MENGENAI EPISOD INI
Marie opens this episode fresh off the final call of the first-ever Moxie Mastermind cohort — and she is FEELING it. The women were in tears. Every single one named the Moxie group as one of the greatest sources of positive feeling in their last six months. And almost all of them are coming back for round two in September.
From that high, she dives into something she's been coaching heavily lately — a shift that her clients keep describing as total freedom: learning to need nothing in the way of external validation, while giving everything in the way of it.
This one's a game changer.
What you'll learn in this episode:
- Why needing external validation is one of the biggest things standing between you and making your idea real — and why the people who love you most still can't give you what you need
- The story of Marie leaving her career to start over, feeling sheepish sharing her vision, and why she had to believe in the "after" before anyone else could see it
- Why chasing external validation is chasing the dragon — it will never be enough, it will rob you of your authenticity, and it will pull you off your own internal compass
- The three things you actually have control over (hint: it's not what other people think of you) and why handing that power to someone else is the opposite of Moxie
- What a vulnerability hangover is, how to be with the feeling instead of running from it, and why embracing your "too-muchness" makes it lose its power
- Real client stories: the woman who stopped asking her partner if he was mad at her, the one who stopped checking in with her boss at the end of every day, the one who stopped fawning over her chaotic family — and what changed for all of them
- Why Marie doesn't believe in feeling neutral about positive feedback — receive it, soak it up, let it feel great — and what to do with negative feedback instead
- The two-part process: never need validation because you give it to yourself first — and always give it freely in the form of gratitude, appreciation, and presence
- Why that combination — needing nothing, giving everything — creates an ecosystem where nobody else controls how you feel, and your momentum becomes inevitable

00:00:08.480 --> 00:00:15.679
Welcome to the Bloom Your Mind Podcast, where we take all of your ideas for what you want and we turn them into real things.
00:00:15.839 --> 00:00:18.879
I'm your host, certified coach Marie McDonald.
00:00:18.960 --> 00:00:20.320
Let's get into it.
00:00:27.679 --> 00:00:35.280
Well, hello everybody, and welcome to episode number 182 of the Bloom Your Mind Podcast.
00:00:35.679 --> 00:00:38.000
So much fun stuff is happening in my world.
00:00:38.240 --> 00:00:43.520
Oh my gosh, I finished the first round of the Moxie today.
00:00:43.920 --> 00:00:44.799
So exciting.
00:00:44.880 --> 00:00:49.119
We are staying in touch for all of August, which I take off, which I'm going to talk about in just a minute.
00:00:49.280 --> 00:00:56.960
But we had our last call today, and the women were in tears, and every single woman, when they answered, they did a reflection on the last six months.
00:00:57.119 --> 00:01:02.640
And we said, What types of things, people, places gave you positive feelings this last six months?
00:01:02.799 --> 00:01:06.560
It was one of, like, you know, my whole series of questions.
00:01:06.719 --> 00:01:20.640
We spent a few weeks reflecting, and every person said, the Moxie girls, this room, looking forward to Wednesdays, being in this group, changed me so much, had a profound effect on my life, and was the thing that gave me positive feelings.
00:01:20.799 --> 00:01:22.159
It's changed who I am.
00:01:22.400 --> 00:01:25.840
And all of them are coming back in some way or another.
00:01:26.079 --> 00:01:31.760
Uh most of them are coming back to the next round and staying in it because everyone is just having such a blast.
00:01:31.840 --> 00:01:33.280
And it was really wonderful.
00:01:33.519 --> 00:01:35.280
So we are wrapping that up.
00:01:35.359 --> 00:01:38.480
We wrapped it up today, and the next one is starting in September.
00:01:38.640 --> 00:01:40.239
The room is almost full.
00:01:40.400 --> 00:01:42.000
Um, we have a couple spots left.
00:01:42.079 --> 00:01:47.439
So if you want to come into the Moxie, go to do thebloom.com and fill out your application right now.
00:01:47.599 --> 00:01:48.799
Grab your spot.
00:01:48.959 --> 00:01:55.040
Um, that crew of women is amazing, and we've got a ton of amazing new stuff coming.
00:01:55.359 --> 00:01:59.599
So, new iterations, new amazing things as part of everything that I do.
