In this episode of Relatable Wisdom, I sit down with Albert Butler, a CPA, financial literacy advocate, and author, to explore the philosophy that has shaped his life—“I can because I will.” But what happens when determination isn't enough, when life challenges your confidence, or when someone you deeply admire tells you something simply isn't possible? Albert shares the deeply personal experience with his father that sparked this belief and the questions it raised about what we're truly capable of.
Our conversation takes us through Albert's journey of professional challenges, family responsibilities, personal loss, and a painful injury that tested his resilience. We explore the difference between motivation and discipline, the role of faith and perseverance during difficult seasons, and how the lessons we inherit from our parents can influence the decisions we make long after they're gone. Albert also shares the emotional story behind his book and why preserving his family's wisdom became so important to him.
How do you keep believing in yourself when everything around you gives you reasons to doubt? Whether you're facing setbacks, questioning your abilities, grieving someone you've lost, or trying to build something meaningful for the next generation, this conversation will resonate with you. Join me as we explore the weight of the words “I can't,” the courage behind “I will,” and what it means to keep moving forward when life doesn't go according to plan.
