Hello, and welcome back to the Shadows Run Podcast!
Today's episode features a conversation with Amy Martin. Amy is the founder, host, and executive producer of Threshold, an award-winning documentary podcast about our place as humans in the natural world. In addition to creating Threshold, Amy has produced stories for NPR's All Things Considered and other national outlets. In 2016, she was selected for the Scripps Fellowship in Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado Boulder. Amy has been invited to give presentations about her work at the Environmental Film Festival in Washington DC, the International Wildlife Film Festival, the Arctic Frontiers conference in Norway, and on the TEDx stage.
In this conversation, we discuss:
- what motivated Amy to start her own documentary podcast
- how Amy chooses the themes for each season
- why stories and storytelling matters
- what the concepts of "home" and connection to place mean to her personally
- the guiding principles behind her work
- what advice she has for young people in these incredibly challenging times
- ...and a whole lot more!
I am so glad you are here!