00:01:59.680 --> 00:02:06.400
We do retros, which is one of the things the Moxie women loved so much and said they were all incorporating into every element of their life.
00:02:06.640 --> 00:02:13.360
And so I always take the feedback from the favorite things, the things that could change, and I incorporate those changes.
00:02:13.599 --> 00:02:14.960
It's gonna be amazing.
00:02:15.120 --> 00:02:16.400
And so that's happening.
00:02:16.560 --> 00:02:34.879
I also had a meeting this morning to kick off this little crew that's building a team of AI companions for me to help me with my work, with organizing my email and all the things, building a team of uh, I'm calling them the Moxie bots, an AI team, to help me organize myself.
00:02:35.039 --> 00:02:54.319
So that is so fun, and also building something called the Pocket Moxie, which is gonna be an AI app or an AI bot that supports my Moxie ladies so that they can uh get access to, you know, the the encyclopedia or this library of every single bit of my work.
00:02:54.479 --> 00:03:08.639
They'll have a little access point in their pocket all the time that knows me and can support them to help elevate their work all the time, like a little library, like a little me in their pocket, even though they all have access to me.
00:03:08.879 --> 00:03:10.479
Anyways, that's so fun.
00:03:10.560 --> 00:03:13.280
And I'm also wrapping up my work year here.
00:03:13.439 --> 00:03:15.360
I always take August off.
00:03:16.080 --> 00:03:32.719
I just that was one of the things when I designed my loo life, when I left my burnout cycle six years ago in the company I was leading, and I said, I'm gonna work half as much, earn at least twice as much, and love, do what I most love to do 95% of the time.
00:03:32.800 --> 00:03:33.840
And that's what I created.
00:03:34.000 --> 00:03:34.560
It's amazing.
00:03:34.719 --> 00:03:38.719
And I also said I want to take August off because I don't want to miss my children's childhood.
00:03:38.879 --> 00:03:39.840
I want to take it off.
00:03:40.000 --> 00:03:41.120
And that's what I do.
00:03:41.280 --> 00:03:43.759
And people, whenever they hear it, they say, What?
00:03:43.919 --> 00:03:44.960
How is that even possible?
00:03:45.120 --> 00:03:47.520
It's possible because I designed my whole life around it.
00:03:47.599 --> 00:03:51.599
I designed my whole business around it, and nobody blinks an eye.
00:03:51.759 --> 00:03:53.280
Everybody's like, great, no problem.
00:03:53.520 --> 00:03:55.120
So I'm off in August.
00:03:55.280 --> 00:04:00.560
It's gonna be so fun taking my kids on our annual road trip and doing all kinds of other wonderful things.
00:04:00.719 --> 00:04:10.400
Going to Hell's Kitchen, the Alicia Keys uh musical, and doing the cast party for that, and uh celebrating my son's birthday.
00:04:10.479 --> 00:04:11.439
It's gonna be wonderful.
00:04:11.599 --> 00:04:17.439
Doing some downtime, some paintings at home, and watching the garden continue to bloom.
00:04:17.839 --> 00:04:20.160
Figuratively and literally.
00:04:20.800 --> 00:04:30.959
Okay, so today we are talking about how to need nothing and give everything, not in a toxic way, but in the form of validation.
00:04:31.279 --> 00:04:40.079
I have been doing a lot of coaching on this, having a lot of my clients kind of working on this and saying that they just feel total freedom in making this shift.
00:04:40.319 --> 00:04:41.120
So, what do I mean?
00:04:41.199 --> 00:04:48.959
Well, often what I see stopping people from making their ideas into a real thing is the need for external validation along the way.
00:04:49.199 --> 00:05:01.519
Validation that they're on the right track, that their idea is good, that they did a good job pitching their idea, that they look great, that they all different reasons.
00:05:01.680 --> 00:05:05.279
They don't we cannot have constant positive feedback.
00:05:05.439 --> 00:05:08.959
We cannot have constant validation.
00:05:09.279 --> 00:05:12.560
And even if we can have that, it's not good for us.
00:05:12.639 --> 00:05:13.920
So I'm gonna tell you why.
00:05:14.079 --> 00:05:21.360
So there's a lot of reasons why it's important for us to focus on not needing validation to come externally, not needing it, right?
00:05:21.439 --> 00:05:24.000
We can enjoy it, but not needing it.
