00:00:00
Speaker 1: Want to make a.
00:00:06
Speaker 2: Little extra pocket change for this weekend? Yes, I do indeed. Well, look no further than Paramount Sports' Lee Sterling to tell you how. All right, we are back at the 520 Bar and Grill.
00:00:18
Speaker 3: Mike Holmgren going to join us, by the way, coming up at the top of the hour, but joining us right now on the radio show is a guy who started off a little cold, a little slow, but he is in the middle of what we like to call a rally.
00:00:30
Speaker 2: A heater. Yeah. Would you say 7-2-1 his last two weeks? 7-2-1 last two weeks. 7-2-1 his last two weeks against the spread.
00:00:34
Speaker 3: 11-14-1 overall, 4-0-1 last week. So he's coming out of his hole. You see in the day, you see in the sun, and he's about to make a huge rally and get way over 500 and make us some money. Our friend from Paramount Sports in South Florida, Lee Sterling.
00:00:54
Speaker 2: How are you, pal?
00:00:56
Speaker 1: I'm good. If you can only, you know, take off and be on a nice big bird and while we're doing the segment with Dick, things will be okay.
00:01:04
Speaker 3: I will walk out of here and go right to that bar that's about five feet away from me, and you guys can talk amongst yourselves. Well, if it was only that easy, you should have told us that 20 years ago, for crying out loud. Why don't we start off with some big games in the Big Ten. Indiana is at Nebraska. The Hoosiers look like they might be ripe, by the way, for an upset. Will it happen this week in Lincoln with the Hoosiers giving seven and a half?
00:01:29
Speaker 1: Well, the line will tell you that they are ripe, but You know, I watched that game against Northwestern, and I was impressed with Northwestern. And then they followed it up, did the Wildcats, with a beatdown of Penn State. So I think that helps them here. And this was their first tough road test, I would be forewarned. I do think Nebraska's better. I mean, I think their quarterback, Anthony Calandria, with 13 touchdowns. is much better than what they had last year. And also, their special teams were not special last year. But I just think Indiana's battle-tested Josh Hoover, 15 touchdowns, no interceptions, top two running backs over 1,100 yards and nine touchdowns, and their potential two first-round receivers, Becker and Marsh, already 12 touchdowns combined here. It's going to be a great atmosphere. We're going to kind of remind everyone of Mississippi State. It's going to be loud, but... Just like Mississippi State, these Nebraska fans will be going home disappointed. Indiana pulls away 35-21. All right.
00:02:30
Speaker 4: All right, well, Washington played a lot better last week, but it wasn't good enough because of a massive turnover by DeMond Williams costing them the game.
00:02:39
Speaker 2: Iowa comes in maybe without their starting quarterback.
00:02:41
Speaker 4: Looks like without their starting quarterback, Washington minus three against the Hawkeyes.
00:02:47
Speaker 1: Yeah, it looks like the backup, Jeremy Helinski, is going to start here. But, you know, I was watching the spring game, and I've heard a lot of chatter that looked like the offensive coordinator, Tim Lester, thought that Helinski was more their guy long-term. Now, he is a little bit more of a riverboat gambler, and that could, you know, affect the game.
00:03:09
Speaker 2: A little bit.
00:03:09
Speaker 1: But this team reminds me of Minnesota. They play hard. They don't do any one thing well here, and I think we're going to have to see more of this Washington running game. So I do think that they finally maybe have found their guy, Bonner, that's going to be able to do some damage here. They've got to get a running game here. But Iowa, they do their best work as a road underdog. In fact, last seven times as a dog, 6-1 against the spread. Dogs got to run more. 126 in the country here, just behind. Number 125th, Charlotte, who's winless here. Wrong team favorite. Iowa, straight up, 27-24.
00:03:54
Speaker 3: Yeah, Iowa's 7-1 their last eight games when their backup is making his first career start.
00:03:57
Speaker 2: And the one game they lost was against Ohio State, by the way. So we'll see. We'll see what happens tomorrow. Let's go to the NFL, man.
00:04:03
Speaker 3: The Bills, right, coming off a loss this weekend against the Rams. That game is in L.A., pretty much the obligatory three. Vegas thinks it's a toss-up with the Rams and Buffalo.
