00:00:29.920 --> 00:00:38.560
Hello, this is a Dissonant Whispers interview, and I am Oleander Hawthorne here with Drewkin Beard Nurse.
00:00:38.880 --> 00:00:39.679
That's me.
00:00:39.920 --> 00:00:42.240
Now, this is gonna be horrible for me to say.
00:00:42.399 --> 00:00:43.920
We've been playing for two and a half years.
00:00:44.159 --> 00:00:48.079
Dreuken I N or E N because I keep writing it wrong.
00:00:48.479 --> 00:00:48.960
IN.
00:00:49.280 --> 00:00:49.840
I N.
00:00:51.119 --> 00:00:54.000
My autocorrect wants to change it to EN.
00:00:54.560 --> 00:00:55.280
Auto correct for you.
00:00:55.439 --> 00:00:56.880
Yeah, autocorrect hates E.
00:00:57.920 --> 00:00:58.880
Hates everybody.
00:00:59.119 --> 00:00:59.439
Okay.
00:00:59.920 --> 00:01:00.479
Alright.
00:01:00.640 --> 00:01:09.200
Now, um, when you were creating Drewkin, what kind of character were you trying to make when this when this originally started?
00:01:09.519 --> 00:01:14.159
So when I originally started, I honestly didn't know what I wanted to create.
00:01:14.400 --> 00:01:18.640
Um I wanted to be the healer of the group, just because it's more fun.
00:01:18.799 --> 00:01:20.959
So I don't too many people think that.
00:01:21.200 --> 00:01:22.560
No, no, they don't.
00:01:22.879 --> 00:01:27.280
But I I was just gonna do, honestly, just a straight cleric built all the way up.
00:01:27.359 --> 00:01:29.120
I wasn't gonna do anything.
00:01:29.359 --> 00:01:36.799
Um he was just gonna be the the the protector of the group, and that's what he was built for.
00:01:36.959 --> 00:01:40.400
You know, he's a big fur bog, he's a big teddy bear.
00:01:40.719 --> 00:01:42.799
In in in some people's acts.
00:01:43.120 --> 00:01:46.560
Um but yeah, I mean that's that's how I create him.
00:01:46.640 --> 00:01:49.120
I just want him to be the guardian of everybody.
00:01:49.200 --> 00:01:54.719
He wants everybody to have what they're here for and stay around.
00:01:55.200 --> 00:01:55.840
Alright.
00:01:56.000 --> 00:02:00.319
Uh how has your character deviated from your original plan?
00:02:00.959 --> 00:02:02.480
Well, he deviated.
00:02:02.560 --> 00:02:05.040
Well, he was good all the way, and then he died.
00:02:05.280 --> 00:02:12.000
So that that whole death on him changed his whole outlook on his life.
00:02:12.159 --> 00:02:16.639
Um, he didn't have really anybody to look to look up to with his life.
00:02:16.719 --> 00:02:19.039
He didn't really have anywhere to belong to.
00:02:19.199 --> 00:02:22.479
So when he died, he found his God.
00:02:22.639 --> 00:02:25.199
He found his path through life.
00:02:25.439 --> 00:02:26.560
He literally found his god.
00:02:27.280 --> 00:02:28.159
That's not a figurative.
00:02:28.560 --> 00:02:29.680
He literally found his god.
00:02:30.080 --> 00:02:32.560
With that part, I I changed him up a bit.
00:02:32.639 --> 00:02:39.439
You know, he went from being straight clair to throwing a little bit into the Pally side of things.
00:02:39.520 --> 00:02:47.039
Not very much, but just a bit into it just to bring his storyline more bring it up more.
00:02:47.120 --> 00:02:51.599
Like give him a little bit more to look towards and have a little bit more fun.
00:02:51.919 --> 00:02:56.879
Um, but that's pretty much where he changed his whole outlook on everything was dead.
00:02:57.520 --> 00:02:58.800
Now, who is your god?
00:02:59.120 --> 00:02:59.599
The god?
00:02:59.759 --> 00:03:17.759
So his god is the Raven Queen, and that's why he went more to the Pally side of it because he's the Pally is against the undead, he's against non-natural death, and that's where it turned with him because of the Raven Queen.
00:03:18.080 --> 00:03:26.159
Now, I gotta say that in a completely biased perspective, this has caused me a lot of grief.
00:03:26.560 --> 00:03:27.520
Yes, yes, it has.
00:03:27.759 --> 00:03:37.039
You know, very selfishly, I I must say that uh him having an issue with the undead has, yeah, it's it's caused me a dilemma.
00:03:37.280 --> 00:03:43.840
Yes, yes, because we were close at the beginning and then we kind of split a little, but we haven't split all the way.
00:03:44.080 --> 00:03:58.000
Yeah, Oleander and Drewkin were uh attached at the hip for about a year uh of out of you know of you know real life year uh in game that was only a couple weeks.
