Carol Lin: When the Breaking News Becomes Your Own | Mostly Together Podcast

Carol Lin spent years at the center of some of the biggest breaking news stories of her generation.

The former CNN and ABC News anchor became the first national television anchor to report the September 11th attacks — a moment that would forever become part of her story. But the life behind the headlines was far more complicated than what viewers ever saw on camera.

In this episode of Mostly Together, Carol opens up about the drive that shaped her career, the choices that eventually changed it, and the deeply personal experiences that forced her to rethink what success, love, motherhood and resilience really mean.

Her new memoir, When News Breaks: A Memoir of Love and War, tells the story she never told on television — and our conversation goes there, too.

This is about what happens when the person who is used to covering the breaking news suddenly has to navigate her own.
