john: Hey, how's it going, guys? This is your host, JB. We are live from the shed. I am here again with my cousin Will. Will, how are we doing tonight? Doing good, doing good. it's Tuesday night, and we are looking forward to a good show. So thanks for joining on Chew the Clock. let's give a quick rundown of what we're gonna be talking about tonight. we had a big opening weekend in college football. So we're gonna talk about that a little bit, talk about how we feel about what our predictions were before the season. Yep. after that, you know, it's it's only one weekend, but maybe s maybe some stuff's changed. There's some stuff that happened. some big Patriots news with the extension of Christian Gonzalez finally. Crafty Bob finally ponied up. So that's good. And so we'll talk about that. We'll talk about our predictions for the Pats game. And then we're gonna do maybe a little bit of gambling talk. S a parlay possibly and have a little debate Will and I were having off screen earlier about big debate, big debate whether we like movies or T V series more. And Will, you are you ready this week for your movie of the week segment? I can't wait. Okay, so when Will's on, we're gonna try to do movies I've seen this week. you know, maybe when I get to ch get to watch movies I can contribute, but we'll see. Absolutely. Give you some suggestions. Yeah and then and then I'll probably throw in another recipe at the end. So Let's start off, Will. busy week in college football. great week. Lotta dominant wins by big programs. your LSU Tigers had a huge win against Clemson, who I mean, not to undersell the win at all. I'm thinking we might have I think Clemson might be past their prime a little bit. Debo Sweeney, the game might be passing them by. I was expecting a little bit more. I mean, you know, all credit to L S U. You can't take anything away from them. But I think I think last year a lot of people had big hopes for Clemson and now they're kinda seeing the you know the the the coach has turned into a pumpkin type of thing. I agree. But he's I mean they've they've times have passed them by. Mm hmm. And Dabo does refuses to he won't even get anyone out of the transfer port. No, he refuses to go to the new style of how to win for college football and it's not two thousand eighteen anymore. Which I mean That's why Nick Saban left and Nick Saban was smart enough to know that his way of doing things was coming to an end. So it's better to walk away from the game on your own terms than kinda become a joke like Dave O'Sweeney's becoming. But I don't think I mean he is their Bear Bryant for Clemson, so he's not going anywhere. Yeah. no, yeah. He never w I mean, but Clemson isn't a traditional you know, we're talking about the blue bloods. They're defin they're not even close to a blue blood. No, no, no, no. So, so yeah, so LSU had a big win. My Miami Hurricanes had a big win. Big wins across the board. How do you feel about your preseason pick of Oregon winning the national title? Really struggling with Boise State? unranked Boise State. Unranked State still I mean a historically pretty good program. But yeah. But and I th and I think at the end of the year, when we're looking at who's gonna be that group of five, group of six now team, it's They're gonna Boise State's gonna be in there. Yeah, I mean they they received votes for the top twenty five. They're not they're not bums by any. No, and I think I think they have a really good now that they've they've battled Oregon, mm hmm. it wasn't resume. Good it's great for their resume and I think it's good it's gonna be at the end of the day. This weekend, of course, it's like, my god, they struggle with Boise. but like you said, Boise's always been a good team. they'll be there at the end. So they're not in the pack twelve by now, I don't. really understand that. I think they are. they are. They are. The new Pac twelve. Okay. Yeah. But the Pac twelve is no longer no longer a power conference. It's like the slugs. It's a group of four now not a group of twelve. Oregon state all them team most teams. Right. They should have been in the they had a Pac twelve or whatever they were yeah, Mountain West. Mountain West, right. So But no, I think I mean Oregon struggled a little bit, but I think the quarterback he put him on his back and he Brought him down. He knew we cannot have a game where we falter. You cannot lose to Boise State from week one. yeah, if you if they had ha if that if they had lost that game, you know, it wouldn't have been a conference loss, but it's just not a good look. It's not a good look. But I think like you s like I said, it's not the best where you want to be, but I think it's a good team. They're gonna be there at the end. so I can't complain about it. It's week one. These things happen. And your other pick for the finals, Notre Dame. I mean, the final score was pretty dominant. They definitely pulled away in the second half, but they struggled against Wisconsin as well. I mean Wisconsin another good program though. Yeah. And I mean they're they're not you know, I mean they kinda had some rust and they looked like a Notre Dame looked like a team that had lost two first round running backs. And Or actually I don't know if I don't know if the other running back was first round, but he was a I think he was I know he was a top hundred pick. I know that. So so yeah, I mean they looked like, you know, kind of figured it out and then they kinda turned it on in the second half. The defense looked really good. Too much talent. Yeah, yeah. I think I think I think a lot of teams in week one, you know, you wanna you do all these things in preseason. You wanna do your little stunts. Yep. You wanna do your little gimmicks and gadgets, but at the end of the day you have better teet players than the other team. Right. So a lot of times they try that stuff in the first half, it doesn't go the way they want, and then the second half they come out and they just move the they run downhill, they play straight ahead defense and they do you sh it shows on the field. So I think that's exactly what happened for a lot of these teams. I mean I wanna go back to LSU, they steamrolled. I think they look amazing. Yep. Yep. they have sway we have swagger back. And I think I mean Malachi Tony. We talked about I thought he was I thought he was the best player of the weekend. I mean without like easily. Talking so Malachi Tony. Two hundred sixteen yards? Yeah. So he had Malachi Tony plays for my Miami Hurricanes and they weren't one of those teams that struggled at the beginning of the game. I mean, I think first drive he had three yard three catches, seventy five yards and a touchdown. He finished the game with twelve catches, two hundred and thirty four yards and three touchdowns. That's like Randy Moss. So I mean that's like and h they pulled him, you know, with four minutes to go in the third quarter. Yeah. So I mean that could be a special pairing. I would have liked to seen our run game do a little bit more. They didn't really run the ball quite as much as I would have liked, but I think that Stanford was really like saw what Fletcher in the running game did in the college football playoff and were really selling out against them. 