00:03:58.800 --> 00:04:00.319
Yeah, yeah, it wasn't very long in.
00:04:00.719 --> 00:04:13.360
I can't remember what day you died, but uh Oleander was ready to essentially tear the world down around her uh in order to bring him back, and then he came back wrong.
00:04:13.759 --> 00:04:14.879
Not wrong.
00:04:15.199 --> 00:04:16.959
He came back differently.
00:04:17.199 --> 00:04:21.519
But he still looked at you the same because he knew who you were before.
00:04:22.399 --> 00:04:26.800
When you say I love you, but that but is the overriding.
00:04:28.319 --> 00:04:33.519
So, um, is there anything from your background or backstory that you want to tell people about?
00:04:33.680 --> 00:04:44.720
Either that has been revealed prior to recording, or as part of your character's motivations or personality, things that affect your choices but wouldn't necessarily come up in discussion in the game.
00:04:44.959 --> 00:04:50.720
So without giving spoilers to the recorded parts, um You know, not much.
00:04:50.959 --> 00:04:54.879
I mean, I know he's pretty straightforward to what he says.
00:04:55.199 --> 00:04:56.240
He hides everything.
00:04:56.480 --> 00:04:57.839
I don't hide everything.
00:04:58.079 --> 00:05:20.480
I mean, there there's a few things that, yes, he hasn't had the chance to really talk to the group about stuff because we've been going from you know, battle to battle to just the whole play's been amazing, but he just hasn't really had the whole chance to really sit down and talk to everybody.
00:05:20.639 --> 00:05:29.279
I mean, I know me and you had our talk and we we we hashed our stuff out, and that was pre-recording, which would have been amazing if it was recorded, but it wasn't.
00:05:29.519 --> 00:05:31.199
But no, that was in the recordings.
00:05:31.600 --> 00:05:32.000
Yeah.
00:05:32.560 --> 00:05:32.639
Yeah.
00:05:32.879 --> 00:05:35.040
Show some of the things that was an I Love You Butt.
00:05:35.279 --> 00:05:36.480
Ah, well, yeah.
00:05:36.959 --> 00:05:43.920
But yeah, I mean, other than that, he he's he just hasn't had the time to really sit down and and talk.
00:05:44.160 --> 00:05:51.680
Our campaign has been so intense that even though we have been together for less than a month and a half, I think.
00:05:51.839 --> 00:05:55.040
Um, or maybe about a month and a half.
00:05:55.279 --> 00:05:57.839
I thought we were yeah, we're like 48 days or something.
00:05:58.160 --> 00:06:01.120
Yeah, um, yeah, right in that win window.
00:06:01.439 --> 00:06:08.560
But uh we've we've had such an intense time that our and and our characters are all very private, like surprisingly private people.
00:06:08.720 --> 00:06:20.800
Nobody wants to intrude on anyone else's business without being invited in, but because nobody wants to um intrude, none of us have really gotten to know each other very well, actually.
00:06:20.879 --> 00:06:25.600
Uh it's it's very um very seldom that we open up to each other.
00:06:25.759 --> 00:06:31.439
Yeah so it's a it's a bizarrely distant uh yet close group at the same time.
00:06:31.759 --> 00:06:39.920
Yeah, yeah, there's there's been conflict and non-conflict, and we just really haven't been able to relax and actually talk about life.
00:06:40.160 --> 00:06:47.600
Yes, and I think that if somebody gave us a few days of rest, then he's shaking his head.
00:06:47.680 --> 00:06:49.040
Our DM's shaking his head.
00:06:49.120 --> 00:06:50.560
He's not gonna give us any rest.
00:06:50.800 --> 00:06:51.120
No.
00:06:52.079 --> 00:06:54.319
Then we can really help some stuff out.
00:06:54.720 --> 00:06:58.399
Get to getting to know each other, and you guys don't know shit about me.
00:06:58.639 --> 00:07:00.959
No, all we know is you're in a cult, and that's about it.
00:07:01.360 --> 00:07:02.319
I'm in a cult!
00:07:04.160 --> 00:07:07.839
Just a very loving, secluded group of people.
00:07:08.079 --> 00:07:10.399
They just don't understand tight-knit small families.
00:07:11.360 --> 00:07:18.399
Alright, what is your favorite game moment prior to recording that affected your character's development or choices?
00:07:20.879 --> 00:07:32.399
There's one, and it it comes up a lot because I think it was hilarious, everybody else thinks it's funny, but it was the the Delphine and Theron fight.
00:07:32.560 --> 00:07:43.040
You know, that whole thing was just it was incredible to watch, and everybody who was there in like in game style didn't know what was going on, except for me.
00:07:43.199 --> 00:07:48.959
I noticed something in it that made me dislike there.