00:05:24.240 --> 00:05:39.439
And I'm gonna give you a bunch of those reasons, and I'm gonna give you a process that you can use where you can need nothing to be well, to keep working, to stay in action, to stay motivated, need no external validation, need nothing.
00:05:39.839 --> 00:05:46.079
Enjoy it when it comes, but don't need it, and give everything only in regards to validation.
00:05:46.160 --> 00:05:50.480
And I'll tell you why that is total freedom.
00:05:50.639 --> 00:06:02.959
It allows you to accomplish anything that you want to accomplish because we are using the beautiful tool of our brilliant brains instead of the variable circumstantial external world.
00:06:03.040 --> 00:06:22.639
Because circumstances do not need to define our lives, our realities, and we are free when we stop the practice of looking to the circumstances around us to determine how we feel, how we act, how we think, how we perceive, how we behave, how we decide things.
00:06:22.879 --> 00:06:35.519
When we stop depending on circumstances around us to determine that, our reality becomes a moldable, bendable things where our efforts and our reality escalates quickly in our favor.
00:06:36.240 --> 00:06:37.839
I've seen it time and time again.
00:06:38.000 --> 00:06:39.519
Okay, here are the reasons.
00:06:39.600 --> 00:06:48.000
I'm gonna first create an argument for why this is an absolute game changer for you to stop looking for external validation.
00:06:48.160 --> 00:07:05.759
The first reason, reason number one, is because when our idea is in our head, whatever the thing is working that we're working on, whether that's changing our physical body, whether that is creating a business that doesn't exist yet, going, uh changing cities and creating a whole new reality.
00:07:05.920 --> 00:07:09.360
And I'll give you the example of when I went and changed my careers.
00:07:09.439 --> 00:07:10.399
I've talked about this before.
00:07:10.480 --> 00:07:12.000
I had a whole vision in my head.
00:07:12.160 --> 00:07:17.759
I'm gonna run retreats, I'm gonna have a podcast, I'm gonna teach online classes about what I'm passionate about.
00:07:17.920 --> 00:07:32.240
I am gonna coach female leaders, I'm gonna change the world by helping us all find our moxie, by changing, sort of transmuting the pain that I have lived through, the trauma that I have lived through into healing for myself, the world, and everybody whose lives I touch.
00:07:32.319 --> 00:07:37.040
I'm gonna write books, they're gonna be bestsellers, I'm gonna serve thousands of people.
00:07:37.360 --> 00:07:39.839
I shared some of these ideas.
00:07:40.480 --> 00:07:42.959
And I remember I felt sheepish.
00:07:43.120 --> 00:07:44.319
It felt ridiculous.
00:07:44.480 --> 00:07:48.480
I got some looks because the idea wasn't real yet.
00:07:48.720 --> 00:07:57.759
And the reality that I was in was so far away from that idea that people were like, okay, great, you're gonna do all that.
00:07:58.000 --> 00:08:03.600
And I mean, these are people that really believe in me too, but they still were like, okay, all right.
00:08:04.240 --> 00:08:08.240
I cannot, I could not depend on their belief in me.
00:08:08.319 --> 00:08:17.040
I had to believe in myself, in my vision enough that it was more powerful than the reality I was in right then.
00:08:17.120 --> 00:08:19.279
I call that believing in the after until it's real.
00:08:19.439 --> 00:08:20.319
And you know what happened?
00:08:20.399 --> 00:08:21.279
It worked.
00:08:21.600 --> 00:08:24.000
The best-selling book, that's that's next.
00:08:24.079 --> 00:08:26.160
I'm gonna write that next in 2027.
00:08:26.639 --> 00:08:28.800
I uh am excited about that.
00:08:28.959 --> 00:08:34.960
And I have served hundreds of people, not thousands yet, but that is just in progress.
00:08:35.279 --> 00:08:37.120
That is uh, what do we call it?
00:08:37.279 --> 00:08:37.919
Inevitable.
00:08:38.000 --> 00:08:39.120
That's the word I'm looking for.
00:08:39.279 --> 00:08:40.559
It is on its way.
00:08:40.799 --> 00:08:44.000
So these things, everything else that I said exists.
00:08:44.639 --> 00:08:47.679
And I had also told people I'm gonna love what I do all the time, every day.
00:08:47.759 --> 00:08:49.039
I'm gonna work long days.