'Cause if you can stop the run, you know, and make the passing game beat you, at least at least you they're beating you on your own terms. Yep. And I mean Miami just did it. I mean, Mensah looks like I mean you know, Carson Beck, you know, respect to Carson Beck, brought him to the college football playoff final, but Mensah looks like a much different level of a player than Beck did. So when I rem when you said a couple of weeks we said, I think this team might be better than the last two weeks. I was kinda I was like Homer, Homer pick. They you know, they went to the national championship and they were right there. How could they be better? But I think they are better. I I would like you know, I mean the one thing about again about tune up games is you don't learn what you did. If you play well, you don't see what you did down. True. So I mean I would have liked to seen their defen they didn't give up a touchdown and I'm saying I'd like to see the defense play better. I mean you know, they had like six holding penalties called against the other team's offensive line, but I definitely would like to see a little more productive br production out of both their lines, but Yep. I'm feeling confident about my pick. I still feel pretty confident about my pick. I think we can I think the one pick that I would not be confident in is the Heisman. I think Malachi I think See I I think I I think Mensa and and Malachi Tony are gonna split votes. So I d I don't think either one of them will win. Unless well if he's Malachi Tony's going for a hundred and fifty yards if he scores every sounds again every week. Right. He could. Yep. And they're the number they win the ACC. They were they're the top three team. I mean, there's no reason he couldn't. How do you not give it to him, right? Absolutely. Oklahoma look good. B so Mi Oklahoma's playing Michigan this weekend. I and Michigan looked bad. Talk about a controversial finish for anyone that didn't see it. Michigan throws a Hail Mary on the last play of the game, gets deflected. They got jumped. Western was it Western Michigan Western Michigan, I believe. So basically the officials went to the replay, which to me unless the play's controversial, they shouldn't even be going to the replay. They go to the replay and they determine that a Western Michigan player had stepped out of bounds and then touched the ball with one second left. So they gave Michigan another play at one second left and Michigan threw the Hail Mary touchdown to win the game. Which I mean, you still have to yeah, you still have to execute that and and Western Michigan needs to defend that. But then at the same time it's like when you have that euphoria of a program defining win snatched away from you, it's really difficult to get your adrenaline level back to where it needs to be to play that down again. I really think they i it's it's a wit you know, it's one of those things that replay is there to right wrongs. It's not there to Yes. It's not there to change games on technicalities. You know, like 'cause it's toe or whatever. Like my dad has always said, my dad grew up on school street in North Attaborough. He'd say he'll say, on school street that was a catch at recess. That's all I know. Yeah. You know, so you know it when you see it. Exact and that was not That was not correct. I think in everyone who saw that they're like they got host. Right. Big time. They got hosed. And Michigan Loyalists, I mean, don't get me wrong. I I'm a Michigan fan. They're one of my top five teams that I root for. but I mean it's just th they didn't deserve to win that game. No. I mean the c and And I don't think it's gonna get much better. I think I mean you know, who knows? Maybe maybe it's a galvanizing win and they come out with their hair on fire against Oklahoma, but I could see Oklahoma win in by three touchdowns. I really could. And here's the and they spent all this money on the quarterback and it and he didn't get any and the quarterback that they I mean he had injuries, but the quarterback they moved on from to have Bryce Underwood start started against Miami for Stanford. And don't get me wrong, the game was a blowout, but if you watch that game, he's a competent N Cou A quarterback. Underwood underwood horrible he looked horrible. Terrible balls It's like what were you doing? Right. And but I like winning him, I like the coach. He'll get back. Tough game this weekend. Yeah. I think I I agree. Let's I mean it's a preview of our sports bet, but I'm sure we both are thinking of that one. So that's actually not on there. no, okay. Yeah, another game that we probably will. We'll wait, we'll wait on that We'll wait on that. another game we probably will be talking about, probably the game of the weekend is Ohio State at Texas. number one at the number four team in the country. last year, if memory serves me correct, pretty low scoring game actually. Yes. I hope it's a little more than that this year. I mean, you got a lot of offensive firepower between those two teams. be nice to see what Arch Manning's made of. You know, see if he can see if he can really, you know first test step up and and get a big win against a really good program. So that'll be interesting to see. Great defense too. Yeah, definitely. De and I mean you know, yeah. And I mean they got a lot of firepower on offense. I mean Ohio st that there's a reason I have another receiver. Yeah. I mean You know? Yeah. So that was a whole another thing is that after Malachi Tony scores three touchdowns and does the Heisman pose, the next day, Jeremiah Smith does scores two touchdowns, has a hundred like hundred and seventy yards and two touchdowns. Those two guys are gonna be bad on. Yeah, there's there's definitely some I'd say friendly rivalry between those two. Absolutely. Jeremiah Smith doesn't have a friendly rivalry with Miami fans because he's from South Florida and chose Ohio State over Miami. So there's definitely some hurt feelings on that on that way. Yeah. So and I think Jeremiah Smith is seeing what being a kid from South Florida and going to Miami and being productive does for Like Malachi Tony's like d adored. It's like You're the bet you're the most sought after athlete state. Yeah, it's like what's who was the kid who who was up against Brady at Michigan. the baseball player. Yeah. Hanson Drew Drew something. Yeah. I wanna say Drew Hanson but is it Drew Hanson? I think so. Drew Hanson Yeah yeah something like that. Yeah so I mean he was the Golden Boy Michigan area and I mean One if you stay home and you rep your school well, you're just adored. Absolutely. So Johnny football. Yeah, another great example. Another great example. okay, so So do you wanna pick that game or do you wanna who you think? well so I'm gonna I have that as one of my parley picks. Okay, so we'll wait, we'll wait. So probably I do. Okay. so okay. Moving on. I know most of you guys aren't huge college fans. big news broke last night. The Patriots and Christian Gonzalez finally agreed to his contract extension. Finally. kind of the last real holdover of the Belichick regime. Yeah. but he's a really damn good talented player. so I think it was like and it would ended up being like a four year extension for like s a hundred and thirty some odd million. Yep. Hundred and something million guaranteed. Big money. Thirty three and a half million per year. Mm-hmm. locks up locks him up. Hopefully, I mean, he's only, I think, twenty three or twenty four, so I mean he could even see another contract with the team. That's the thing about giving guys like his age that money. It's like, you know, barring any unforeseen serious injuries, it's not like you're throwing Good money after bad money where it's not like you're giving that to a thirty one year old corn. Pay the man. Right. Pay the man. so and I mean Gonzalez, you know, they were kind of sniping at each other in the media a little bit, you know, kind of sending their feelers out through their own sources, but he handled it pretty well. I mean, he practiced the whole way. Couldn't say anything wrong about it. Yeah, he didn't he didn't say he wasn't gonna play. He you know, it was kind of up in the air, I think. I think that they were not close. You know, you hear different reports, but I think that they were probably far apart yesterday morning and then deadlines kind of create deals, you know. So he had to be on the field this week. Right, right. So I mean I think he kinda gave up on some stuff. The Patriots gave up on some stuff. I don't know if you've heard like I've heard mixed where he gave up So Witherspoon signed that big contract with Seattle a couple weeks ago. Yep. And Witherspoon and Gonzalez have the same representation. Yeah. So I think what happened was, you know, neither in in that situation, neither one of the players wants to sign first. But if you wanna reset the market, so to speak, I feel like you're more likely to get that big jump. Like the the big jump that Witherspoon got compared to the last contract as far as guaranteed money and guaranteed money over the first three years. They got that with the Seahawks. So then Gonzalez was