That's right, Doctor Shy and Bryant has been under fire for the lack of credentials being able to be shown for her degrees. She did let us know that she only has to answer to God and said f the haters. Amongst more, we have our thoughts on all of the things with the doctor title and more. Then up next we have the Swatch and AP collaboration, which has the people screaming elitism. I also did not know that the kids were standing in line again for things like a pocket watch. Yeah, no, it's kind of crazy. Then, of course, y'all, Hannah virus hansa virus hates the virus. How you saying? Another virus that will not be putting us in the house, but we will talk about what it means. And also the fact that there is new studies showing that this is something that can live in semen for up to six years. That's right. And then in celebrities say the darnest things. We're getting into the Kevin Hart roast and then we are talking about him embarrassing. That's right. Drake dropped three albums this Friday, and we are getting into it with our album reviews. 00:04:11
Speaker 1: You the Iceman. You know what I'm saying. I hate this and I hate.
00:04:14
Speaker 3: Revelation this weekend too. It's gonna be fantastic. It's gonna be a fantastic pod. So excited.
00:04:22
Speaker 1: Jason, do you see already?
00:04:23
Speaker 3: He is so excited to be here with all. I just want to say to Jason, closed your ears here and you too. When this episode come out, the Knicks will be uh playing the Eastern Congress finals. This is gonna be the most game one plastic letdown, you know, so you think Cleveland about to get out of it even if they go to the finals.
00:04:49
Speaker 1: Only in one way.
00:04:50
Speaker 3: We heard this two rounds ago, But I'm not saying that only in one way in sad isn't disappointed eight games away the Salads cowboys, Jason.
00:04:59
Speaker 1: And you to mean that the Knicks are going to the Eastern Conference.
00:05:03
Speaker 2: I mean, I'm for the purposes of my day job, I'm very happy about it.
00:05:07
Speaker 1: Because it makes my business decisions.
00:05:11
Speaker 2: Round two was that was a hard like man the early morning is coming in and hair and m d M too.
00:05:18
Speaker 1: Yeah. Did he deserves it? Though he does. He's a clown. Like enough, damn clown.
00:05:28
Speaker 2: When I tell you something like, you know, like you get to the end of the road sometimes and it's not there and you gotta part ways.
00:05:34
Speaker 1: I view it that way.
00:05:36
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:05:37
Speaker 1: Well, before we get into all the mess, I do want to shout out to Gilead, Drew Cares and Black Market Flee. I was out there last weekend uh with Weezy, where I was really happy to be a part of like a mission basically we encourage people to get tested on the spot. Bitch, I'm negative about that bit. You know, got my little finger break. That was cool. And then I actually ended up coming back from La Uh. Mother's Day was Sunday, but I ended up going to Florida on Tuesday and ended up in Daytona. Ain't been to Daytona in a mini hunt and ended up going fishing. I did not realize that fishing was such a Floridian thing to do. I posted that I was going fishing, and niggas kept calling me while I was on the boat period, and I was like, yeah, I'm fishing and niggas was like, wait, like real fishing, Like, yes, bitch, I'm on a boat hop and yeah, I caught three fish. Apparently catfish don't really count. Count me counted, maybe not for him, but I caught. I did. It's funny, duddy, fuddy duddy. No I called. I called a catfish. I called a jackfish, and I think I think a little baby bass. I caught three fish. No, no, no, it was It wasn't about fish because it discay eats everything in the bottom. Yeah, well and it's delicious, baby, give me that money.
00:07:22
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, the little fish baby.
00:07:27
Speaker 1: You know, evolution soon now. I didn't want to. I didn't want to ask y'all though, because it was something that you know, me and my mom mental health. We were having a lot of it in terms of conversation, and it's really interesting because I was telling her what her homework needed to be with her therapists in her fifties. She couldn't answer two questions, and so I want to start the pod by asking all these questions. So I asked her what fears she has, because I think that that needs to be attacked before anything else, because that's where your anxiety comes from. That's where depression can come from. That's where all of that. So if I could ask y'all, a, do you know what your fears are? And then the second thing is, name me two things that make you happy that you can do that brings you joy, that you could do literally by yourself. That maybe doesn't include drinking or drugs or any of that. Yeah, no vices, but just do you know what makes you happy? So let me start with the fears and then go to what makes you happy? Do you know a king the answer to that? What makes me happy?
00:08:50
Speaker 3: Creating okay, you know, and just peace, like just finding what brings the peace, could read in a book, just just being away from.
00:09:03
Speaker 1: Chaos, okay. And you know what fears you live in? Yeah, tragedy okay, you wake up in fear a tragedy happened.
00:09:15
Speaker 3: No, I mean a general fear wake up like well nowadays that's probably amplified. You wake up, wake up, like you open your phone, like but I guess you know stuff like that, like you know, just yeah, it's like.
00:09:34
Speaker 1: So I'm gonna I'm gonna start to see I don't even think about that too much. So I had to give her my answer to also help her fine arts. So when I first started therapy, I had three fears that I lived in. One was getting back fat, okay honestly, the other one is financial. I like, when I got I'm in fear of always just losing all my money. And then the other one was having to work again for someone else, like all of this that I created failing. So I constantly like was going after more jobs. I was constantly like like checking the scale, checking you know, my weight, Like my fear is going back to being two thirty again after losing eighty pounds and going through the gastrik. And then my other my other fear is just financial fear, like getting to a place where I don't have enough to cover my bills and things like that, because I've had to decide between like toilet paper and food. I've been to where, you know, before the ATMs allowed you to take ten dollars out and you could only take twenty. I didn't have the twenty to take out, like I've been there. So when I first started therapy, I was like, how do I get out of you know, existing like this? Sure? And so I got past that, and then so the two things that I really enjoy. One is live music and live band. It literally I could just be looking at it. Yom came with me to see Robert Gasper and I was just there and I flow. I love live music. I'm actually going tonight to see Eric Bellinger that City Winery, City Winery. And then the other thing that makes me happy, which is actually now changing because flights would be traveling. I love my toes in the stand and traveling. So those are the two things that I know, by myself, with nobody else I can do and it brings joy to my life. Okay, those are good, joh.
00:11:34
Speaker 3: I think my biggest fear is I guess it's a I think it's a half and half two.
00:11:39
Speaker 1: Part of one of it is like not meeting my.
00:11:41
Speaker 3: Own expectations, and the other half of that is the imposter syndrome of like having been in this space for fifteen years, like I feel like I've done a lot of shit and I feel like I'm pretty good at what I do. But I also it's just like, damn, am I supposed to actually be here amongst all my peers? Am I actually supposed to know these people? Am I actually supposed to be in these rooms? Having these conversations like am I supposed to be doing this? Am I doing it the right way? Am I just figuring it out?
00:12:11
Speaker 1: You know?
00:12:11
Speaker 3: At some point you tell yourself, well, everyone's just figuring it out. Everyone is trying to just do their best, and like not everybody has all the answers. But for me, that's like a thing in my head of like you got to get over that that hump of like, no, nigga, like you've been doing this for a long time. People believe in you, so you should believe in yourself. So I think for me, that's part of an internal struggle that goes on and.
00:12:33
Speaker 1: What do you do to make you happy? I'm with you.
00:12:36
Speaker 3: Live music, okay, Live music to me is like church, like there is rejuvenation. You know.
00:12:43
Speaker 1: It's crazy. When I used to go to church, I used to I used to get there when when when? When? When the when the past started talking? I did not like. I did not like that part, So for me, I would I'm not.
00:13:00
Speaker 3: Actually, when I think about it, church is the first place where I learned that I like live music without even knowing, because I remember being a little kid and being church and the choir singing they might be singing whatever the song is it.
00:13:10
Speaker 1: This isn't even about the words.
00:13:12
Speaker 3: It's like the frequency of sound when it's a good ass choir that's singing and you get goosebumps because they just hit some note or did some harmonies, Like, oh shit, what the fuck is that?
00:13:22
Speaker 1: What am I feeling?
00:13:23
Speaker 3: As a kid, I didn't know what that was until I got older, started loving music, and you go to concerts and you get that feeling again. Like I went to I went to school Boy Q show. This is two years ago down I think when Blue Lips came out and we're still in the midst of like post beef kind of thing. But the DJ's playing records to warm the crowd up, and he played Euphoria and there's a whole crowd of two thousand people singing this shit word for word for like six and a half minutes, and it's like, oh shit, there's power.
00:13:51
Speaker 1: Now.
00:13:51
Speaker 3: You go see a song that everybody knows. Dgyola ain't gonna let up when this song comes on and this whole place is singing this song and everybody feels it. It's like that's an amazing feeling. So live music is definitely one of them.
00:14:04
Speaker 1: I think. The other thing that makes me happy is like food, a good meal. Oh wait, bitch, why did I get that? Really really, even on the day, it's not even a good meal as much as like, it's so funny because because my boyfriend made fun of me because I really wanted crab Claus one night and he didn't want to go, and I started crying because I want to cry. I'm a bride too, but but sushi like makes my heart sing. It's also because I'm Japanese. Yes, I am Japanese. Down uh. And then Jason, I can't leave without asking you the same thing. Do you know your fears and what makes you happy? And then we're going to get into all the mess. Yeah.
00:14:45
Speaker 2: I like this topic. It gives people get a chance to know it.
00:14:48
Speaker 1: This is a person I was. I was deep with my mom. No, yeah, I can tell she didn't fifty So I was like, I wonder And also the people listening, I would love for you to write down what how you live in fear and what makes you happy?
00:15:05
Speaker 2: They gotta they gotta at you, They gotta at you so we can read them like.
00:15:08
Speaker 1: Yeah, I would love to know, But Jason, fear makes you happy?
00:15:12
Speaker 2: My fear it's all like family, like, you know, like what kind of man will I be when my father passed passes? You know what I mean, Like they kind of say like you're not really a man until like you lose your father or your mother and kind of just seeing like how I'll relate to my family then. And then the other one is just you know, not wanting to fail my daughter, right, Like I feel like I don't know, I like my career has been good. I feel like I've had a good career, so it's like I don't worry about that.
00:15:36
Speaker 1: I love my family.
00:15:37
Speaker 2: So I feel like my kind of like waking thought and my closing thought when I go to sleep is always about my daughter. So my fear is like, you know, just really not being able to you know, just not failing her right like whatever is she needs or just like the attention or the love, the care and just you know, not like you know, not being in a position where I'm like ignoring the moments that to me, I don't want it to seem like, oh it's just Tuesday, but it's like foundational for her, and like missing those moments like that's like my biggest fears that I'm like out of sync with her and and end up failing her.
00:16:09
Speaker 1: And then what makes me happy? What makes me happy?
