Dr. Etta Matua walked to school without shoes for seven years in rural Kenya. Today, she's a Professor of Intercultural Communication at St. Cloud State, a Carnegie African Diaspora Fellow, and a marathon runner who has rewritten her own story more times than most of us will in a lifetime.
In this episode, Eddah and host Margo talk about what it means to write your own script — from a childhood without electricity, to earning a PhD while caring for a son with a developmental delay, to building a new life in the U.S. on nothing but determination and hope.
A conversation about resilience, identity, and choosing who you want to be — one day at a time.