able to say, Okay, I wanna beat that by a little Where if they had gone to the Patriots first, I don't think the Patriots like yeah, if they're feeder to the fire they'll pay top dollar, but they're not gonna way overshoot what like he didn't way overshoot Witherspoon's contract where Witherspoon way overshot. Yeah. Yeah. I mean you had to pay like you said earlier. I mean I feel no sympathy to we need to be we need to be cheap. No, I feel nothing for that. It's insane. Pay the guy. You want to be a team that drafts good players and you keep those players. Right. You have to keep your guys. Right. Right. And this is the guy he's Is he the best corner in the league? Probably not. He's probably the best. But he's top four. Yeah. He's he's an all pro level player. For our and he's for our team, he's one of the best players on our team. And you have to pay the mat you you can't not pay this guy and then sh send out one of those guys that we saw in the previous right and then yeah and and like the players that are out there better than him you're not gonna get. You're not so and the drop off like I'd say he's like around three or four, you know, and say there's like six to seven elite corners in the league. After that it's like there's a big there's a big drop off. yeah. So it's like, you know, you Premium position. They're playing Jackson Smith and Jigma tomorrow. I don't know if they'll have Gonzalez on him all game or if they'll just have him on one side of the field, but like, you know, if you have him against your third corner, it's gonna I'm worried he's gonna get toasted every play. You know, I mean there are certain guys that you need to have a premium cover man or you have no chance of stopping them. Especially in the league today. You have to receiver, corner, their premium positions now. Yep. If you do not have one of those to a top guy in one of those positions, you better have a damn good team. Right. Right. Top to bottom. Top to bottom. And I you've seen how a a great receiver can cover up bad quarterback play. Same thing with corner. You can cov you you take away one side of the field. Yep. And it's like I have to play this and I have ten guys for the rest. And you're gonna be that much better as a team. Yep. and I think In the f in the future you it's you we gotta sign the quarterback and you wanna Yeah. Well, did you see Mayfield's contract you just got this afternoon? I did not know. I think it was a three year extension for like a hundred and sixty five million. So you know, I mean May is gonna get probably I'd say after this season, he's probably gonna get something north of fifty five million. I mean, absolutely. so yeah, I mean you have you know, and as far as you were saying, like shutting down half the field, like I can only assume it's as frustrating for the players that it is for a fan, but there's nothing more frustrating than when you see your quarterback have three and a half, four seconds to throw and there's nobody over. I know. It's like it it's like, are you kidding? Yeah, so it's like, I'm I'm really excited they got it done. You I mean, like I said, and and I had said to Jordan previously, and I think I had said it to you too, where I'm you know, if you're under contract for a certain amount and you're holding out for more money on your existing deal, I'm usually a little more pro team in that instance. Okay. Where that's not what Gonzalez was. Gonzalez is gonna be a free agent after the year and said, I wanna be with your team long term, make it worth my while to stay with your team long term and that's when I'm and he went about it the right way. Like what Judah like I had said, like Matthew Judon, he like two or three years in a row, like held out of camp, held into camp and was like, I want more money this season. It's like you signed a contract, man. True. Like, you know, and it wasn't like like Judon was a good player, but it wasn't like he way outperformed the contract they gave him. You know, it's like And you have in with the rookie deals, 'cause this is Brigonz's rookie deal, like you get slotted in your position of where you're picked. So it's not even like he he they don't you can't negotiate a contract as a rookie. Right. So it's like his t it's not like he used to be. No, exactly. Marcus Russell getting sixty million. Sam Bradford walks in to seventy whatever million a year, forty million a year. so it's like he's up for his extension to the third year. If he's one of your guys, you pay the man. Yep. You know, for his service, for his skill, for his what he's done for the team. To not pay him and to go into the year paying him two and a half million or whatever, it would have been a spit in the face. Right, right. And then you have the reputation of, you know, the Patriots aren't loyal to their own guys, which you don't want to have to deal with that at any point. Yeah, or they're cheap, which I mean Right. Right. So depending who you're talking about. I mean I I I do think they're cheap. I think that Absolut. You know, I mean they I I think so much of the Belichick cheapness over the years, I think it's become more and more clear that it was really the craft of the hundred percent. You know, like I remember people being like, you know, Belichick makes like this much money and his coaching staff's way underpaid Like, do you think Belichick's gonna say to his coaching staff you don't deserve to make? Yeah, or you think you think Belichick's pocket in that extra money? It's it's just totally insane. And it's like, you know, Belichick's not gonna try to you know, there's only s you can't roll your salary cap over from one year to the next year. So if like they're under on the last week of the regular season or something you know they don't get that million of exactly he's not you know so i it just I think it's become clear that the the crafts had more per se fine I won't say I don't think they had hands in roster construction, but they were definitely like definitely tighter clamp on it. Yes. Yeah. So but yeah, they got it done. Credit to they got it done. You know, they didn't let it become a distraction in the season. They didn't risk Gonzalez you know, not playing. so yeah, I mean Credit to them, they got the deal done. Did it take too long? Yes. Yeah, it didn't. And it w and it it had become a distraction during camp. Like your teammates are getting asked about it, it's a distraction. Yeah. and it wasn't really through any of fault of Gonzalez's. Like Gonzalez wasn't vocal. He wasn't critical of the team. He was there every day. But it was a really big elephant of the room in the room where it's like you know, this isn't twenty five thirty years ago where you know you're waiting for your local newspaper to come out the next day with the team's mouthpiece putting a spin on what the deal is. You know, there's just so much information now. You got trainers talking and yeah, and there's so much history of what we see happens with these guys if if if they don't get paid. And it's like, you know, do do we all agree that athletes make too much money? Yeah, we do. But then at the same time it's like They don't think there's They're they're employed. I mean they're employees, you know? And you know, as far as one sport that deser you know, if anything, you know, ask Earl Campbell Get your money. Get your money and 'cause you're gonna be in a wheelchair someday. And you know, not from you know, I'm not saying from like Cr anything. Yeah, I mean exactly. You know, you got it it's just it's unbelievable. Anything can so, Okay, so game tomorrow. Yes. Kind of snuck up on us a little bit. I know actually. I have I had to squeeze in a fantasy draft last night, last minute, because eight forty kick. Come on, guys. Come on, NFL. Get it together. That's rough. That's rough. Just like we'll talk about later in the season, I'm sure, why is the college football final on a Monday? I know. Monday at nine o'clock. but so yeah, I mean I think they got a good chance. Well so so part of like I don't think the Seahawks are as good of a team as they were in the Super Bowl last year. I think they've you know, they lost their offensive coordinator. Yeah, they lost the Super Bowl