Episode 261 – Hokum/Over Your Dead Body

Things are getting weird this week on The Grave Plot Podcast.

First up, we’ve got another helping of Real World Horror, where we discuss a Catholic exorcist who found himself in hot water after publicly suggesting that UFOs might actually be demons in disguise. Whether you believe in little green men, little red devils, or neither, it’s certainly one of the stranger stories we’ve covered lately.

Then it’s time for Horror Business, where we strap on our proton packs for a brand new animated Ghostbusters series, venture back into the woods for yet another trip to visit the Blair Witch, and check out the latest from reunited power couple Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett, who appear ready to unleash absolute chaos with their upcoming action-horror hybrid Onslaught. We also take a look at Colony, the new infection nightmare from the director of Train to Busan, before capping things off with perhaps the most bonkers premise of the week: a Christmas-themed horror-action movie featuring a family, a cult-like obsession with the holidays, and a rogue badass Santa Claus.

Then it’s review time. First, we head to a remote cabin for Over Your Dead Body, a darkly comedic bloodbath starring Jason Segel and Samara Weaving as a married couple whose romantic getaway goes spectacularly off the rails. After that, we venture into the misty Irish countryside with Hokum, the latest supernatural chiller from Oddity director Damian McCarthy, blending folklore, grief, and creeping dread into one unsettling package. Between murderous spouses and haunted legends, we’ve got plenty to dig into this week.

So grab that special someone, bring ’em in tight, and settle in for another episode of The Grave Plot Podcast!