00:07:49.360 --> 00:07:50.639
What was it that you noticed?
00:07:50.879 --> 00:08:02.240
So I noticed because all like they're fighting, and then all of a sudden Darren just turns and he goes up to you and it schmoozes you.
00:08:02.639 --> 00:08:10.240
So my guy looked at it and was like, oh, so you're just you know, you're charming everybody to like you.
00:08:10.319 --> 00:08:12.240
And I was instantly smitten.
00:08:12.399 --> 00:08:22.879
Yes, and I didn't like that because at that point, you were my I was there that you guys are I'm protecting you, and I know I don't want you guys to go wrong.
00:08:23.120 --> 00:08:33.679
And seeing that Delphine and him are arguing, and then all of a sudden he goes to her best friend in game and schmoozes her, and now she's all smitten over him.
00:08:33.840 --> 00:08:34.639
I don't like it.
00:08:34.879 --> 00:08:37.600
It was uh, you know, just very irrational moment.
00:08:37.679 --> 00:08:40.799
I don't know why suddenly I would have been so smitten.
00:08:41.039 --> 00:08:46.080
And it wasn't even it wasn't even planned for me to even hate the like it wasn't planned at all.
00:08:46.159 --> 00:08:47.120
It just had it.
00:08:47.200 --> 00:08:53.440
So it was just like a spur of the moment thing, and I think that is where it it it went into.
00:08:54.080 --> 00:09:02.480
And then, you know, I found out stuff about Darren afterwards, and I tried throwing them off of, you know, I was tempted to throw them off of the balcony, but I didn't.
00:09:02.799 --> 00:09:05.039
You know, it was it was a fun image.
00:09:05.279 --> 00:09:13.759
It would have been great, but being a cleric and a lawful good character, you can't do stuff like that.
00:09:13.919 --> 00:09:17.519
Your your inside thoughts and wishes uh have to stay inside.
00:09:17.759 --> 00:09:18.159
Yes, yeah.
00:09:18.480 --> 00:09:20.879
I can't I can't show them that much.
00:09:21.039 --> 00:09:21.919
Yeah, yeah.
00:09:22.159 --> 00:09:26.159
But that's where my my change of my character went with the boat here.
00:09:26.720 --> 00:09:29.039
And now, what is your uh goal or aspiration?
00:09:29.120 --> 00:09:31.440
What what is Drunken trying to accomplish?
00:09:31.759 --> 00:09:34.080
God, I don't even know.
00:09:34.559 --> 00:09:42.480
Um That's a hard question, just because there's so much that he needs to still learn.
00:09:42.799 --> 00:09:46.720
Like he still has to learn more on the Raven Queen, on his god.
00:09:47.360 --> 00:09:53.679
Um he needs to figure out other stuff that we need to figure out.
00:09:53.840 --> 00:09:57.279
I mean, there's that's a that's a tough question.
00:09:58.240 --> 00:10:08.639
Um now obviously we know where your allegiance lies, but how do you feel about that?
00:10:08.799 --> 00:10:25.679
Um you you basically have had um the Raven Queen come in and say, hey, these are the things that you have to stand for, but those weren't things that you were raised into, those were just um those were imposed upon you externally.
00:10:25.919 --> 00:10:30.639
So how what what are Drunken's feelings about uh the Raven Queen's rules?
00:10:31.120 --> 00:10:35.279
He he obeys them, he understands the rules.
00:10:35.600 --> 00:10:41.120
Now, when it comes to certain party members, he understands.
00:10:41.279 --> 00:10:56.559
He knows that like he knows that that's not right in his in his eyes, that he knows that you weren't you were forced upon this, so you weren't born into the vampirism.
00:10:57.279 --> 00:11:06.879
Or you know, same with um with Einar being hit like how he is, he wasn't born into that, he got forced into it.
00:11:07.200 --> 00:11:24.480
So I know how you were before that happened, and he knows you're a good kid, like a good person at that point, but he also knows that that side of you could turn and go bad, and that's what he doesn't want.
00:11:24.720 --> 00:11:35.759
So he's trying to find his way to I don't want to say it in a bad way, but kind of like cure that side if he can.
00:11:36.000 --> 00:11:38.399
He wants to cure something about us.
00:11:38.799 --> 00:11:40.720
He wants to take the devil out of you.
00:11:41.039 --> 00:11:41.679
Yeah.
00:11:43.039 --> 00:11:45.600
But not in that, you know, not in a bad way.
00:11:45.840 --> 00:12:00.639
But it it it's he's trying to he's just trying to uh like I don't even know how to even say it, but he thinks there's something wrong with us and he wants to just leech it on out.
00:12:00.879 --> 00:12:02.320
Yes, pretty much.
00:12:02.559 --> 00:12:02.879
Yeah.
