Danny Sellers: Why should you get no Roy? Roy. Roy. Roy. Roy. This is dated, man. This is dated. This is dated a show that investigates love. We are back. We are back. This is this is a very special and interesting episode to Dated. And if you're a constant listener, Data, you would you would hear there's no other voice on on this on today's episode. For for at least the introduction. All right. I gotta explain today's episode. Look. If you were listening last week, you know that me and Torrance went back to our alma mater for homecoming. All right. Now, now the the the plan as we went, as we embarked on North Carolina, Torrance and I, we brought equipment, we were prepared, we had topics to talk about or or record dated on campus. Okay. Now, did we record something on campus? Yes. Are you gonna hear that? A snippet of that on today's episode? Yeah. Yeah, you will. Will I be able to will I be able to give you every minute of what we recorded in North Carolina? Absolutely not. I'm just gonna be honest with you. Me I'm gonna give you this story and then I'm gonna get into the actual topics today so you understand the context when you listen to the snippet that I'm gonna put into the episode, okay? Torrent and I, this might have been Friday night. We get back to the Airbnb one 130, maybe. Okay. And this is a North Carolina 130. So in in North Carolina, 130 means 430 LA New York time. Just nothing going on in North Carolina after midnight. So for us to even be outside that late tells you what kind of time we were on. Okay. So, anyways, we get back to the Airbnb. You know, we the the the Hennessy, the Mescal, the tequila, the Bojangles is flowing in our body. We think we recording episode. Long story short, there's some technical issues that we only had one microphone and we were probably four hours past the social socially acceptable blood alcohol level to even be on a podcast. So anyways, we got some funny bits in there, but Torrance couldn't make it back into LA in time. So I want to give you a little solo dodo episode on top of that little segment that we recorded. So stay, stay around, stick around. I'm gonna put that into the episode at some point. Cause yeah, it's it's it's f it's it's whatever. I don't know if if it's funny, yeah, I think so. But it's insane. but but but moving back to homecoming. If you don't know, me and Torrance went the same college. We're fraternity brothers. We crossed the into that fraternity at the exact same time. So I've known Torrance since I was sh nineteen years old, something like that, something crazy like that. over shit, at this point, damn near fifteen years, give or take almost. And so, so yeah, so so we've known each other a while and going back to to school was really important for us. And you know, w we were there from Thursday till I left Sunday morning, which is today, six AM. So we were there for for three nights. And some I don't re I never realized that some people don't understand what homecoming is across the country. you know, homecoming, especially if you're down south, maybe even Midwest, homecoming is huge. Okay. Especially for black, black people. It's like our little mini family reunion for you know, mm people that went to college. And you know, family reunions are also important too, because you know, the whole slavery thing, whatever, reconnecting people, families, and people that have moving around and stuff, but that's another another pod for another day. But for us, homecoming is super important. And this year was our chapter, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, our fraternity, our fifth year charter anniversary at the school. So Anyways, we go at this point I go back every five years. So, you know, Kyle, well, I talk about a lot on this pod, Torrance, who's usually here with me. I see these dudes, these motherfuckers, you know, every if not once a week, damn near. Okay. But a lot of brothers, for me to go back to homecoming, these are guys that I might only see once every five years. Maybe once every ten years if they skip a year. You know, maybe I'm in town, I go see them for drinks. Some of these brothers live in New York that I saw, you know. Right before I left New York, but it's it's a really a treat to see some of these people that have shaped your life. And I would say the biggest theme for me to go back to homecoming, that helped really reenergize me. Cause I feel like whether it be homecoming or going back home to see family, is is is understanding like how how people that have seen you grow, how that can keep you grounded at the same time. You know? lot of these people that I saw this weekend saw me before I ever picked up a microphone, before I ever edited a reel, before I ever thought about being fun. They saw me as a kid that got recruited out of Jacksonville, Florida to play football in college. This tall, you know, kid who, you know, is maybe maybe was not always the most well versed and cultured person in the room, you know? And these these motherfuckers really embraced me and I think Going back and then them, you know you never you never know how much people are watching until they tell you. Sometimes we be doing this