MVP, which I mean I don't think Walker was some, you know, all star level player, but a very good server. yeah. So I mean I don't know, I mean and you see these teams, I think you're gonna know right away. You know Previously, like I heard a stat today, it was like the last twenty years the the defending team at home opening game has been very good, but the last five years it's been like kind of a struggle because you know, you see these teams and they kinda have that Superbowl hangover a little bit and they're kinda wrapped up in the emotions. Sometimes it'll work the other way. yeah. Where they're all jacked up ready to go and the, you know, visiting team gets blown out, but Well, you it's it's it's a big production is they're celebrating their Super Bowl. I think if the Patriots I I think if they the Seahawks weren't playing the team they beat in the Super 'cause that's another thing is you don't always it's not often you see a Super Bowl rematch. Yeah, yeah, yeah. you you'll see a AFC championship game or a big divisional rival rematch, but to see the Super Bowl rematch and the a game that the Patriots were pretty thoroughly outplayed in. I mean they made it they made it Closely. but I'm looking for Drake May to have a big game. Yeah, I I will say, like, I was talking with a buddy of mine. And I know they use the joint practices as kind of like their preseason now, but I really would feel a lot better if I had seen the whole offense playing in the preseason. Yeah, yeah. You know, I mean there's just something to real game reps that until you get that chemistry on real game reps you're not gonna quite duplicate it. Yep. So I could see I could see a sloppy game from both teams, honestly, to start, you know, lower scoring game. But then it could be sloppy defensively and you have, you know, a jailbreak touchdown for seventy yards 'cause it's a blown coverage. So I think the line is three I'm not sure. I'm sure it's I'm sure the Seahawks are favorite. yeah, they are. Yeah, I think it's I think it's the Seahawks by three and a it's either three or three and a half. And I don't know. I really don't know. I'd stay away. yeah, I mean as far as betting the game, I I that's tough. but who do you who do you like to win? I mean I'm gonna go Pats. but I think it's gonna be it's gonna be tight. it's in Seattle obviously. But I d like I said, I think they're celebrating their Super Bowl, they're doing the it's a haul of big celebration. Yep. I think that's gonna take it away where we're locked in, we're ready to go. We wanna get that game back. I'm putting my faith in the fact that I think Does Sam Darnold turn back into a pumpkin? No, yeah, so I mean you know, Sam Darnold you gotta give you gotta give credit. You know, I mean he's you know he he did what he needed to do, he performed when he needed to perform. but I every time you see him, yeah, I just Yeah, yeah. You see those those game you remember those. But you I mean he has a good pedigree. You know, I mean you know, it was it was about time he put something together and he's had a couple seasons now in a row. hasn't really been flukes. So I agree I but I don't know. I I guess I just have this I don't know if you'd call it boyish enthusiasm, but you know, I just I feel like Drake May and AJ Brown are gonna like go for like a hundred and fifty and at least a touchdown. I can't wait to see. I really hope I really hope they just come out of the gates firing and not like really slow and sluggish and they both have something to prove. I wish Trevion Henderson was a go like we don't know if he's gonna play or not, but I think he is. You know, it's like he did travel, but I don't know. I I would like I hate to s I hate to have a guy who can hit a home run every play not playing, but so you Yeah, I don't know. I I You know, we had made our picks a couple of weeks ago about who we thought was gonna go and you know, I I feel good about the Pats, but Pat's schedule's a lot harder this year. I don't know, it's it's I I'm more up in the air than I feel like I was a couple of weeks ago about what the team's gonna be. I think Okay. I think I just think the schedule is tough. I think they're a better team than they were like. Better team, worse schedule. yeah. Yeah. Worse record. Yeah, yeah. I do I do have I think their offensive line is gonna be better. And I think I think, you know, I mean how i i if you're Josh McDaniels and I've never been the biggest Josh McDaniels as a in game play calling coordinator, but I am a big offense I b I am a big believer in Josh McDaniels as a co coach and quarterback coach during the week. And I mean how do you not say to Drake, like Drake, you can't be holding the ball for three and a half seconds. You know, you gotta get I think he was like twenty seventh in the league in time holding the ball last year between snap to throw. It also has a little bit with the receivers. Right, right, right. Which we've upgraded. And the line. I mean when you're running for your life, you know, you're kinda you're scrambling, you're talking. so yeah, I mean I think I'm gonna take the pats. Okay. I think I'm gonna take the bats. I think I'm gonna take the pats. I will say twenty eight, twenty four. Twenty eight, okay. If I'm gonna pick I'll do twenty four twenty one. Okay. All right. That's tough, you know. It it's a tough game to pick. It is. I could go either way. I c I yeah, I could see it getting it's not a repeat of the Super Bowl, please. I yeah. So that's the thing. I'm worried I don't see the Pats winning in a blowout. I see them winning in a close game or I see Seattle winning by double digits. That's what I see. I see one or the other. so I hope not. I hope it's close. Okay. so I'm gonna try to do this hopefully every week during football season. Gonna try to do a we'll give our to we'll both give our two top picks that we're most confident in. Yep. And and then we're gonna make a fourteen par layout of it. you know. We are not gambling experts. But we'll see how we do it. These are our yeah, these are our you know, and and I actually I'm I'm gonna throw some money down. I got money down, so hey, well so I'm gonna package them together and I'm gonna put a parlay. Yeah. You know, and they're not limited to just point spreads, or game outcomes. You know, you can do over and unders and what have you. I just chose point spreads this week. Okay, I got over and just to throw it in there. Okay, so what are you most confident in? My most confident, I think we talked about it earlier, Oklahoma, Michigan. Oklahoma's a five five and a half point favorite. Is it at the big house? It's gotta be. At Michigan, but I'm slamming that. Okay. I think Oklahoma's gonna roll those. Okay, so Oklahoma, Michigan. And my second one, Homer pick. it is the LSU Tigers. We play Louisiana Tech. I'm hitting the over. It's fifty five and a half. We're going for sixty. Okay. lanes we got spread in that game's like forty points or something. The spread is like thirty actually I think that one's like The spread is thirty five and a half. Yeah. Which I might I would hit that too. But I'm going over. Fifty five and a half. that's that's a big number. It's a big number, but I mean we scored fifty points against Clemson. Yeah, true enough. And that's just our points. Like I think, you know, Louisiana Tech will score a little b they'll score one or two. At the garbage time. And I think LSU we're gonna s we're rolling now. We got Swagger. We got Ole Miss next week. They're not gonna let the gas pedal off. We're we're going. We're getting we're going we're putting sixty up. All right. I would say my number one pick will probably be Ohio State plus one and a half at Texas. Okay. So you're going to Ohio State. Just I I don't know. I just I trust Ohio State more. Okay. I hate to say it 'cause I hate them so much. Okay. But See, I would go I I like Texas in this game. Yeah, I don't know. I d I think Texas won last year too. They did. So that's that's another thing. I mean SEC bias, of course. Yeah. so I'm really up in the air for my next pick. Okay. I wanna go Alabama minus ten and a I was thinking that. Yep. But I don't trust Alabama's coach yet. I don't either. so I think I'm