00:12:03.120 --> 00:12:06.639
Even if we say there's nothing wrong with us, he doesn't believe us.
00:12:07.039 --> 00:12:09.600
No, because vampirism is wrong.
00:12:09.759 --> 00:12:12.480
Yes, everybody says you're evil if you're a necromancer.
00:12:12.720 --> 00:12:15.039
But you're not necessarily evil.
00:12:15.200 --> 00:12:18.080
You just have an evil tendency.
00:12:18.879 --> 00:12:20.799
To clarify, I'm not a necromancer.
00:12:21.039 --> 00:12:30.879
That was just um Is there anything in particular that you would want to uh anything else you want to tell us about your character?
00:12:33.279 --> 00:12:40.879
I mean, I've said a lot, and like he knows there's not much to him, but he's I know he he's still trying to figure out his god.
00:12:41.519 --> 00:12:50.639
That's the main thing right now that he's in conflict with is most gods or deities, they don't give you straight answers.
00:12:50.960 --> 00:12:59.279
So he's confused on what he has to do, but he knows what he has to do, but he doesn't know what he wants to do, but he's you know he doesn't want to do what he doesn't do.
00:12:59.360 --> 00:13:03.919
He doesn't want to do what he has to do, but he's confused on what's gonna happen.
00:13:04.159 --> 00:13:04.639
Yeah.
00:13:04.960 --> 00:13:10.720
I personally would love to see um what the consequences of you not doing what you're supposed to do.
00:13:11.039 --> 00:13:13.360
I I know some consequences already.
00:13:14.159 --> 00:13:16.399
So and it's happened a few times.
00:13:16.720 --> 00:13:20.879
Like the first time I cured you, I started on fair to do.
00:13:21.200 --> 00:13:23.600
Oh yeah! I forgot about that.
00:13:24.080 --> 00:13:32.799
That was really great because it's actually um he he has a special ability to um get rid of the vampirism.
00:13:33.200 --> 00:13:40.000
Yeah, to temporarily um calm it, I don't know, what the word to take us out of vamp mode.
00:13:40.240 --> 00:13:47.440
Yes, so it takes away all your abilities and your feeding and your hunger, and it puts you back to who you were beforehand.
00:13:47.759 --> 00:13:49.039
Puts us back to square one.
00:13:49.200 --> 00:13:57.279
However, unlike Einar, Oliander is very difficult to hit with this ability.
00:13:57.600 --> 00:14:05.519
And the very first time he tried to cure me, he failed, and then he failed, and then he failed, and I didn't understand.
00:14:05.919 --> 00:14:07.200
I only failed twice.
00:14:08.080 --> 00:14:09.759
But I started on fire too.
00:14:10.000 --> 00:14:21.279
Yeah, he was getting injured, like severely injured, and I'm running towards him trying to help, and he's trying to run away from me and and and ditch me because I'm hurting him essentially.
00:14:21.519 --> 00:14:22.559
And uh yeah, that was good.
00:14:22.720 --> 00:14:23.120
That was crazy.
00:14:23.360 --> 00:14:41.600
That was that was actually um one of uh that was one of Oleander's most traumatizing nights because you never explained to her what was happening, and she has never like in the during the campaign, she had never felt quite so abandoned as um somebody running away from her that she cared about.
00:14:42.080 --> 00:14:42.799
Well, she's gonna be able to do that.
00:14:42.960 --> 00:14:44.320
That is that is very true.
00:14:44.559 --> 00:14:45.039
Yeah.
00:14:45.279 --> 00:14:46.159
She was interesting.
00:14:46.320 --> 00:14:46.559
Yeah.
00:14:46.720 --> 00:14:52.480
Now, um, I got one more thing for you that I want you to repeat after me.
00:14:52.799 --> 00:14:55.279
My I don't know if I want to repeat this afternoon.
00:14:56.240 --> 00:14:58.159
My God.
00:14:58.720 --> 00:15:02.480
No, I'm not saying I know what you're gonna do, and it's not gonna happen.
00:15:02.720 --> 00:15:04.320
She's awful and a hater.
00:15:04.480 --> 00:15:05.279
She's grit.
00:15:06.559 --> 00:15:07.679
She's evil.
00:15:08.240 --> 00:15:09.919
Only because you're undead.
00:15:10.240 --> 00:15:14.159
I may eventually just have to have a vendetta against her.
00:15:14.399 --> 00:15:15.279
Well, that's you.
00:15:15.919 --> 00:15:16.559
That's on you.
00:15:16.720 --> 00:15:17.120
Yeah.
00:15:17.279 --> 00:15:18.240
Well, that might be on.
00:15:20.000 --> 00:15:24.320
Thank you very much, Drewkin, for joining me for a little get to know you.
00:15:24.480 --> 00:15:25.039
You're welcome.
00:15:26.320 --> 00:15:26.960
Bye.