00:16:13
Speaker 2: I mean obviously, like my career is dedicated to hip hop, so I love Fridays. I love Fridays and new music. And then other than that, like Mondays, Like I play softball, like some old man puto Rican Ship softball. Nobody asked me what I do for a living. Nobody asked me what I'm listening to. Nobody asked me like where I'm going out. It's just you know, jump on the field and like get busy. So like, the thing that makes me happy is softball.
00:16:35
Speaker 1: I love it. I guess that that. I'm like, I'm like super super all over the city. He brought out his nineteen Many Purposes.
00:16:52
Speaker 3: Clark, I'm a baseball head too.
00:16:56
Speaker 1: Well, uh, Jason, let's get into this as America. Do you want to introduce this first topic while I put on.
00:17:06
Speaker 2: My cap, oh Man, Doctor Cheyenne Bryant's been under fire for her degrees. If you haven't been checking it out, I don't know what your social media feed looks like, but you know she's been on Club Shayshay, She's been on with cam Newton. She does her kind of public therapy sessions, but now people are questioning her degree and her expertise, and yeah, she obviously she took to a microphone like she is wont to do, and she tried to explain herself. So let me play this clip for y'all, so y'all can, by the.
00:17:36
Speaker 1: Way, while you pull that up. She's been on a press run because she just released a new book and so this all started with her interview on The Breakfast Club where they questioned if she was an actual doctor. This is her on another daytime television show, which, by the way, she had to clear up on The Breakakfast Club her doctor degree since her time on the Joe Button podcast. So she went on the Joe Button Podcast where they questioned her and since then the internet's been a digging. So you could play this clip. This is from the Marissa Mitchell Show.
00:18:16
Speaker 3: And she was at the Breakfast Club saying that she wasn't gonna talk about it anymore talking about it.
00:18:22
Speaker 1: Let's play this clear there we go.
00:18:25
Speaker 4: Earn the title. I have multiple degrees and I'm not going to prove anything to anybody. My obedience is to God, not to people. And so as long as I'm in his will and I'm serving and I'm doing his you know his word, my sheep will know my voice, even the sheep, and with clothing that is not my.
00:18:41
Speaker 1: Battle of the questions that are out there, why not provide the proof of your degree? Why not? Why not?
00:18:46
Speaker 4: Well, a couple of things, right. I have multiple degrees, and my thing is that my proof isn't something that I have to prove to individuals. My proof is already within my credentials, my degrees, and also more than just my title, it's and how effective I've been. All of my sessions have been live for the most part, my sessions with Nick Cannon, Cam Newton, Shannon Sharp, b Simone, they have all been for the world to see. Right, so no one knew who doctor Bryant was prior to seeing all of my sessions that were live.
00:19:17
Speaker 1: They deemed it.
00:19:18
Speaker 4: As well as I did before they did it. They can't validate my valid in myself. They deemed it as my work being effected.
00:19:26
Speaker 1: Man, man, man, man. I want to start off by saying, with love, this is all with love. I do know Shy and Bryant, we both have toured with tonight's conversations. I have met her personally. She's a kind woman. That's where I'm gonna start. However, bitch calling your therapy sessions or calling these podcast that you've gone on live sessions, I think is a bunch of fucking ship. First offt Secondly, if you are watching this on video, make sure you follow us YouTube dot com. Backslash at with Mandy B. Maybe I got my degrees behind me? Degrees with an ass. She kept saying she has multiple degrees, babe, minor behind me. I have a Bachelor of Science and Accounting. Come loud. Maybe I made it. Come loud, Jesus Christ bachelor and then a Bachelor of Business Administration, Come loud. Bit what shirt of like ripping to me? I will say as a as a woman who busted her ass. I got one hundred and fifty one credits in four years, and baby, yes, and I was potting, and I was working at Goldman Sachs, and I fucking even interviewed for the UH for an internship with the Obama administration. I studied abroad in Singapore for international Business. I was there. I did it. I got my degrees. I can get my transcripts stuff I want shot.
00:21:27
Speaker 2: Out a shout out leading college, which is a city university.
00:21:34
Speaker 1: I will say, as someone who went to school, as someone who knows how hard it is, as someone who's currently not using those degrees, it is one of the things that, Baby, if anyone questions you, it's not you know, God knows me, God God, I don't have to explain to nobody about my potentials and my multiple degrees. Bitch, if you have an associate's degree, you go, motherfucker wear that with pro and you go be able to show it. So for me, I am disgusted with the fact that she has just been giving us word vomit. I do also think that this is a clear example of how niggas ended up in the cult with nature boy like, as long as someone can form complete sentences, you will have followers. Now, since all of this has been happening, the publisher of her book that just got released is actually offering refunds for people who purchase the book because of her lack.
00:22:35
Speaker 3: Of credentials, still continued to press.
00:22:40
Speaker 1: Run you know What's all still crazy to me? And as a New York Times bestseller, and she keeps saying that her book is a bestseller, but even that, what are you a bestseller? And so for me, I'm not gonna lie. This is giving pathological liar. It's not giving doctor, it's giving liar. And I do have a voice note that I got set in the DM, and first off, I want I want y'all thoughts on all of this. However, what we do is respond to the internet, right, And so a lady in my DMS wrote me, you know, let me see if I could play the voice. No, actually, she reached my DM because I feel like this is what a lot of the internet is asking. So I want you to take a listen to this.
00:23:35
Speaker 5: I asked the question because I wanted to know what your opinions are. You seem like a non biased person.
00:23:42
Speaker 1: I want to know.
00:23:45
Speaker 5: If it's rooted in her being a black woman, a woman kind of like de Kamela. It's like where but I don't do that with like doctor Phil or I do doctor Umar or doctor.
00:24:02
Speaker 1: Okay basically, and it keeps going. But basically, her question, and a lot of people's question, is is doctor shy and Brian under fire because she's a black woman using this title?
00:24:14
Speaker 3: No, okay, everybody, She's just name has been questioned. Yeah, every single person that she named on that list that she thinks hasn't been questioned has all been.
00:24:23
Speaker 1: I've seen questions about all of them. I also want y'all to know too, because y'all keep saying it is a joke in the in the comments, y'all know, Dr Pepper actually was founded by a nigga who's the doctor's So even like the Doctor Pepper jokes are crazy, I agree with you. I think that the idea that she's getting this backlash because she's a black woman is crazy. I will say there's a lot of people saying that it's black women that are attacking her, But I do think that as professionals, as people who go to school with credentials, as black people who always have to do things, actually to the to the it is a degree agree to any one of another color or race. I actually like that she's being held to the fire for this because I don't think that a doctor title is something you should be able to just use on nilly willy. I don't think that you should be able to get online and have people believe that you're a professional. She is charging people three hundred and fifty dollars an hour to talk to her on the phone, because they are under the guys that she is credentialed and went to school for these things. There is no dissertation online. She just keeps saying I have multiple degrees, and she has not been able to show proof of one, not even a graduation photo. Shout out to Adam. My dog Eddie caught me at my graduation holding that thing up. But yeah, I'm curious what y'all have been seeing on the internet. Jason, if you have any thoughts, a king, what are your thoughts on everything with this? She well, in a wild time.
00:25:57
Speaker 3: You know, what's the Florida kid that went to say with the doctor doctors started performing on surgeries and yeah, boy, yeah, I just have questions in terms of like this is in the past week, She's been on like three different platforms and there's nothing we learn new other. You know, she doesn't have a degree. So as long as we keep platforming her, she wins.
00:26:23
Speaker 1: Right.
00:26:24
Speaker 3: The questioning of her her certification is she's out here. Mental health is a priority in this culture, right, So she's out here projecting and she's an expert and she has the credentials to provide uh resource for that. But then it's like, okay, but you don't have the credentials. So that means anybody and everybody could get on these platforms right and just doing And she used Cam Newton and and their platforms as justification as to why she can do this. Maybe I missed this when before she got on Cam and show, did they preface this saying that, hey, this is a live consult.
00:27:05
Speaker 1: Another thing, she she's giving general advice to dating and relationships and things.
00:27:11
Speaker 3: And I think what was what caught her in the fire, really though, what is when she went to the Tonight's Conversation.
00:27:16
Speaker 1: No Joe buddenbodcast is the one that you think.
00:27:19
Speaker 3: I think is when she went to that Tonight's Conversation, he had on she had on the seat through net outfit.
00:27:25
Speaker 1: And people will know you're talking about the concert concept, you know what. I will say, that's what called. You know, Hey, a doctor wouldn't wear some ship like that. I will say she didn't. She she's somewhat spoke to it on the Breakfast Club. The reason why she even got to sit with these people, let's be very clear, is because she's an attractive woman. Boom she's had pretty privileged because there are a lot of black doctors. I follow so many that talk about sex, that talk about dating, that are actually certified with credits, but they just may not have the look they're not the.
00:28:04
Speaker 3: Doctor Batty's Doctor Doctor Baddie.
00:28:10
Speaker 1: Created show Doctor Batty's is crazy. I will say overall, I hate the take that the Internet is trying to say that this is an attack on a black woman because she's a black woman. I think that unfortunately, she is a pretty liar, and and we are platforming a liar. And I just wish that she would hone in on on just I don't know it. Can we can we what happened Mandy?
00:28:42
Speaker 2: Can we can we rank some of her lies? If we do, let's say there's she said she was gonna continue to do her work without a license, right. She said a license doesn't mean anything. Then she said that she's a doctor, and then she said that those interviews were it wasn't even on her show. She went on other people's show to do sessions.
00:29:01
Speaker 1: She said, our ghosty University burnt down. She found out two years after it burnt down, and said that they didn't have her transcripts. I want to tell you. Actually, the biggest lie that I think she said that I've never heard of in my entire life. The biggest lie being that she went through a doctorate program, called them and they offered her her money back. I have never heard a university you going through, taking all the courses and all the classes and them saying we don't have your transcripts because the third party lost it. But do you want your money back? And she said no, they just going to give you even if you had financial aids. It's it's tens of thousands of dollars a university that now is no longer in business. How would they offer you the money back for this program that you went through like that? To me, I was just like, bitch, Sally may still on my dick.
00:30:02
Speaker 3: Let me ask you, what's the what's the over under that she googled closed online universities and.
00:30:12
Speaker 1: You can't really do nothing. Oh, I'm not gonna lie in the work field. American apparel would be on my goddamn resume. Spirit Airlines would be on my.
00:30:22
Speaker 3: Uh.
00:30:23
Speaker 1: Any of the places that have closed down and shut down would be on my fucking resume. Listen, flight attended for Spirit Airlines but yeah.