actually gonna do the Detroit Lions at home minus seven against the Saints. Okay. I feel like that's a pretty good number. Saints probably the worst team. If it was it if it was in New Orleans, I would not feel that confident about that, but Saints I mean, you know, y I could see the I could see Detroit leading by a touchdown all game and you know, scoring late to make it a double digit win. So I will sit so we got Oklahoma what minus five and a half. Yep. Slam it. We got LSU over fifty-five. Over fifty-five and a half. That's fifty-five and a half. Okay. That's both teams. Yeah, combined score. we have Ohio State plus one and a half and we have Detroit minus seven. We'll probably go and four. But those are the picks we're most confident in. Bonus pick, I I do like that Alabama only minus ten and a half at Kentucky. I mean, you know, Alabama does have a lot of talent and you're on the road against not a great program. Yep. but I just Alabama's coach, I just I feel like he's got a choke a choke in him. hasn't proved so Cowboys I was another one. Ca Cowboys are minus three at the Giants. I think Cowboy I think they're gonna kill the Giants. Yeah. Hey, I mean I got Dak Prescott in fantasy, so on one of my leagues. Yeah, I mean they they always play them tough though. You know, they it's a divisional game, it's in New York, but I just think New York's terrible. They're not very good. Not very good. Jackson Dark. Yeah. He might get injured in the first quarter. so okay. So Will and I were having a debate off off air, so to speak. where Will does not really watch TV shows. I'm out on TV. which I mean, I haven't watched network TV like sitcoms or anything like that in years. I think the last thing I watched was like an FX show probably, maybe Mayans or something like that. Yeah. but so th like, you know, people who have known me for a long time know I love my movies. you know, at one time I would say I was The movie guy. I mean I I I mean I still kill at movie trivia. You know, if I see something once I pre pandemic I pretty much have it like on lock. But you know, I really enjoy A high production series. And it doesn't necessarily need to be a show. Like it doesn't need to be like Sopranos with a wire or Peaky Blinders or something like that. But like, you know, you give me like I don't know if you have you ever seen Chernobyl? Chernobyl. So Okay, so like, if I can get a story that I am like really into, really high production value, and great acting, and I can get eight episodes of that, it's like sign me up. Like I love movies, but like series though, it's kind of a gray area. What do you mean? Whether they're gonna be good or bad. No, no, no, no. It's like it's like it's an eight hour movie. It is. Which so to me they flush out way more. Like I mean, Megan and I were watching not not a cinematic movie by you know, or I should say live action movie, but anyone that ever watched Avatar the Last Airbender, on Nickelodeon, they came out with a movie this summer. And Megan and I watched it the other day and it was enjoyable. We enjoyed it, but I mean, I'm like we both said at the same time. I started talking and she finished my sh my sentence. It's like this storyline is so rushed. Like I mean Well yeah, the six seasons into one movie. No, no. It was it was it was like a a side storyline after the Avatar series was over. yeah. So it was like a it was like when Aang's an adult what have you. But I mean, you know, Pete not really familiar. Yeah. So Pete and I were talking the other day and it's like, you know, these movies are like three hours now, which it's like, yeah, that's a long time. But if you're making a like, I feel like when we were kids, like late nineties, like movies were ninety minutes. And it's like I don't know the Odyssey's two out three hours. Yeah, but like real movies with like Like to me, 90 minutes is unless you're talking a comedy or a straight up like expendables type action movie. You can't flesh out a plot well enough in under two hours. I disagree. I disagree. Like what? Like what? Like yeah, like I mean, give me an example of a movie that's like short and and The End of Oak Street. Just came out. Okay, actually I wanna see that movie. But does that move that's not a heavy plot movie, is it? It's a plot what's what kind of plot do you need? I mean like they get dropped into the the dinosaur times, you gotta survive. I actually I I actually need I gotta have the name. Neighbor like that's this is why T Vs have crowded your brain because if it's a TV sh if they make the show, I'm not gonna spoil it, but it's basically you've seen the if you've seen the trailer, it's a neighborhood, it gets dropped into like prehistoric times. It looked a lot better than I thought it sounded at the beginning. Mayhem. But in the movie it's Anne Hathaway and Elon McGregor and their kids and they're surviving. If that's a T V show, I gotta think about the neighbor. I gotta think about it's the mayor's gonna be there. There's gonna be a guy in an ice cream truck. I would like see a dumb kid. I would I don't care. I would like a lot more lead up into what happened, how it happened. But that like and an another thing is like but like in this type of movie, I agree, like that's that's Ninety minutes all you need. but if you can't tell if you can't tell a plot in ninety minutes, what are you doing? See I like but what are you doing? But you're like I've seen like murder mysteries, thrillers where I don't think that can be done in ninety minutes effectively. They can. Like you really need to like accelerate the timeline of of how it's done. Like I feel like Any movie over two hours it needs to be justified, in my opinion. You can't have a two hour and a ha two hour, fifteen minute 'cause there's there's they're they're out there. It's two hours and fifteen minutes and it's like you can see where they should have cut thirty minutes. Yeah, no, I I will agree with that. I feel like there are some movies now where they're like they feel that they need to they need to justify I feel like they think extending the movie makes the movie seem better. A hundred per and that's what T V does. But they make a plot where it should like there's so many shows. So th well those but so this is where like limited series to me are different than T V shows. Because like I agree. T V shows you're gonna have you're gonna have filler episodes. And like even like, you know, high production T V episodes, like you're just gonna have episode Breaking Bad, the most famous One of all time. The fly. The fly. Yeah. I mean, And I mean I I wouldn't even consider that like the highest production value show as far as like budget wise, you know, I mean like the actors were yeah very well paid. But so like, you know, you got like like even like Game of Thrones or like the House of the Dragon, like you'll have episodes now where it's just like nothing really happens. And it's like I agree, like stuff like that Brutal can be cut. But like you take an episode yeah, a show like Chernobyl or a show like, I'm trying to have P watch one true detective season one. It's great. So I mean they're just if if you can if it's properly executed, that's a thing. If it's properly executed, I much prefer a good series to a g a really good movie. But I will say that mid series and mid movies, I would probably prefer a movie because you're in your that you're in your John Bernthal and Who's the girl from This is the one that just came out, the relationship one? Yeah, it's John Bernthal and it's the girl from Thor and Creed. Tessa Thompson. Yeah. So I love Tessa Thompson. Yeah. So I mean, the show was good, the plot was good, but it was about two episodes too long. yes, and that's a lot of the TV shows nowadays. So I mean I do understand that. I do understand that. But then at the same time, like you'll get some like Peaky Blinders, man. To me, Peaky Blinders the re and and I will either try to pressure you into watching it or I had Jordan watch it. So I feel like each season is six six episodes and I feel like I feel like the pacing and And the amount of episodes there is per season is perfect. Because each season I don't feel like there's any meat left on