MENGENAI EPISOD INI
In this episode of Heaven’s Code, we decode one of the most misunderstood books of scripture: Leviticus. Often viewed as a mere list of archaic priestly rituals, we reveal that Leviticus is actually a textual map of the temple designed to guide the reader through the stages of Heaven’s Code—from the outer courtyard to the Holy of Holies. Building on the anthropological insights of Mary Douglas, John W. "Jack" Welch and host John S. Thompson explore how the structure of Leviticus mirrors the architectural layout of the Tabernacle: The Courtyard (Chapters 1–16): Known as the Priestly Code, these chapters focus on ritual purity, animal sacrifice, and the laws required to remain "clean" enough to stand on holy ground. The Doorway (Chapters 18–20): These threshold chapters move the focus from external "cleanness" to internal "holiness," marking the transition into a higher way of life. The Holy Place (Chapters 21–24): This section emphasizes the moral and ritual requirements for the entire community to be "holy" as God is holy. The Holy of Holies (Chapters 25–27): The book culminates with the "rest" of sabbath years and the Jubilee, where all things are restored, as well as God's own voice declaring all blessings upon the faithful. We examine the critical distinction between being clean and being holy: The Preparatory Law: Like the first leg of the Exodus journey, the initial laws Moses recorded in his book at Sinai focused on obedience and sacrifice—the "clean hands" required for the courtyard. The Higher Law: Moses’s reception of the stone tablets in the mountain provided a higher law written by the finger of God, moving the mandate to a "pure heart" and the full consecration of the soul. The episode concludes by drawing a powerful parallel to Latter-day Saint history: Just as Israel moved from the "preparatory" wilderness to receive a Higher Law at Sinai, the early Saints moved from New York to Kirtland, Ohio, to receive God's law and be "endowed with power from on high". Doctrine and Covenants 42 can be viewed as a modern "Holiness Code," where the Lord repeated the preparatory laws of obedience and sacrifice while inviting His people to "[act] in all holiness" (D&C 43:9) through the laws of chastity and consecration. Leviticus is not a book of the past; it is a map for the present. Join us as we walk the path from the altar to the veil to discover the ancient architecture of a holy life.0:00 Leviticus in the Exodus1:11 The Two Law Codes of Leviticus4:02 John W.