00:30:33
Speaker 3: My problem is this a well, let's we're talking about the black woman attacked things.
00:30:37
Speaker 1: First.
00:30:38
Speaker 3: The first response that I saw to this was a woman named doctor Raquel Martin, and her video now has like two point five million views, and she really broke down each of the claims that Yanne Bryant made and was explaining why this is either dangerous or just probably untrue. And like, as black people, well, we understand the idea that we have to work harder and do more to be seen, but we should also be holding ourselves to a certain standard. This isn't a black woman being attacked for being a black woman, like this is. You're talking about being a professional, a medical health professional. Yep, you should be able to document where you came from, where your credentials are. That should be something that any medical professional would be proud to show you.
00:31:25
Speaker 1: This is what it is, medical professional. Like, in no way does a doctor who goes into the operating room not have to show credentials to be in that operating room. You don't. But now because it's mental health, yes it's And that.
00:31:39
Speaker 3: Was part of Raquel a doctor Raquel Martin's point was that what if something goes wrong, you're doing therapy with somebody and something goes terribly wrong inside of these therapy sessions, and now this person goes and does something bad.
00:31:51
Speaker 1: Care Gain said the same thing. Yeah, when he was on Breakfast Club, he was like, you know, if you get to a part where within the session, you actually you have to lean into the things that you learned in school. It's not you just given advice to your home. Yeah, this is like mental health isn't just how to get a man, how to keep on Twitter. And that's what we actually see from her is the gender war conversations. I'm not gonna lie. I am highly disappointed in this. I also again have never heard of a publisher offering refunds because you you know, you are pushing a book based on this credential that now can't be proven. It's crazy. Also, I got a notice which is also weird. She it looks like she submitted to trademark her name doctor Brodhan. She could keep using the word doctor.
00:32:52
Speaker 3: And also people would have to acknowledge it as such as part of her names.
00:32:56
Speaker 1: That's such a disrespect.
00:32:58
Speaker 3: It is to like people that like doctors, not just it's not like you can't it's not a nickname. It's not like a brand name. It's not something that you call a product.
00:33:09
Speaker 1: What's crazy.
00:33:10
Speaker 3: It's a title that you earned through education.
00:33:12
Speaker 1: And critics are pointing out that a trademark protects a brand name, but not professional licensing, education or legal authority. The fact that she really.
00:33:24
Speaker 3: Did she tried to do dr dot or just doctor like the word dr dot, you know the word crazy. Well, look, I applaud her for for for the courage to you know, to even do it. I mean the scam very like you. If I trademark it, people have to acknowledge it as such. It's part of the name, and I never have to answer to the degree part of it.
00:33:48
Speaker 1: It's kind of clever. The links that you try to go through. She tried to cover up the bullshit is incredible.
00:33:56
Speaker 3: That's a that's a pipeline of money though, right, that's how she earns her.
00:33:59
Speaker 1: At me though, to me, though you already know, I don't like the niggas will be selling courses a million dollars and they ain't never made a podcast that made a million dollars. And so for me, yeah, I have a problem with this. Well, let's get into the next topic. Swatch did a collaboration with a P and boy didn't get the people going. There's been conversations around elitism because rappers have spoken out that this collab is going to cheapen the brand of a P. There are I do want to play this clip because Jah has not seen this clip. I have not if you could pull it up. Jason DDNG took to the internet to say this about the collaboration.
00:34:54
Speaker 3: Slay makes a goofy because DDG is saying it but goes three h undred bucks.
00:35:00
Speaker 6: Nigga like, just seeing this make me want to sell my ap AP.
00:35:04
Speaker 1: What's up?
00:35:05
Speaker 4: Man?
00:35:05
Speaker 6: What's going on? I done spent two hundred thousand on one of y'all watches. You telling me I could have waited til twenty twenty six and spent three hundred and got the same effect. The holes can't tell the difference.
00:35:18
Speaker 1: Wow, they don't know. What the fuck?
00:35:19
Speaker 6: If it's a skeleton, I tell a girl a this black Ceramic ap Limited Edition three hundred thousand, You feel me?
00:35:31
Speaker 1: Come on, bro, that shit ain't right, brother. It's niggas down here that really paid reset.
00:35:37
Speaker 6: I could see if I was getting my watches for fucking, fucking retail. I'm paying resale prices, Nigga, I'm getting hit on the head for extra twenty thousand Rocky y'all watch or extra fucking one hundred thousand Nigga, the AP skeleton that shit retail like eighty bands or some shit. I'm pissed as a customer. I'm pissed.
00:35:58
Speaker 3: Y'all gonna make a billion dollar was off this ship.
00:36:00
Speaker 1: I get it. I already know.
00:36:03
Speaker 2: That man turned into the MLK of AP watching.
00:36:06
Speaker 3: Yeah, Like, the first problem is everything he said says, I don't know shit about watches.
00:36:13
Speaker 1: I don't know shit about.
00:36:14
Speaker 3: What's a valuable time piece versus what's not a valuable time piece. He's saying the words that the marketing said to him, that the salesman said to him, it's black ceramic, Nigga, How do you make ceramic?
00:36:26
Speaker 1: Nigga?
00:36:27
Speaker 3: Where a ceramic come from? That makes you think that you know that it's why it's valuable, nig What do you know about complexities and engage clusters to know why a certain kind of watch is expensive versus another kind of one.
00:36:39
Speaker 1: The fact that he said the holes ain't gonna know the difference the holes on all the difference. No way. I mean as a former hole myself, I would like to say that as women if you want to know if a man has money for real, for real, literally look at his wrists that is little. And my ex actor Bay loved watches, so when we went to Vegas, we went to all the watch stores. Baby them things is intricate, Yeah, very intricate. And so for me actually yes, the hose do know the difference. Again, I'm not one anymore.
00:37:16
Speaker 2: But and also I was like it was ot genesis and.
00:37:24
Speaker 1: Yet there was there was one with a babyface more. This just to me shows unfortunately within our community, like it's the elitism of it all, like to not want people to be able to afford something that's, you know, that allows them to feel good about themselves. Let's also be very clear. Gucci has collaborated with Adidas, you have Alexander Wang and Baumont who have collaborated with H and M. You have like a lot of these fashion houses that I've collaborated with. You know, lower brands.
00:38:03
Speaker 3: You need to come down to a blue collar level, but it hasn't impacted.
00:38:06
Speaker 1: You still have the nice, uh higher end pieces and then you have the ones that are more affordable. Just don't get it, and I'm not gonna lie. Here's my ignorant take. Baby, I thought I was just gonna pull up to Lennox and get me one. I just was been again one just so I could resell it to the Nickels. And baby, I didn't know that the kids were out sleeping for five days. Well and non limited edition. It's not even limited edition.
00:38:31
Speaker 3: And they're not they're not. They don't have bands right pocket wile Nigga's gonna have that ship on their neck like flavor flame. Here's what's gonna happen. And this is so years ago. And we used to rock the JanSport book bags right now, the jims, and they used to have the strings and people would get jump strings, pull your strings just because you got dope strings on the back of a book.
00:38:58
Speaker 1: What do you think?
00:39:00
Speaker 3: What do you think is going to happen? When you got your time piece hanging out your pocket? It's over, you know, gonna give me that ship?
00:39:07
Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, By the way, I saw they already have dupes on Canal Street. So I'm not gonna hold you ignor. It's the same ship.
00:39:19
Speaker 7: It's the same ship, probably the same factory at all.
00:39:23
Speaker 3: Well, it's the same factory, and then you just use the remnants and put the ship together, because how do they produce it so queer?
00:39:28
Speaker 1: You know what, I'm not even gonna hold y'all. It's the same ship swatches for everybody. I'm I'll be in New York. I gotta get to New York though, collective ignorance, gag. We're gonna come in here with our motherfuckers watch and none of these niggas gonna look at they look at them. They don't. They don't look at their Apple watch. Can I also tell you it's a bracelet? I also, I don't know the theme. I did hit my one of my boyfriends and I was like, nig I know you got the plug on this? He said, I must be young. He didn't know what Swatch was. Oh, he didn't know the brandwayan he's a way in.
00:40:14
Speaker 3: But I guess it's with.
00:40:17
Speaker 1: Us, but now know it. Because of all of this, it worked, It worked, It did work well.
00:40:25
Speaker 3: The other problem is too and like we've been seeing this for a long time now, especially when it comes to primes and homecoming, but even just to see how kids are dressed now, like when I was in high school, and I dare to say when we were in high school, I don't know about you, but like Niggas wasn't There was nobody in my high school with Balenciaga, Louis Vatan the same same. The best thing you was going to get in high school is Tommy Hill figures. Jordan's was the top that was a luxury brand for teenagers.
00:40:57
Speaker 1: Naturally, not half none of this ship. It was a goal. It was I want to get a fossil watch. Yeah, ship like that was like sh that was like, oh my god, I made it. Yeah. No, yeah, I would say for me in school, it was definitely like if you had the new J's like that, you was the one. Because other than that which we was wearing reboxing in case.
00:41:16
Speaker 3: I went to the shoe store, I had the first iris ins like two weeks before they came out, and you couldn't tell me nothing.
00:41:23
Speaker 1: I thought I had a Rose Royce like yeah, jiggle I was wearing and one sneakers.
00:41:28
Speaker 3: Oh my god, start you know, to be your right, Like no labels were a thing.
00:41:37
Speaker 1: I think the biggest label at the time was coach like very like that, like so to be seeing that this is what like the youth is very materialized.
00:41:49
Speaker 3: Their aim is whatever's happened in pop culture, like from the necessity right, Look, we didn't see the met If we saw some met galaship at a kid, what the fuck is this that ship?
00:41:58
Speaker 1: Yeah?
00:41:59
Speaker 3: Now they to be they want to be that. They want to do everything that they see because it's kind of the world of blending in now.
00:42:05
Speaker 1: Yeah, because let me tell y'all, I ain't no shit about what the ap was till I heard future was given giving them out to what was the other problem to Like I gott a Rolex. That's as much don't do it rox? Wait wait, why don't do it? Hold on? I want to do it. No, we have to maintain Wait, who know what I'm saying. That's why we have goals. We have to have and like to achieve them.
00:42:30
Speaker 3: We don't want to if we if we reduce it, then we're not going to aim higher.
00:42:33
Speaker 1: I will be honest. You're on the same you're on the same page with d D. He's literally I'm.
00:42:40
Speaker 3: Gd doing it for the hose. But there's dudes do stuff. Yeah, But the nuance here is my girl, Like there's a certain thing of like if you want a lottery today, right, and you want a hundred million dollars, Yeah, there's a lot of ships you can go out and buy all at one time.
00:43:00
Speaker 1: Right.
