Why do you keep ending up in the same situation even when you swear this time will be different?
Maybe you keep saying yes and regretting it. You start over every Monday. You overthink the same kinds of decisions. You have the same argument again. Or you get excited about changing something, talk yourself out of it, and months later realize you’re still in the same place.
In this episode of No Longer Allowed, Kristen breaks down what she calls the loop — the sequence happening underneath the problem you keep trying to fix.
Using one of her family’s favorite cheesy Christmas movies, 12 Dates of Christmas, Kristen explains why being frustrated with the ending isn’t always enough to create a different one. Sometimes the real shift happens when you slow everything down and notice the moment where you keep making the same move.
You’ll learn:
- how to recognize a repeating cycle without turning it into another label about who you are
- why guilt, fear, perfectionism and overthinking can keep the same loop going
- how to find the interruption point — the moment where one different response can change what happens next
- why breaking a cycle does not always require a complete life overhaul
- how Kristen’s Guilt Tax loop shows up when you know you want to say no, feel guilty, say yes anyway and end up resentful
Because you cannot interrupt something you haven’t noticed you’re repeating.
Sometimes the situation really is different.
Sometimes it’s the same lesson wearing a different outfit.
And sometimes changing your life begins with recognizing the moment where you normally make the old move — and choosing something different.
Listen now and start noticing the loops you’ve been calling completely separate problems.
