In our Season 4 Episode 2 conversation, we explore the evolving terminology and concepts surrounding standardized patients and human simulation in healthcare education.
Amy and Megan discuss the recent changes in definitions, the challenges of consistency in research, and the importance of psychological safety for both learners and participants. They also highlight the future of certification in human simulation and the need for collaboration among various associations to advance the field.
This conversation delves into the recent developments in accreditation standards for human simulation, focusing on the SSH and ASPE organizations. The speakers discuss the implications of these standards for simulation education, the importance of human simulation, and the role of standardized patients. They also explore the future of simulation in the context of AI integration and the need for advocacy for standardized patients.
