This week on Uploaded & Unfiltered, I sat down with Mel: Houston-born barista of 13 years, music producer, streamer since 2019, and proud dog mom to Nubia. We got into how she was making content before she knew what content was. That meant abandoned YouTube channels, Instagram motivational rants, and yes, slam poetry she’d rather you didn’t find.
Mel breaks down how a simple accountability challenge to post twice a day, plus a two-day streaming schedule, finally moved her numbers. She also talks about setting boundaries with community, what parasocial relationships look like, and why losing people on this platform is okay. Her advice for creators who feel like they’re falling behind is simple: good soup takes time to simmer.
