MENGENAI EPISOD INI
In this episode of the Limitless Leaders podcast, Di Geddes and I dive into the profound importance of values in both life and leadership.
Di Geddes is the founder of Exceptional Care for You, an organisation providing amazing in-home care to those with disabilities, and those receiving aged care funding. She founded the business in 2021 after 35 years in nursing, as she wanted to provide a much higher level of care. She is the author of “Courage to be Me” and, along with being a great RG Dynamics client, a friend, and a quality human being making a difference to all of those around her, she uses her lifetime of challenges as opportunities to grow, and give back to the community.
Di shares how Exceptional Care for You was built on a foundation of five core values: teamwork, excellence, compassion, tolerance (openness), and commitment. We discuss how true leadership is a by-product of purpose, leading with the heart, and how defining and living by your values can help you make the toughest business decisions, including walking away from toxic client situations that do not align with your culture.

- Living your core values makes hard decisions easier. Di shares how Exceptional Care for You actively lives by their five core values: Teamwork, Excellence, Compassion, Tolerance, and Commitment. When decisions interlock with your values, it is a yes; when they do not, it is a clear no.
- Compassion and empathy are essential muscles. For many clients in home care, carers might be the only people they see all week. Taking the time to step back, breathe, and put yourself in their shoes is a crucial part of human-centered leadership.
- Commitment goes far beyond compliance. True commitment means having a sole purpose and being deeply motivated to show up for your clients and your team, rather than just showing up for a shift.
- Finding the gifts in our greatest challenges. Di opens up about her personal journey through breast cancer, a difficult divorce, and financial rebuilding, proving that life’s hardest moments often provide the building blocks and self-belief needed to create a successful, purpose-led life.
- The human element is irreplaceable. In a world increasingly driven by AI and automation, genuine kindness, emotional intelligence, and a “good heart” are the ultimate differentiators in business and leadership.
- Self-belief is the foundation of growth. You only achieve when you step out of your comfort zone. Cultivating the self-belief to take risks is the key to stepping into strategic leadership and creating a meaningful impact.
