In this highly transparent and impactful episode, DJ2FOUR7 welcomes back Matt Fletcher for a record-breaking third appearance. The conversation kicks off with exciting updates on Matt’s ambitious plans to expand his DJ business into the US market and his innovative use of AI to completely streamline his website’s booking process.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

US Expansion is Achievable with a Plan: Matt outlines his meticulous process for expanding into the US market, detailing his L1A business visa application, setting up a legitimate US company, and securing an office space in Ohio to prove his business model.

AI is Revolutionizing Client Acquisition: Moving away from traditional, multi-page websites, Matt highlights the power of using AI platforms to build hyper-focused landing pages. By eliminating clutter, you direct clients straight to the inquiry form and secure more bookings.

Social Media is Just a Shop Window: It is easy to look at other DJs online and assume they have it all figured out, but social media rarely reflects behind-the-scenes struggles. Use others as inspiration to raise your own standards, not as a tool for negative comparison.

Lean on Your DJ Network in Dark Times: Isolation feeds anxiety and depression. Building a "mastermind" group of trusted industry peers is critical for your mental health. When you face professional setbacks, talking to like-minded people who understand the unique stresses of the industry can help pull you out of the darkness.

Channel Setbacks into Fuel for Your Own Business: After losing his role with the silent disco company, Matt chose to be a "doer." Instead of dwelling on the loss, he redirected his energy into upgrading his own brand—investing in social media courses, learning music production in Ableton, and optimizing his business infrastructure.

BEST MOMENTS

"If you're not using AI in your business now, stop what you're doing and start using it. Because it's only going to help you and all that heavy lifting stuff you're doing."

"You're not trying. You're doing. There's a difference. There's a massive difference in the two... you're constantly moving, constantly driving, constantly trying to improve."

"I've been in a really dark place the last few weeks. Probably the hardest stuff that I've probably gone through... I felt that I was such a key element to the success of what we were doing, and now it's gone."

"We are the business. And when you're going through something where things ain't all rosy... it's difficult to continue to show face or wearing the mask, which you have to kind of do sometimes."

"When you're funneling into your business, nobody can take that away from you. In two, three years, there's nobody that can tell you to hang up this or for you to feel that feeling of... it's been taken from me."
