MENGENAI EPISOD INI
Welcome to AFCONnect - the podcast celebrating African football on its own terms.
Hosted by David Gyasi and Guvna B, AFCONnect dives deep into the stories, performances, politics, and culture shaping the Africa Cup of Nations.
In our first-ever episode, recorded straight after the opening game of AFCON 2025, we break down Morocco vs Comoros, reflect on a disciplined underdog performance, and react to one of the goals of the tournament already.
We also address the Ghanaian elephant in the room - Ghana’s failure to qualify - and debate who we’re backing to win AFCON, including favourites and dark horses.
Plus, we’re joined by award-winning football journalist and broadcaster Darren Lewis to discuss:
- Breaking news about AFCON’s future format
- The introduction of an African Nations League
- Star players, MVP contenders, and wonderkids
- Why AFCON still isn’t given the respect it deserves
- The impact of shortened preparation time for African teams
We wrap up with Matchday 2 predictions, putting our reputations on the line for bragging rights across the tournament.
New episodes drop every week throughout AFCON.
