What happens when we don’t just remember the past, but we find new ways to bring it back to life?
That idea sits right at the center of today’s conversation. The guest on this episode of Mixtape Chronicles runs a studio focused on archival activation—using photographs, recordings, documents, and other historical materials to create new multimedia projects that connect the past to the present.
Much of that work is rooted in music, including projects connected to the legendary Caffè Lena and jazz great Erroll Garner.
A song can bring back a place, a person, or a version of ourselves we thought we’d forgotten. Archives can do the same—preserving those traces of the past, while also giving us a chance to experience them again in the present.
