MENGENAI EPISOD INI
James Everingham is co-founder and CEO of Guild.ai, the agnostic operating system for AI agents, and former VP of Engineering at Meta, where he led developer infrastructure and, earlier, Instagram engineering. Before that he built developer tools at Borland, led browser engineering at Netscape, and was the founding CTO of LiveOps.
James joins Brad Porter, who worked with him at Netscape and Tellme, to talk about why effort is not value, how one engineer's internal agent did what no AI mandate could, why you can manage AI but still have to lead people, and how to fix transparency: start by defining the word.
The conversation ultimately points toward a future where AI changes the tools but not the job of leading: adoption is earned, not mandated, and clarity keeps a team fast. Brad takes it to robots: Cobot put a robot in the field in 20 months and wanted 10,000 operating hours before locking its next design, because nothing replaces what you learn in the field.
