robert: Hey, how y'all doing? And welcome back to the record shop. This is Robert White talking to you live from the record shop. All right, so just gonna tell you about my day and then we'll talk about that later if anybody wants to you know, chime in in the the comments and we can talk about bad days at work. So I wasn't supposed to work today and I got that call at nine o'clock that someone was sick and they need someone in on I'm I'm one of those people who like shit you need me? I'm gonna come in. So I did. But the problem was that I had to get my dog going in the morning and like, you know, it's not fair to my bunny to I mean I love my dog. My little bunny. My little my my little Frenchy Boston mix You know, and and I it's not fair to like, you know, rush them, but she got so upset and I feel so guilty that I leave her. Normally Mondays are our days off to like just hang out together. So this is my question out there for you guys. Like, who else there has got like a dog that you know, or a cat or or like an iguana? Like or a snake, like that you you promise to spend the day with and then when it breaks your heart. Like even with a kid. I mean, I don't know, I don't have kids. But I mean, my dog is my kid, man, and I'll do anything for her. So that being said, sorry. I I had a rant about that because, you know, I mean I love my dog and my dog loves me and you know, it was hard to leave her this morning. It was heart wrenching, you know, when she looked at me and she We're not supposed to be up at this time. We sleep in on Mondays our day off. We just cuddle and we watch TV. Alright, so that being said, I need to have one of you text or leave a message in the the thing, and we'll talk about it next week, like or tomorrow, because we're pretty much doing this every day. Now, my next question is for Canadians. Who like bourbon and they can't drink bourbon anymore because you can't get it in Canada. What do you drink? I'm going back to Irish whiskey because it's cheaper than the Scotch. And I'm cheap. Ooh. Do you guys drink do you guys drink Canadian whiskey? I I'm I've never been a fan of rye. I I did put my marbles when I was a kid in the the the Cran Royal bag. How many of you put your marbles in a cram cram royal? Quite sure there's a lot of us out there. Next question. Any of you ever had a stalker? I had a stalker and he was kind of a cyberbully. He's on my YouTube channel. kept leaving weird things from my high school days. And I first thought it was like, ooh, someone remembers me. That's hot. Like, whoo, you get a crush. But it turns out that no. No. They ended up being a bully. which is cool because they outed me for being a a Neil Young fan. And I mean Neil Young's cool. you know, he's a classic, but You shouldn't do that to a bro, bro, whoever you are. I ran seven four seven. that that's her handle by the way. I'm just gonna reply to a text message from my wife. She says she's on her way home. So I'm gonna go, Yay I do podcast. You know, it's great. It's great because I've got two of the best things in the world. I've got a great wife and I got a great dog. and I got I I got great siblings. I love my siblings. And shout out to my siblings, Melanie, Carol and Timmy. And a big shout out to my brother Dave, who is no longer with us, but he was He was a man. He was one of those guys who made the world entertaining to say the least. All right. Now I got a question for you guys. Do you guys like your siblings? Who is your favorite sibling? Who is not your favorite sibling? And you know, do you get along? Do you guys like hang? Like I I'm far away from my family, but when I was there I used to hang with at least my two sisters. Got along with them quite a bit. my brother Timmy and I, we we get along, but it's like we're both polar opposites, right? You know, he's he's married, he's got kids, he's got grandkids, and me and my wife, you know, we got a dog and we're just kinda loosey goosey. We really like art and yeah, that that's our story. Okay, so I'm gonna have another ski. So the last time I was doing this podcast, no one got back to me in Vancouver at least about what their favorite way to relax is. So I'm gonna put this out to the world. Whoever's listening. Give me your favorite way to relax in the comments. We'll talk about it. And if any of you wanna be on this podcast, we can have a conversation. I will put you on this. We will do a split screen, we will talk. That's the thing, you know. I I just want to sit there and talk and like hang out with people and that's that's what what the world's about, you know, connections. Whether we agree or not on anything, doesn't matter. I will talk to anybody. Anybody. Okay, so also I am in the running for Top Host Canada right now. or top host, I don't know if it's in Canada, but s top host with Ryan Seacrest and all that shit. I right now am third. So now if anybody wants to vote for me for my podcast, your chance. Go to top host, Robert White. And like, share and subscribe to this podcast. You know, I'm I I I really wanna build this. I wanna build it with you. I wanna start bringing people in, random people. It doesn't matter if you're famous, it doesn't matter if you're not famous, doesn't matter what you do, man. Like let's let's let's build communities. Let's get together and like just talk. Let's just chew the fat because you know, I love you. No matter what you are. And that's what human race is about. It's about making connections. I