pod, and and I'm sure with y'all listening, it's sometimes in life you're doing things, you're doing the work, you're hustling, you're grinding. You feel like it's for fucking nothing. You feel like nothing is is really moving the needle and you're like, I'm I'm cooked, I'm stuck. You know, I I know I'm doing the work, but is anyone ever gonna give a fuck about the work that I'm doing every single Day, every single week, every single month to try to make things happen, whatever it is. It can be media, it could be a business, your relationship, whatever the fuck it is. And I probably had 10 to 20 of these different conversations about people seeing the work that we're doing on this pod, you know, from reels to our episodes to just funny shit in general. And that was really, really helpful because yeah, you just never have that when you're pursuing a thing. You have a regular job, you know, you get Quarterly bonuses. You get quarterly, you know, reviews or annual reviews or whatever where you get promotions. This shit isn't doesn't always come with promotions. And sometimes in the creative shit, it comes with demotions. You got to take a step back. And so that was that was that was huge. But to highlight some of the moments of this weekend, and I I think me and Torrance are gonna probably try to run it back a full episode sometime this week. So we'll get the full, full recap. but I hosted the step show on Thursday night. So I got in Thursday night. Now, if you don't you aren't familiar with what a step show is, watch that movie Stomp the Yard. Now it's kind of a characterization of it, but more or less black Greek fraternities and sororities dance in in like a formation of sorts. And that's like a step and you know, a step show, whatever. So it was like a performance that I hosted. When you leave, speak about being grounded. The people that I interact with, I love them. They're great. I already missed them. But when you go back to Bum Fuck North Carolina and you live in LA or New York or Miami or whatever, you forget how like conservative the rest of the country actually is. And it just wasn't, it just wasn't like a a rowdy vibe. But but the SEP show was fun. It was cool. I got, you know, a couple dollars and got to be able to tell some jokes. But they wasn't, they wasn't fucking with some of the some of the little heat I was trying to give Cause I was trying to give them heat checks, y'all. I was trying to give them like, you what I'm saying? Let me say something. Outlandish shit. anyway, shout out to Elon. Will I do that ever again? Probably not. I would need a lot more money, a lot more freedom. But I would do it a different school. If a different school would I was like a little I knew it was a little bit more loose and had a little bit more leeway to like, all right, we're gonna have fun tonight, then I would do it. But that I felt like doing comedy in like Santa Monica, like a Santa Monica church almost. It wasn't, you know, it wasn't giving the kind of vibes that I was used to, but it was fine. It was fine and it was it was a good learning experience too, just from like performing and give me an excuse to like be on stage, you know, amongst having the fun and fucking around. But the a a a big thing too, you know, homecomings and especially black people, I'm at that age finally removed from college. I graduated in twenty fourteen that The age, the if you aged well conversation, it's starting to happen now. Like 10, 50, that 10 to 15 year range. Cause you know, you when you younger, when you're younger, you think, five years, they're aging, okay, they're aging good. okay, they're aging, you know, whatever. But when you really hit that 35, 36, 37, that's really the test to be like, all right, you passed, you passed the aging test. Cause you get the look, the your hairline might be gone like mine. Yeah, the grades might be coming a little bit. But you can still look really fire with all that shit. You know what I'm saying? You can you you you you can get your shit. You could you could have gained a little twenty, thirty. But if you still fire, you're fire. And, you know, we saw examples of both. Aging really good, aging really bad. Life's tough though. But we did we we saw examples of both. I'm not gonna I'm not gonna do the yeah, cause those boys and girls wouldn't even I'm not even talking about really I'm Honestly, I'm barely even talking about women in that sense. It was mostly niggas that like, damn, you age kind bad. But you can tell who getting money too. You can tell who's who started getting money a couple years ago because they was on a certain trajectory aging. And it's like, shit, okay. Okay, he went to Turkey. Okay, he he can afford Beijing. Salute. He lost that little, you know what I'm saying? Woody whoop. but yeah, there was some it was some examples. Also some ex This might be a g this might be a perfect time to insert what me and Torrence talked about. Because I wanna really get into homecoming and I think that conversation is gonna be perfectly inserted right here. I'm gonna interview Torrance, I guess. Since you know, we don't want him to talk too much on Mike 'cause of all his affiliations. But