00:08:49.200 --> 00:08:52.799
On the days when I work a long day, I'm gonna feel super energized and fulfilled.
00:08:53.039 --> 00:08:56.080
That is my reality every single day.
00:08:56.320 --> 00:09:02.080
So you can't depend on other people to validate your idea, your effort, your vision, because they won't.
00:09:02.240 --> 00:09:03.919
They can't, they can't see it.
00:09:04.080 --> 00:09:06.480
It's in your head, it doesn't exist yet.
00:09:06.720 --> 00:09:12.799
They can't be inspired by it unless you're in a super inspirational mode and you're sharing it with them, then they can.
00:09:12.960 --> 00:09:17.440
But you still cannot depend on them being inspired to keep you going.
00:09:17.840 --> 00:09:19.519
You got to create that inside yourself.
00:09:19.679 --> 00:09:25.759
Now, the second reason is because when we are uh chasing external validation, we're chasing the dragon.
00:09:25.919 --> 00:09:27.840
It will never end.
00:09:28.639 --> 00:09:34.399
We are chasing our tail in circles, like a little dog running in circles, barking at its own tail.
00:09:34.559 --> 00:09:36.080
We're stuck in a loop.
00:09:36.399 --> 00:09:39.279
We are going to need more and more and more of it.
00:09:39.360 --> 00:09:42.559
We become dependent on external validation to keep going.
00:09:42.879 --> 00:09:51.440
It's gonna rob us of our authenticity because we're chasing, we're gonna be acting in ways to receive validation instead of just being real.
00:09:51.919 --> 00:10:01.759
It's gonna rob us of our ability to make decisions clearly based on our values and our own internal compass because we'll make decisions based on external validation as the priority.
00:10:01.919 --> 00:10:02.559
Ew, right?
00:10:02.720 --> 00:10:03.759
We don't want that.
00:10:04.080 --> 00:10:12.720
We don't have control over that variable of whether people like or don't like, appreciate or don't appreciate what we're working on.
00:10:12.879 --> 00:10:19.759
So we're gonna chase that dragon, become dependent on it, and it's gonna influence and impede our progress in many areas.
00:10:20.000 --> 00:10:22.960
Third, we're giving our power away.
00:10:23.519 --> 00:10:27.200
When we create our own validation, it's within our control.
00:10:27.360 --> 00:10:30.559
We can pull it up anytime we want, we can create it.
00:10:30.960 --> 00:10:41.840
We only have control over what we focus on with our thoughts and our brain, our perspective on things, our energy, meaning how we feel, and our action, the action that we take.
00:10:42.240 --> 00:10:43.759
That's all we have control over.
00:10:44.480 --> 00:11:01.039
So when we are depending on someone else and something else and others around us to determine our focus, our belief in ourselves, our perception, our I'm on track, our motivation, all of that, our focus and our energy, which then determine how we act, right?
00:11:01.120 --> 00:11:05.840
If we are only gonna keep going if other people like what we do, we have no control.
00:11:06.000 --> 00:11:06.879
We have no power.
00:11:08.480 --> 00:11:08.720
Right?
00:11:08.799 --> 00:11:10.159
So we don't want to give our power away.
00:11:10.240 --> 00:11:11.039
Who wants to do that?
00:11:11.679 --> 00:11:13.759
Again, ew, we're not gonna do that.
00:11:15.519 --> 00:11:20.720
So creating our own internal validation gives us all our power.
00:11:21.440 --> 00:11:26.480
And lastly, it's our moxie, baby, embracing all the parts of us we thought we had to hide.
00:11:26.720 --> 00:11:29.120
We don't need validation, we're gonna give it to ourselves.
00:11:29.200 --> 00:11:32.799
We don't have to hide anything because we don't need people to like us or not like us.
00:11:33.039 --> 00:11:42.639
It means being hell of non-codependent, creating our own safety, our own motivation, our own validation.
00:11:42.960 --> 00:11:52.960
And it allows us to trust ourselves, which is the thing that creates success in people's lives when we follow through every time on our own di ideas and on what we committed to.
00:11:54.320 --> 00:12:03.840
So if I feel the need to seek something from somebody else, some validation from somebody else, every single time, my job is to give it to my self instead.
00:12:04.080 --> 00:12:11.600
If you need your partner, your romantic partner, to tell you you're beautiful in order to feel beautiful, that's codependence.