00:00:29.920 --> 00:00:38.560
Hello, this is a Dissonant Whispers interview, and I am Oleander Hawthorne here with Drewkin Beard Nurse.
00:00:38.880 --> 00:00:39.679
That's me.
00:00:39.920 --> 00:00:42.240
Now, this is gonna be horrible for me to say.
00:00:42.399 --> 00:00:43.920
We've been playing for two and a half years.
00:00:44.159 --> 00:00:48.079
Dreuken I N or E N because I keep writing it wrong.
00:00:48.479 --> 00:00:48.960
IN.
00:00:49.280 --> 00:00:49.840
I N.
00:00:51.119 --> 00:00:54.000
My autocorrect wants to change it to EN.
00:00:54.560 --> 00:00:55.280
Auto correct for you.
00:00:55.439 --> 00:00:56.880
Yeah, autocorrect hates E.
00:00:57.920 --> 00:00:58.880
Hates everybody.
00:00:59.119 --> 00:00:59.439
Okay.
00:00:59.920 --> 00:01:00.479
Alright.
00:01:00.640 --> 00:01:09.200
Now, um, when you were creating Drewkin, what kind of character were you trying to make when this when this originally started?
00:01:09.519 --> 00:01:14.159
So when I originally started, I honestly didn't know what I wanted to create.
00:01:14.400 --> 00:01:18.640
Um I wanted to be the healer of the group, just because it's more fun.
00:01:18.799 --> 00:01:20.959
So I don't too many people think that.
00:01:21.200 --> 00:01:22.560
No, no, they don't.
00:01:22.879 --> 00:01:27.280
But I I was just gonna do, honestly, just a straight cleric built all the way up.
00:01:27.359 --> 00:01:29.120
I wasn't gonna do anything.
00:01:29.359 --> 00:01:36.799
Um he was just gonna be the the the protector of the group, and that's what he was built for.
00:01:36.959 --> 00:01:40.400
You know, he's a big fur bog, he's a big teddy bear.
00:01:40.719 --> 00:01:42.799
In in in some people's acts.
00:01:43.120 --> 00:01:46.560
Um but yeah, I mean that's that's how I create him.
00:01:46.640 --> 00:01:49.120
I just want him to be the guardian of everybody.
00:01:49.200 --> 00:01:54.719
He wants everybody to have what they're here for and stay around.
00:01:55.200 --> 00:01:55.840
Alright.
00:01:56.000 --> 00:02:00.319
Uh how has your character deviated from your original plan?
00:02:00.959 --> 00:02:02.480
Well, he deviated.
00:02:02.560 --> 00:02:05.040
Well, he was good all the way, and then he died.
00:02:05.280 --> 00:02:12.000
So that that whole death on him changed his whole outlook on his life.
00:02:12.159 --> 00:02:16.639
Um, he didn't have really anybody to look to look up to with his life.
00:02:16.719 --> 00:02:19.039
He didn't really have anywhere to belong to.
00:02:19.199 --> 00:02:22.479
So when he died, he found his God.
00:02:22.639 --> 00:02:25.199
He found his path through life.
00:02:25.439 --> 00:02:26.560
He literally found his god.
00:02:27.280 --> 00:02:28.159
That's not a figurative.
00:02:28.560 --> 00:02:29.680
He literally found his god.
00:02:30.080 --> 00:02:32.560
With that part, I I changed him up a bit.
00:02:32.639 --> 00:02:39.439
You know, he went from being straight clair to throwing a little bit into the Pally side of things.
00:02:39.520 --> 00:02:47.039
Not very much, but just a bit into it just to bring his storyline more bring it up more.
00:02:47.120 --> 00:02:51.599
Like give him a little bit more to look towards and have a little bit more fun.
00:02:51.919 --> 00:02:56.879
Um, but that's pretty much where he changed his whole outlook on everything was dead.
00:02:57.520 --> 00:02:58.800
Now, who is your god?
00:02:59.120 --> 00:02:59.599
The god?
00:02:59.759 --> 00:03:17.759
So his god is the Raven Queen, and that's why he went more to the Pally side of it because he's the Pally is against the undead, he's against non-natural death, and that's where it turned with him because of the Raven Queen.
00:03:18.080 --> 00:03:26.159
Now, I gotta say that in a completely biased perspective, this has caused me a lot of grief.
00:03:26.560 --> 00:03:27.520
Yes, yes, it has.
00:03:27.759 --> 00:03:37.039
You know, very selfishly, I I must say that uh him having an issue with the undead has, yeah, it's it's caused me a dilemma.
00:03:37.280 --> 00:03:43.840
Yes, yes, because we were close at the beginning and then we kind of split a little, but we haven't split all the way.
00:03:44.080 --> 00:03:58.000
Yeah, Oleander and Drewkin were uh attached at the hip for about a year uh of out of you know of you know real life year uh in game that was only a couple weeks.