00:43:00
Speaker 3: There's also you could also still pace yourself because I have one hundred million dollars. Don't have to go out today and buy every lamb Bou, every Ferrari, every Rolls Royce. I can still buy a Lambou this year and a Ferrari next year.
00:43:12
Speaker 1: But you know what happens with those? They depreciate, sure, which my friend actually told me this had to be my first big purchase. Now, this is like a baby. This is a thirty thirty one. It's only a seventy five hundred dollar watch. However, I could go to goddamn Rolex today and get seven first likes.
00:43:29
Speaker 3: Why I don't Rolex specifically, don't do it? Rolex, I always keep it, just keep, don't do no collabos, do not cheapen.
00:43:37
Speaker 1: I wouldn't be surprised they do Apple. We don't need to die. No, I wouldn't be surprised.
00:43:40
Speaker 3: At all if Rolex does an Apple watch that's twenty four carried goal has a German.
00:43:45
Speaker 2: Question, what is it cheaping a king say what yep, what is it? What is it cheaping? If Rolex does a collab with Apple watch, what is it for you?
00:43:54
Speaker 1: Specific?
00:43:55
Speaker 3: It is the the the idea that you have to said, no, this is not it's not I do I do have one, but that's a whole another story.
00:44:06
Speaker 1: So no.
00:44:08
Speaker 7: But but I trying to look at watch out of a king watch. That's what is me Just to me, Okay, hold on, what are those?
00:44:20
Speaker 3: Don't do that I have? I have nice watches. It's just that this is what is this? What this is? It's a brand called g O D Gold. Yeah, they don't, but you.
00:44:31
Speaker 1: Know it's crazy. It looked like a Rolex Basel really oh yeah, literally, it's like that's why I had to look hard. So I was like, I don't see cant j I mean, it might be a day day President date.
00:44:48
Speaker 3: Just there might be a silver dy just somewhere. The whole thing, the whole thing is it cheapens the idea that it's a status thing. You know, ultimately that's the same thing day it is. Look, I'm gonna give you examples. In sports, right you would see after a successful season, a vet would give the all of all of his teammates Rolexes at the end of the season for the hard work, right.
00:45:17
Speaker 1: Because you've achieved something.
00:45:19
Speaker 3: So this is the status, you know, right, Rappers, you know when you get your first deal, one of the first purchases is probably a rolely in the car, right or change because you arrived to it. You know, you're not doing it to flex, It's just that it just maintains a certain status.
00:45:35
Speaker 1: And that's what I'm That's why I'm saying.
00:45:36
Speaker 3: I hope they don't do it, because I don't want them to reduce the I just want to say.
00:45:42
Speaker 1: D d G pretty much said the same thing. He say he doesn't want people having an ap By the way, is it costs way more than a Rolex, So like you know, a p is.
00:45:53
Speaker 3: Ap is, but I'll pick but I'll pick Rolex over a p any day.
00:45:59
Speaker 1: Though. Well here's what I'll shoot. But it's more. I will say me too, because I can't afford an ap. No, but.
00:46:09
Speaker 3: I'm trying to drop these niggas so much so they could just send some ship go ahead. I think the nuance to me between what a king is saying and what D d G is saying is D d g is saying he feels like he's wearing something lesser than now because regular people can get it. I think the pint that a king is making is that you should there should be items that.
00:46:30
Speaker 1: You work up to as a successful thing.
00:46:34
Speaker 3: Like everything doesn't just like the idea of working hard if you really want something.
00:46:38
Speaker 1: Now, we should all be working hard, not to.
00:46:40
Speaker 3: Necessarily just achieve material things, but we all want material things.
00:46:43
Speaker 1: If you have your favorite car or your favorite My first purchase was a Gucci belt, and I was happy that I could go into the Gucci store that could give me the little champagne. But what did you do for that Gucci belt? WHOA? But that's my point. But that's my point I thought you were.
00:47:03
Speaker 3: They don't work hard, come loud and clouds and cloud come loud, but you bush your ass and get a thing. So I don't think that the a p is necessarily like the the end all be all of you being.
00:47:21
Speaker 1: Arriving at a place.
00:47:22
Speaker 3: But I do think the idea of working hard to achieve so that I can afford to buy a certain kind of thing is a thing. And if you get that thing for just basically nothing, without putting in something for it cheapens the idea of what is behind it.
00:47:37
Speaker 1: The ap is because of how it's made and my bucket. Man, this with d literally no, literally that Jason, he's not.
00:47:48
Speaker 2: He's worried about his class of hoes are gonna go down because the level of his status is cheap and work hard.
00:47:58
Speaker 1: But now you're de legitimate in his field of work. Whatever that may be. Well, I have reoimize of his field of work. What the fuck is his field of word? He's a streamer. That's it's very hard.
00:48:08
Speaker 3: No, okay, great, but like DDG like we're going to treat DDG like he's like some all right.
00:48:14
Speaker 1: Look you know what, you know what, let's let's let's get into real quick. Yeah, we have another virus on Jason, explain that Hannah virus.
00:48:28
Speaker 2: Oh man, that's so the Hannah So it it's a it's a rare but potentially serious viobel infections.
00:48:35
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:48:36
Speaker 2: It spreads through contact with infected rodents, especially things like their droppings, their urines, aaliva. A lot of people think that it originated from these people on a cruise ship who they docked an island and didn't do the kind of typical uh, tourist things.
00:48:51
Speaker 1: They want to someplace where it was I forget, but it was some kind of.
00:48:58
Speaker 2: Like a landfill where they might I got exposed to that. And so some of the symptoms that you may have, they can appear flu like you know, fever, fatigue, headaches, muscle aches. But the severe cases can be dangerous to your lung breathing problems. And some strains of the virus can be found in South America. I believe that's where the two tourists.
00:49:19
Speaker 1: Got brought niggas to Atlanta. To Atlanta.
00:49:23
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:49:24
Speaker 2: They also say that when it's when it's real bad, you're like bleeding out the backside.
00:49:28
Speaker 1: Yeah, go to the bath. By the way, three people have died on that boat. Yep. And then the w h O and health agencies have reported roughly eight to eleven confirmed or suspected other cases. For whatever reason, they didn't keep these niggas out in the middle of the ocean. They brought them back to land and I do not know why.
00:49:49
Speaker 3: Well, well, just for context too, this this thing started happening in the beginning of April, and it hit critical mass mid to late April in terms of the awareness of it.
00:49:59
Speaker 1: So I think they if their stories add up.
00:50:02
Speaker 3: I think they were trying to figure this out, and that's how we were able to get the information.
00:50:06
Speaker 1: So there's the annavirus.
00:50:07
Speaker 3: I took the two people to the husband and wife. I think they were in the seventies. They were from Argentina and.
00:50:12
Speaker 1: And they're they're Dutch, but they were right.
00:50:15
Speaker 3: And then the two people that they had at Emery hospital. Oh yeah, every hospital they were under their strict supervision and quarantine. So they're here because they're from here, but they're isolated.
00:50:27
Speaker 1: Now this is this is this is a little scary quarantine. Yeah. Yeah, a couple of couple from New York.
00:50:33
Speaker 2: They made them quarantine and Nebraska they wouldn't let.
00:50:35
Speaker 1: Them over there, like knowing that this ship came from Rats. I just don't understand how it ain't started New York. New York is the most I've ever seen in my life. How is it just in the middle of the like wherever this ship is. I do also just want to add, I don't know if y'all know. World Health Organization also has declared any bola outbreaking access over three hundred cases with suspected eighty eight deaths. And guess what no vaccine for this straight. So like the fact that Hanna virus is dealing right now, Ebola, y'all, the world is ending and I just want you to enjoy yourself.
00:51:14
Speaker 3: Go get that ap and just for we gotta hear, we're done. We're done anyway, we cooked, anyway, you go buy your age. It's done.
00:51:22
Speaker 1: And if y'all know our motherfucking administration, babe, we're not getting on lockdown.
00:51:27
Speaker 3: Like I can't even imagine what RFK is going to tell us to take for the hannavirus. I think we just gotta What you have to do is that's what communities are important, you know, That's why you have conversations. And whatever you did in COVID, it got you through that ship. Do that times five.
00:51:43
Speaker 1: I was having antal sex, so I don't know if I could do that that didn't give you COVID.
00:51:49
Speaker 3: And just to add a footnote too, I think the human to human contact of Hansa virus is called the Andy virus, and yes, Andy strain.
00:51:57
Speaker 1: Also six years from now, they're really just gonna tell us to leave niggas alone because apparently uh Anna virus doesn't stay in your respiratory, doesn't stay in your blood, doesn't stay in your saliva, but it stays in your ball sat guys. So, uh, there was a recent guy who apparently had the same virus six years ago and they found it in his sperm. So they are saying that it could be potentially transmissible, transmissible Transn's just scared, baby, It's going to be a decreasing cream pie all right? Cream pie is crazy.
00:52:37
Speaker 3: So you want to stay away from rats, right? So no Takashi six, I mean, you don't do that.
00:52:49
Speaker 1: No rats? All right? Well let's get into celebrities. Save the darness things. Babe, Kevin Heart roast the internet. I don't listen. I feel like once a quarter we have to talk about fucking comedy being offensive, and I'm kind of like, Okay, maybe I shouldn't have the thoughts of the ration. Yeah, for jay Z, could you let us know what the Kevin Hart roast was, was a part of it and why there is such an uproar. Yeah, so Kevin Hart was roasted.
00:53:25
Speaker 2: He follows in the steps of Tom Brady, who was the last Netflix roast participant. Obviously, like roast are something that were a big events that kind of happened in the City between comedians.
00:53:36
Speaker 1: Way back in the day they were on.
00:53:38
Speaker 2: TV occasionally, but now Netflix is stepping all into that lane. And the thing is, you know, there's the familiar faces that he was getting roasted by, like Chelsea Handler and some of the people that he came up, Jeff Ross, Jeffross of everyone, but then there was some unfamiliar faces for people who may be Kevin Hearts fans, like Tony Tony and you know with the unfamiliars, they also they often venture into territory that we don't think it's so cool. And he made a reference of George Floyd jokes and Kevin Hart size and George Floyd not being able to breathe, and the Internet didn't take too kindly, including Cheryl Underwood.