00:12:12.320 --> 00:12:18.000
If you need validation from a boss or a coworker, that's gonna create overwork and burnout.
00:12:19.039 --> 00:12:22.240
You're never gonna be able to just stand on your own two feet.
00:12:22.399 --> 00:12:24.480
That's the opposite of leadership, right?
00:12:24.879 --> 00:12:31.759
If we're out in a social situation, let's look at this one, and we need validation on how what we said, because we're like, oh, did I say something weird?
00:12:31.840 --> 00:12:32.639
Did I talk too much?
00:12:32.720 --> 00:12:33.840
Did I take up too much space?
00:12:34.000 --> 00:12:34.960
Was I too wild?
00:12:35.200 --> 00:12:36.480
Was I not wild enough?
00:12:36.639 --> 00:12:38.559
Was I not charismatic enough?
00:12:38.879 --> 00:12:39.919
Was I too weird?
00:12:40.080 --> 00:12:40.639
Whatever.
00:12:40.879 --> 00:12:43.600
We gotta give it to ourselves instead.
00:12:43.840 --> 00:12:49.679
Because if we're always waiting for someone to reach back out and say, you weren't weird, it's never gonna happen.
00:12:49.840 --> 00:12:52.720
And we're gonna get stuck in the wondering and the worry.
00:12:53.039 --> 00:12:55.519
So, in that instance, here's what you do.
00:12:55.679 --> 00:12:57.679
First, you be with the feeling.
00:12:57.919 --> 00:13:09.279
If you're feeling awkward, if you have a bound of what is it, a vulnerability hangover or a boundary hangover, first be with that feeling of shame, of anxiety, of worry, whatever it is.
00:13:09.759 --> 00:13:11.120
Be right there with it.
00:13:11.440 --> 00:13:12.559
Hey, worry.
00:13:12.799 --> 00:13:14.000
I'm so glad you're here.
00:13:14.159 --> 00:13:15.120
You're here to protect me.
00:13:15.200 --> 00:13:15.919
Of course you are.
00:13:16.000 --> 00:13:18.320
I'm so grateful that you're here to protect me.
00:13:18.559 --> 00:13:20.559
Thank you for showing up, for having my back.
00:13:20.639 --> 00:13:22.000
What is it you want me to know?
00:13:22.799 --> 00:13:25.679
That's number one validation for the feeling, being with it.
00:13:25.840 --> 00:13:26.960
Where is it in your body?
00:13:27.279 --> 00:13:28.559
Drop down into your body.
00:13:28.720 --> 00:13:31.919
It'll only take 90 seconds, most feelings to pass through.
00:13:32.559 --> 00:13:34.240
Get some information from it.
00:13:35.279 --> 00:13:38.639
Then whatever it's telling you, oh, I think you were too much.
00:13:38.720 --> 00:13:40.399
I think you took up too much space.
00:13:41.039 --> 00:13:42.080
Maybe you did.
00:13:42.320 --> 00:13:43.039
Embrace it.
00:13:43.200 --> 00:13:44.960
Maybe I did take up too much space.
00:13:45.600 --> 00:13:47.519
Maybe I can be too much sometimes.
00:13:47.759 --> 00:13:48.960
Maybe I'm okay with that.
00:13:49.519 --> 00:13:51.840
We're all nobody's perfect, right?
00:13:52.159 --> 00:13:55.279
Embrace those little things about yourself and they will lose their power.
00:13:55.360 --> 00:14:03.759
And ironically, when you embrace your bigness, your too muchness, you stop needing to take up so much space.
00:14:04.240 --> 00:14:08.080
When you embrace your introversion, you're like, maybe I'm okay being introverted.
00:14:08.399 --> 00:14:10.080
Sometimes you're a little less introverted.
00:14:10.480 --> 00:14:12.080
Not that introversion is a bad thing.
00:14:12.320 --> 00:14:23.600
I'm just saying, whatever that thing is that you're critical about in yourself, if you totally embrace it and accept it, sometimes it stops being so big of a thing, anyways.
00:14:24.480 --> 00:14:26.080
It loses its power.
00:14:26.399 --> 00:14:29.840
You're just looking at what works and doesn't work, and then you can shift things a little bit.