it's twenty twenty six Elon University. It's two seventeen in the morning right now, all right? Friday night. If you listen to this, we're live still, hopefully. Okay. We've We outside Okay, for people listening, Torrance, when I I said Torrance, let's record. No, we need to talk about this. The only reason I'm here right now because we need to talk about it as a family. Cause a lot of people I feel like that are love love dated. This is dated, by the way. A show that investigates love. And we've traveled far and wide to the state of North Carolina. We've eaten Bojangles, we've eaten we've drinking Hennessy. We've we've had I walked across a highway with no real crosswalk to get a coffee today over a burn. They don't have burns in Brooklyn, New York. But I I walked across one today in in s in Birkinstocks. And so anyways we we traveled far for our t thirty fifth chapter anniversary for our our fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated. And so I brought all this equipment that you're listening to right now. Cross country. And you know, and sometimes perfection is something that we all strive for, but we all sometimes can fall short of. And someone as as a perfect person, yeah, guys, I fell short and I forgot one thing for us to record this podcast. That was the the tripod that you're looking at me. Use right now. And so I asked Torrance, Hey Torrence, you mind just giving getting us something? And we won't get into the details, but let's just talk You should get you should get into the details. The reason you should get into the details is because people need to know what you wanted from me. I wanted Torres to show up for this relationship. I want to torture the show off this relationship for me. I'm gonna slight the piss out of this nigga. I'm sick of him. I don't know why y'all listen to this because he's it's two nineteen in the morning right now, okay, friend. So thirsty. So thirsty. It's two nineteen in the morning right now. Torrance is still drinking alcohol. That's concerning to everybody. So we should have stopped. That's cause I ain't no bitch. No, we should have stopped doing that a long time ago. We should have done that. so anyway, this is Elon. We all he's nervous now. We went to Elon University, Tar Torrance and I. It's two it's two twenty in the morning. I hope I know, but I want people to understand that if they get the snippet of this, I want them to know that, hey friends, we're just trying to we're trying to do our best. We try and make it, we try and give you what you came here for. Which is a great episode. Which is a great episode. I think I I think at least one of our microphones are fucked. Yeah. So we're just passing the mic. So look out all right. This is Elon, this is homecoming for us. And one f joke and thing that I thought about tonight is that when you go to like a homecoming, people that go to homecomings. You realize there's generations of that nigga and you see all at once. You know like that Spider Man movie that came out last year? And it was like different Toby McGuire, fucking Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland, and they all in the same movie. Yeah. That's homecoming. Yeah. Cause each iteration. Yeah. Each each iteration. You see Every every about five to seven years, it's the same niggas. It's at least somebody that reminds you of yourself or somebody else that was in the same era that you were in. And that's where we're at now with it. And I'm like, okay, that damn, he's the ninety five version of that nigga. Yeah. He's the twenty twenty-four version of that nigga. And congratulations, actually. I like that. It's kind of like a lineal inboxing through a lineal title. I'm the lineal heavyweight chip. I'm the guy to be the guy. You know, you're the guy that that was that nigga kinda. Yeah, little bit. Congratulations. And I and now I'm becoming unc that guy. That's terrifying a little bit. But it's not. I think you're old. I am old. And when Danny gets drunk, he starts to preach. And his preaching can carry on for a very, very, very long time. So long, in fact, that he doesn't know when to shut the fuck up. And it's concerning to everybody involved here. And we want him to know this. And I that's why I wanted to say this. This is actually why I think it's important that we're doing this tonight, because everyone's uninhibited right now. We can say what we want to say. What does that mean? I'm trying to figure out what that means as like a from a community standpoint. Because I feel like all I try to do is help the black youth in this country. And yeah, did I come to did I come that to homecoming to just yeah, be like a voice a voice of reason? Absolutely. Absolutely. Do I need to get all of my thoughts out? Let me tell you something, friends. Any anytime there's been a microphone in front of all of us at this homecoming, we had we've had reunions, we had different dinners. I wanted to speak at every single one of these things. That's ego. That's what that is. I want to make sure that everyone knows that that is just ego. He could he was itching. He was like, yo, just don't y'all want to ask me a question? All right, but also at the same time, if you're gonna go, if you're gonna be in in in the step show. I hope, yeah. So all right, so for this. Yo, he hosted the step show and that shit was fucking insane. I wish, I can't wait. I hope that we are able to cut up some of the shit that you said. I hope you rewatch it. The first thing he said was when he walked on the stage, and they the directive they gave him, do not cuss. He walked out to them said, What's up, motherfuckers? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That was what he said to them. I don't remember that. As a as a black community, I want y'all understand that I don't remember that part of it. Okay. Did I miss sound check? Absolutely. Okay. Did we have a a plethora of direction? No. Now, did could should I have cussed? Who, you know, that's up for you. For you to decide as the viewing audience. But yes. And did we have proof of that? I cussed. We'll see. Yes. Okay, we'll see. Different coordinates. I think everybody needed that. That kind of energy. They told me that I saw your friends. Look, if we go on stage. And I guess I cut. I said up top said motherfuckers. Well, you know, hey, you know, is you if you're watching this, could I have said that? Yeah. I do my little thing, I do my little shout outs, woot do woody, woo-doo, woo. Get off stage. Step shows like you host it, students go up, dance, do the thing, and then it's like a talent show, more or less. So I get off stage after doing my intro, introducing the first act, the young lady, great young lady who's throwing the show. Hey, you cannot cuss. And I said, my fault, fam. Now, now the the key part of this point is that Torrance and people that are also behind this camera have told me. People told me essentially that after that conversation, unbeknownst to them I had the conversation, that I continue to cuss. He continued to cuss. He continued to say things that the audience I I don't know, I don't know how to say this. The audience there was a moment where the audience literally went, like in worry from the things that he was saying at the step show. I told you, I say, Hey y'all, we gotta vote soon. And then yeah, did I say certain things about certain organizations? Yes. That was another thing. He also said very inappropriate things about things other organizations. And he did it he didn't pull any punches. He maybe you actually pulled punches. I will say he probably pulled some punches. I pulled a bunch of punches. I know. And that's actually the problem that he should have pulled more. He came out there swinging. Very hard at a function that he shouldn't. One thing I want to say is this. All right. So if you're not familiar with Greek life, Greek is like, you know, whatever. Greek life, s fraternity, sorority life. It's like communal. It's it's like people are proud. So I did a roll call of all the black Greek organizations. There's nine of them historically black. All right. Go down the list. There's a particular group that do I like do I like making fun of on a consistent basis? Yeah. And did he make fun of them twice? Well I don't remember I remember the second. yeah, you did it twice. You did it twice. You said did you you ca I I I what ended up happening was you said did you call did you answer yourself on your call? Did you call it yourself? And you said it twice. Okay, let me finish that. So the young man, if you're not familiar with Greek life, you call you roll call and you call out your chant. All right. we were we were super deep in the function. So my my my friends, my team, Alpha Phi Alpha, allowed roars. Go down the list. Now this one chap this one fraternity, Sigma's. Why would you say that? Why would you say no, why but why you didn't have to say them? There were so many. It helps the story. It helps the story. I get to the sigmas. I said I said, Is there any sigmas in the house? Man the man does the little his blue blue shit. Cool. Now he does a chant usually Usually. You say is corresponse. So usually you say and then another person said. Situation. So what ended up happening was so what ended up happening was he they were sitting close to each other. It was just it was two it was two people. It was just two of So he asked, he he called him out, they said they thing, and then the other person did respond. It was called in response, but because they were so close, they and you were on stage. Okay, so yeah, once again from my perspective, he says boom boom boom boom. I wait for the response. And then somebody I hear another voice. Now I'm thinking the nigga responded to himself. No, he he thought it and then he said it. That's actually the problem. It's not the fact that it's not the fact that he thought it. It's the fact that he fucking said it to everybody in the room. God. And then he said it two times. He didn't tell people what he said. He said, did you just you just responded to yourself? That was just you? Like, could you imagine like you trying to take pride in your organization? And then somebody clap That's you. That's you. That was you. Anyways, one of the highlights of this weekend hosting this far. this maybe hopefully the a clip of this I'll be able to use in the episode, but