjoyed this movie. We'll catch you guys next time. We out, peace.