00:54:23
Speaker 1: So Cheryl Underwood has spoken up because there were also jokes about her, her husband who died. Yeah. Yeah, I think he jumped off a building or something. But when asked by the brad she if she felt any type of way about the joke that Tony had about her husband, she said, one, they came with me with respect, and two, you're right in a rowst there are no limits. Here's what I want people to know. It allowed me to talk about black men and mental illness. She had no problem with the jokes. No, this was what Cheryl under was. She had no she had no problems with the jokes. I do think seeing that this is a roast of a black man, and seeing that all the writers of these jokes were white, it just allowed them to get a whole bunch of racist shit off very much. I also felt like the delivery of the George Floyd joke, it wasn't first off, he stumbled over it. Yes, yes I did. I do think like making jokes about a man dying from police brutality, But I don't know. I'm not gonna lie. What are y'all thoughts? I gonna hold you. It's a roast we used to roast in school, and baby, you could talk about somebody, Mama, they daddy, they mental illness, they skin disease, they are diseased.
00:55:45
Speaker 2: That was but that was your people that you choose to eat lunch with.
00:55:49
Speaker 8: Yeah, his friends though, No, No, I feel like this is my thing, right, Like Kevin harr is bankable, bankable movie star, right, so big of a movie star that he so gets additional money because if his social media is so huge right, a banker, move star.
00:56:05
Speaker 2: Social media is so huge that he gets a Netflix deal, right, So like he's a powerful dude. He could decide what he wants to do. It's not like he has to take any deal. So it's like, if you're gonna get roasted, you could literally have like all your people, and all your people are the Illis comics anyway, so it's like, I don't understand, like why you want to get like these dudes who are kind of across the aisle like an alternate comedy that's like not your man's in.
00:56:25
Speaker 1: Them, because good roasts come from people who know you.
00:56:27
Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying to have this dude roast you, and of course he's gonna go over the line because he doesn't know you, so he has to just say some wild shiite Kevin Hart could have done else.
00:56:39
Speaker 1: Chelsea Handler got roasted. There were like everyone kind of that was on stage got jokes for Chelsea. Chelsea Handler's his person.
00:56:47
Speaker 2: But Chelsea Handler wasn't even happy with like going back and forth because that wasn't like do was this an outside It's like if there's a roast of Mandy Bee, it would be like all right, and then let's put here we go.
00:56:59
Speaker 1: Exactly.
00:57:00
Speaker 3: She can't show up to the roaster Mandy beat and start talking ship without getting run down.
00:57:04
Speaker 1: This is different. I don't know if Kevin has beef with anybody that was up there.
00:57:12
Speaker 2: Like who is that white Republican chick that Charlotage kept on bringing on Tommy Lauren. Yeah, it's like Tommy Lauren shows up and she doesn't know you, so she doesn't know what to say. So she's gonna say some mixed girl ship because she doesn't know what.
00:57:24
Speaker 3: That's why your mama white like she get pushing the face for that.
00:57:28
Speaker 1: Okay exactly, But so y'all didn't like the joke.
00:57:32
Speaker 3: No, no, that joke, Yeah, because look what happened when that happened, when George Floyd, uh, that whole scenario the cops, and then so much was done on the ground. We get we get the kid Kyle written, howse shoot somebody you know, protesting. It's so many things that happened that's off limits. You can talk about Kevin directly and say some wow, but that's the Yeah, that's the problem is that George Shoyden has ship to do with ship.
00:57:58
Speaker 1: Nothing.
00:57:59
Speaker 3: You you you you literally just use that for the jokes.
00:58:03
Speaker 1: But it's weird because okay, so where do you draw the line. I get that that's current, but there were lynching and slavery jokes too. Oh yeah, essentially shouldn't be. But those those jokes.
00:58:15
Speaker 3: In specified something a person and ask George Floyd family how they feel about that. Oh, you know, they're pissed. Right, So it's like there's a line that's comedy. Comedy is a big umbrella. However, they didn't. He didn't have to do that to be effective my thing with comedy, and that didn't hurt Kevin Hart more so than it hurt the community that he's talking to. Yeah, yeah, yeah, they didn't have any effects. First of all, the joke wasn't like I'm a person who thinks that literally anything can be funny, for better or for worse.
00:58:47
Speaker 1: Sure, anything can be funny.
00:58:49
Speaker 3: You have to it's your job as a comedian to know how to navigate that space and make the thing funny. I don't think that there was a punchline. Like, first off, he said, George Floyd is looking up at us. You're saying George Ford is in hell boom looking up at us, and he can't read, Like all right, bro, Like where is the joke? Where's the punch line? What is the commentary that you're making that I'm supposed to be like, Oh, that's funny because George Floyd is in hell and he is not get breathed, Like, is that what I'm supposed to laugh at?
00:59:14
Speaker 1: Like I don't get there. I mean Kevin Hart laughed, he and I don't.
00:59:19
Speaker 2: Kevin Hart is paid to laugh. And also Kevin Hart was doing this move a lot.
00:59:24
Speaker 3: Yeah, But like, if I'm Kevin Hart, I can also choose, because I'm so powerful, I can choose to go straight face. I can choose to pay you dust if I if I want to, or I can laugh nervously and act like everything is all good.
00:59:38
Speaker 1: He chose the latter, so so be it.
00:59:41
Speaker 3: But the thing with the with the comedy is that even though I believe that anything can be funny because I laugh at dark humor of all kinds, like dark humor can be hilarious, But that doesn't mean that there's not a line. It doesn't mean that you won't not just like offend someone because of jokes. Because I saw people responding saying, oh, well, if you can't take a joke. You don't need to be in comedy wop. The one group of people who you can't talk to like that is black people. We know how to joke, just like you said, what were going on?
01:00:08
Speaker 1: People? We roast people.
01:00:09
Speaker 3: We're gonna say all kinds of shit about you one foot of Grandma man, So we know how to laugh at your trauma, like that's not a thing.
01:00:16
Speaker 1: We don't have a problem with that.
01:00:17
Speaker 3: But we're not also not gonna just let you say any old thing again, especially when it wasn't had no relevance to the joke with somebody enjoorge like this does Kevin Hart, No, George Floyd? Is that supposed to? Like, where's the connection that we're supposed to giggle at? I just didn't get it.
01:00:33
Speaker 1: I will. I will say that comedy as of late has seemed much darker, like even when we look at like the Dave Chappelle stand ups like he he teeters the line a lot with where you don't know if you should lie or not right right, And so I feel like it's just the direction we're going in right now. Well, society is.
01:00:55
Speaker 3: It's dark, it needs healing, and we are sure politically socially, and it seeps in every aspect that we're doing everything. But I've seen so many I get I follow a lot of comedians and I get a lot of comedy content on my Instagram algorithm, and I've seen lately all kinds of jokes that are hilarious, that are like on the edge, on the line, gay jokes, black jokes, all kinds of stuff, but it's like legitimately funny stuff that even when you look at the comments of people responding to it, whatever the group is that it is supposed to be like targeted by the joke, they're still laughing with the comedian.
01:01:35
Speaker 1: And I've seen a lot of that.
01:01:36
Speaker 3: So I think, just if you're going to be a comedian, you want to tell edgie jokes, tell your edgy jokes, but just.
01:01:42
Speaker 1: Be good at it.
01:01:44
Speaker 2: Be funny, Be funny, Like when you're doing a roast, like you got to keep your circle.
01:01:49
Speaker 1: Who's going to roast you better than the people you know?
01:01:52
Speaker 2: Yeah, like Homeboys is not on the block, he's not on the block. He's coming in, so he's just trying to say his wild hell Mary joke and it's like he's protecting funny.
01:02:02
Speaker 1: Do you do you think we talk about the roast at all if that joke is not said.
01:02:08
Speaker 3: Yeah, because because the real highlight of it should have been Kat Williams. That was like a semi headline. It was, but it was like that, so that would have been the conversation. And how their interaction Versus and Angeliff came to pretty much hijacked the moment. He not being able to get and there's nothing else in his roast that was.
01:02:28
Speaker 1: Like, okay, talk all right, well, y'all, the time has come. Let's get hurted a round. Ba we are talking about him.
01:02:43
Speaker 3: Let's do let's do logic over emotions.
01:02:46
Speaker 1: The man, the man, Man, he is the man. Drake is here to take over the summer, now, y'all. I predicted this a year ago. I was. I was just a year early. He didn't do last summer, but baby, he's here this summer. He gave us three albums on Friday. He gave us Habidi, which is his R and B. He gave Iceman.
01:03:19
Speaker 9: Know I just learned, Hello, let me bib t.
01:03:27
Speaker 1: Here we go, Here we go, We're not here we go. He also dropped, of course Iceman, which was highly anticipated. That was his rap album. And then he also gave us Made of Honor, which was international sounds and tinged. My I'm not selling it, however, however, immediate listen. It has been the only thing I've been playing. Actually, I would like to rate my thoughts on these albums real quick and then and then I'm going to pass it to of course the hip hop heads and the hater so o triple in the building for me. I have been in love with Maid of Honor, which is crazy because I was not an honestly never Mind fan. Y'all know. I wasn't even a renaissance fan early. I'm not a house type of type of girl. But baby, these songs. I was on the plane and it literally made me like moving my seat. I love the features popcorn, I love the sexy red uh write her right there? Whatever the fuck I love shut up. I'm obsessed so much so that I actually made a drake By playlist so I combined. I am also in love. If you guys do not know Gordo, Gordo is stop it. He's a DJ. He is a part of ten records across the three albums, and literally I tweeted before I even knew the credits I was like, this is given Gordo. Now. He is a song called Healing and Sideways that released a couple of years ago that I still play today. I love it, Drake, you did your big one. I love it go by Racials, But no, I really like Iceman too, love the R and B sound way.
01:05:31
Speaker 3: You said he wasn't gonna dis Kendrick Lamar and that whole album was nigga.
01:05:34
Speaker 1: Okay, I will say the only critique that I do have in terms of Iceman, because he's not really dis seeing too much on the other albums, But in terms of Iceman, I don't know if I have enough beef to enjoy Iceman right now, because god damn, he's just throwing shots after shots after shots. And I realized when I don't like a person, bitch, out of sight, out of mind, bitch your muted your and followed your blocks, like you just brought up a bitch his name that like maybe I don't know what's a bridge, you know what I mean? Like, what did you? I don't even cross. And so listening to Iceman, babe, he was hurt. He was it was it was Lebron James, it was Kendrick jay Z and beyond. They'll never get over it. To me, it was like the distance were cool cool, he he gives, he gives, hurt angry on Iceman. Now I'm gonna give it to the hip hop ats. I think I glazed enough. I love that for you. We're talking through. She actually admitted we got one of the glazers that actually, no, no, no no. My whole Twitter if you go, is nothing but me talking about how much I loved you low key being low key. We when everyone was shipting on made of honor, we were like, na, it's.
01:07:03
Speaker 2: The one, and I think that's the best of the people.
01:07:07
Speaker 1: But let's let's talk about it. What are y'all thoughts? Hip hop heads and hater Let's get into it.
