Ep 58: He had until Friday to decide. Go back to the army and the six figure stability, or keep betting on a business that had paid him nothing in two years. So he walked into his commander's office and begged for one more weekend.
Parker McCumber is an army trained rocket scientist turned entrepreneur, e-commerce operator, author, and sitting city councilman in Vineyard, Utah. He grew up in the kind of poverty where asking your mom for meat at dinner makes her cry, joined the military to escape it, and has since built a life around one conviction: nobody is coming to save you, and you have an obligation to do something about it.
In the first ever in studio episode of Unreasonable Autonomy, Sarah and Parker sit face to face and get into the parts of the story most people skip. The failed government contracts. The stickers he sketched in his grandmother's basement. The wife who kept the faith when he lost his. The moments he can only explain as the hand of God. And why, with a thriving business and a growing family, he keeps signing up for harder things.
In this episode, you'll discover:
✔️ Why Parker refuses the word "balance" and what he chases instead
✔️ The simple formula he says makes success statistically unavoidable
✔️ How to tell the difference between a real mentor and an expensive one
✔️ What he actually gained in the two years he earned nothing
✔️ Why he thinks getting in your own way is an entrepreneur's biggest weakness
If you are in the basement stage right now, wondering at 2am whether you are cut out for this, this one is for you.