We're homecoming. Sorry, friends. We're trying to for the lighting's probably shitty. This is weird. This is hopefully a little snippet of the weekend. But thank y'all so much for watching David and watching this little snippet of us in homecoming. Two thirty in the morning. Torrance has been drinking all night. I'm sober. I have been, but he sounds like he's been drinking all night. That's the difference. This is me, this is my emotional voice. You ever been emotional? Just offer this off some brotherhood shit. And you like theme of life, my re talking about your thing about your relationship, you talk about people you love, you think about people that you care about, you miss. It's like I that's what I really want to be spending my attention to, not talking about. And that's the alcohol. That's alcohol. You talking about being emotional, that nigga. Y'all y'all seen a nigga be you you see that nigga have emotions on the pub before? No, that's the alcohol. He talked the shit. If I look drunk right now, tell me in the chat. Cause I just feel like as a man, I don't feel like me personally, I would first of all whatever drinks. Second of all, not this lake. And I think I just think I know, no, it's funny. I mean, it's funny because people people are laughing here that are sitting here with us. I think people are kind of a little bit concerned about Torrance's. general well being as a man in your drinking problem. And that's what we'll talk about. Who do you wanna who all right, what's people that that have been at Elon were for homecoming. Where's old girl at, by the way? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean it's a real. Thank you everybody for listening to the podcast. Thank you so much for your time. Bless you all. I want to shoot Danny now. You can't say that on here, but I think from a general we're done. We're done. You're gonna piss me off. Danny, we're done. It's 20 minutes. We are done. We're done. Can you leave? Okay. Okay. I'm done. I'm gonna just talk to him. No, I'm gonna kill you. Hey guys. Look. Yeah. Yeah. Hey guys, look, this has been hard for on all of us. We're a lot of us making we're making a lot of difficult decisions in our life right now. We're far from home. And I just feel like my biggest concern for Torrance. Stop. Enough. That was crazy. Okay, and I'm sorry. I'm sorry for I'm sorry for being as cooked as we as we were. You can see my my chains untucked. My y my eyes are I don't even know if it's yellow, but they're like like pink red. We were cooked. We were really cooked. You can probably you can hear Carl in the our our boy Carl in the back laughing at us, but it's ridiculous. but on a serious note too, get to get into s some relationship shit about homecoming that's eye opening and the importance of going back. you know, I talked about being married and divorced on this pod, and a lot of times I think we forget that we sometimes like suffer in silence a little bit about certain things. Life goes on, right? We have these friends that we have foundational memories with and family members and people in our community, and we forget how strong our circle and how many people actually care about us. Once again, me not realizing people outside of me are Or outside of my my v everyday view, see me and then maybe are thinking about me and wishing me well even. We get so caught up in like, I got so many haters, I got niggas, you know, on my dick. But people do really care about us. And through a lot of my conversations this week, ha you know, having not caught up with some of these friends of mine as of late, I also learned that a lot of them have gone through divorces and re been remarried and, you know, have new kids are in the middle, some of them some of them are in the middle of it. Some of are are are a few years past and have already moved on to their their next situation. But it was kind of eye opening to me. I'm like, man, when I'm going through shit, I can't always just figure it out myself. I shouldn't, I really shouldn't. You know, of course there's there's like a a a a cooling off period of like, let me assess how I feel about the situation, right? What's happening to me. But there there was a few different conversations where I'm like, damn, I had no idea. And honestly, I could have probably probably used a couple of Sunday afternoon phone calls with my man to just talk about what we were going through. Cause it's tough. It's tough. And I'm sure there's been times where they could have used someone else to talk to w about it too. And so that was really eye-opening. Like, damn, we're really all kind of going through the same shit. And it's definitely mid thirties is like that second that second marriage era where like I'm going, I'm I'm okay to be invited to my man's second wedding. And it better be way f it would better be fly. I'll put up to the second wedding. The second wedding might be more of a slap too, really. Or like either the second wedding or the old nigga wedding. You got them aunts and uncles who've been together for, you know, twenty five years. Or your uncle, me, my dad got married late too. But then the old head niggas who didn't didn't get