01:07:12
Speaker 3: As a As a hater, I want to go first, Okays, as a hater, I want to the music.
01:07:18
Speaker 1: This is the rest of the episode, by the way, let's what's set you here? Right there? Oh this right here, this ain't nothing.
01:07:23
Speaker 3: This is just this just this is just this is just a little gn X merchandise, you know what I'm saying.
01:07:27
Speaker 1: Like I said, it's cold.
01:07:29
Speaker 3: When the season of Iceman is cold, I wanted to make sure pnemonia honsa virus. You know what I'm saying, because I should be real. You know, niggas be rats and ship. So I want to make sure that you know. I mean, let's go. So I like, I like, I'll go order you like about half of Iceman. Okay, specifically, I like all the make them records me to make them, make them, make them play my favorite which my name.
01:07:58
Speaker 1: There's good records on there.
01:07:59
Speaker 3: There's records all so that I never want to hear again ever, Like I'm super cool on the ran to Atlanta song Future. Well, here's what I say. The star of Iceman to me is forty and all the producers because the music sounds incredible.
01:08:14
Speaker 1: It sounds great, all the beats, not.
01:08:16
Speaker 3: Like there's some good even though it's a little bit too much beat switching. He does a lot of beat switching where I'm like, how many times we're gonna do this? But the music sounds really really good.
01:08:26
Speaker 1: Yeah it does, so I think that's the chality.
01:08:29
Speaker 3: Yeah, the musicality, the sonically.
01:08:34
Speaker 1: It's dope doctor doctor and hip hop doctor music.
01:08:38
Speaker 3: So yeah, so there are some songs that I do that I do like on there. The problem, the problem is is that, and he's.
01:08:45
Speaker 1: Rapping really well he is.
01:08:46
Speaker 3: The problem is is that he's always gonna be able to find a pocket a flow, like he's good at that. But what he's actually saying is too much bitching. It's too much complaining. It's too much whining. It's too much moaning. It's too much. It's too much. You did the hard part six. You waved the white flag. You said, I'm done with this. You said, I don't have nothing else for this. This is some bullshit, y'all. Niggas is lying on my name.
01:09:09
Speaker 1: Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
01:09:11
Speaker 3: You dropped sexy songs for you, you dropped the hondred gigs, and a few years later and you still got more wine and still got more bitching.
01:09:19
Speaker 1: You put out a song called No New.
01:09:20
Speaker 3: Friends and Fake Love, like twelve years ago, and you still complaining about the fact that niggas are fake and niggas did you dirty and blah blah blah blah blah. So that part is annoying to me because I'm like, I want to be able to enjoy the music.
01:09:34
Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like I feel like that's I feel like that's less his problem and more like your problem.
01:09:40
Speaker 1: To be honest, I think he's justified.
01:09:43
Speaker 2: I think I think he is just I think so the album is full of agreement and it is a lot to like take throughout. But I also think, like so I was gonna write about this, I still might like him and Kanye together and say like boys will be boys, but like these niggas is forty and so it's like this this idea. It's like we have different expectations of what we want from them. But also too, like I think Kanye especially, but now Drake too, they're playing to like their second audience, like part of their first audience, and now they're playing to their second audience, and for all of that, it's new to them, right, Like we've we've like all the records you name, we've heard those before, we know them before, we like the first version of them and we don't want to hear the second version of them. But also too, it's like he's been rocking since two thousand and nine, right, so it's like for us like we're we're I think it's okay when people say, like, oh, I've outgrown Drake, because that's that's a personal thing. I don't think that's like an indictment of him. I think for him, he has his second audience that now he's paying attention to. It's paying attention to him, right, Like, It's not like I have this audience and nobody's paying me no mind. Like that Sofi show in La that Kanye did. That's a whole younger set of audience that that fucked with him. We're probably all out on him, but he jumped on that, and I think I think Drake is doing the same thing too.
01:10:58
Speaker 1: I think it's find to say I agree with Yeah, I'm perfetly.
01:11:02
Speaker 2: I think it's perfectly fine to say, like I've heard this before, he's done this, like miss me with that. But I think for him, he's like I have a completely different audience now and they haven't heard it.
01:11:11
Speaker 3: So to your point, Rock like the Diehard Drake stands as much as they, well, there's two parts of it. The Diehard Drake Stands. Were all day on the internet talking about Kendrick is dragging it. Oh, he's doing it at the super Bowl. He's doing music video. He's dragging, and he's dragging, and he's dragging it out his nigga's back two years later with an hour and a half worth of dragging it, and everyone's like, yeah, it's shit hard. So that all the stands wanted, whether they admitted it or not, they wanted a comeback.
01:11:39
Speaker 1: They wanted retribution.
01:11:41
Speaker 3: And the only reason you want retribution is because you took an l No one wants retribution for winning. So like that speaks for itself in its own thing. I don't know if I'm ready to say that it's not an indictment of him, because he created these expectations.
01:11:55
Speaker 1: Not only the expectations. I feel like that's that's what the problem is. Everyone is the bad guy and he's just like, woe is me? He started clearly like and I don't know he did Cold Like I didn't like that. I ain't gonna lie. I had my issue. I did not like that. I just would have.
01:12:14
Speaker 2: Done Did he do anything to Cold other than providing context?
01:12:18
Speaker 1: He pretty much anything to marry one. I don't think. I don't think he did him dirty.
01:12:24
Speaker 3: I don't think I think he gave Cold. He gave a couple of people the kick.
01:12:28
Speaker 1: And he gave her warning. He's like he said, he told me Lucky that he should.
01:12:31
Speaker 3: Give him some more, he told he said flat out, but that's like sasically I love you because he said, literally, I love you because of the history, but I can't forgive you, which I think is fair. Like if he was Drake, I think that's fair. Like if you don't funk with Cole no more, like, that's that's a decision that Cole made for his own.
01:12:57
Speaker 1: Light skin like yeah, yo's that's the thing, like some of it was. It's like, Nigga, where is he Like, yeah, he definitely did.
01:13:11
Speaker 3: So that means that when Cold did port Antonio, Drake wasn't trying to hear that ship.
01:13:16
Speaker 1: Well.
01:13:16
Speaker 3: The most ironic part about port Antonio is that he talks about if I would have did it, I would have lost two brothers.
01:13:21
Speaker 1: Well, nigga, you didn't and you lost. I think him and Kendrick are still very like he said.
01:13:28
Speaker 3: He said, he told the desk that he has not spoken to do right, but I don't think.
01:13:32
Speaker 1: I don't know if it's a problem. I don't know.
01:13:34
Speaker 3: I don't know if it's a problem. But he said, I have not talked to Doe.
01:13:37
Speaker 1: Well, apparently the nigga not answering this. I mean, it's weird. Because you boud. But but again I think it just goes to showing maybe that's Drake's problem. He's in this industry where he's not realizing he's in an industry where people aren't really friends. Yeah, trying to be friends with every I've learned that, and I've learned that in podcasting, like these are my peers, but he ain't my friends. And I've over used that word friend a lot, which I think is where you see he's really hurt by Damar and Lebron. And I think that he thought that there was a call in hypocrisy. What do you mean by that?
01:14:16
Speaker 3: Because he called out the DeMar de Rosen again and I thought about I saw somebody tweet it was like, wait a minute, Kawhi he was at the pop out? How come he don't get no smoke?
01:14:25
Speaker 1: Maybe they were, he probably was.
01:14:27
Speaker 2: Kawi is not hanging out with Drake.
01:14:29
Speaker 1: Though, like I don't think. I don't think he's not, but you know, yeah, no, we we know they with Drake. I'm I don't, but Damar and Lebron care about the whole Sorry, Savannah.
01:14:42
Speaker 3: I think he was upset. Could he put a grown man on his arm and that grown man with another man with a jersey shy shy from Okay, yes.
01:14:57
Speaker 1: Is now on this nigga's body. Oh my Wayne, but even that, right, Wayne came out and was like, Drake fucked on one of his girls while he was in jail, Like that, that's my figure Like that. That's what I'm saying, Drake, You'll be doing and moving about, but you don't talk about this. But now everyone is the bad guy. Everyone does you wrong.
01:15:19
Speaker 3: Well, listen, you need to sit down with doctor right.
01:15:25
Speaker 1: Live session that ship. Now, now you have some list. I do have some list. I do have some list. Talk to me of these lists.
01:15:32
Speaker 3: So the first list that I would like to go over is the ten worst lines on Iceman because.
01:15:39
Speaker 1: Now you pulled this.
01:15:40
Speaker 3: This is this is this is my list. This, this is okay doing this because the problem. The problem is it's kind of like how people would say, like I look at Drake rapping, kind of how people look at Rihanna singing.
01:15:50
Speaker 1: Right, I don't know.
01:15:53
Speaker 3: Listen, some people would tell you that Rihanna can't sing. They will tell you fact that she cannot sing. I would say, I think Rihanna's voice, the quality of her voice sounds good. I've heard Rianna sound good on multiple records, that she sounds good. She's not Whitney Houston, it's not Selean Dion, but she sounds good.
01:16:09
Speaker 1: Drake can rap.
01:16:11
Speaker 3: He knows how to find a flow, he knows how to find a pocket. But is he a good rapper by like the standard of who I consider like some of the greatest rappers ever. No, And on this Iceman problem, the problem is his good rapping is full of some of the corniest lines in the world, stuff that they bury J Cole for online, all the J Coles corny, and all the shit about you can't outfart me in all J Cole's worst punch lines.
01:16:39
Speaker 1: Straight's got full of them.
01:16:41
Speaker 3: So in no particular order, I'm with Noel like I'm Chris Kringle. He says on burning Bridges. That is a terrible line. Gona make them pay. I rack up a tab in Chanelle because I do buy everything like I.
01:17:01
Speaker 10: Can actually like floated with that, But he said floating but the bar, But what did the bar hit?
01:17:11
Speaker 1: The hold? Legitimate? And you're getting into the rappidy rap. They also say that Drake makes music for the hole. No, not for but me and me and Yomi really liked that. Well, I know, but I want you to demand more. I want you to expect better of these.
01:17:29
Speaker 3: Niggas because they drink a lot of cocktails too, so a lot of lady they might have been drinking lady water. He means, means, all right, this is the one where he really tried it. And I was like, this nigga is really trying us right now. Is it the fair skin or is it the Jewish roots? While people want to not see me on top of the mountain like I do, the dude to accuse us of anti Semitism because he's wet.
01:17:57
Speaker 1: Listen, get the funk out of here. Listen. I think that was just bad. That was a bad one. I don't think that reason. It was like terrible reach. I'm down.