the bone. I feel like it's executed perfectly. I feel like every time I'm watching it, I'm like, How are they gonna land this plane with one episode left? And they do. Yep. And to me that's perfect. Like, I don't think we need these thirteen episode seasons of shows. Unless there's like You have to justify your Did you just curse on my podcast? Well said it's freaking okay. Just making sure. so borderline. do believe I said damn earlier, you know. But I'm heated right now, I'm heated. Yeah, so I mean if you have if you have like strong source material like Game of Thrones, like, you know, I I did I complain about them, but I that's just 'cause there's so many characters. But they're following source material, it's a little different. But like new stuff, I just feel like sometimes it is a little much. But I still if I can get a show and so there's a here's another thing. Like, A show like I don't know if y I know you said you're out on TV. The it's a show called Bosch. which is on Amazon Prime. Don't know it. And basically it's just a detective show. But it's like higher budget and it's like each there's like an overarching story to the season and then each episode has its own thing. Okay. So it's like I enjoy the little you know basically the CSI model each each so each yeah so each each each episode has its own crime that's solved. There's a big but it's higher protection but it's higher production value and it's higher like you know how many episodes you know I couldn't say I couldn't say I'm over ten. It's probably right about ten. See that's why it's like 'cause when you're talking about like the best like Chernobyl. worth every episode. Mm-hmm. It justifies its length. It's tremendous. Great acting. But there's so many shows. Like I think the one of the last shows I watched was a it was a Marvel show. Did you watch Secret Wars? That's the one with Nick Fury. I did watch The Scrolls. Not very good. It's one of the worst sh seasons of T V I've ever watched. And it's that's kind of a cash grab though. It's eight episodes and it's just brutal. Like there's nothing redeeming about the show. And there's so like the there's so many shows where there's a lot of plot holes. Terrible to it's but this is with all shows. Yeah. It's terr it's the acting's not good, the production is bad. It does it's they make shows that you don't have to really watch. It's peop a lot of people talking. And I'm just I'm out. I don't wanna watch that. And even with shows that you gotta watch this, it's seven seasons long. I can watch thirty movies. And I what from what I I've in my opinion in my content. Like you have to nowadays everything's competing with everything. Mm. It's not like I watch either movies or T V. I either watch movie or I watch a forty five minute YouTube video about Julius Caesar t killing people. Or I wa or I listen to music or a podcast or I'll you know, there's a thous you have to choose your time wisely. So for me to dive into a show that's eight episodes, eight hours long, and by the fourth episode I'm like, I'm this is bad. It's brutal where I can wa I'd rather watch like this week, I've watched four bad movies. So Moonfall, Fall Two, I watched the new Da Ridley Scott movie Dog the Dog Stars. Bad mo like not good. And that's eight hours of my time that I'm not gonna get back, but it's over. I'm in, I'm out. No, I know but so you but you wouldn't rather like like take the Sopranos for example. But again, this is No no no no no but so you won't give a show four episodes to find out if it's something you're really hooked into. You'd rather watch four bad movies. Yes. Because when you y you gotta watch the Sopranos is the best show ever. Yeah, it's the best show ever. But the best show ever does not even hold a candle to the best movie ever. The Sopranos cannot hold the Godfather's jock strap. Not even close. I don't yeah, I I don't disagree. It's not even close. I I will say like they're very they're very different and they're very I feel like because they're discussing the same subject matter. But the top it's the top of each field. Yes. Yeah. In the mo top movie. The best the best sh what was the best show that came out last year? Yeah. But the best show of last year doesn't even come close to one battle after another. The best show the best three shows this year will not hold a candle to the Odyssey. Not even close. So it's like why am I watching a stupid show about like a British spy? I I I don't care. I I agree with and for me, I'm a guy, I wanna see this I wanna see a star. So you say British spies, were you talking about slow horses? Whatever. So slow horses is a great show. I know there's shows about spies. There's a show 'cause it 'cause my parents they love TV. They love trash T V. They'll sit and they'll watch they'll watch a show that's seven seasons. This is the best show I've ever seen. Yeah. And it's t it's terrible. I'll s I'll watch ten minutes and I'm like, this is bad. Yeah, see, I I think I agree overall, I would say that the that the upper echelon of movies are definitely that better than the upper echelon of T V. And there are exceptions. Of course. Chernobyl, unbelievable. One of the one of the great shows that of limited series, the Mayor of Easttown. Good. Kate Winslow. Fantastic series. For every mayor of East Town you have, you do have what's the one with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant? I can't remember what it was called, but it came out like right around the same time. Horrible. Hor I I I I talked to Megan and I s after and I said, that is like ten episodes I will never get. And that's actually I will say usually I w if it's a show I don't like, I won't give it that long. It was But it's like Nicole Kidd was like it's gotta be like somewhat decent. It was the most the entire time what you thought was gonna happen is or what you thought happened, who you thought killed the person killed them. It's like, why did I just waste my time on this? but like so like to me, like I so I said to Pete, like 'cause I want Pete to watch it and discuss it. The first season of True Detective. To me the first season of True Detective is as good as any season of television I've ever seen. Absolutely. Like it absolutely it's as far as worth that justifies its length. Right. And that's when I talk about the high, high production value, it's not just It's not just sets, it's not just writing, it's like if you can give me an A list actor, that's and that's another thing. That's why movies are great. 'Cause you kinda get you Leonardo DiCaprio don't do TV shows. Right. Yeah, but see Matt Damon don't do TV shows. But see but McConaughey does. He's a superstar. He does, but he does true detectives. Yeah, so but that's the thing. If I can get if I can get an upper echelon star to really sink their teeth into a role, would I rather be happy seeing two hours of that or eight hours of that? And that is that is what I mean. That is the one thing that a TV show has above everything. Where you get fifties hours with Tony Soprano. Right. You get ten hours with Russ Cole and But it is harder it is harder to find that real perfect setup. And that's why like I know you said you had stopped watching Peaky Blinders, but like I'm a huge Killian Murphy fan. And like his character in that Tommy Shelby is for me top five character in the history of television. you know, and like it was just he was so brilliant in that role and it was like even if the rest of the that episode is like okay, he's so good, he can carry it. Where it's like a like I had talked about to you about Ray Donovan where John Voigt's character in it. It's just like Leah Schreiber's in it and he's great. Great show. but John Voigt's character is amazing. But that is a show where we talked about there's just like kind of filler episodes, there's lull points. I'm sure John Voigt's not in every episode. He's not in every episode. Or you know, and he's not the lead in the show. Yeah, he comes, he drops in, he drops out. Right. So I mean you'll have that, but I would say if I can if I and that's another thing. I find myself not and I don't wanna make too general of a statement here, but like the movies that come out now