married today was like forty eight. But they just got bread, they chillin', they know what they doing. That's you know, the the bride wears a a cream dress instead of a white dress, you know what I'm saying? Them them kind of vibes. Okay, yeah, okay, auntie, I see you do your thing. We do it. I'll pull up to that easy. Easy. You know. But shout out to the shout out to the the people that are going through life because I done had some conversation this week. I'm like, damn, I I had no idea. I had no idea. And I'm I'm I maybe, if anything, this trip helped me understand like, yo, you gotta like reach back out to people and just check in on motherfuckers, because sometimes selfishly that check in might be helpful or just as helpful for you as it is for them. and going back to the keeping keeping myself grounded thing, having so many conversations with friends, teammates of mine, fraternity brothers of mine, like you're doing your thing, you're doing your thing. You know, people asking me, Am I doing comedy full time? I mean, everybody that I talked to thought I was doing comedy full time, which, you know, I'm not. I I produce I produce podcasts for my day job. And I d you know, I produce big podcasts, so I'm I'm proud of it. I produce big names and I'm proud of it. But One thing that I I walking away from this weekend, you live in LA, you live in New York, you live in these big cities, you you go to the Mecca of whatever you're trying to study or or be a part of. You go to San Francisco for tech, you go to Paris for fashion, London for fashion, you know, art, whatever. You forget that you're amongst the elite elite. You're already that one percent damn near by just being in those circles. And so when you feel like, damn, I'm in the bottom half of the city of as far as clout or performance or even money. You forget the nigga, you're you're in the the bottom half of the fucking that nine that one that ninety nine percentile. You know, you're there you're there. You're you're you're one or two degrees the separational decisions from being in the shits. And you know, it was that to me was really eye opening. Like, damn, bro, like I don't really I don't realize how close I am. I did not realize how close I am until some of these conversations and people were like, bruh, to see your growth and where you've come from, how could I ever how could I not expect or assume that you're already doing all this shit? You already damn near doing it. You're close. You're you're so close. So that that was super, super helpful. And I really appreciate all the kind words from all my friends, former teammates, you know what I'm saying? That that really spoke into me and poured into me. That that's the kind of shit that's gonna keep Me going, I'm sure it's gonna keep Torrance going. He's gotten a lot of feedback from friends and and fraternity brothers and shit. And that means the world to me. I know I told you in person, but I want to make sure y'all understand, like on wax, that that that meant a lot to me this this past weekend for sure. But the the the nostalgia of of going back to homecoming was so cool because the music, there wasn't a lot of like new, new songs being played because we weren't really, we were kind of separated from the young crowd. So it was so much old Drake, old future. I heard the Roy at least 85 times. I've never I've never heard Roy other than a North Carolina party, and I felt like I'm back in sophomore year. That shit was amazing. But even that that feeling, that fall feeling of music being back, I feel it. Like I'm I'm excited for like hoodie weather, I'm excited, you what I'm saying? Is RB, new RB slaps, is shit coming. Like, Yeah, this this is new new music coming out. Is is is snow allegro drops and shit. who else drops some shit? Joyce Rice Joyce Rice drops some shit. A lot of new R and B slaps. Gunnar's got some something coming out. So it's just a lot of heat that's on the way that I feel like that that Q four, that last little couple months of like, what's what's the what's the Thanksgiving road trip slap? What's the Christmas road trip slap? What's the fall break road trip slap? I think all those those Those pieces of music are like coming. And I'm excited about it because, bruh, there's nothing like a little, it's cold, you know what I'm saying? We're not really doing shit this weekend. Stuff's kind of canceled, and you got some slaps to play on like a nice little road, last-minute road trip or something, or like a little staycation, or just around the house. I love it. Not being in New York during the holidays, it's gonna be weird again, cause I feel like that that that little like fall winter. Playlist hits a little bit more when it's cold outside. When it's, you know, when it's when it's snow. When it's when you know, you really gotta be inside, you know, with the heat hot, you know. but yeah, I'm excited for some of the new music. But the Roy, I heard the Roy 48 times. All right. Speaking of fall, I wanna get into the the body of today's pod. niggas in new relationships, football season is cooked. All right. I have not watched I don't think I've watched. One full game in this football season, like