00:14:31.039 --> 00:14:36.960
When we reject that feeling, that shame spiral, we end up doing more of it usually.
00:14:37.039 --> 00:14:38.799
We get a little weird, a little awkward.
00:14:39.600 --> 00:14:47.360
Here's some examples of how this creating our own validation has helped my clients.
00:14:48.000 --> 00:14:54.159
One of my clients used to always look at facial expressions, kind of threat scan, and ask her partner, Are you mad at me?
00:14:54.320 --> 00:14:55.120
Are you mad at me?
00:14:55.600 --> 00:15:05.919
After we did some work on this, now we tricked her brain into being like, if he's just making a facial expression, he's probably thinking about something totally different, which the data supported.
00:15:06.240 --> 00:15:11.039
He's probably just like passing gas or thinking about something from his day.
00:15:11.120 --> 00:15:17.120
And every single time she checked in with him before, it was actually one of those things, but she was still believing her brain that he was mad at her.
00:15:17.360 --> 00:15:24.080
So instead, now she literally just tells herself he's probably just passing gas or something and makes herself laugh.
00:15:24.320 --> 00:15:26.159
She never checks in with him anymore.
00:15:26.879 --> 00:15:29.120
She just knows he's never mad at me.
00:15:29.360 --> 00:15:31.039
She's not threat scanning anymore.
00:15:31.120 --> 00:15:33.679
She's just giggling about the way she tricked her brain.
00:15:33.840 --> 00:15:34.720
Literally.
00:15:35.120 --> 00:15:45.120
Another client used to check in with her boss before she left the office every day, despite having kicked ass all day and working an eight to nine hour day.
00:15:45.440 --> 00:15:48.000
She realized I'm just people pleasing.
00:15:48.240 --> 00:15:51.519
I'm just looking for like people pleasing him.
00:15:51.600 --> 00:15:57.279
I'm asking him if there's anything else he wants me to do, even though I know I'm done with my day and I did everything I needed to do.
00:15:57.600 --> 00:15:58.879
She doesn't do it anymore.
00:15:59.039 --> 00:16:00.639
And she feels so awesome.
00:16:00.799 --> 00:16:04.000
She's creating her own validation when she leaves.
00:16:04.320 --> 00:16:07.360
She just tells herself, yeah, that was a day well done.
00:16:07.440 --> 00:16:09.360
And she leaves with a peaceful heart.
00:16:09.840 --> 00:16:19.440
Another one with her family used to allow her family, who was all upset about all kinds of different things, she would just fawn over them.
00:16:19.919 --> 00:16:26.480
Try to take actions to make them feel better and seek validation that they weren't mad, right?
00:16:26.559 --> 00:16:28.080
Because they were all over the place.
00:16:28.159 --> 00:16:30.720
And now she gives herself her own validation.
00:16:30.879 --> 00:16:32.240
This is not me, this is them.
00:16:32.639 --> 00:16:37.200
She sets different boundaries and limits with her family, spends less time with them when she doesn't want to.
00:16:37.360 --> 00:16:39.840
And she feels so much more at peace.
00:16:40.159 --> 00:16:43.279
Same thing with clients with hormonal teenagers.
00:16:44.240 --> 00:16:45.679
Instead of asking them, Are you okay?
00:16:45.759 --> 00:16:46.240
Are you okay?
00:16:46.320 --> 00:16:46.639
Are you okay?
00:16:46.799 --> 00:16:48.000
She's like, Oh, they're hormonal.
00:16:49.039 --> 00:16:49.600
This is normal.
00:16:50.720 --> 00:16:53.679
And her kids just feel more relaxed around her.
00:16:54.399 --> 00:17:04.880
With businesses, I cannot tell you the progress that I see with people posting to social media and telling themselves, This is good, this is fine, this post was great.
00:17:05.680 --> 00:17:12.160
Going and leading a class, starting to promote their business, getting out there, being visible.
00:17:12.240 --> 00:17:21.759
And instead of needing a million likes or followers or people telling them that was great, they create their own validation and they show up consistently and their business thrives.
00:17:22.799 --> 00:17:26.400
So our goal is to never need external validation.
00:17:26.480 --> 00:17:27.519
That's step one.
00:17:27.920 --> 00:17:29.839
Never need it to be okay.
00:17:30.160 --> 00:17:35.839
And by doing that, we create our own power, we maintain our own momentum, we write our own future.