00:04:14
Speaker 2: What do you think?
00:04:16
Speaker 1: I think there's a tight game, but I like the setup here for Buffalo. Seven turnovers the last two weeks. I think it's more of a fluke here. I think they've got the best player in the NFL in Josh Allen here. I know the Rams defense is going to show them some different looks here, but Buffalo's still the number one scoring offense here. They can just make a few plays. They can get it done. Another room team favorite, Buffalo in the shootout 34-30.
00:04:42
Speaker 2: Oh, we'd like to see that.
00:04:43
Speaker 4: All right, what else we would like to see is a Hawks win at home, minus three against the 49ers.
00:04:50
Speaker 1: Yeah, and signing Joe Mixon, possibly?
00:04:54
Speaker 2: No, no, he's not coming. He's not coming. That's not happening. They signed the commanders running back.
00:05:03
Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, all right. Not a good sign here. If San Francisco can avoid penalties, I think they can make a game of it. This is the game they want. I mean, that short week in the playoffs last year in the divisional round, losing 41-6. I think Brock Purdy may be playing the best football right now of any quarterback here. I hate to say it again. Another team goes down. I like San Francisco here, 28-24. What the hell do you mean?
00:05:32
Speaker 4: God, that would be a depressing weekend if we come out with no wins.
00:05:35
Speaker 2: No doubt.
00:05:36
Speaker 3: All right, let's go Minnesota, the Saints. We got dueling picks on Factor Fiction. One of our producers, Jessamyn McIntyre, likes Minnesota. Dick likes New Orleans. Vikings minus one and a half at the Superdome on Sunday.
00:05:50
Speaker 1: Dick's my guy here. Dick has figured this game out here. So, yeah, the Vikings are 4-0, but they can't even come close to 300 yards in total offense here. Kyler Murray just not reading defenses here, and I think the Saints will rebound. Just maybe put a little too much pressure on themselves on Monday night against Atlanta, facing maybe the hottest team in the NFL here. Another upset here. Four straight upset. Wrong team favored. Vikings go down.
00:06:22
Speaker 2: Saints 23-20.
00:06:22
Speaker 1: All right.
00:06:24
Speaker 2: Game of the week.
00:06:25
Speaker 3: Oregon at home against UCLA with Dylan Rayola. Dante Moore not going to play. It's your game of the week.
00:06:33
Speaker 2: What do you got?
00:06:34
Speaker 4: Yep.
00:06:34
Speaker 1: Yeah, they want to get this game. First five callers. Just call 800-400-9741. They can get the game for free. 800-400-9741. And how about this? We call it the Thirsty Thursday game. Game tonight between the Cowboys and the Buccaneers. Just $ 25. We have not lost a Monday, Thursday, or Friday night game this year.
00:06:57
Speaker 2: You want to hop on?
00:06:58
Speaker 1: One place, ParamountSports.com.
00:07:01
Speaker 2: That means you're due, by the way. Monday, Thursday, or Friday? I'm going to pass on tonight's game. I don't like that.
00:07:06
Speaker 3: It scares the hell out of me. All right, Lee, great stuff. And we will talk in a week, man.
00:07:10
Speaker 2: Appreciate it, pal. All right, Lee.
00:07:13
Speaker 3: Sterling likes Indiana to cover against Nebraska. Iowa to win and cover against the Dogs. Buffalo to win and cover against L.A. Those are two Dogs, so.
00:07:22
Speaker 2: Forget the cover, obviously.
00:07:24
Speaker 3: Niners come here and upset the Seahawks and Minnesota and New Orleans.
00:07:29
Speaker 2: He likes the Saints against the Vikings. I don't think we can come into work on Monday if we lose both. How about this? If we lose both, I'll stay home. You do the show.
00:07:38
Speaker 1: No. Great.
00:07:39
Speaker 2: How about flip? We settled that. We settled that. Actually, we should make Jackson do it. He hasn't been here for a month. That's right.
00:07:45
Speaker 3: We're going to break. Mike Holmgren is going to join us. We're live with the 520 Bar and Grill next on 93.3 KJRFM.
Speaker 1: Want to make a.
