OPTIMISM: Texas Offensive Line Takes BIG STEPS in First Scrimmage - Problem Solved? | Texas Football

Texas Longhorns’ offensive line shows renewed promise as Steve Sarkisian’s squad closes a productive scrimmage with minimal penalties and a physical run game—can this retooled unit anchor a championship run? BK, Brad Kellner sizes up standout Laurence Seymore’s rapid rise at left guard, strong debuts from transfers, and key shifts for Brandon Baker and Melvin Siani up front, spotlighting a group with more experience and upside than last season.

Other big takeaways include effective use of the “pony package” with multiple running backs, breakout play from Jonah Williams in the secondary, and valuable reps for freshman linebackers amid a flu outbreak. Texas basketball also wraps summer scrimmages with Matas Vokietaitis and key transfers flashing high-powered offense and depth. Can the Longhorns’ football and basketball rosters translate summer optimism into a dominant 2026 campaign?