00:03:58.800 --> 00:04:00.319
Yeah, yeah, it wasn't very long in.
00:04:00.719 --> 00:04:13.360
I can't remember what day you died, but uh Oleander was ready to essentially tear the world down around her uh in order to bring him back, and then he came back wrong.
00:04:13.759 --> 00:04:14.879
Not wrong.
00:04:15.199 --> 00:04:16.959
He came back differently.
00:04:17.199 --> 00:04:21.519
But he still looked at you the same because he knew who you were before.
00:04:22.399 --> 00:04:26.800
When you say I love you, but that but is the overriding.
00:04:28.319 --> 00:04:33.519
So, um, is there anything from your background or backstory that you want to tell people about?
00:04:33.680 --> 00:04:44.720
Either that has been revealed prior to recording, or as part of your character's motivations or personality, things that affect your choices but wouldn't necessarily come up in discussion in the game.
00:04:44.959 --> 00:04:50.720
So without giving spoilers to the recorded parts, um You know, not much.
00:04:50.959 --> 00:04:54.879
I mean, I know he's pretty straightforward to what he says.
00:04:55.199 --> 00:04:56.240
He hides everything.
00:04:56.480 --> 00:04:57.839
I don't hide everything.
00:04:58.079 --> 00:05:20.480
I mean, there there's a few things that, yes, he hasn't had the chance to really talk to the group about stuff because we've been going from you know, battle to battle to just the whole play's been amazing, but he just hasn't really had the whole chance to really sit down and talk to everybody.
00:05:20.639 --> 00:05:29.279
I mean, I know me and you had our talk and we we we hashed our stuff out, and that was pre-recording, which would have been amazing if it was recorded, but it wasn't.
00:05:29.519 --> 00:05:31.199
But no, that was in the recordings.
00:05:31.600 --> 00:05:32.000
Yeah.
00:05:32.560 --> 00:05:32.639
Yeah.
00:05:32.879 --> 00:05:35.040
Show some of the things that was an I Love You Butt.
00:05:35.279 --> 00:05:36.480
Ah, well, yeah.
00:05:36.959 --> 00:05:43.920
But yeah, I mean, other than that, he he's he just hasn't had the time to really sit down and and talk.
00:05:44.160 --> 00:05:51.680
Our campaign has been so intense that even though we have been together for less than a month and a half, I think.
00:05:51.839 --> 00:05:55.040
Um, or maybe about a month and a half.
00:05:55.279 --> 00:05:57.839
I thought we were yeah, we're like 48 days or something.
00:05:58.160 --> 00:06:01.120
Yeah, um, yeah, right in that win window.
00:06:01.439 --> 00:06:08.560
But uh we've we've had such an intense time that our and and our characters are all very private, like surprisingly private people.
00:06:08.720 --> 00:06:20.800
Nobody wants to intrude on anyone else's business without being invited in, but because nobody wants to um intrude, none of us have really gotten to know each other very well, actually.
00:06:20.879 --> 00:06:25.600
Uh it's it's very um very seldom that we open up to each other.
00:06:25.759 --> 00:06:31.439
Yeah so it's a it's a bizarrely distant uh yet close group at the same time.
00:06:31.759 --> 00:06:39.920
Yeah, yeah, there's there's been conflict and non-conflict, and we just really haven't been able to relax and actually talk about life.
00:06:40.160 --> 00:06:47.600
Yes, and I think that if somebody gave us a few days of rest, then he's shaking his head.
00:06:47.680 --> 00:06:49.040
Our DM's shaking his head.
00:06:49.120 --> 00:06:50.560
He's not gonna give us any rest.
00:06:50.800 --> 00:06:51.120
No.
00:06:52.079 --> 00:06:54.319
Then we can really help some stuff out.
00:06:54.720 --> 00:06:58.399
Get to getting to know each other, and you guys don't know shit about me.
00:06:58.639 --> 00:07:00.959
No, all we know is you're in a cult, and that's about it.
00:07:01.360 --> 00:07:02.319
I'm in a cult!
00:07:04.160 --> 00:07:07.839
Just a very loving, secluded group of people.
00:07:08.079 --> 00:07:10.399
They just don't understand tight-knit small families.
00:07:11.360 --> 00:07:18.399
Alright, what is your favorite game moment prior to recording that affected your character's development or choices?
00:07:20.879 --> 00:07:32.399
There's one, and it it comes up a lot because I think it was hilarious, everybody else thinks it's funny, but it was the the Delphine and Theron fight.
00:07:32.560 --> 00:07:43.040
You know, that whole thing was just it was incredible to watch, and everybody who was there in like in game style didn't know what was going on, except for me.
00:07:43.199 --> 00:07:48.959
I noticed something in it that made me dislike there.