do have another podcast I'm I'm working on with my friend Ryan Pilford. and you know, we we are we're gonna be doing some more stuff. We're just trying to edit that. That that's a little more of a conversation podcast, which is great. You know, it's great to be able to have a conversation with people and and in in both of us. We have different views on a of things, but we have a lot in common when it comes to, you know, just respect. And that's what it's about. Respect and being able to like, you know, understand whatever. We're also comedians. We're also stand up. We also do stand up and in in the Vancouver scene is great. Vancouver comedy scene's great. I I I gotta give a shout out to everybody who's in it that who's welcomed me into into the fold. I've been doing it for about a year. And I wanna give a shout out to Funky Winker Beans every Sunday at seven. funky winker beans, man, you gotta go. If you're like a new comedian, that's a great place to start to cupe your teeth. You know, there's there's no judgment. There's there's everybody's supportive and it's like you might not get the best laughs because everybody's kinda like, you know, doing their shit. But I mean, everybody's gonna sit there afterwards and be like, Hey, you did a good job. Comedy After Dark's another place, i in Vancouver that I've always had a great time. There's always new hosts, there's always new people to meet. I haven't hit a lot of other open mics unfortunately I've done Little Mountain Gallery. I've done a few shows there and that's that's fantastic. And I've also done ChunCloud. and I've thrown a few shows myself out with a bunch of friends. We have got a company called Kickdoor Comedy, which is it's it's great. so yeah it sounds like I'm like you know kissing ass and all these people but I do want to throw out tomorrow night There is a comedy roast at the Astoria. It's gonna be fantastic. I did it last Monday. I lost. But I mean, you know, sometimes you lose, sometimes you win. And I I I got to roast one of my really good friends, Kelsey O'Regan, and we had a good time. We had a good time, and both of us like we both, you know, showed up. That's the main thing. And we both didn't we had thick enough skin that it didn't matter what we said. Yeah. What else can I say? What else can I say? you know, I I I I'm drinking Jameson's. I went to the pub and my dog is breathing down my neck. You know, she's good though, right? You know, she's good right now 'cause she's chewing her bone. Alright, so I got another question for y'all out there. What's your favorite band? What's your favorite song? So, like, there's so many things out there that are fantastic. Like, I can't remember the last time I said, this is my favorite song, and then it didn't change five minutes later, right? 'Cause you hear so much of Bobard it. But I think one of my favorite s songs will be Love Te Love Will Tear Us Apart Again by Joy Division. If not my favorite band. solo band, solo singer, Lou Reed. Anything. Lou Reed is to me, he's the king. I mean, Bowie and Iggy, fantastic, but Lou Reed was a brilliant man, you know, like there was an art to the way he wrote words. Now I want to know who you think writes really good words. Who writes things that make you think? Like Mark Marin. one of the best comedians out there right now, I think, personally. And the way he writes his comedy is uplifting and degrading. Like he degrades himself and he gr degrades like not degrades. That's not the good way to put it. He he's brilliant at making you look at yourself. And himself and he. Yeah. It it's it's not like someone like who's going to make you you know, I can't see the Arab word, you know? so yeah. And I saw Al Ali Wong. Ali Wong's always good. but I found with Ali Wong E she's freaking hilarious. But it's a different kind of personal. You know, she she talks about Don't know what to say about it. It's it's a oranges and apples. We're gonna go see Josh Johnson soon. And shout out, I think he's fantastic too. And can't wait to see him. and again, shout out to the Vancouver scene. Thank you so much for accepting me, being friends with me, which is hard sometimes. And thank you so much for the good times, and there's so many good. Comics out there. There's comedy at dusk, man. That's fantastic. If you ever get a chance to go see one of those shows, comedy at dusk is wicked. the barbershop. Like I'm probably missing a million right there, you know? But just want to say thank you. I want to say give me a like, subscribe, and also give me a comment on who you think the best Vancouver comics are. Andy Warner, I think she's Brilliant. I think she's brilliant. okay, Kelsey O'Regan is a good comic. Carrie O'Regan doesn't do enough out there. Melissa Plaid has gone, but man, she was funny. She's in Toronto, so make sure you catch her out. Her and Kat. Those two are brilliant, brilliant comedians. and then the the people I love. Ryan. I love Ryan. I love Terrell. You know, I I I love sorry, my dog's puking. Taloo, you know, Brett, Brett, man, you know, th there's a million I I wish I could name them all. Pants, Stella. I love y'all. And so this is my goodbye for now. And this is my episode for today. So catch me tomorrow 'cause I will be talking again from the Wrecker Shop. And tomorrow we'll be talking about whatever you guys want to put in the comments. And if not, we'll be talking about something else. Man, I'll make shit up. Alright. See you later, guys. Bye.