and I don't know if it's because we're kind of running out of original ideas. Come on now. But there's some that I like I would say ten years ago I was way like almost every movie that came out with a big actor I'm like I'm really see this movie and now I'm like I can kind of be like, Yeah, I think that one's gonna be a dud. I think I can miss that one. So and I I mean I do that with T V shows too. I don't watch every T V show that comes out with people that I like or on HBO or anything like that. There's so much out there. But you know, I mean I think my Netflix and Amazon lists are both like forty deep on things to watch. but like, you know, and then there's shows that are like I and this is another thing that you had said about people talking and not having to listen you know, you can listen and stuff like that is like sometimes that's kinda what I want. You know, like a show like well especially if I've seen it before. Where like I you know that's a little different story. But like like I wa I watching a show for the first time and you're on your phone, you ain't listening you watch that show. I wa but see that's that is like I can I I I'm not necessarily on my phone, but I'm not like Like I said with my tri like I'm I I'll be so locked into something where like I watch sh like I watch a show right now called Outer Banks. I mean Outer Banks That's like a T some of it is so comically bad acting. Yeah but I'm invested in it now. And it's like so I I do see what you're saying. I do but at the same time it's like I need to know the conclusion of the story. And see, you are invested so they have you. And it's like they can do whatever they they can like. But the but I'd say the MCU's the same way. It w it is, and that's why and I had to stop watching the shows because it was just kicking. You mean the cheese. But even the movies. Like I still haven't seen Guardians 3. I still haven't seen Ant Man 3. Fantasy's good. I've heard Guardians 3 is good. I've heard Ant Man's 3 is not good. New Captain America. Not good. Yeah, that I liked. It was a good thing. Thor four? Not good. No. Thor three. Thunderbolts? Very good. So I still haven't seen that. Very good. So there was that and Fantastic Four. And and I think I so I have to see Fantastic Four I thought was trash. Did not like that. Okay. I gotta have it. Which I would say so I have to watch Spider Man. I w Spider Man very good. Great. I have to watch Thunderbolts and I have to watch Loki season two. Because I think I've been thinking about do I watch that because it's like it's But I've heard that there's major to to understand everything that's going on and Doomsday. So they get yeah. Exactly. They get Well like one of the shows that had their hook like the Wal remember did you watch Walking Dead? I did not. So I was a walking dead guy since day one. And that's a show it's still going somehow. But it's like for the first couple of seasons it's like, wow, this is the best thing I've ever seen. But then they just gets redundant. They deli that's like for years they would kick you in the f in the head and then they would kick you in the knee. And then they would kick you in the nuts. And then they my God and they would hold you and be like We're back. And then they would kick you in the teeth again. Yeah. And it's like I had to put it down. I had to. And so Walking Dead's like the type of show that like I won't well, first off that type of material. I'm just not interested in that. But like from what I've seen of that show, the production value was like high, but it wasn't like HBO. No, no, no, no, no. So it's like But it was a show that like ruin it first came out, it's like I've never s you've never seen something like this. Like a zombie show or blah blah blah. But it's just it just got over time, it was just bad. And I you have to put it down. And it's just I will say also My opinions on watching series change significantly if I can watch the next episode right away or not. If I have to wait, yeah, I'm much I'm a binge guy too. Yeah. Like I the new season of House of the Dragons out. I think I watched the first episode and I was like, I'm just waiting for it to come out. And it came it's all done and I still haven't. But like to me, like if I can get through it and watch the next episode right away, I'm much more likely to Yeah, and I think that's it's just another point for the movie where it's just Yeah, it might be a two hour movie, but you're in like I watched Moonfall yesterday. Bad. Have you seen movie? It's like a movie where the moon's gonna crash into the earth. No. Patrick Wilson, Hailey W Hailey, no, what's her name? Hallie Berry. Josh No, not Josh Gadd. He was in he was in jobs. I watched that one too. Bad. But it's like it's two hours, you get to see a moon, tr like gravity, and you're done. It's you know, I I don't have to think about it ever again. So well, I'll always be a movie guy. It just it is what it is. You know? Yeah, yeah. no, I mean it I would like to watch more movies. getting my wife to watch a movie is not always the easiest thing, that's for sure. Some of these movies it's like do you wanna hey you y Especially with my girl, same thing. Do you want to see this movie? No. Yeah. Do you want to see it? No. And I'll be like, no, but you do. And so I'll hold off watching it. And I'm like, okay, no, I I just have to do it. And it's gotta you can't do it. The worst thing is when you recommend a movie and they're just not into it. And you're like, they can't recommend another movie for two months. So just bring this one up. Yep. Okay. You know, there was another movie that I wanted to so you w did you wanna talk about a movie or were you you just kinda did the I mean I'll do two since the first one it was I'm gonna it's movies that are so I've seen like ninety movies, new movies this year. Mm-hmm. in the I still gotta get b what's that app called again that Letterboxd. Followbox, yeah. Wcomer, K U W K U E R, Log Your Movies. I do it every day. so the first one so it's gonna be I'm gonna pick a movie that I've seen this week or within the last couple weeks. First one, end of Oak Street, Anne Hathaway, Elon MacGregor. It's a family, they get dropped in with their neighborhood into Jurassic times and they have to survive. Very good movie. Good family story. Great action. It's dinosaurs. Like it's the Jurassic Park that we've all wanted. Mm-hmm. so it's very good. The other one, kind of a and I'm sure all the now movies is it'll be on HBO in like a month. So like when you see it, go watch it. The other one, speaking of McConaughey. The rivals of Mziah King. Okay. So I've been pushing my parents to watch this movie because my parents keep bees. It's very good. So I love I love Matthew McConaughey and I love Kurt Russell. Yes. So So it's I'm interested to see that. So it was worth watching. It's very good. It's ve it's like it's almost two movies in one where it's like there's one half and then there's a second half. Okay. but both are very good where it's it's Matthew McConaughey, he's a beekeeper, some stuff goes down, Kurt Russell's in it. There's this young lady, she's a newer actress. I don't I forget her name, but she's very good. She's like the second lead with McConaughey. But it's very good. It's a good story. It's it's kind of a crime thriller sh movie. Good great heart in it. It's McConaughey. I he's at the top of the I mean, he's just It's McConaughey doing all the McConaughey stuff. You know, he's singing, he's dancing, he's doing he's doing serious. It's just fun. It's he's he's he's it's good. Go on it's gonna I'm sure it'll be on HBO on a month. Range like crazy. so actually before I get on to this recipe, there was actually One last movie I wanted to bring in the the honorable mentions of movies of the twenty first century. I'll throw one in too. that I can't believe we didn't bring up. And I actually meant to bring up and I started talking about Master and Commander and I I I'm not sure this would be on my list. It was right it would be right there though, and I can't believe I forgot it. Top Gun Maverick. Love that movie. You know crazy thing about me? What? I've never seen Top Gun or Top Gun. Really? Never. Okay, so