00:07:49.360 --> 00:07:50.639
What was it that you noticed?
00:07:50.879 --> 00:08:02.240
So I noticed because all like they're fighting, and then all of a sudden Darren just turns and he goes up to you and it schmoozes you.
00:08:02.639 --> 00:08:10.240
So my guy looked at it and was like, oh, so you're just you know, you're charming everybody to like you.
00:08:10.319 --> 00:08:12.240
And I was instantly smitten.
00:08:12.399 --> 00:08:22.879
Yes, and I didn't like that because at that point, you were my I was there that you guys are I'm protecting you, and I know I don't want you guys to go wrong.
00:08:23.120 --> 00:08:33.679
And seeing that Delphine and him are arguing, and then all of a sudden he goes to her best friend in game and schmoozes her, and now she's all smitten over him.
00:08:33.840 --> 00:08:34.639
I don't like it.
00:08:34.879 --> 00:08:37.600
It was uh, you know, just very irrational moment.
00:08:37.679 --> 00:08:40.799
I don't know why suddenly I would have been so smitten.
00:08:41.039 --> 00:08:46.080
And it wasn't even it wasn't even planned for me to even hate the like it wasn't planned at all.
00:08:46.159 --> 00:08:47.120
It just had it.
00:08:47.200 --> 00:08:53.440
So it was just like a spur of the moment thing, and I think that is where it it it went into.
00:08:54.080 --> 00:09:02.480
And then, you know, I found out stuff about Darren afterwards, and I tried throwing them off of, you know, I was tempted to throw them off of the balcony, but I didn't.
00:09:02.799 --> 00:09:05.039
You know, it was it was a fun image.
00:09:05.279 --> 00:09:13.759
It would have been great, but being a cleric and a lawful good character, you can't do stuff like that.
00:09:13.919 --> 00:09:17.519
Your your inside thoughts and wishes uh have to stay inside.
00:09:17.759 --> 00:09:18.159
Yes, yeah.
00:09:18.480 --> 00:09:20.879
I can't I can't show them that much.
00:09:21.039 --> 00:09:21.919
Yeah, yeah.
00:09:22.159 --> 00:09:26.159
But that's where my my change of my character went with the boat here.
00:09:26.720 --> 00:09:29.039
And now, what is your uh goal or aspiration?
00:09:29.120 --> 00:09:31.440
What what is Drunken trying to accomplish?
00:09:31.759 --> 00:09:34.080
God, I don't even know.
00:09:34.559 --> 00:09:42.480
Um That's a hard question, just because there's so much that he needs to still learn.
00:09:42.799 --> 00:09:46.720
Like he still has to learn more on the Raven Queen, on his god.
00:09:47.360 --> 00:09:53.679
Um he needs to figure out other stuff that we need to figure out.
00:09:53.840 --> 00:09:57.279
I mean, there's that's a that's a tough question.
00:09:58.240 --> 00:10:08.639
Um now obviously we know where your allegiance lies, but how do you feel about that?
00:10:08.799 --> 00:10:25.679
Um you you basically have had um the Raven Queen come in and say, hey, these are the things that you have to stand for, but those weren't things that you were raised into, those were just um those were imposed upon you externally.
00:10:25.919 --> 00:10:30.639
So how what what are Drunken's feelings about uh the Raven Queen's rules?
00:10:31.120 --> 00:10:35.279
He he obeys them, he understands the rules.
00:10:35.600 --> 00:10:41.120
Now, when it comes to certain party members, he understands.
00:10:41.279 --> 00:10:56.559
He knows that like he knows that that's not right in his in his eyes, that he knows that you weren't you were forced upon this, so you weren't born into the vampirism.
00:10:57.279 --> 00:11:06.879
Or you know, same with um with Einar being hit like how he is, he wasn't born into that, he got forced into it.
00:11:07.200 --> 00:11:24.480
So I know how you were before that happened, and he knows you're a good kid, like a good person at that point, but he also knows that that side of you could turn and go bad, and that's what he doesn't want.
00:11:24.720 --> 00:11:35.759
So he's trying to find his way to I don't want to say it in a bad way, but kind of like cure that side if he can.
00:11:36.000 --> 00:11:38.399
He wants to cure something about us.
00:11:38.799 --> 00:11:40.720
He wants to take the devil out of you.
00:11:41.039 --> 00:11:41.679
Yeah.
00:11:43.039 --> 00:11:45.600
But not in that, you know, not in a bad way.
00:11:45.840 --> 00:12:00.639
But it it it's he's trying to he's just trying to uh like I don't even know how to even say it, but he thinks there's something wrong with us and he wants to just leech it on out.
00:12:00.879 --> 00:12:02.320
Yes, pretty much.
00:12:02.559 --> 00:12:02.879
Yeah.
