00:00:00.083 --> 00:00:02.915
So you've decided you want a quick disconnect on your bow.
00:00:02.915 --> 00:00:08.000
And now you have to decide are you going to go with a straight or down angle quick disconnect.
00:00:08.000 --> 00:00:09.708
So what does that mean?
00:00:09.708 --> 00:00:12.750
A straight or zero degree qdc is the most common.
00:00:12.750 --> 00:00:20.707
And what that does is it mounts the stabilizer coming straight out of the front stabilizer bushing, just like if you threaded it directly into the bow.
00:00:20.707 --> 00:00:24.500
But you get that benefit of the quick installation and removal.
00:00:24.500 --> 00:00:36.332
The down angle qdc works in the same way and provides the same benefits, but the surface where the stabilizer connects to is going to be slanted, tilting it down towards the ground.
00:00:36.540 --> 00:00:39.165
So why might you want that on your bow?
00:00:39.165 --> 00:00:43.665
Well, the biggest reason is that it's going to change the weight distribution of the bow.
00:00:43.665 --> 00:00:50.332
By lowering the weighted end of the stabilizer, you're also lowering the bow center of gravity.
00:00:50.332 --> 00:00:56.500
Some archers feel that this gives the bow a more stable or torque resistant feeling at full draw.
00:00:56.500 --> 00:01:09.125
Some archers find that the sight picture settles faster, and still others like how it helps resist the effects of canting or how the bow rolls forward more predictably after the shot.
00:01:09.125 --> 00:01:21.500
The exact effect that you're going to have is going to vary from person to person, and it can be affected by things like your grip pressure, how much weight you're using on the end of the stabilizer, and what kind of aiming pattern you like.
00:01:21.500 --> 00:01:26.582
But regardless, most people are going to immediately notice a different balance and feel.
00:01:32.000 --> 00:01:33.332
So here's how to choose.
00:01:33.332 --> 00:01:39.750
If you already like how your bow balances and holds, then you can just stick with a straight qdc and you'll be good to go.
00:01:39.750 --> 00:01:41.207
That is the most popular option.
00:01:41.207 --> 00:01:47.290
However, if you're looking for an easy way to play with your bows reaction, gain a more stable feel.
00:01:47.290 --> 00:01:53.125
Lower that center of gravity, then the down angle qdc can be a great choice to do some experimenting.
00:01:53.125 --> 00:01:59.082
There's no right or wrong answer here, and whether you choose the eight, the ten, or the straight, the goal is the same.
00:01:59.082 --> 00:02:04.500
We're trying to build a stabilizer system and setup that works for you and your shot.
00:02:04.540 --> 00:02:08.250
So we're curious, are you shooting the straight qdc?
00:02:08.250 --> 00:02:09.832
Are you shooting a down angle?
00:02:09.832 --> 00:02:13.875
Drop a comment below and let us know what you're doing and why.
00:02:13.875 --> 00:02:15.457
