이 에피소드에 관해
Toni Nieuwhof is a pharmacist, a lawyer, a divorce mediator, a speaker, and an author. She has watched more marriages end than most people will ever witness up close. She almost watched her own. And somewhere in the middle of a decade of hanging on by a thread, she and her husband Kerry found their way to a marriage that now exceeds every expectation they had when they started.
In this episode, Toni and I dig into what it actually looks like to be honest when it's easier not to be, why lying to yourself is the most destructive thing you can do, what it cost her professionally to be present for her kids during their earliest years and why she'd pay that bill again without hesitation, and why a CEO's piercing question in a hospital hallway became one of the most powerful catalysts for growth in her life.
Toni also shares the new book she's been pouring herself into, Honest to God: Daring to Trust When You Don't Understand, a collective work with 25 voices including Mark Batterson, Ann Voskamp, and Rebecca Lyons, with 100% of profits going to support young adult education through Compassion International and Convoy of Hope.
So here's what I want to leave you with. You've been telling people you're fine for a long time. Maybe you've been telling yourself the same thing. But when's the last time you were actually honest about where you are, what you're carrying, and what you really need? Because that's where the growth starts.