01:18:12
Speaker 3: I'm down to put bills on their face, no wonder why they've been ducking Drake. First of all, get it bills on their face, duck and Drake.
01:18:21
Speaker 1: Then he goes explained, I hate when niggas explain the bar shut the fuck up, Shut the fuck up.
01:18:28
Speaker 3: R I p Kobe, But y'all niggas broke he that's probably why y'all be shocking together, get the fuck out of here.
01:18:37
Speaker 1: Not great, not great. I get it, connect to each other, but what the fuck are you talking about? Nigga?
01:18:45
Speaker 3: Got a nigga better have a bag with the pipe like they come from a Scottish home.
01:18:51
Speaker 1: Oh like bagpipes the w go to hell with.
01:18:57
Speaker 3: That line, speak on me and gain a lot, just like the dish detergent.
01:19:03
Speaker 9: Go to hell, Go to hell, Go to hell, go to hell to hell. Horrible the whole He said that for real on Little Birdie where he wraps like cariboo. He's gonna wrappings this dumb the whole entire song of plot twists. Nigga, you're not twisting nothing. You're not doing your fingers and nosed the video last night.
01:19:27
Speaker 3: You're not doing none of that. Shut the funk up. I hate I like.
01:19:30
Speaker 1: Drake with the wh Drake become a gang wh do you become a gang member?
01:19:34
Speaker 10: Like?
01:19:34
Speaker 3: Shut the funk up? Oh my, niggas gotta be around. Hockey coach said that one again.
01:19:41
Speaker 1: Niggas gotta be. He calls himself Ice now.
01:19:43
Speaker 3: He gave himself a new name like Big Ellie, who no one's ever called him ice before.
01:19:47
Speaker 1: But find his name is ice name.
01:19:49
Speaker 3: Niggas gotta be around ice with the sticks like on a hockey coach. Go to hell, Go to hell, Go to hell, Go to hell. Where's my other one that he had some dumb ass ship. Oh, this one checks?
01:20:01
Speaker 1: This one is for you.
01:20:03
Speaker 3: Check signing is my kink pushing out ink? I feel like a squid. Wait, the squid push a check signing is my kink pushing out ink?
01:20:21
Speaker 1: I feel like I'm a squid. This is your king. This is the nigga who you're telling me is the new jay Z. This is the nigga that you're telling me. I can't not everyone can be perfect. Yeah, do that good. He just said, we have to compile the worst lines that Kendricks. You can do that. That's easy to do. That's easy.
01:20:52
Speaker 2: And I'm not doing this like I'm not doing this corny, like I'm picking Drake and and I'm not picking Kendrick.
01:20:57
Speaker 1: I'm picking both of them.
01:20:58
Speaker 2: But I think it's it's all the here, Especially if you put out three albums, it's easy to do that.
01:21:03
Speaker 1: It's like with basketball highlights.
01:21:04
Speaker 2: You can pick all Lebron James's worse basketball highlights.
01:21:07
Speaker 1: Doesn't mean he's not ill. These are legitimately really bad.
01:21:11
Speaker 3: But I feel like he pressed corny punchlines in this in a way that he has not before. And I've ever heard him go this hard with like so like used to like in his prime, Wayne used to like reach a little bit, but he was able to kind of get it off. These are like some of these are egregious as.
01:21:27
Speaker 1: Hip hop heads. Jason A. King, what are y'all's like takes on all three projects and him dropping three projects, clearly I'm assuming it was to get out of his universally.
01:21:41
Speaker 2: Yeah, so that to get out of the deal thing.
01:21:42
Speaker 1: That's tough.
01:21:43
Speaker 2: Prince tried to do that, and there's usually clauses about like how how like soon you can drop projects out. My guess is it might be some like post settlement negotiation that has to do with that album. I don't think it's just as easy as I dropped three and I'm out universal agreeing.
01:22:00
Speaker 1: Apparently that's why there were credit But here's those were surprised to, you know. But here's the thing.
01:22:06
Speaker 2: None of it would be we would none of us after the thing, none, none of it's going to be a surprise.
01:22:11
Speaker 1: We weren't in these negotiations.
01:22:13
Speaker 3: I hate when when Twitter and social media always want to talk contract talk as if we was in the you know, we weren't there if it happens, and then we could get some some context.
01:22:23
Speaker 1: But I just want to say, Janice, you fucked up whatever you know they found us. But I was wondering that the brand far um G.
01:22:33
Speaker 3: I was wondering if Jane or not because and I'm like, if this isn't the real Janis, you were doing her so well.
01:22:41
Speaker 1: The real Janus please stand out goddamn. But yeah, we we we overall thoughts on the on the albums.
01:22:50
Speaker 2: So I think like rap discourse is so hard to have now because people will say, like they don't like I'm not saying this about John just because you brought it up. But it's like people say like I don't like Drake Stands and so then influence that on the way to feel about the album, right, or like Drake is corny Drake Drake said he was cornying in two thousand and nine, right, So he every album, even though ones you think are classics or the mixed if you think of classic, he always has those kind of moments. I don't I think there's a lot of like good execution across all three albums.
01:23:17
Speaker 1: I think Made of Honors probably the best. Yep, he in Iceman.
01:23:21
Speaker 2: He's rapping right, like he's rapping his ass off. There's just so much agreement throughout it, and sometimes it's hard kind of to listen to it all.
01:23:29
Speaker 1: Like what did I Miss? Was like perfect?
01:23:32
Speaker 2: He could have just had that, like the double entendre of like still being like confident but also like the wounded, like did I miss something? He could have just had that and not have the rest of them. But despite that, you know, I think there's a lot of good records on there. I think there's a lot of good execution. I'm I'm, I really do think it's kind of for his like younger set of audience. Those Drake stands that we're talking about who are caping for him in the comments, I imagine those people are all under thirty. Those aren't people been listening to him since two thousand and nine, you know what I mean.
01:24:03
Speaker 1: I've been listening to since oh nine, Nigga and I like it, yeah, but it's it's it's quality. It's quality music.
01:24:09
Speaker 2: Some of it is like the timing, like and he never really like took his chill from it. Then he's dropping it like two years to the month of when like all the records about him out, Like I think a lot of it is like Drake appears to be like really tone deaf on most things, but his talent, it's to me, I think it still remains there. It's just it's hard not to separate, like the standum, the packaging, how you released it, Iceman, the streamer stuff and everything like that really makes it hard to kind of like just listen to the music and have like music discourse. But if I separated all that, I do think it's good music. I think he's sort of as good as he's ever been. It's just for some people like us who've listened forever, we've probably heard a lot of versions of these records before.
01:24:53
Speaker 1: What about You A King? I think he's rating it. We're doing rating? Oh, I think so, because it's I have to cross the board for me, So look, I'm not look. I don't like so.
01:25:09
Speaker 3: I've always said this about even going back to the jay Z and no Sting. I don't like the anti ship. Like if you say you the best, prove it right.
01:25:20
Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
01:25:23
Speaker 3: I watched the because I watched episode one, two, three, I think the last time we recorded. I don't think y'all was aware about that. He dropped episodes. Yeah, episode I watched episode four in real time with the videos and everything, and I was like, damn, this dude is like to your point. The music, the musicality was dope, but he just kept and I'm like, now if he start the ship up again, now, what is everybody going to start complaining about the end results of that?
01:25:51
Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, Like, I think he's going to be I don't think it's gets a response.
01:25:54
Speaker 3: I think jay Z is going to respond. I think, yes, I think he will.
01:25:59
Speaker 2: I think jay responding an interview. I think before he does in the song, I.
01:26:03
Speaker 1: Really, did we know where the beef lies with the Drake?
01:26:07
Speaker 3: I mean I can just assume, yeah, yeah, I would know. I think before that, I think.
01:26:14
Speaker 1: He declined super Bowl Drake. We don't know that, didn't he say?
01:26:17
Speaker 8: He?
01:26:18
Speaker 1: Elli confirmed it? Elli confirmed it? He did? Okay, yeah, yeah, that he got the offer and he declined it at the time.
01:26:24
Speaker 3: I think I think previously not previous previously right, No, I don't I think their thing happened years ago.
01:26:31
Speaker 1: I don't think it had nothing to do with now.
01:26:33
Speaker 3: But they've had a back and forth like they've had a they've had a back come together. I mean he did the jay Z did the freestyle sorry Miss Duddy, Yeah Drake, when Drake said that he didn't like his art his art collection or some ship like that.
01:26:45
Speaker 1: All I know is but they on Twitter broke down the music video that he just dropped where it looks like beyonces the Diamond Ankle Monitor and it's all like, like the themes are around her videos and Lemonade.
01:27:01
Speaker 3: And you're a lockdown. You know, let me get that bussy.
01:27:05
Speaker 1: That's what That's what he's saying.
01:27:08
Speaker 3: He's being disrespectful again, that's what he's saying.
01:27:10
Speaker 1: Yeah, if Hove.
01:27:12
Speaker 3: Does say something, which I firmly believe, he got a May thirtieth at Rooth's Picnic. If we're looking at traditional Hole, he's not going to just do those songs and that's it.
01:27:22
Speaker 1: He's gonna give a little.
01:27:23
Speaker 3: He's gonna give us a cappella and he's.
01:27:26
Speaker 1: Gonna take That's that's the shot at Roots or Yankee Stadium. That's the That's that's the thing.
01:27:32
Speaker 3: I don't know, because he might, he might give you a snippet or something and give you the whole load. Yes, at stadium, you're gonna take the whole load.
01:27:45
Speaker 1: Hold on.
01:27:46
Speaker 3: But but no, I thought that after I listen to it and listened to Uh Maid of Honor her beat beat bi T bp T, that was my favorite out of the three. Classic is like and the reason favorite out of the three. I felt that was quintessential Drake. Yeah, you know, allowing a safe space for men to handle to women, you know what I mean, and be But that's.
01:28:12
Speaker 1: Part of what Like that was about Drake. From the beginning.
01:28:15
Speaker 3: That was big spoon, little little spool music, you know what I'm saying.
01:28:18
Speaker 1: And I with that. I love being the big spoon.
01:28:27
Speaker 3: She's gonna beat a big spool with the Dude six two. But Nah, overall, I think I could have stupid. I could have did away with Iceman, but I expected it. I did expect him to do that. I told man that he was going to do this.
01:28:41
Speaker 1: Now.
01:28:41
Speaker 3: I didn't think he was going to do the whole album. You know, I know he has some ship to get off or whatever. But also you did the hard part six so to been cool to just you getting back in your bag, maybe ushering some new Toronto talent something, you know what I mean.
01:28:53
Speaker 1: I didn't get that.