start maybe, maybe one or two. Cause like when you when you when you grandfathered into a relationship, you know, you can you can all right, look, Saturday's my day. I need I need the the first half of of Sunday. I need the back half of Saturday. Cause I'm watching this game. This is the game that I need to watch. Okay. But when you know I'm I'm out the streets, I'm, you what I'm saying? I got my little yammy, I'm chilling. Well, I'm not really chilling. I'm living life. We enjoying shit. We outside, we're doing the thing. We do going on dates. We're doing fucking brunch and shit. You know, so I'm missing a lot of the games. I'm like, damn, who won? Who the fuck? Who but and you know, you know, it also is too. I'm not doing fantasy football this year, too. So I'm missing a lot of like, I'm just watching from the first quarter to the fourth quarter. I'm catching like the first and second quarter, or half of the third and the fourth, but I'm not just like getting a beer and watching the full game. I'm not grandfathered in yet, which is fine. It's fine. It's great. It's cool. But I'm not grandfathered in. I'm not grandfathered in to like, yeah, I'm gonna to take Saturday off until 4 30 local time. No, I can't I can't get it off. But toxic take this week, though, toxic take this week. If you bring your partner to your s homecoming, you're one of God's strongest soldiers. If you br if you bring your your fiance, husband, wife, partner to your homecoming, you're one of God's strongest soldiers. And if you go to your partner's homecoming, you're one of God's strongest soldiers. I would never unless I just got a bunch of kids and and mommy's getting an award. I'm not going to your homecoming, baby girl. I'll I'll see you when I see you. Have fun with your friends. I'm not because the the the The first second some old big tall nigga that looks like me in a different universe looks at you weird, I'ma fucking crash out. Some alternate universe Danny from your fucking alma mater looks at me, looks at you, looks at the kid, looks at me, looks at you. I'm gonna have a conversation with God and you and my son and ask him, are you mine? I'm not that strong. Power to y'all, but I'm not that strong. it was a lot of that this week. I'm like, man, really? 'Cause it's one thing if you go to the same school. Or you went to the same school, 'cause you already know where all the the skeletons, you know, the bodies are buried, it's fine. But you, you know what I'm saying? You from Connecticut and we down in North Carolina, you from California and we down here in Texas. Don't come. Cause what you don't know nobody. I it's not you're not gonna get a business deal from comp no. All you want to do is have an awkward plane ride, a car ride back. Like, who was who was that, that other tall, six, three tall nigga that played football that was looking at you and my son in the fucking face? What the fuck was that about? Anyways, this has been a good this has been a great short fun pod. I wanted to make sure I talked to y'all, let y'all know this was an amazing weekend. My voice is definitely a couple octaves lower because it's I've been screaming, drinking Hennessy and Mezcal and eating Bojangles all weekend. I'm exhausted. I miss my fucking bed. But we'll be back back probably if not later this week. we'll be back on Monday. Torrance and I give a full recap about homecoming, our travels. Torrance and I got in a couple really serious fights. And that's also why he's not here today. We I need to just cool off the relationship because he's kind of we're in a weird spot right now. No, I'm kidding. But Love y'all so much. Enjoy each other. If you don't take anyway anything away from this pod, call your friends, text your friends. And also, you know, I'm gonna challenge myself to do this too. After you see friends, follow up on that text, the individual text. Cause sometimes too you get those like drunk. Hey, man, hit me up, hit me up, hit me up. But you don't really follow up on it. So I really challenge all of us when you see people check in on them, man. 'Cause it's Shit's heavy. And even if it's not heavy, but you just need a outlet to talk to, I I really want to challenge myself to be better than that because I know what I go through. And I sometimes I feel like what my issues and my problems are unique to me and they're really not. Most of us are all going through the same shit. It's a different flavor or at a different time. And we just have different ways to talk about it. I have my art to kind of talk about some of my struggles. So people kinda know what I'm going through for the most part. But even still, some people that I that some of my fraternity brothers thought I was still married. And I've been single for almost four years. So Reach out to people, be intentional and value consistency. I think this week it also reminded me that like some of the people that I saw are so consistent in who they are, and some people that I didn't see are consistent in who they are. And both things are equally as telling. So, anyways, love y'all so much. It's a short pod, solo pod. Torrance will be back next week, and we'll see you next time. Peace.
