July 2, 1918 an explosion at a munitions plant shook the night, killing 65 men, injuring dozens more, and nearly took out the city of Syracuse in the process. In this episode, we dive into the history of Split Rock and the explosion on that fateful night in 1918. We'll also dive into some rabbit holes, exploring the discovery of the Hart's Tongue Fern and the evolution of the Pinkerton Detective Agency & the first female investigator- Kate Warne.