01:28:54
Speaker 3: So aside from all the antics, which I don't believe, I think I don't think he cares an about the cultural impact versus the streaming and the numbers and the fuddy dudiness of it. I think he really cares about that now because he's around people around him that be feeding him.
01:29:13
Speaker 1: You gotta do this, think about all the people he's with now, right.
01:29:16
Speaker 3: So, I don't know if I were rate it, but Habti was my favorite out of the three.
01:29:24
Speaker 1: On HABETI I don't know. I didn't.
01:29:27
Speaker 3: I didn't you didn't take it was all sequential when for episode.
01:29:37
Speaker 1: Any standouts? So the woman with.
01:29:39
Speaker 3: Mic is asking which which the discord said that you need to make up just so a micr.
01:29:48
Speaker 1: Any standout cuts.
01:29:52
Speaker 3: I'm trying to I saw a Timberland post that, uh.
01:29:55
Speaker 1: Jenny's was was going to be the one.
01:29:58
Speaker 3: I don't know if I agree with that.
01:30:00
Speaker 1: That was an interesting way to the phrase.
01:30:03
Speaker 3: We're talking about the AI like the song, but I don't. I don't know timelesses. But whatever, I mean, he's been wrong.
01:30:09
Speaker 1: Yeah, he's been wrong. He's been wrong a.
01:30:12
Speaker 3: Lot, is he Okay, I'm not sure. I actually don't know the last couple of years.
01:30:20
Speaker 1: It's weird. It's getting weird.
01:30:24
Speaker 3: Thing we talked about, Timple, you always think about well for me, for Rell, right through proximity at least for I mean, for us said some stuff politically that we don't agree with, right or lack thereof, but at least we get music, Like we have more recent data to say.
01:30:40
Speaker 1: Oh for real, he can say whatever you want about leaning into the data.
01:30:44
Speaker 10: Alright, no, but yeah, but that ain't Yeah, you know what I'm afraid of.
01:30:49
Speaker 2: I'm afraid of getting old and being weird. Like that's the feeling that's.
01:30:57
Speaker 1: Get weird.
01:30:58
Speaker 2: And I'm like, oh my god, that's at not weird.
01:31:03
Speaker 1: But you got to have that's a high compliment.
01:31:05
Speaker 3: But this is why these this podcast in particular is dope, because like I always tell people, like we're friends, right yeah, yeah, and if we see each other do some weird ship not recording or whatever, like Nigga, what you're doing. We can talk to yo yo, you're good, Yo Jay? Why you got that Philly had.
01:31:25
Speaker 1: On like that? You know.
01:31:28
Speaker 3: That's rare you know, crazy, hold each other accountable to be weird.
01:31:32
Speaker 1: We won't be weird. I love it overall. I'm glad uh that it's it's seemingly about to be a good summer music. So I would like to say some nice things. There we go. Let's let's you say some nice things.
01:31:51
Speaker 3: So the first thing I'll say is that it is funny that when he was, when Drake was this and everybody and family matters. He has this line about the wekend about you know now they only play your music, where the boys got a little more pride. And then I listened to me the Honor and I'm like all the boys but probably are gonna love this ship like you kidding me, Like you listened to Beyonce Renaissance and you made a hemisance Like that's how I see, That's.
01:32:17
Speaker 1: How I see made of honor.
01:32:18
Speaker 3: But I will say this about this album. Good vibes on there, but particularly the three the three song run from Amazing shape b b W.
01:32:31
Speaker 1: That's a that's a tough three songs. And then can I tell you what else? I love the interlude interlude where's my stuff? Here's your stuff?
01:32:41
Speaker 7: Yeah, you know you're married, but where your bad.
01:32:48
Speaker 1: Did you get it? Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's very I love it.
01:32:51
Speaker 3: Yeah, this is a very duck lip album, Like this is like Drake duck Lips, full duck Lips, like yeah yeah yeah yeah, very very sassy Drake. But those yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. This that this is very this right here, but those three is a super super tough three songs. I love those three records, like in just that that seems right there. I also have another list. I have a list of the five best lyrics.
01:33:19
Speaker 1: I love it. Give me the five from Iceman or make them. Remember he was talking he said, I forget the line.
01:33:27
Speaker 3: He said it before that, but he said you should be in a pack with some rats like Dean Martin.
01:33:30
Speaker 1: I like that one. I can get down.
01:33:32
Speaker 2: That was the one I thought that would be on the worst list.
01:33:35
Speaker 1: No, I don't think that was bad enough.
01:33:36
Speaker 2: I feel like I feel like I've heard a variation of that.
01:33:38
Speaker 1: I was about to know.
01:33:39
Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sure people have said that before because it wasn't that hard to put together.
01:33:43
Speaker 1: But as a line, I can accept that as a line.
01:33:46
Speaker 3: The funniest thing he said, I'm at the Boguarian Turkey with my bitch and we ain't here.
01:33:52
Speaker 1: For no big teeth. That ship actually made me laugh.
01:33:57
Speaker 3: I just see niggas going to Turkey and getting here and get in some consequences.
01:34:03
Speaker 1: You signed him to that. Damn did he go to Turkey? I don't know where he went, but maybe who knows?
01:34:10
Speaker 3: But I laughed out loud at that, like in a real way.
01:34:15
Speaker 1: Well just because you said that. By the way, y'all be meeting the comments, you know, our Drake critique, it's going up quite a bit. Somebody said I look like a thumb with with teeth, and I can't see it a thumb with teeth. What do we do it? You're bringing up the teacher now.
01:34:42
Speaker 3: The one this here is here is the It's it's still a little bit sus because of the messenger, but this is probably the best thing that he said on the entire three albums and call do you know what I mean? The beef was fully live and you went all and got on your dean and your people are still waiting on a free Palestine.
01:35:04
Speaker 1: I guess everything. And Red, black and Green now I was like just the kick that Kalid deserves. Now.
01:35:12
Speaker 3: The problem is that, like bring it up Drake, like what he signed a little letter that everyone wrote about in the violence and whatever whatever. But Drake, like you don't really stand you never said so the idea that like you could come in and admonish this man, which he deserves, like he fully deserves it. But I just never would have thought that the first rapper who would really get the task on record, this nigga, Like that was crazy.
01:35:42
Speaker 1: But you know it's so crazy.
01:35:44
Speaker 3: Cali messed up bad because Drake is what exactly.
01:35:50
Speaker 1: Did you see? Did you see? Do you see Kali get pressed by the streamer? Yeah? I did, I did? I did?
01:36:00
Speaker 3: Everybody know people and then stepped out the room. I was like another look at but again he was he was dj uh Arab attack right, this is before, right before nine eleven happens.
01:36:15
Speaker 1: He changed and you start getting that was his producer tag. Yeah.
01:36:19
Speaker 3: Yeah, we started talking about this stuff a while ago. It's like when you start getting money from receiving old money, you act accordingly. O money don't care about no culture, old money care about. Hey, you keep we keep powering at you. You just stay in line, and that's what they have to do.
01:36:39
Speaker 1: I think I don't I don't think it's that.
01:36:40
Speaker 2: I think he's just inarticulate, embarrassed, doesn't know himself, doesn't those people. I don't even think it's some like big conspiracy. I think he's just a goof, doesn't know anything about his culture.
01:36:50
Speaker 1: Isn't his wife Middle Eastern as well? From the Bronx, I just don't. I don't know.
01:36:57
Speaker 3: There's a line also that this is necessarily a great line, but it reminded me of actually reminded me of you, not just we don't know. There's a line that he says that reminded me of the first time that you and I met.
01:37:11
Speaker 1: And I don't even know if you remember this.
01:37:12
Speaker 3: Let me okay, hold on, he said, I remember Ravioli and Sarafina. I was at the Dream Hotel before I was in the looking like a Carabina. Now the line is a little corny, but one of the first time, not the first time I came up to New York, but one of the times I came up to New York when I first started working for Bossip. I don't even know what I was there for. I think I was just there to shake hands and kiss babies. And I remember I was I hit you and I was like, yo, let's go to lunch or do something. And I was staying at the Dream Hotel and I was like, Sarafina is right downstairs.
01:37:39
Speaker 1: You just go down and.
01:37:42
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's the first place that we met and had lunch. And I was like, okay, really bad.
01:37:48
Speaker 1: Yeah yeah it's not.
01:37:50
Speaker 3: But he said, I remember, yeah, you know, I always I always see it and I'm curious.
01:37:58
Speaker 1: But it's arry, just like regular. I don't know what the real type of ship, but I was like, ship that reminded me a man. Yeah. Yeah.
01:38:07
Speaker 3: And then I like the line where he said I didn't got my ship inside Arenas like yio with Arenas. That sh was even though like stop with the gun talk, but I thought that was, like that was a cool line.
01:38:17
Speaker 1: I'm not mad at it. I'm not mad at Drake at all. I don't give a fuck. He's taking over. Let's go Drake.
01:38:26
Speaker 3: There is a line that I want to ask y'all about, though, just to see how y'all felt about it. You don't know, there's other releases happening.
01:38:34
Speaker 1: Yeah, just be careful.
01:38:36
Speaker 3: So Kendrick called the Man a master manipulator multiple times, and he says, and Drake says this line.
01:38:43
Speaker 1: I forget what song it was.
01:38:44
Speaker 3: I think it might have been made them pay or make them remember one of them.
01:38:48
Speaker 1: But he says, I put.
01:38:49
Speaker 3: The man in manipulation when I pay your rent, and that's an obligation to our attachment. Then I sprinkle in a little Mercedes in fashion. So like he's talking actively about it. Now, I'm not just like tricking on you. I'm spending his money on you because I want control of this situation.
01:39:07
Speaker 1: I do also want to say there is a line in there too, and I'm not sure which song it is, but he he uses the word grooming.
01:39:14
Speaker 3: Yeah, Pto Bar is selling all week and you're talking about who's grooming.
01:39:17
Speaker 1: Who's grooming who? Yeah, I don't know. Yeah it was. It was just good. All of it's good. All of it's great. I like it. I like, come in here, let Mandy, let's sit with the let's sit with the album for at least a month. Let's see how how it sounds outside, and let's be visiting a month, because I do think that it's probably more full blood. It's gonna fullood, too hard for the radio, and all these type of records like come back in a month.
01:39:49
Speaker 3: I know what I'm seeing on Twitter they've been putting the g n X vocals over over thet and they say fixed.
01:39:58
Speaker 1: Yeah, your algorithm is different.
01:39:59
Speaker 3: Than these records though, you know they have to.
01:40:04
Speaker 1: Oh, if you haven't gotten into it, get then into it, because boot it is key you. Anyways, this was a good This was a good episode. Guys. Good good, good conversa.
