MENGENAI EPISOD INI
An authoritative voice in music, tech, and education, Erin Barra is the Director of Popular Music at Arizona State University, Executive Director of We Make Noise (formerly Beats by Girlz), course developer for Berklee Online, and former Associate Professor at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. As a community organizer, she has the ability to mobilize and build from the ground level up, creating and funding several organizations and efforts at the intersection of art, technology, education, and equity.
This week, Lisa chats with Erin about her literal reference tracks - the songs she (and her dad) use to get their bearings in a new audio space or listening medium. The two discuss the impact of Paul Simon's Graceland on the music culture, the general badassery of Annie Lennox, and how being a playback engineer is a great career choice these days.
Erin's Reference Tracks:
Graceland, Paul Simon
Money Can’t Buy It, Annie Lennox
Holding On, Disclosure
Reference Tracks features conversations with musicians, artists, and audio engineers about the songs that impacted their lives and careers, hosted by Lisa Machac of Little City Sounds. To learn more about Lisa, visit littlecitysounds.com.