I it's always a thing that's like I need to watch it, but it's just like I just never pull the trigger. So So okay, so first off, I I have this love hate relationship with Tom Cruise where I actually like don't like Tom Cruise and like ever 'cause like in the early two thousands he was like a very like kind of like ick kind of like a jerk. People didn't really love him. That was his tough back then. It was tough times for him. Literally almost every movie I've ever seen by him is a great movie. He's a fantastic in like doesn't have an Oscar, yeah. Yeah, like he and even if he's not like the best in it, the movie always comes out great. Like he's very he puts a lot of work into his movies. Yes. And like my like I didn't Bring it up like minority rapport, early two thousands, really good movie. Last Samurai, really good movie. War of the Worlds. Didn't really love that one. Which by the way, did you know they made a min a mini series about that with Ice Cube, War of the Worlds? Yeah last year. I didn't even hear it. No, it's a movie. It's a movie, okay. It's one of the worst movies. Didn't even I'd heard it's one of the worst of all time. So so don't watch that and I I'm gonna upset one of my old one of my friends, Frank, about this 'cause he thinks Top Gun's like one of the best movies ever made. with the first one. The first one. Okay. Top Top Gun, very enjoyable. I'm a Val Kilmer fan. I really liked Val Val Kilmer in that movie. You know, I mean he's a side character, but good s good side characters are great for a movie. I think Top Gun Maverick is far superior amazing things about it. really good, really good cast. I'm embarrassed that I haven't seen it. I can't lie. Yeah, I think you should this weekend just watch them both. Watch both. Okay. Because it like report back. As much as like I don't I think Top Gun Maverick's a much better movie. Top Gun suffers from the fact that I had been told such amazing things about it. But it's still objectively a very good movie. Okay. So yeah, really good. So yeah, that that would've been the would have been another mission. Okay. Yeah. One of I mean, it's a Korean train to Busan. It's one of it's probably the best zombie movie I've ever seen. Fantastic. You just gave me an idea for a not zombie related but n a topic for us for the next I have plenty of movie ideas, so get ready. Get ready folks. but Train to Busan it's it's a Korean movie. It's probably it's fast zombies, which is always scary. Yeah, but it's zombie. I mean, well they're I don't even Are those zombies? They they ha it's like rabies kinda yeah. but it's not like they're like climbing like like walls in there. Like That was kinda silly. Good movie, but but yeah, train to Busan, they're remaking it in English. So that'll be coming out soon. But it's very good. It's it's a ki it's a guy and his daughter and they're on a train while the zombie apocalypse happens. Okay. So it's very good. Go watch it. Very emotional. that's Well with his foreign language movies. Yeah, I got two there's two Korean movies are great. Korean and Japanese probably the best foreign movies. It's a there's a breadth of movies that are just out there. Th like a there's so many action movies, like John Wu movies. There there have been a lot and a lot of great American movies are just remakes of Yes, a hundred percent. So there's so much like this so much to dive into if you wanna like if you have the stomach for not I mean you can do the dub but it's not as good 'cause you don't get the You don't get the native actor doing their stick. Give me the dub. You know? Give me the dub. I like a dubs Godzilla movie 'cause it's just silly, it's funny, it adds to the comedy. but like train to booson, watch it and watch it with subtitles. All right. okay. I told I told you guys I had a another recipe for you. it is another dip, actually. It's football season. We love it. This one's a lot a little bit more work. A little bit more work than the previous two I had given you. this was given to me by one of my oldest, dearest friends, Josh Phillips. he taught me how to make this years ago. so you're gonna take a large block of Velveeta cheese. What kind of dip is it thirst? So it's it's a taco dip. so you're gonna take a two I believe it's a two-pound block of Velveeta cheese, cut it up into cubes and place it in a crock pot on high heat. in a frying pan you're gonna take two pounds of ground ground beef, at least eighty percent. Like don't get lean meat, get fatty meat. We want the fat. Eighty to seventy five percent lean is perfect. you're gonna fry that up in a frying pan and you're gonna pour that meat along with all the fat in the crock pot. Two pounds of meat, people, two pounds. Yes. you're gonna take a so once you kinda get that mixed up and congealed a little bit you know, the you need to have the cheese melted a little bit anyway. You're gonna put in a pint of sour cream. depending on how much salsa you like, I'm not the biggest salsa guy in the world, so I put a cup of salsa in. Yep. You can put a jar of salsa in, and then you put so you can do this two ways. you can season the meat in taco seasoning or you can put the taco seasoning in the crock pot. I like to put it in with the meat. So it's usually an it's usually two packs. McCor I think it's McCormick cheesy taco. Season the ta season the beef and it is so good. And you leave that on high for, you know, couple hours and you serve it with scoop. You're gonna need scoop. Scoops. Scoops. Scoops is the best it's it's way too heavy of a dip to eat with anything that the mini rounds you can probably get away with. you need like three of them stacked. The scoops are what you need 'cause it's a really heavy dip, but it is so good. I you know, so to sub in for a salsa you can use Rotel too. some people will use like a Jimmy Dean sausage. I find it's not quite as good. I think it's a little s little on the salty side and doesn't ha quite have that bite Instead of taco. Instead of taco ground beef. I like it with the ground beef and it's it's a taco dip. So So that's it. really good, worth it. I mean, guys, like so those other dips I had, great for football with a couple other things. You do not need anything except maybe like a veggie platter. And you will never in the rest of your time watching this podcast hear me recommend a veggie platter. Three bags dips you do not need anything else. Trust me, I've had it, it's great. But it is good and it hits. So Well we're about an hour and five minutes. Pretty good time. Not bad. Not bad. We're getting better. We're getting better Yeah. So anything else to add? Not much, man. Go Pats, go Tigers. Yep. We're coming down in the baseball season. And yeah, Sox I think within two games of the Yankees. Judge is off the injured list, so we'll be interested in what happens. Four AL East teams when I the playoffs. Yeah. And and we got Celtics right around the corner. So I know, I know. We fought w that that that side note by the way. The year that they had COVID and had the Cel the NBA in the bubble and had them playing in the summer, I think the NBA season should start at Christmas. Go through the entire summer. Because that'll compete with football. Exactly. Why are you competing for th two and a half months with football when you compete compete with baseball instead? And no one cares like about November basketball. From June till the end of aug to the middle of August, the sports calendar is dead. Like yeah, you have the beginning of training camp but like there's not a lot of major news coming out. I mean if you're having the NBA finals the first week of August, you know first week I mean that's okay. In that area though. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? I don't know man. I'm a WNBA man. It's it's it's it's pretty good. Agree to disagree on that one. W NBA's got some ballers right now. Anyway, that'll do it from us. True the Clock podcast. Thank you guys for watching, joining us. Please again. No, we will not. We will not be discussing that on this podcast. but yeah, please like, subscribe, share everywhere, spread the word. We really appreciate it. yeah, God bless and have a great night. Thanks, guys. Bye.