00:17:36.480 --> 00:17:37.519
It's inevitable.
00:17:38.799 --> 00:17:42.400
But we enjoy it when it comes because it feels great to get validation.
00:17:42.480 --> 00:17:44.720
So we soak it up, we love it, right?
00:17:44.799 --> 00:17:49.119
I know a lot of coaches and people will say, feel neutral, whether it's positive or negative.
00:17:49.200 --> 00:17:51.039
I think it's great to have positive feedback.
00:17:51.119 --> 00:17:56.960
So, like, I'm a fan of letting yourself feel thank you, receive things, feel great about the positive feedback.
00:17:57.279 --> 00:17:59.039
Feel neutral about negative feedback.
00:17:59.119 --> 00:18:05.359
I just think that's helpful to take the feedback, look at what you can do differently if you want to, consider it.
00:18:05.839 --> 00:18:09.920
So never need validation, but enjoy it when it comes.
00:18:10.319 --> 00:18:12.000
So that's the never needing.
00:18:12.400 --> 00:18:16.400
And the second part is always give it because it does feel great.
00:18:16.640 --> 00:18:18.160
And words create reality.
00:18:18.319 --> 00:18:22.799
So when we walk around in the world and we say, Hey, that dress looks great on you.
00:18:22.960 --> 00:18:24.480
Oh my gosh, I love how that speech went.
00:18:24.559 --> 00:18:26.079
You did so great in that presentation.
00:18:26.240 --> 00:18:28.799
Here's the specific ways I thought you killed it.
00:18:29.519 --> 00:18:32.079
In the way of validation, in the way of gratitude.
00:18:32.240 --> 00:18:34.559
Thank you so much for taking out the trash today.
00:18:34.640 --> 00:18:35.680
That was such a big help.
00:18:35.920 --> 00:18:38.799
Thank you for taking care of signing the kids up for camp.
00:18:38.960 --> 00:18:41.839
Thank you for showing up and helping me with my event.
00:18:41.920 --> 00:18:42.319
Thank you.
00:18:42.480 --> 00:18:44.160
So that's the always give.
00:18:44.799 --> 00:18:48.079
Because if we're all always giving validation, it would be great.
00:18:48.720 --> 00:18:52.160
But we all need to not need it to be okay.
00:18:53.200 --> 00:18:56.960
So never need the validation because we create our own safety.
00:18:57.200 --> 00:18:58.799
We create our own love.
00:18:59.200 --> 00:19:00.960
We are responsible for how we feel.
00:19:01.119 --> 00:19:04.480
We can enjoy it when it comes to us, but we never need it to be okay.
00:19:05.039 --> 00:19:08.480
And also, whenever it's authentic for us, we'll give it.
00:19:08.640 --> 00:19:11.359
Lots of gratitude, lots of appreciation.
00:19:11.519 --> 00:19:30.240
Living in the miracle of the world around us creates the most awesome ecosystem in our body because I don't need anybody to validate me when I walk into a room, but I am full of appreciation and gratitude because I am living this one incredible life in my skin with my face and my ideas and my voice.
00:19:30.480 --> 00:19:47.920
And the combination of those two things, never needing validation because I'm never giving my power away, but always creating validation for the world around me because I'm appreciating it out loud, or at least in my head, gives me so much agency in my life.
00:19:48.400 --> 00:19:52.720
Gives me so much, nobody else controls how I feel I do.
00:19:54.079 --> 00:19:56.720
Gives me so much power and I'm proud of who I'm being all the time.
00:19:57.200 --> 00:20:13.359
So your two steps, your process is how can you never need validation because you give it to yourself, but give lots of validation in the form of gratitude, appreciation, presence, living in the miracle.
00:20:13.680 --> 00:20:16.559
That combination is everything.
00:20:17.599 --> 00:20:20.000
All right, that's what I've got for you today.
00:20:20.240 --> 00:20:24.720
Enjoy it, and I will see you next week.
00:20:38.559 --> 00:20:50.240
This is a year-round membership where we take all of these concepts and we apply them to real life in a community where we have each other's backs and we bring out the best in each other.
00:20:50.400 --> 00:20:53.200
We're all there to make our ideas real.
00:20:53.759 --> 00:20:56.000
One idea at a time.