00:12:03.120 --> 00:12:06.639
Even if we say there's nothing wrong with us, he doesn't believe us.
00:12:07.039 --> 00:12:09.600
No, because vampirism is wrong.
00:12:09.759 --> 00:12:12.480
Yes, everybody says you're evil if you're a necromancer.
00:12:12.720 --> 00:12:15.039
But you're not necessarily evil.
00:12:15.200 --> 00:12:18.080
You just have an evil tendency.
00:12:18.879 --> 00:12:20.799
To clarify, I'm not a necromancer.
00:12:21.039 --> 00:12:30.879
That was just um Is there anything in particular that you would want to uh anything else you want to tell us about your character?
00:12:33.279 --> 00:12:40.879
I mean, I've said a lot, and like he knows there's not much to him, but he's I know he he's still trying to figure out his god.
00:12:41.519 --> 00:12:50.639
That's the main thing right now that he's in conflict with is most gods or deities, they don't give you straight answers.
00:12:50.960 --> 00:12:59.279
So he's confused on what he has to do, but he knows what he has to do, but he doesn't know what he wants to do, but he's you know he doesn't want to do what he doesn't do.
00:12:59.360 --> 00:13:03.919
He doesn't want to do what he has to do, but he's confused on what's gonna happen.
00:13:04.159 --> 00:13:04.639
Yeah.
00:13:04.960 --> 00:13:10.720
I personally would love to see um what the consequences of you not doing what you're supposed to do.
00:13:11.039 --> 00:13:13.360
I I know some consequences already.
00:13:14.159 --> 00:13:16.399
So and it's happened a few times.
00:13:16.720 --> 00:13:20.879
Like the first time I cured you, I started on fair to do.
00:13:21.200 --> 00:13:23.600
Oh yeah! I forgot about that.
00:13:24.080 --> 00:13:32.799
That was really great because it's actually um he he has a special ability to um get rid of the vampirism.
00:13:33.200 --> 00:13:40.000
Yeah, to temporarily um calm it, I don't know, what the word to take us out of vamp mode.
00:13:40.240 --> 00:13:47.440
Yes, so it takes away all your abilities and your feeding and your hunger, and it puts you back to who you were beforehand.
00:13:47.759 --> 00:13:49.039
Puts us back to square one.
00:13:49.200 --> 00:13:57.279
However, unlike Einar, Oliander is very difficult to hit with this ability.
00:13:57.600 --> 00:14:05.519
And the very first time he tried to cure me, he failed, and then he failed, and then he failed, and I didn't understand.
00:14:05.919 --> 00:14:07.200
I only failed twice.
00:14:08.080 --> 00:14:09.759
But I started on fire too.
00:14:10.000 --> 00:14:21.279
Yeah, he was getting injured, like severely injured, and I'm running towards him trying to help, and he's trying to run away from me and and and ditch me because I'm hurting him essentially.
00:14:21.519 --> 00:14:22.559
And uh yeah, that was good.
00:14:22.720 --> 00:14:23.120
That was crazy.
00:14:23.360 --> 00:14:41.600
That was that was actually um one of uh that was one of Oleander's most traumatizing nights because you never explained to her what was happening, and she has never like in the during the campaign, she had never felt quite so abandoned as um somebody running away from her that she cared about.
00:14:42.080 --> 00:14:42.799
Well, she's gonna be able to do that.
00:14:42.960 --> 00:14:44.320
That is that is very true.
00:14:44.559 --> 00:14:45.039
Yeah.
00:14:45.279 --> 00:14:46.159
She was interesting.
00:14:46.320 --> 00:14:46.559
Yeah.
00:14:46.720 --> 00:14:52.480
Now, um, I got one more thing for you that I want you to repeat after me.
00:14:52.799 --> 00:14:55.279
My I don't know if I want to repeat this afternoon.
00:14:56.240 --> 00:14:58.159
My God.
00:14:58.720 --> 00:15:02.480
No, I'm not saying I know what you're gonna do, and it's not gonna happen.
00:15:02.720 --> 00:15:04.320
She's awful and a hater.
00:15:04.480 --> 00:15:05.279
She's grit.
00:15:06.559 --> 00:15:07.679
She's evil.
00:15:08.240 --> 00:15:09.919
Only because you're undead.
00:15:10.240 --> 00:15:14.159
I may eventually just have to have a vendetta against her.
00:15:14.399 --> 00:15:15.279
Well, that's you.
00:15:15.919 --> 00:15:16.559
That's on you.
00:15:16.720 --> 00:15:17.120
Yeah.
00:15:17.279 --> 00:15:18.240
Well, that might be on.
00:15:20.000 --> 00:15:24.320
Thank you very much, Drewkin, for joining me for a little get to know you.
00:15:24.480 --> 00:15:25.039
You're welcome.
00:15:26.320 --> 00:15:26.960
Bye.
